SlyFoxx4Life:1.) Poverty Mentality? Right. FYI, Prior to the Pandemic I had decided to relocate full time to Lagos for a gig (in fact, if you can afford it, the Lagos lifestyle(cooks, drivers, house help, security etc.) is more envious than a US one). So, no, living in the US isn't manna from God for me, just trade-offs. Now tell me, why did you leave Nigeria again.. if where you are now isn't a big deal? 2.) So tell me, have you been to the US? Have you studied the US? What topics, where? Go ahead. 3.)So, you're more enlightened than a slowpoke? Not sure that's something to be bragging about. Lol |
Obrigardo:LOL.. I hear you. I'm still concerned. What Judge Cannon did was such an extraordinary unprecedented intervention that the appeal had to be a slam dunk. So, not sure what it really says or what would happen on a matter that isn't this extraordinary. But, the courts(even the Trump appointed judges) have held firm on all his election nonsense, so there is that. But the Congress needs to readjust the Courts. This type of case shouldn't take months or even years (Trump Tax case) to reach a conclusion. Just allowing Congress to see Trump's taxes took 3 years. There has to be a streamlined fast process with cases involving disputes between Congress and the President or and ex-President and the Executive branch. Esp. with a man like Trump who uses the system to delay and obstruct. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Don't bother. This isn't a real discussion. This is me correcting you and I'm tired. I gain nothing from you as a poster. |
SlyFoxx4Life:As I've told you, you don't live in the US, have never studied US History, Civics or Government and don't have an iota of understanding on US Government, Us Agencies or US Law whether it be State Law or Federal Law . You don't even have an understanding of how we file our Taxes. 1.) Federal Audits take take time to complete. Esp. ones as complicated as Trumps, if I recall thousands of pages long. If an audit was started the second Trump came into office, which it most likely wasn't, it would probably have been completed once Trump's IRS head came in, if that. In fact Trump admitted his audit still wasn't completed 2 years into his presidency. The IRS has been woefully underfunded. Even individual taxes from last year still haven't been processed and people are STILL awaiting their tax refunds (money) from taxes they filed in Jan. 2022. 2.) In the US we file State and Federal income taxes. Trump filed both a NY state Tax Return and a US Federal Tax Return. The AG of NY Tisha James by LAW DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER to bring a criminal lawsuit for his taxes on her own for the State violations. The easier option was the civil lawsuit which will in all practical effect dissolve the company. She did in fact refer the potential criminal violations to Federal Investigators(US Attorneys in Manhattan) and yes the IRS Criminal Division. https://www.fox5ny.com/news/donald-trump-lawsuit-vs-criminal-charges As I keep telling you. You have 0 understanding about what you are talking about. Just enough to sound stupid and spread misinformation. You sound like a child who isn't aware of how little they know, trying to lecture adults. Stop typing and mothing off and do ALOT more reading and learning about the US. Your hubris is spreading false information with every post. And I'm tired of being a vacuum, cleaning up your mess. What's the expression... Empty barrels make the most noise. |
feedthenation:Unprecedent? Every president from Nixon (Ford released a tax summary) has released their Tax Returns. This is simple food for the his uneducated base. Note: Edited to be fully accurate. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Do you ever get tired of being wrong? New York's attorney general says Trump's company misled banks, tax officials https://www.npr.org/2022/01/19/1074000357/new-yorks-attorney-general-says-trumps-company-misled-banks-tax-officials And FYI. The head of the IRS during the Trump presidency was Trump appointed. And honestly that is the reason we have separation of powers and the ability for one branch to be a check on the other. So President appointed heads of agencies have some oversight. Again, you don't know how any of this works. Just stop pretending you do and flooding this site with false information. It's unfair to other people who read this site for REAL information. Take a US history/Civics class if you really do care. |
Obrigardo:Yeah, it's going to be a quick 3-0 ruling. The court didn't seem pleased to even be there having to make a ruling on such an absurd judicial overreach by Judge Cannon (another Trump pick). They are going to shut down the special master going over the documents. If you're interested in US Law and Courts. Here's the full hearing on C-SPAN. I listened to it during lunch. It's about 30 minutes long. https://www.c-span.org/video/?524393-1/federal-court-hears-case-mar-lago-seized-dcouments It's said, "If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell." Trump's attorney yelled like hell. |
