basilico:Reading that hurt my head. You think the person more dependent on that money for their business has less potential conflicts and or potential for blackmail? How do you know that the company didn't only gave him that loan because he was running for office and they knew they could leverage him? Or that there was some quid pro quo agreement between them for that loan? Why would trump seek loans outside the US? Why would a non US based company/bank give him money when US based companies would not because of his risk level? Listen, Trump could not have gotten a security clearance due to all his Financial entanglements. His son Kushner was denied a security clearance because of his finances. Trump overruled them and gave him one anyway. Fortunately for Trump, as President you are the source of security clearances. You are really not an honest broker and your arguments are intellectually dishonest. You have really gone down that rabbit hole. |
basilico:We KNOW Trump took money from companies in many Foreign countries. Is Trump compromised? |
tamudabu:Yeah he was having a ball at a Big Boy Wedding, while deciding to write tons of posts on Nairaland in between his small chops and bottles of Hennessey. Very reasonable/plausible thing to do. ![]() |
Yeah, but I wonder what Hunter Biden was doing. https://www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/2022/12/04/trump-owed-hidden-debt-while-in-office/?sh=3e239451b30e

happney65:What a coincidence that gas prices started dropping after the election. Hmmm.. On another forum I'm on, we actually had a poll as to what gas prices would be after the election. The majority thought they would drop. It's the same reason OPEC announced a decrease before the election and Putin announced he was retreating after the election. The gas industry, like OPEC and Putin was trying to make sure Biden didn't get elected. Biden should really be tougher on them. |
basilico:Media covered up the fact Hilary used a private server? Lol... Holy Revisionist History. In fact after the elections, Media figures discussed it. And it was a general consensus that they went WAY overboard on it in comparison to Trump scandals. Studies agree: Media gorged on Hillary Clinton email coverage https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_0fA16ZuNDkJ:https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/wp/2017/08/25/studies-agree-media-gorged-on-hillary-clinton-email-coverage/&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us |
BraniacX:I was just marveling at the price tag. It looks like it it's going to be an amazing plane. The first test flight supposed to be next year. Wonder if the flight will be classified as well. |
BraniacX:~$700 million per plane. |
Obrigardo:They've actually gone deeper. Bill Barr is now part of the Deep State and has been hurting Trump all along. They are saying the Special Prosecutor he appointed to investigate the Russia allegations was appointed to cover up for the FBI. Bonkers |
BraniacX:He can't. He has become emotionally and personally invested in his argument. Admitting he is wrong may destroy his psyche. So it is easier to pretend that facts that don't align with his perspective don't exist or when confronted with truths he can't ignore (Trump not being President), he makes up wilder conspiracies to rationalize the disconnection. There has been a lot of discussion in the US about it esp. concerning those who went down the "Q" rabbit hole. |
Obrigardo:Right! And all of a sudden the FBI (who hurt Clinton) became some Ultra Liberal agency out to get Republicans. Please make it make sense. lol |
feedthenation:Not only that. Trump's daughter used a personal email. Jared Kushner used a personal email. Mark Meadows his chief of staff used a personal cell phone, private email and signal account for government business. |
Obrigardo:Even deeper than that. There has never been a Democratic FBI Director. Even Democrats have appointed Republican FBI Directors. Simply because the FBI(culture/agents) is so conservative. |
wirinet:I'm with you. It's been mind boggling. Part mental illness, part lack of education, part I don't f'ning know.. The one redeeming part of Trump's presidency? Some of these people pulled off their masks and you got to see who they really were. I drew a bright line in the sand in my social circles. Had to cut some white friends who felt now free enough to share their inner racist inclinations. |
benalvino3:Do you believe news media should be censoring actual news? |
Enugurangers:Moreso Trump ran in that election to many as an unknown commodity and a stable competent outsider. Also that Clinton was part of the corrupt Washington elite, that's why the FBI announcing the investigation was so hurtful - it fit the narrative. Trump has been President for 4 years and Americans have seen his Corruption and Incompetence first hand. Good Luck convincing Americans Biden is more corrupt. |
