basilico:1.) I've been in the US since I was 5. Studied diverse subject matter (from Huminites to Astro Physics) at excellent schools. And there is just so much I'm still understanding about the US History, law and culture. You haven't been to the US, I assume haven't formally studied its histroy, don't have an inkling about it's laws and don't understand the culture fully, yet are parroting sites from people who probably wouldn't let you (I assume you're a Black Man) date their daughter. Make that make sense. 2.) You live in Nigeria, in the midst of Economic(changed Dollar at 900 two weeks ago) and Security turmoil and yet you're investing so much time/energy posting about the US, a country you've never been to? Make that make sense to me. |
basilico:I could tell based on the things you write. Have you ever been to the US? |
basilico:Question: Do you live in the US? FYI, there was no verified laptop. Pro Tip. Google "chain of custody." Once the laptop torched other hands and other people started accessing the files, the chain of custody was broken. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Do you even live in the US? Everything you write sounds like someone who gets all their info from Fox News as to what the US is. For the umpteenth time Mueller did not conclude there was no evidence of collusion. Collusion isn't even a legal term for him to conclude that. Mueller said, the investigation "did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities". "Did not establish" doesn't mean there was no evidence. I know this is all too complicated for you. But the words they use have legal significance. You are drawing inferences from that statement that don't exist. And the reason they could not go forward was because of all the cases of Obstruction of Justice he meticulously laid out in the report. But it wasn't Mueller's job to charge Trump on those. He gave the report to Bill Barr and Barr lied about what was in it and made up some BS reason not to charge him. As I said pull out the report and read it yourself. Don't rely on the on the rehashing of a Right wing commentor. And lastly Trump was President. In the US they don't want it to even seem like they are going after an Ex-President for politics. So, Ex-Presidents get wide latitude. And most President's don't abuse that latitude, but Trump is a walking crime syndicate. And Democrats especially believe in Justice and the Legal System to their detriment. Also, Garland has a balancing act. His job is both to protect the US Laws but also being an Executive branch official, to protect the powers of the Office of the Presidency. So, Garland is being even extra careful. 1.) To not seem like he is going after an Ex-President, but at the same time making sure sure Justice is served. And 2.) also to not doing anything that sets a precedent that diminishes the power of the Presidency. But you would know any of this if you lived in the US or knew anything about US History or it's culture. But I'm done schooling you on the Russian investigation until you actually read it. Let me know when that is. It's not hard reading. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Someone took his laptop and made it public. Maybe that's how politics are done in Nigeria, but here in the US we don't crucify the Father for the sins of the son or vice versa. What you are doing is nasty. Esp. given what happened to his family. He lost his mother and sister in a car crash in 1972. Then he lost his brother to brain cancer in 2015. That kind of stuff messes with anybody. And here you are dragging him for entertainment. I thought you were part of the Christian party. Yeah, you really wear your faith well. That was sarcasm in you missed it. You and everything you stand for are a blight on humanity. |
Double Post |
benalvino3:Trump's son does cocaine, and you don't think he did weekend trips to hook up with prostitutes? The hypocrisy in this is that you don't even have to look at Trump's kids. Trump himself had sex with a Porn Star who he paid, without a condom while his wife was Pregnant. Trump has talked about all his sex rampages when he was younger. The man who has had 3 wives. This is the nonsense in all this. You are trying to trash Biden's Son(who isn't running for anything) for behavior you find acceptable in Trump. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Honestly, I'm not ok'ing this, this is part in parcel with being young, having money and living in that World. I've been to parties where guys were doing cocaine off naked women laying on tables. Or been on international trips with friends having sex with multiple prostitutes in adjoining rooms. Even when in Lagos, the stuff that goes down is worse than those images. The problem is that he took it too far(he had a serious drug problem) and got caught. But, why would Republicans want to air this? Would anybody want the business of their wayward child made public just to attack them? This is some despicable sh*t. |