SlyFoxx4Life:The question isn't the access. The question is if the President's audits were done properly. Given the fraud that has been found in his NY taxes, Congress has the right to see his taxes to ascertain whether the IRS has been properly auditing presidents taxes and create new laws if not. |
basilico:This is an asinine post. You didn't debate what the hill reported. Your post was purely ad-hominem. If you disagree with what they wrote, google it and post something different. You have a whole internet of information at your disposal. Doesn't this schtick get boring? |
benalvino3:Half the story. The full story is that Republicans who lead some Arizona Counties are delaying certifying their county elections for some clearly political reasons. https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/3745387-two-arizona-counties-delay-certification-of-2022-election-results/ Cochise County, a Republican-leaning area in the state’s southeastern corner, delayed its certification on Friday after three conspiracy theorists claimed the county’s vote-counting machines were not properly certified. ... Arizona Elections Director Kori Lorick refuted the allegations at Friday’s meeting, detailing that although the labs used to test voting machines did not receive updated certification ahead of the midterms, the U.S. Elections Assistance Commission had confirmed they were in compliance. Lorick called it an “administrative error.” ... In Mohave County, which is located in Arizona’s northwestern corner, the five Republicans who comprise the Board of Supervisors delayed their certification of the county canvass in a split vote on Monday. |
ono:You do know the Republicans control Georgia. So, everybody is going to cheat to hurt Trump even Republicans? The same Republicans that somehow allowed the Dems to cheat so they didn't win the midterms. And the same Republicans who couldn't cheat enough that Herschell Walker didn't fully lose the first time. So, your argument is to get rid of in person Sat. voting that helps long lines on election day? Or do you think we should get rid of voting all together and just pick a leader? Honestly, why would anyone be against more voting? Really, you should at least flush out a more coherent Conspiracy Theory. Yours seems rather lazy. Be a dedicated crazy person at least. |
This should tell you everything you need to know about Republicans and their view of Democracy. The Republican led Georgia government is appealing to stop early voting this Sat. for the Special election after they lost in district court. Georgia appeals decision allowing early voting this Saturday in Senate runoff https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/3744946-georgia-appeals-decision-allowing-early-voting-this-saturday-in-senate-runoff/ |
ono:1.) If you read my post you would know that I was delineating between voters in the Republican party. That 70mil you quoted are Republicans who voted for trump. A lot with their noses held who voted for the Republican nominee because they are Republicans. How many of those would support Trump in a primary? Or even still support him? 2.) But you knew all that. I assume you're one of those Trump Supporters I was speaking about. |
raumdeuter:Special Prosecutors are independent. No timeline. Though in this case I'm sure he will be aggressive and try to get done early enough before the 2024 election season begins simply for the optics of indicting Trump in the midst of it. My bet would be he's be done in the middle of next year. But there are two wildcards. 1.) Look for Donald Trump to drag it out as much as possible. Appeal anything he can up to the Supreme Court. Delay is his friend. And the US courts aren't setup for quick rulings. 2.) The Special Prosecutor can also look into any ancillary issues that arise. And given it's Trump, who knows what may wiggle out. |
saxywale2:For reasons best known to him? I think we all know why he is running. I was 100% sure he would run when he lost because of it. He is about to be indicted. The only chance he has of not going to trial is if he makes it into the White House before the trial. And there's nothing more dangerous than a cornered crazy person who only cares for himself. Gonna grab my popcorn and watch as he burns down the Republican party to try to save himself. |
If DeSantis is in a primary with Trump. Desantis can not and will not beat Trump. I've said it here first. 1.)Trump supporters are generally mentally unstable. Reason and rationality don't enter their ear. Look at those on this forum. It's a religion to them. They live in a world of make believe and cognitive dissonance. They will walk over coals to vote for him. Though a smaller percent of the electorate, in a primary enthusiasm is what matters. 2.)DeSantis is weird and not charismatic. The DeSantis image you see daily is controlled and manufactured. Just watch his debate with Crist to get a glimpse of who he really is. Trump will eat his lunch in a Republican primary debate. |