benalvino3:This is my last post on this. There was only 1 rally during that time frame as in the US you need a permit to rally. The rally and it's White Supremacist ties were talked about weeks before the actual rally. And anyone who was there or went there understood it was a WHITE NATIONALIST rally. I'm 100% sure the FBI monitored it due the rise of White Nationalistic Terrorism in the US and 100% sure Trump understand what the rally was about. Here are the organizers of the rally. Again you need a Permit in the US to hold a rally 1.) Jason Kessler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Kessler Jason Eric Kessler (born September 22, 1983) is an American neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and antisemitic conspiracy theorist.[1][2][3] Kessler organized the Unite the Right rally held in Charlottesville, Virginia, on August 11–12, 2017,[4][5][6] and the Unite the Right 2 rally held on August 12, 2018. Kessler is a supporter of neo-Nazism,[7][8][9] far-right politics,[10][11][12] and the alt-right. 2.) Richard B. Spencer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_B._Spencer Richard Bertrand Spencer (born May 1978)[1] is an American neo-Nazi, antisemitic conspiracy theorist, and white supremacist.[2][3] A former editor, he is a public speaker and activist on behalf of the alt-right movement.[2][4] He advocates for the reconstitution of the European Union into a White racial empire, which he believes will replace the diverse European ethnic identities with one homogeneous "White identity".[5][6][7] Spencer has advocated for the enslavement of Haitians by Whites and the ethnic cleansing of racial minorities from the United States,[8] additionally expressing admiration for the political tactics of American Nazi Party founder George Lincoln Rockwell. [9][10] He was a featured speaker at the August 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, among other neo-Nazi rallies that Spencer has headlined.[11] Here is a commissioned independent review of the what happened FINAL REPORT INDEPENDENT REVIEW OF THE 2017 PROTEST EVENTS IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA https://www.huntonak.com/images/content/3/4/v4/34613/final-report-ada-compliant-ready.pdf I put those facts out to give you a background of that Trump Press Conference. This wasn't a thing that came out of the blue. It wasn't an organic rally for the statute. It was a continuation of the White Supremacy resurgence that had been growing throughout his presidency. Culminating in what we see now with Kanye and that dinner. Now Trump has a reason to try to obfuscate what happened that day (those are his supporters), ask yourself what is your reason? You should get better platforms than White Supremacist sites for your facts. |
benalvino3:The Media and HIS OWN ADVISORS beef is that he said "There were fine people on both sides". And by saying that he lent moral equivalency to White Supremacists and such. I'm asking for you to define your argument. Tell me which group of people he was specifically talking about when he said "There were very fine people on both sides". You don't seem to want to. Because you can't without sounding like someone who supports White Supremacists. So, again you bring up something irrelevant. Just so you won't rewrite History. Here is the Wikipedia entry for that rally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unite_the_Right_rally The Unite the Right rally was a white supremacist[5][6][7][8] rally that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, from August 11 to 12, 2017.[9][10][11] Marchers included members of the alt-right,[12] neo-Confederates,[13] neo-fascists,[14] white nationalists,[15] neo-Nazis,[16] Klansmen,[17] and far-right militias.[18] Some groups chanted racist and antisemitic slogans and carried weapons, Nazi and neo-Nazi symbols, the Valknut, Confederate battle flags, Deus vult crosses, flags, and other symbols of various past and present anti-Semitic and anti-Islamic groups.[24] The organizers' stated goals included the unification of the American white nationalist movement[12] and opposing the proposed removal of the statue of General Robert E. Lee from Charlottesville's former Lee Park. [22][25] The rally sparked a national debate over Confederate iconography, racial violence, and white supremacy.[26] |
basilico:1.) There are actual Black/African legacies as well, who got in by virtue of parents/siblings going there. Not saying they aren't smart, but still it's not only a White phenomena. 2.) Getting into an IVY League is actually hard. Google the average GPA and LSAT scores for Yale Law School. When I last checked the GPA was 4.2 (4.0 means you had all A's) and LSAT is 178 (Perfect Score is 180). I think the LSAT is similar to an IQ test. Very hard to deviate upward. 3.) I agree with this part though controversial: Minorities generally got in with lower scores than their white counterparts. Somewhat lower as well. This was due to affirmative action. 4.) Africans would get in also by affirmative action. So, there was beef on Campus between the African community and the Black American community. As Black Americans believed African Americans were unfairly using up slots designed for those who were the product of America's Racist Past. And I'm not saying there weren't minorities who got in with very high scores. As to Hunter Biden. I'm not sure where he graduated at YLS. But even the last person still is a YLS graduate. I think there are about 600(0.000179694% of the US population) a year or so. And just because he was reckless doesn't mean he wasn't academically smart. As I said, the prostitutes and drugs are common place on Wall St. And Lastly Bush was an idiot, but he was became President based on his connections. |