SlyFoxx4Life:You linked an article about the investigations into Trump. I wasn't sure what point you were trying to make with it. You somehow got the impression that because there were 30 investigations they were somehow persecuting him. The problem is that those 30 investigations weren't enough. Trump is a criminal. He ran the Government like it was a criminal investigation breaking norms and laws. And he basically dared anyone to stop him. This week alone we heard that his OWN chief of staff said Trump asked the IRS to open investigations into his political enemies. His OWN chief of staff. He said that Trump wanted the IRS to audit Trump and McCabe, two people Trump routinely criticized. It aligns with what we had already learned. Comey and McCable were selected for INTENSE IRS audits. Something very rare. Out of 153 million people who file taxes, the IRS selects 5000 a year to do this intense audit. https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/3733775-trump-requested-irs-probes-of-comey-mccabe-john-kelly-tells-nyt/ This week we also learned that Foreign government officials spent 750,000 on Trump's DC Hotel. It's illegal(written in the constitution) in the US for the President to receive emoluments form foreign governments. https://www.npr.org/2022/11/14/1136682162/foreign-officials-750-000-dollars-trump-hotel-dc Here's a primer on the emoluments clause in the Constitution https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/emoluments_clause Those are two new things the Justice Dept will have to look at this week alone. The only thing good that came from him being President is I hope people have learned that we have to enshrine our Norms as Law. And we have to elect people who won't be afraid to go after criminal presidents. |
Ladyhippolyta88:That's who Democrats are. They genuinely believe in the ideals they speak about. The come into politics to actually make the word a fairer, just place. They deliberate everything, weigh decisions and get paralyzed by it. It makes them weak especially around Bullies. So Garland is being deliberative, debating the consequences of indicating Trump, going through the process, making sure he is being especially fair to Trump. If the shoe was on the other foot and this was Bill Barr, he would have already indicted Biden. I understand it, but when dealing with people like MAGA Republicans, they just see weakness. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Russia wasn't a hoax. The Republican Led Senate committee came to the same conclusions and put out a report on it. Mueller, who was the Special Prosecutor and who was appointed by Trump's DOJ came to the same conclusion. Mueller is an ex-FBI Director and REPUBLICAN. Bill Barr twisted the conclusion of the Mueller report in a deliberate attempt to help Trump. Unfortunately, it worked. Trump's son worked on his campaign and was in touch with Russians trying to dig up dirt on Hilary. Again, he became involved and was asked for testimony because he WORKED for the Campaign Biden's son didn't. Again, you don't have to believe me. Download the Republican Led Senate investigation into it. And download the Mueller Report. READ THEM. But, you won't, you'd rather get your information from Twitter/Facebook Memes and repeat and spread propaganda. Replying to you is exhausting. I have to repeatedly correct all your misinformation. This is why I think America is screwed despite this election. Too many people like you who'd rather think with their emotions than facts. |
benalvino3:Do you live in the states? The FBI is known for being a highly conservative Institution/culture. From the leadership to the type of people who work there. That is why even Dem Presidents appoint Republicans as Directors. In fact I believe there has NEVER been a Democratic FBI Director. The last 3 fully appointed FBI Directors spanning 2 Decades Robert Mueller - Republican James Comey - Republican Chris Wray - Republican The argument that they are biased to Republicans when they are run largely by Republicans is nonsense. The problem is that GOP criminality has become so rampant, it's hard to ignore. But this is part in parcel of the victimhood culture of the new GOP. I'm seeing a trend on this board. Most of the people supporting Republicans seem to have little knowledge of the US political system/government. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Maybe they can investigate the 2 Billion Dollars Saudi Arabia actually gave Trump's Son in Law who was an actual Advisor to his father, you know a Govt. employee. The Dems investigated the only attack on the Capital ever and in return the Republicans want to investigate the son of a President who isn't in government and has never ran for a political office. The problem is that the Republicans aren't scared of Democrats holding them to that same standard (look how delicately they treated Ginni Thomas). I wonder what we would find if we looked at the children of all the Republicans who want to do this. We already know the hypocrisy that abound during the Bill Clinton investigation. The Republicans didn't learn anything after this midterm. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Ahahahaha 1.) Did you even watch the video you linked? She literally says "Conservatives strive to PRESERVE institutions focusing on stability and continuity." 2.) Yes, conservatives did want to conserve Slavery, hence the Civil War and the Confederacy. And as a black person stanning for Conservatives and Republicans you should know about it's history. 