blueAgent:Negative. It is written by the Trump Administration who was "The Government" at that time. Check out WhiteHouse.gov. That is Biden's page. In the US, we don't have a "Whitehouse Press" as that would be state news. We do have a Whitehouse Press corps which includes members of the press (CNN, Fox etc). They did not write this site. It was archived by the National archives, which archives all public records, which that website is. The National Archives do not judge the veracity of the site or any documents they archive. What you see on that site is what Trump wants to put out to the world. No-one is going to check the veracity on what he puts on that site. And honestly, you read that site and it sounded to you like it was written by a neutral press organization? |
blueAgent:So, your point is, don't believe lying CNN, but we should just believe whatever Trump says? Does that make sense to you? As I said, go to Trump's site and for each of those accomplishments he listed, just paste them into google and do some reading of your own. Ex. His first claim: America gained 7 million new jobs – more than three times government experts’ projections. Just google: "American job growth under Trump" and pick some headlines. Here are a few from the first page of results. Trump to leave office with the worst jobs record since Herbert Hoover https://fortune.com/2021/01/11/us-economy-jobs-numbers-trump-compared-past-presidents-worst-record-since-hoover/ Fact check: Chart of job growth by president shows historic unemployment under Trump https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/11/06/fact-check-pandemic-unaccounted-presidential-job-growth-chart/6177339002/ Trump will have the worst jobs record in modern U.S. history. It’s not just the pandemic. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/01/08/trump-jobs-record/ Or are those sites lying? I'm not asking you to believe me, CNN or Trump. Do your own research, look at the data/charts and believe yourself. And I guarantee you CNN will come closer to the Truth than anything Trump says. Ex. I did this with this "US was energy independent under Trump because of his Policies" narrative. Wanted to understand what it was about because it was suspicious because oil companies take a while to produce more oil and so I was doubtful his polices had any real effect. So I went to the government bureau's site that is responsible for monitoring the data (https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=mcrfpus2&f=m) and checked out the numbers. And as I suspected the narrative was suspect. 1.) Oil production has been increasing before Trump took office. 2.) Oil production dipped during the Pandemic because no was driving. 3.) Oil production was close to the same rate it was in the Biden Admin as it was under the Trump administration and will probably be a record in 2023. 4.) And so the "energy independence" was largely because we were producing more than we used because the US was in a Pandemic. 5.) The reason gas prices were higher is because Trump negotiated a deal with OPEC+ to reduce oil production, because gas prices had gotten too low during the pandemic (people were in Lockdown) and the US oil sector couldn't survive with those prices. Imagine President Trump complaining about increased gas prices when it's something he negotiated. But that's the genius of Trump. His lie is quick and easy, but to the explain the truth is too long to fit in a quick sound byte. And too complex for "liberal media" to really explain. |
blueAgent:You made the statements. Why are you asking me for backup? Prove the statements you made. No: he did not reduce illegal immigration. I already gave you the study No: his policies did not boost the economy and create jobs. President's economy are measured during their 4 years. If you use that metric he had one of the worst economies of any President. Here are some good charts and good reading. Look at the Trend lines and then look at Trump's economy. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-45827430 |
blueAgent:Here is a good example. This is CNN's fact check of his Presidential Announcement speech. Now, you don't have to believe CNN. Just take the lies they mention and research them yourself (find numbers and studies). Fact check: 20 false and misleading claims Trump made in his announcement speech https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/15/politics/fact-check-trump-announcement-speech-2024/index.html |
blueAgent:Yes, he never built that wall and Mexico never paid for it. Trump was more propaganda than actual policy. He would say things repeatedly that weren't true and have people believe them. You're welcome to proof me wrong with metrics. |