benalvino3:Trump said: There were very fine people on both sides At contention: The Media and some of his advisers calling him out for that statement arguing that there should be no MORAL equivalency between the two sides. So. let's break it down There were 2 sides by Trumps account. -One side were counter protestors. Again, Charlottesville is the home of Monticello. The slave plantation. Many of the residents believe it's still a very racist city and came out to push back against the White Supremacists being there. Some of those people came with the intent of violence to push back. By Trumps words, There were "Some Very Fine" people there. -The other side were people marching along with White Supremacists, KKK members and the ALT Right, marching in a rally set up by White Supremacists. By Trump's words there were some "Very Fine people" marching there as well. So for you to have an issue with the Media calling Trump out. 1.) You would have to believe that there were indeed "very fine people" marching with White Supremacist, KKK members, and people shouting Jews will not Replace US in a rally set up by White Supremacists. 2.) And the Media and some of his advisors (who almost quit) were wrong to challenge Trump by saying that there should never be any moral equivalency between those who march with White Supremacists and those who rally against it. Tell me which part of that argument I got wrong. 1.) Are you arguing Trump didn't say there were very fine people on both sides? 2.) Are you arguing that there actually can be "Very Fine people" who somehow found themselves walking down the street with people shouting "Jews will not Replace US", with people holding KKK flags, with people spewing racist nonsense, avowed White Supremacists and Aryan brothers in a march setup up by White Supremacists? 3.) Or are you arguing that the Media and some of his advisors beef was not with their belief of the Moral equivalency of Trump's comparison of both sides. You brought up the "Critical Thinking for Dummies" book. I'll assume you read it. So use those skills and deconstruct your argument. Answer these questions and don't bring up any irrelevant points. The discussion is simply on Trump and his very fine people comment. |
benalvino3:Good Response. You told the world who you are. Keep defending racists. Ask yourself what good person marches along White Supremacists shouting "Jews will not replace us" or the KKK? I'd guess you'd be there if you lived in the US.. Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself as a Black person or even just a human. Here are some clips of that "rally" and the period after since you are trying to rewrite history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIrcB1sAN8I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPLvWO_SOgM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F2kPRW6ZuA |
CoolUsername:No, they don't. They take pains when they decide to limit information. It goes back to people actually believing what they say they BELIEVE IN Like the Dems who fought the Arizona county to certify a Republican counties votes because they believe in everyone's vote counting. When in fact by counting those votes cost the Dems a House seat. |
benalvino3:There were two sides. On one side were people who were protesting the removal of a stature dedicated to a Confederate General; Gen. Robert E. Lee. Background: In the US, we had a civil war where southern states decided to fight because they did not want to abolish slavery. They called themselves the Confederacy. The Confederacy eventually lost the civil war. For whatever reason (the US still being a much more racist country at the time) the statues of these people who were not only traitors to our country buy wanted to own SLAVES were allowed to be put up. Virginia decided to remove them. On the other side were people who were counter protesting those people who gathered to fight that removal. So, no, I do not consider that there were good people on both sides. And no, there was no moral equivalency between both sides. If you have decided to take up violence or even march to protect a statue of a man who not only committed treason, but did so in order to continue the enslavement of black people, you are not a good person. Full stop, end of discussion. And it offends me how you sit comfortably in Nigeria and defend this. |
benalvino3:These were his comments https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmaZR8E12bs The question was simple. Who did he mean by "Very Fine People on both sides?". |
CoolUsername:Fixed it for you. Ask yourself why all these top media/information companies are run by "Democrats". It might have something to do with Dems not wanting to control or limit information. |
