A Miss Universe contestant has revealed how before entering the pageant, she had planned to become a nun.

Abigail Hyndman, 22, is among the 89 young women vying for the title of Miss Universe 2012, and is also a student at the Catholic Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans – where Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament are her professors, advisers and deans.

Before ultimately deciding she did not want to join the order, however, Miss British Virgin Islands told Today.com: ‘Volunteering with them, I thought, you know, maybe this is something I could do for the rest of my life.’

The biology major, who attended spiritual retreats in preparation for joining the convent, said: ‘I really did start to fall in love with them and the work they were doing, especially their leadership in recovery from Hurricane Katrina.’

However, as well as her pageantry, her dream of having a family stopped her. ‘The biggest part of why I didn’t become (a nun) is because I do want a family,’ she explained.

She is still an active part of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament community though, and is ‘in the process of becoming an affiliate’.

‘It’s not a nun; it’s a step under,’ she said. Unlike nuns, affiliates can have their own homes and families.

Miss Hyndman said: ‘They’re almost like aides helping in the community. I think it’s probably the best fit for me, especially where I see myself in the next 10 to 15 years.’

Miss Hyndman added that skills she learned from the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament have stood her in good stead in pageant competition, which began preliminary contests last week in Las Vegas.

She said the sisters ‘were just in full support. I know they are back in New Orleans rooting for me every single day.

It is the tradition of Google to celebrate the important events and anniversaries of famous people by honouring them with a Google Doodle. Google on December 20, featured the “Brothers Grimm” with one of the longest animated Google Doodles.

The longest doodle tells the story of one of the most well known Brothers Grimm stories of Little Red Ridding Hood.

Introduction of Brothers Grimm:
The two Grimm brothers, Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859), were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, and authors who together collected folklore.

The two German brothers began collecting the best fairytales of their age. They gathered an array of stories involving princes and princesses, forests, castles and magic, but also darker sagas of cannibalism, dismemberment, murder and evil stepmothers.

They are among the most well-known storytellers of European folk tales, and their work popularized stories as “Cinderella”, “The Frog Prince”, “Hansel and Gretel”, “Rapunzel”, “Rumpelstiltskin”, and “Snow White”. Their first collection of folk tales, Children’s and Household Tales, was published in 1812.

It is a fixed story line, but doesn't make it impossible to adapt a different angle to the story. That was what I thought about the movie Snow White and the Huntsman, simple storyline set in stone but Sanders turned it into something else, adding that dark element, that made it feel like a new story.

The soundtrack alone lends that eerie feel and im curious to find out what. Kevin Costner as Clark's dad and Russell Crowe as Jor El is enough to get me excited. Nolan is an amazing director I don't think he'll fail with this one.

My concern now is, after this movie will Nolan go on to do the Justice League? Im beside myself with joy just thinking about it