blueAgent:I have Googled and do know the answer. The question was what were you basing your argument on. Because there are no metrics that justify your position. Here's one study on Immigration. I'm sure you can find similar on the rest of your "points". President Trump Reduced Legal Immigration. He Did Not Reduce Illegal Immigration https://www.cato.org/blog/president-trump-reduced-legal-immigration-he-did-not-reduce-illegal-immigration |
Otobong3374:Huh? What did I just read? Lol.. Nice coherent post there. Lol. Was that a reply or did you just bang on your keyboard as fast and as hard as you could? Lol. Get your rage under control. Don't need to even insult you, your own post does that for me. It's the best mirror of who you are. Lol |
Otobong3374:This is a good example of (I don't even know what to call you) - Nigerians who support Republicans. It seems the vast majority are unstable, self loathing and in need of Psychiatric care. Are there any rational Nigerians on this board who don't need psychiatric care? |
Otobong3374:Black Monkey ke? I assume you're a black Nigerian. Either way, by your response, your love for all things MAGA is self explanatory. If Black - Self Hate. If a non-Black - Racism. The answer is that for minorities America is Greater in the future when we are more fully allowed the rights of citizenship that we were denied during slavery, during segregation and during post segregation Racism. But for white men who are scared of losing power America was always Greater in the past. Hence Trump's Make America Great Again. |
blueAgent:How did he do any of that? Name specific policies and metrics. And what does any of that have to do with preventing Nigerians from coming to the US? |
If anyone wants a good understanding of who Republicans really are. Watch this Bill Barr(Trump's Attorney General) clip where he's talking about whether Trump will be indicted. Party always over Country.
|
Otobong3374:Question. What date was American Great? Give me a year. What date was it great for people that look like you and I.. Black people. What date was it good for woman? Give me some years so I can understand what you mean by Make America Great Again. |
blueAgent:Enlighten me, what were the American interests he was putting first? |
Ladyhippolyta88:Thought this from the get. Didn't make sense for a Liberal justice or clerk to leak it. They would have wanted it released as close to the election as possible to keep it in the forefront of people's minds. |
benalvino3:Riddle me this, if you haven't lived in Nigeria, haven't studied in Nigeria, and aren't' involved in the Nigerian political system, how detailed could you really be about Nigeria politics? Outside of reading about it, how could you even understand first hand the culture or the machinations on the ground? Where is this expertise springing from? Or do you believe you can learn and experience someone's culture by reading about it? I would not and do not opine on most Nigerian Political issues; I listen and learn. That's ok. Not everyone can be an expert or have a deep understating on everything. And I can't spend the requisite time necessary to do so. And so, I generally assume people won't speak unless they have a deep understanding of a topic of which they are speaking about or qualify their statements as such. But this new MAGA/Repuhblican culture diminishes education, study and expertise and so everyone becomes an expert on everything. A Texas man cannot ask me to shut up about their massacre because the massacre is a GENERAL US issue regarding readily available Assault weapons and the resulting preparation and readiness of Police Officers who have to walk into the uncertainty of death when faced with people who have greater fire power than them, the greater repercussions to society and the policies surrounding it. These policies were talked about decades ago after Columbine. Police are supposed to enter IMMEDIATELY, putting their lives at risk and STOP the shooter. That was what was so egregious about what happened. Especially when children called 911 saying they had dead classmates in the classrooms and the police still waited 30 minutes. In fact, Biden campaigned on it in the midterms and it has been a NATIONAL issue for years. But, isn't this the point I'm making. I'm not sure how much you understood about the Texas Massacre, but if you truly followed the issue you wouldn't even have attempted to make that point you tried. But, I'll continue to do me, growing my knowledge base from knowledgeable people. You continue to get your information or most likely your mis-information from whomever you see fit. |
I think I've come around to the Special Prosecutor. A distinct upside is that having a Special Prosecutor limits what information the DOJ would have to give to the House or Senate about the investigation. That is probably worth it alone given who is in the House with subpoena power. |