CoolUsername:But again, you are inferring words that noone in that video said. Read how you initially characterized the video to now what you are saying about it. Google's Mission - "Our mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful." If a candidate who relied on misinformation esp. emanating from Google' site wins. Yeah, they need to be reevaluating how they are organizing that information. And "its tactics", I assume were referring to how search results came up. It's been a big bone of contention since the 2000 election that some companies purposefully drive misinformation because it gets clicks. |
basilico:Listen, if you keep calling me out my name, I won't respond to you anymore. |
benalvino3:You don't think there is a through line from his "very fine people" comment and his meeting with Kanye and Nick Fuentes. I'm nor sure what lie you are referring to. Trump after a rally where KKK members marched and a woman died, said "there were very fine people on both sides". That was not a moment for any US president to try to rationalize anything. He should have just called out White Supremacy and said there is no place in the US for that. That is the reason people were up in arms about that comment. Any other US President would have had a moral clarity about that moment. And who do you think he was referring to when he said "there were many fine people on both sides"? |
basilico:I think you're missing the point of the Presidential Bully Pulpit. Whatever the President says has incredible power. That's why most US President's stick to a written script or are very careful with there chosen words. He should not have been on a podium jawboning about something he knew nothing about. A lot of people took his words as a SUGGETION of something they should try. And some people did try it. |
CoolUsername:Again, point to the timestamp where Google says they had a "desire to do everything within their power to control the narrative". It does not exist. You are putting your "feelings" on peoples actual words. CoolUsername:Google does not have a monopoly on search engines. Definition of monopoly (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/monopoly). Here is msn's search engine. (https://www.bing.com/). Hence, not a monopoly. CoolUsername:My words were he "suggested". And you are deliberately trying to minimize the power of his words. By talking about it during a press conference, for some that suggestion had the power of the President and US Government. And here let's look at real world data. Accidental Poisonings Increased After President Trump's Disinfectant Comments https://time.com/5835244/accidental-poisonings-trump/ And Lysol had to release a statement "Under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route)." None of this is normal! You seem to purposefully miss the point. People were tired. Tired of things like this. Look at this topic and what we've been talking about. Trump's dinner with Kanye. He's not even President and he's exhausting. |
basilico:Listen, Hunter Biden went to Yale Law School. The top Law School in the US, and probably the World. Their graduates are sought after in any industry. He could have done anything he wanted, Clerk for a justice, made Partner at a Wall Street Law Firm, went into consulting at a place like McKensie or Bain, worked in Finance (i-Banking or Private Equity). Any career choice he made he would have done very very well. Esp. with his contacts. And FYI, you may not understand this, but at a certain level your contacts are what matter. Look up Blake Masters and tell me how he made his money. He has a JD but is running Thiel Capitol. |
CoolUsername:That is a 1 hour video. Point to the specific part you are talking about. And as you do, explain to me how you believe that is any worse than anchors (Hannity and Ingraham) at a news network controlled by Rupert Murdoch who owns other news networks around the world, basically would call Trump and discuss what they would say on their shows? CoolUsername:Help me understand what specific part of that you thought would have swung the election? I think you have a very short memory or don't live in the US so can't understand the conditions during that election. The US was basically at a crossroads. Thousands were dying daily from Covid, Trump had just caught covid and lied about it, he was acting erratic like suggesting people drink bleach to kill covid. People were tired. Tired of all the drama, the endless drama and chaos. People wanted a change, that is why so many people came out to vote. Biden is a known commodity, he has been in office for about 40 years. Was the Vice-President to Obama. Even Republicans will admit it's hard to hate him. So, your argument is that a report about Biden's son's sex life or some purported shady business with his father would make people not vote for Biden? And those same people would vote for Trump who was impeached for basically coercion against Ukraine and who was on camera saying he would grab woman by the PUS*Y. Please make that make sense to me. |

, just excellent from a technical and tactical POV of course, but it isn't my country so I can afford to ignore the cons in favour of the pros
