A bride who stumbled got all the details of her partner’s affair alongside her husband’s cheating texts the night before she was due to marry him, decided to take drastic measures to humiliate her fiance.

Going with the pseudonym ‘Casey’, the distraught bride described how she “was hanging out in a glitzy hotel room” the night before the wedding when she says her “phone buzzed from across the room.”

According to her, she was taken completely off guard, she claims “the message was a series of screenshots from a number I didn’t recognise” followed by a text which read “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?” Though she never wanted to believe at first, however she realised “the screenshots were of conversations between my husband-to-be and another woman.” She added that there weren’t simply one or two messages but “loads of them, including selfies of the pair.”

The texts ranged from:

“This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game.”

To:

“I miss you so much, I can’t stop thinking about f***king you… I’ve never had this kind of connection before.”

“Your body is f*cking incredible. And sh*t do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do.”

Casey disclosed that her friends demanded she call off the wedding but she couldn’t think straight, so she decided to sleep on it instead. When she woke, she claims she knew exactly what to do. She would go ahead with the wedding, but instead of reading her vows she would ‘out’ Alex as a cheater, reading the texts to their family and friends.

She further disclosed that she walked down the aisle, turned to the crowd as she reached the alter and said:

“There will be no wedding today. It seems Alex is not who I thought he was.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, she said a ripple of shock went through the church before Alex attempted to grab her hands. She resisted, taking out her phone and reading the messages out loud.

The bride claimed that the colour drained from the groom’s face before he walked out of the church, his best man following him.

Thieves arrested minutes after stealing from South African native doctor.

Two suspected thieves who stole from a South African native doctor and thought no one had seen them, got more than they bargained for after they were caught by an angry mob.

The South African native doctor identified as Thandabangoma Myeza (42) was peeping through the window and watching as the thieves fled. He immediately did some incantations asking the ancestors to bust the suspects.

Within minutes the thugs were caught and mobbed by vigilant community members. The thugs were saved by cops and taken to hospital, where they’re fighting for their lives.

The happy native doctor from Spooktown in Bekkersdal, South Africa, said he was grateful to the ancestors.

He said he was able to recover all the items the thugs had stolen from his shack, as well as an exhaust pipe that had been removed from his car.

Thandabangoma said he was in bed when the thugs broke into his yard.

“I woke up and peeped through the window. I saw two men running away,” he said. “I didn’t want to chase them but went to my indumba to burn the madubula and other muthi.”

Thandabangoma said within seconds he got answers.

“Thugs shouldn’t steal from sangomas (native doctors) because they’re inviting bad luck. Look at these thugs. They’re in hospital now and in pain and will soon be in jail,” said Myeza.

Residents said they were tired of being harassed by thugs.

Bekkersdal police spokeswoman Sergeant Linki Lefakane told Daily Sun a case of theft and possession of stolen property was opened.

She said two suspects, aged 18 and 30, were admitted to Leratong Hospital.

But Lefakane urged communities to stop taking the law into their own hands.

When it comes to gospel artistes in Nigeria, Tope Alabi is one of the popular ones.

She recently trended on the Internet with her spontaneous worship song, ‘Logan Ti Ode,’ which featured songwriter and celebrity photographer, TY Bello.

The video was viewed by hundreds of thousands of people on several multimedia platforms, especially on the YouTube and Instagram pages of both singers, with many fans sharing comments of how the song inspired and moved them to tears.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, the singer revealed that she composed 16 songs on that day, insisting that they were not pre-written.

According to Alabi, many celebrities live a fake life but despite the fame she enjoys, she has made a conscious effort not to live like them.

“I still go to the market to buy groceries; I don’t like the idea of living the life of a celebrity. Sometimes when I want to go out, I take public transport. There was a day I boarded the BRT bus in Lagos to get to the popular Balogun market; I could hear the passengers whispering to one another.

“They were arguing if I was the one or not. They were saying Tope Alabi is not a poor person so there is no way she will be on a public bus. When I was about to alight from the bus, I revealed my identity to the driver, and this made many of the passengers to also get down from the bus to take pictures with me.

“Sometimes, it is necessary to have a taste of what it feels like to be an ordinary woman on the street. Many celebrities do not live their real life and are not free to do whatever they like; that is why I don’t restrict myself. When someone is not free to do what they feel like doing, like every other person on the street, it causes depression which can even lead to death.

