Did you buy a return ticket? Did you buy @ the airport, online , travel agent? Anyhow, functioning airlines offer refund for cancelled flights but mind you, you won't get full refund. Infact you'll be very lucky to get 70% of what you paid as tax is deducted, you'll only get the base fare refunded. Start planning on buying a new return ticket. Air Nigeria is not "functioning" right now, who's gonna refund you? Call their office sha, they might have made arrangements with another airline for people like you, who knows? |
afam4eva: I was just painting a scenario...until someone changes the title or seat to "olu of warri, itshekiri axis", the man continues to be recognised as the spiritual head of warri land and itshekiri kingdom. Btw, we have greatly derailed this thread. Lol |
Nope, what caused the Warri crises in the 50's was Awo changing the title from olu of Warri to olu of Itshekiri land. The ijaws and Urhobos couldn't deal with that. |
Unfortunately Afam, there's nothing like the Amanyanabo of Port harcourt so the argument failed and died there. |
Occupants same as indigenous? Which ethnic group was in political control of warri land before, during and after the arrival of British colonisers ? Why would Awo in the early or late fifties change the title of "olu of warri" to "olu of itshekiri land" ? Chief Nana of benin river and Excravos(an itshekiri chief) was recognised by the British as the head chief of Warri land and even at his death, another chief, Dore Numa was appointed as his replacement. He too was an Itshe man. Have urhobo or Ijo ever produced an "olu of warri" ? |
@OP, how are professionals "insolete" ? I can guess! They cannot be abused physically and emotionally. They won't be there to be reminded that the air they breathe, food they and their family eat is from the employer and the day s/he leaves, she and her family would cease to exist. If you, your wife and any other randy relative or friend tries to or touches them sexually, you'll pay dearly for it, in or out of court. Be honest, would you give anyone else your child?if you wanna donate to charity or foster a child lots of home out there to help. |
@eko ile, please alert your people. Who are the touts/levy collectors from okada men @ ajose adeogun roundabout? They are constituting a nuisance and endangering motorists. Thank you |
The hat was styled to copy the wide brimmed ceremonial crown worn by Lagos kings in the past. This Adamu Orisa is the same as Adam and from where the hausa Adamu came from. In Yorubaland Adamu Orisa is a deity of the earth and is connected with Ogboni which is the mystical order of the earth.
Chief negro ! Thanks. |
Chief Negro, yes I have very strong itsekiri blood ties. I think in the late mid 60's or so, there was a booming fish and crayfish market @ the önitsha waterside. The "itsekiri" merchants were mostly women and most of them ended up married to igbo men. So many of them were married to Önitsha men cos they needed protection and free hand to do their fish biz. Who can resist an itsekiri beauty ? Lol they even have a meeting/association in önitsha ie kiri women married to Igbo men. @abagworo, ofcourse sapele na 'Kiri town. Sapele, Warri, Jakpa are proper itsekiri cities. |

debrief08: Infact in low income areas and villages, in cases of high risk pregnancy women who continue to have children the husbands are invited and even visited by local health workers (mostly members of their own community) and given information only for the men to say "God dey, my wife no go die, God go bring wetin them go chop" should they now tie down the woman and man and forcefully make them reproduce responsibly? Let us stra holding people responsible for their choices. If it is information they have itTrue in some cases . How do we hold them responsible when we are still gonna employ 'em kids as soon as they clock 10? |
