Greenarrow01: IHart.. I have been following your soap business for long now. Pls how much do you think is the minimum amount needed for production Secondly.. In places where PKC is not available.... How do one do. Imagine taking PKC and other materials from ABA to Maiduguri in far north Or do you think the paint business can be started with 500k The amount you will spend in production depends on your batch size. We don't use PKC in soap production. |

morenile168: I must say, I really enjoyed your startup, but I am a soap manufacturer though small scale not micro. Your soap price is too small for all the cost incurred. Is the soap that small, after analysing your illustration with my calculator, the ROI is very small. You are making low profit but enriching those that resell. You make #1.87 on a bar, while those that will sell will sell for not less than #50 and make nothing less than #32 naira per bar.
I have really learnt a lot from your post and it motivated me to pursue enlarging my business. Currently am building a wooden soap mold that can cut 280bars at a time. Since I have learnt from you
Let me help you as well on the costing and pricing aspect bro. My number 08136687405., You can chat me on WhatsApp, let's share knowledge. I hope you know with that your scale of production, you can make #30million profit in a year. All you need is the right ROI and still affordable soap When you get into real business, you will understand that its not about huge profit, but turnover. Go back and redo your calculation. A retailer that manages to sell 3 cartons a week with higher profit margin and me that sell 500 cartons a week with lesser profit margin can not be on the same page. I am making far far more than them. You can not compare us!!! |

1StopRudeness: The corona virus have revealed other ways of doing business with lesser staff and cost. Nobody employer ever considered working from home...now they’ve realized it’s possible.... u think bank lost money.... no..... Plenty jobs you can't do from home. If they could do it from home, no need of sacking them. Just instruct them to work from home. At most, you reduce their salary. |

I don't really get this sacking of a thing. Why don't they suspend the staff? When things return to normal, the reabsorb them. Or are they saying they will start afresh to recruit and train staff when things get back to normal? |

Your case is similar to what I experienced when I was managing a pharmaceutical company. The MD will always want me to reduce the actives and document it as standard. This started happening from my second week on the job. I insisted and never signed any of the document covering the substandard products. We fought for 1 year 3months, the man was not giving up. I tabled my resignation letter. 3 months later, I left then. |

Many things don't add up in Abia's case.
The person is over 70. How come he recorded earlier than normal?
The person was transferred to FMC from a remote village. His close associates, relatives and care givers tested negative, How did he get the virus?
The governor earlier mentioned that we have Isolation centre at Amachara, so we watched a video where the patient was being moved out of FMC to, probably, Amachara Isolation centre. How come the governor mentioned FMC isolation centre in his briefing? Do we now have the isolation centre at FMC or it was a slip of the tongue?
They were quick to release the name and address of the suspected case, but when we got a confirmed case, they didn't release their identity? Many questions seeking for answer... |

uboma: Someone who claims to be a major palm oil seller is offering to sell his at exorbitant prices.
I laugh in Swahili! Don't laugh yet. It is in villages that oil prices are down due to the fact that buyers have dropped following the lockdown. In cities, the prices are high because demand is high but supply is dropping. |

Olulinks: Jah bless your effort bro.
I'm in South West of Nigeria, I see someone who will make a lot of money in training and talking to people about business in you, don't neglect this God's given gift I see in you, it will bring you more money.
Lest I forget, I enjoy organizing seminars and workshops and there's more money in it.
I'm a serial entrepreneur and am going fully into soaping after the lockdown.
However, I observe you to be a good teacher. Your explanation and patience is top notch.
Meanwhile, don't forget to share why those moribund business stores you checked folded up and what you intend to do differently to beat that.
Just like the other guy said and I supported, it is good to go into business first and fair well then teach others than to go school to study business and try to teach others.
You feel me? More wins, bro. thank you so much for the kind words. ... you said I have that gift of training and talking to people? Actually that's one of my hobbies but unfortunately, I don't do much training as that distracts me from my main business. I avoid anything that will disrupt my supply chain as my hands are already filled. At some point in business, you will discover that it is not all about you making profit but mostly about your customers having regular supply at all time. About the moribund firms, i discovered three things that are the reasons behind their fate. Capital, management, and inconsistent product quality. Management is the deadliest of them all. |