“Some people try to sell fabric worth N20,000 to me at the rate of N100,000 because I am a celebrity; they don’t bother to find out if I have that kind of money or not. Living a fake life can lead to indebtedness as some celebrities always want to meet up to a certain standard,” she said.

Alabi explained how she enjoys going on long walks in her neighbourhood, describing it as “the kind of life I like.”

“Someone once told me to get escorts for security reasons, but I declined because I didn’t need them and still don’t need them. I am still discrete about my movement but I still live a normal life.

“I believe in buying only the things I can afford; I’m not materialistic. I always hear different stories of celebrities that lie about their material possessions; there is no need to live an extravagant life at all,” she added.

Interestingly when she was young, Alabi’s parents wanted her to become a Sister as according to her, they knew she would work for God.

A 55-year-old property agent, Bolaji Ajetumobi, has been arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court for alleged fraud estimated at N1,241,000.

He was arraigned by the police on 12 counts bordering on the crime before Magistrate Olumide Fusika.

The police said Ajetumobi connived with others at large to collect the sum of N1.2m from nine different persons on the pretext of letting out an apartment at Alaguntan area, Ajah, Lagos, to them.

It was learnt that the agent collected the sums of N150,000; N100,000; N136,000; N140,000 and N100,000 from one Bernard Effite, Okpara Kingdom, Abdul Abubakar, Thomas John and Bashir Badmus respectively.

Other victims are Davou Nyam, Okonkwo Ifeanyi, Anagor Seraphim and Peter Joseph who the defendant allegedly defrauded of N125,000, N210,000, N150,000 and N130,000 respectively.

Our correspondent gathered that Ajetumobi allegedly fraudulently collected the money from the complainants between September and October 2018.

Reportedly, the agent could not be found after the victims paid the money to him.

City Round learnt it later occurred to the intending tenants that they had been duped when some of them met at the apartment.

The case of fraud was said to have been reported to policemen at the Area J Police Command, Ajah, and subsequently, Ajetumobi was arrested.

He was arraigned on 12 counts of obtaining money under false pretence to which he pleaded not guilty.

The charges read in part, “That you, Bolaji Ajetumobi, and others now at large, sometime in September and October 2018, at Alagutan, Ajah, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did fraudulently obtain the sum of N150,000 from one Bernard Effite under the pretence to secure an apartment for him at Alaguntan, a representation you knew full well to be false, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”

The presiding magistrate, Fusika, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case till November 28, 2018.

A resident of No. 1 Obiora street and a midwife working with Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (FETHA), Mrs Florence Nwuguru, has been accused of maltreating her 12years house help Miss Miracle Nweke Jonathan to untold hunger and torture.

According to our findings, the victim is an indigene of Abaomega in Onicha L.G.A who was living with her parents at Port Harcourt before she was introduced to her madam by their pastor family friend.

In an interview with a resident of the area who does not want to appear in print described the condition of the girl as pathetic stating that she receives beatings on daily basis and always denied food in such a way that she survives with edible things secretly given to her by their co-residents.

He also alleged that the woman was fond of locking up the girl at their upstairs apartment without providing her with food an act which he said had automatically forced her into begging for food every day, mostly from those at the ground floor whom in most cases render assistance by throwing food item up for her to catch or lie in a rope for the girl to draw.

“Some residents do assist her with food but before it will get to her, it is either the throw it up or tie it in a rope for her to draw if not this measure, the girl would have died of hunger,” he said.

He also claimed that in the recent period a disgusting punitive measure was meted out on the girl by her madam where dirty wear was forced into the girl’s mouth over the allegation of stealing pieces of meat from their pot of soup.

Our source further claimed that recently, the girl experienced a severe degrading treatment from the woman adding that the girl had always been accused of being responsible for indiscriminate cries of her mistress children and as a result faces disciplinary actions often.

He also added that miss Miracle did undergo serious beating with wire over any slightest mistake of hers coupled with the fact that she had in several occasions received serious hits on her lips from heels of footwears, action through which she had been injured many times.

Mrs Nwuguru in her reaction told us that her actions were not mainly to hurt the child unjustifiably rather it was aimed at correcting her over some bad behaviour that she (victim) was exhibiting which includes stealing both in their house and outside and picking of money on the road.

She further alleged that the girl’s negative acts were too humiliating and pronounced that someone could not ignore and in order to call her to order, she then decided to flog her.

She also debunked the allegation of denying her maid food stating that the girl eats regularly.
