LegendHero: Africa gini?
How much will Africa magic generate when we are talking of reach and revenue from streaming platforms like Netflix and movie centers?
Some Nigerian movies are even being premiered in USA movie theaters now and you get the revenue in $$.
How many people watch Africa magic compared to the number on Prime/Netflix and etc?
You don’t know what you are saying walahi. Go to remote village in any part of Africa and ask about Nollywood. Igbo movies is what everybody knows as Nollywood. |

So, SW government is faced with more responsibilities than your governments, hence the debt. How can you say IGR not an economic indicator of productivity of a state? Guy, try use sense na. Five SE states is more populated than five SW states without Lagos. Be guided Nobody can tax himself into prosperity. Reason why Ogun towns remains backwards Secondly, the IGR figure you see are not there. They were squandered as they renter. So your elites taxed you to live in luxury while you perish |

LegendHero: lol Asgard, you are still living in year 2001.
This is 2023, who gives a feck about other smaller African countries when men are now taking their film to the movies, YouTube, Netflix, and other streaming platforms.
You think we are still in the era of home video or what? How much will you make by selling your CD in Congo for example when you can take in millions instantly by premiering on Netflix?
Go and check the highest grossing movies out of Nigeria, that lies your answer.
You know what gave Yoruba the edge in movie industry? It is technology and fairness. If you remove fraud from any system, it will be hard for an Igbo man to compete.
Before the outburst of Kunle Afolayan some years ago on some Igbo pirates who use fraud to game producers, pirate their CDs, and then try to gag them even at the producing side, it used to just be business as usual. When movies started to digitize, it got really hard for those fraudulent pirates to steal people life investment so things flourish coz people now go to streaming platform and movies and money get to the actual producer removing the menace of piracy. You really think every body is urban dwellers. Na Igbo movies on African Magic de penetrate local areas all over Africa |

Kingsean: I'm also from Edo state but I disagree with you on some things. About Igbos developing Lagos, you're far from reality. Igbo people are business oriented but that doesn't mean they develop a place. Igbos can be found almost everywhere on the globe but can you say they developed china, south Africa or some other places cos you see them there? look my brother, I know you didn't like the outcome of the last election. I didn't like it as well but Lagos is miles ahead of the rest. If you're blasting Yoruba people, you are indirectly blasting yourself as well because Edo people and Yorubas share the same ancestry and DNA. the language just differs. We are actually the real Lagos people. yes you can look at history. I actually thought this agberos were terrible until I got to Anambra state. the ones there are on another level. more brutal sef. in most major cities in the world, you'll see foreigners more. it is normal. it is what makes the place a metropolitan area and a business hub. think about this: if Igbos are developing Lagos and fail to develop the East, is that not senseless? See ewedu oozing out from your comments. |

Lagos is the second most unlivable city in the entire world
Lagos rated city with worst road traffic
Lagos state records abysmally low in other indices like Gross National Income per Capita, Life Expectancy, Human Development Index (HDI) Health Index, Educational Index, Income Index
He is now the president, under five months, over 180 million Nigerians have been pushed into multidimensional poverty Aba City has higher per capita income than Lagos |

IamAtikulate: They are too unexposed to understand Advanced Macroeconomics. So, I will rather not waste time with them.
They celebrate FDI without knowing that it's primary essence is technology transfer. Once a foreign direct investment doesn't fit into that aim, then it's counterproductive.
The funny thing is these guys don't even understand how dangerous building an economy on FDI is.
If Dangote makes 1 billion in Ogun, it means he has mopped up 1 billion of Ogun purchasing power.
Spending 350 million on personnel cost is like injecting 350 million of the 1 billion back to the economy.
If the company pays 350 million in taxes, that means 350 million of that 1 billion pulled from Ogun will be used to empower the FG, with a little going to Ogun.
These deductions leave the company with 300 million net profit which will be repatriated.
This means for every 1 billion profit this company makes (mopped from Ogun purchasing power), about 700 million leaves the state.
No economy will develop through this kind of capital flight.
But if the company is indigenously owned, it will mop up funds from other states it sells to and return them to Ogun.
That's why no state can match Anambra.
Peter Obi understands the dangers of overtly relying on FDI, that's why he was very strategic with his arrangements with SABmiller.
The company is the second largest Brewer in the world. When it entered Onitsha, Peter Obi bought 10% stake in the company. At least, he will retain 10% of it's capital within the state.
And that's not all.
He formed an indigenously owned brewing company, Intafact and make it a subsidiary of International Brewing PLC, a subsidiary of SABmiller.
Intafact is what brews the beer, using SABmiller technology and processes.
With this move, Peter Obi achieved both technology transfer and capital retention.
Today, Hero sells in Lagos and outside SE. Proceeds from these sales will be repatriated to Anambra and retained in Anambra. Only a few leaves as capital flight.
The fact that Ogun has so many factories but the state still looks largely undeveloped shows that they are not as industrialised as they claim.
Leaving your economy to foreigners is like skating on thin ice. Yorubas are economic iliterates |

Prince Ogunrumimire from Ife was also in the current location we call Lagos before the Benin set up a camp. Ijebus were in the current location called Lagos before the Benin set up camp. Descendants of Ogunrumimire, the Egun, and the Ijebus also dominates Lagos till date.. All of them migrated there. Non can claim ancestral indegenous people. However, Benin migrants set up the government. |

adamusuleiman1: 1. When Jakande (Kwara man) used the term no-man's-land in 1979. He was talking about the time when in 1954 the British carved out Lagos island as a Federal territory. A Federal territory that wasn't governed by any of Nigeria's tribes.
Lagos island was under the Federal Government but ikeja, surulere and other parts that form Lagos State today were under the western region by 1958. Lagos island today is now under Lagos State.
2. Oba of Lagos never said such. Fake news which has been debunked on this thread. Ikeja and surulere are shyte hole yoruba slum. Jakande the Kwara man was telling you his fellow Kwara man to buckle up and work hard because nothing will be handed over to you on a platter. He latter sold the land for building alaba market to Igbos Igbos didn't call Lagos no-man's-land as you miscreants scream during election Hear from Oba of Lagos

His maternal line is from Benin like the Oba claimed. It is not today that Yoruba kings marry female from other tribe, even Sango did it.
If Benin claimed they found lagos because they came to Lagos with Itsekiri people and Lagos people they met there gave them welcoming arm to set up their camp, it will only take a lunatic to translate that as Benin found Lagos.
Itsekiri people also went to Epe, do we now say Itsekiri found Epe? Read this

Politics › Re: Process To Designate Anambra As NDDC Oil-Producing State Begins At Senate by igwebuike01: 2:53pm On Nov 27, 2023 |
BluntCrazeMan: Na waa oo.
NDDC is Totally different from “Oil-Producing States” in meaning and in description naa..
NIGER-DELTA STATES are the States that fall within the DELTA-regions of the River-Niger,, and they have their peculiar Natural and Environmental characteristics, gains and problems..
So tell me.. If Oil is being produced in Kebbi State, does that qualify Kebbi State to be a part of NDDC.??
We must stop accepting NONSENSE in this our Country.
.. .
It's time we start asking the right QUESTIONS..
Let the NDDC be the “Development Commission” for the South-South Zone, just the way we have “Development Commissions” for the other Zones.. If there is any zone that doesn't have their own “Development Commission” yet, then their Senators and Reps-Members should push for it..
And then,, let ALL the Oil Producing States Have A New Body.. Since it is now clear that Oil is not oil found in the Niger-Delta. Anambra is sitting on the Niger unlike Akwa ibom and Ondo who has nothing to do the Niger |