debrief08: I beg to disagree, there is free family planning drugs and methods available in all general hospitals and even neighborhood family planning outlets, with support from UNFPA, some people just wouldn't accept it. There is information during antenatal and after birth, we cant be blamed if people fail to make good choices, Government cannot impose a child policy on families they give information and people make sometimes uninformed choices, any pregnant woman who says she hasn't heard of family planning in a general hospital is a liar.Debrief, talking is not same as available. I personally took someone to 3 general hospitals/health centres namely : Abule egba Health centre akowonjo Health centre , akute berger. The nurses and health officers can't remember the last time they got any supplies. I think you are concentrating on the island which is fairly ok. The health centre at Ajiran, agungi has nothing to offer. You and I know that the "people" we are talking about are mostly mainland dwellers. On your next visit to Ajah, obalende or Jakande MKT, ask the women you come in contact with what they know about FP. I'll be happy if you can drop names of the general hospices that actually have and dispense FP at free and affordable rate. Btw, do you know about the new lagos state ante-natal law for govt hospitals? You get free ante natal care only if you buy or donate a pint of blood. Topic for another day sha. |
ok. Your solution is that he should not sleep with his wife. Noted. Very funny and flawed theory. Won't even fly, I believe you know that. Our grandfathers were into polygamy, 1 man 3 or 4 wives. Each wife having 3 or 4 kids. Their were no child slave raiders then, you only need to have enough male kids to help in the farmwork. No one was interested in having a battalion of kids to be exported to lagos for a few pennies. I'm not absolving the okada man of his responsibilities, no! All I'm saying is that y'all should understand that some things are the way they are cos the society as a whole is "rotten" . |
So when you have the 4th child you stop sleeping with your wife? Nice answer! |
. . . and who are you lot to question when or how many children a couple should have ![]() The man should not do his thing again cos he's poor?we just love chasing shadows in this country or site. Big question is this : Are there free or affordable family planning centres for the poor? When was the last time y'all educated your illiterate, low end workers about family planning or child spacing? Visit our health centres, maternity homes and general hospitals which are what those folks can afford, ask for family planning or child spacing units, you'll be surprised to learn its non existing or non functioning. When you lot keep encouraging child labor by employing their kids as nannies, gardeners and making them clean your shyte for peanuts which to them are millions, why won't they breed like rabbits? What choices do they have?visit a quack and get an expired postinor 1 to 10, die on the abortionists table or use the local herbs which sometimes fail. Don't just run your mouth cos you are privileged to know, get what you want!four fingers are pointing back at us all. I've thrown open the real life situation, suggest a pratical, workable solution not nld fairytale theory. @OP, just curious, the okada man come beg you chop money? |
I'm not very sure but I think its a week long affair.its one of their biggest festivals. What they basically do is to cleanse and purify the land(of all evil) and thank the gods for a bountiful harvest. |
Now that's even more confusing, biko, what really do they do? What does the ceremony signify? Is it still in vouge? |
Biko kedunu Achi? Adabekee na blackpikin zili m Ozi ka m Zie ya. Lol |
Is uduaghan itsekiri ? One of my grannies is a 'kiri woman and honestly, I see absolutely no relationship in any form between the two group. Assuming Uduaghan is 'kiri, what would its meaning in Igbo be @OP ? |
Tosh na Maria! Maria na Tosh!! Hmmmmmn! Iwe Nwanne a naghi eru n'okpukpu. Ma ndi kwuru okwu ojoo, ma ndi a gwara agwa, unu gbaghara onwe unu. Antivirus, ya gazie. Nwe obi Nwoke. Udo chi a. |
You guys have a new date again ? Okay! |
Ms Henrietta, what's the name of this "multinational" company ? |
Johndoe100: Everything is cool, and you?Good to know. Me and mine are doing good. |
@OP, why are staying apart from your husband?was that the initial plan?aside his once a quarter visit, do you ever visit him?are you sure he's even still in business, perhaps business is bad for him now or he's living from hand to mouth?that's not an excuse for his behaviour though. You need to involve people from both families, tell them about the domestic violence and your financial issues with him too. If there are no positive changes afterwards then you should focus on saving you and your kids heads. Btw, if that neighbouring west African country is "ivory coast", I'm sorry but you man is so long gone. |
Ganys: Why the guy siddon Like Pikin wey em mama dey beg to eat Eba...hehe Not feeling the song. If he wants to remain relevant in the industry, he'll have to sit up. Nice try but I'm not impressed. |
What's the company name and what are they into? |