3) As to the Language. I hope you do understand the etymology of a word is it's path from past meaning to current meaning. FYI: I studied Latin for years. Not a debate you're going to win. SlyFoxx4Life:So this sentence is gibberish and shows you have 0 understanding of what etymology means. Try googling it again. But let's be done with this. You should probably have your argument with Meriam Webster. This is how they define conversatism, conservatism noun con·ser·va·tism kən-ˈsər-və-ˌti-zəm 1 capitalized a : the principles and policies of a Conservative party b : the Conservative party 2 a : disposition in politics to preserve what is established b : a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change specifically : such a philosophy calling for lower taxes, limited government regulation of business and investing, a strong national defense, and individual financial responsibility for personal needs (such as retirement income or health-care coverage) 3 : the tendency to prefer an existing or traditional situation to change religious conservatism cultural conservatism |
SlyFoxx4Life:Lol.. You keep proving my point about the depth of your thought. Pro tip. Always just start by defining the meaning of the actual word or finding it's etymology. And then trace how the meaning of the word could have evolved if it did. Ask yourself when Conservatives started calling themselves Conservatives, of all the words they could have chosen, why did they choose "Conservative"? That should have been the first tip for you. Then when you're done with the word study go read up on Edmund Burke and what he believed the principles of conservatism were rooted in. I'm sorry, the worst part of this, is you don't even know how little you know. |
Russia done fuxed up. There has to be some sort of response since it killed some Polish citizens. If I were Russia, I would negotiate for them to just destroy the location that the missile was launched from. Russia does not want to face NATO. And I'm sure China and Iran wants no part of a Russia facing NATO. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Is that all? I thought you would finish me? lol. But alas you don't have the wherewithal for that. Edit: But this post is interesting. And explains what I said about your lack of critical thinking. It's two contradictory ideas in one post. Are you arguing that the US was terrible in the past of will be terrible in the future? Really confused. And furthermore, if it was terrible in the past, why are you a conservative? You understand that conservatives want to keep the past and all it's terrible ideas, right? |
basilico:Lol. The GOP (Senate and House) had an opportunity to vote for a select committee like the 9/11 committee, they voted that down. McCarthy's hand picked negotiator negotiated a 1/6 committee with the Dems. Last minute they pulled out. So Pelosi set up her own committee and who did McCarthy decide to put on it? Two people who the committee was most likely to call as witnesses. So Pelosi said no to them. So instead of assigning other people, McCarthy pulled out. Now a reasonable person would read all that and say the GOP was not serious about the committee and had every intent to try to make sure it failed. Why would they want it to fail? Because the GOP knew quite well that a lot of prominent Republicans were culpable in what happened (the Supreme Court Justices wife Ginni Thomas being one),. And that if they gave any independent committee criminal Subpoena power (select committee) they would be in trouble. But you, Not being quite reasonable, wrote what you did above. Again, History will trash the GOP for this period. Instead of impeaching Trump either of those 2 times, they tripled down on him and here we are now. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Oh, you're going to swear and curse me and show how much of an internet tough guy you can be? Lol. As if you words would have an iota of significance in my life. |
basilico:Very maturely written. Not, what has she done for the country or how can a disfunction GOP govern, your concern is how the woman sounds? She's probably been one of the best Speakers in History. In fact when the GOP was in the majority and their members were doing the crazy they do so well, Boehner would have to call her to help count votes to pass important legislation like the dept ceiling. |
basilico:This may be complex for you, but what is the significance of that win? House seats are only 2 years long. These seats were won in mid-term election where less people vote. There is a general election in 2024, and being a General more people will vote. The seats Republicans flipped in states like NY, they will most likely have a hard time retaining in a General Election year. So the Representatives who won those close seats are going to have to be more middle of the road if not closer to the Dem side in order to try to hold those seats. So, good Luck to them in really trying to really push back on Democrats. And Good Luck to McCarthy in his attempt to get elected. Some newly elected members have already started pushing back on all the Republican BS investigations, saying the were elected to govern and not waste time. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Wow. You ae not well. You know the secret behind Most Republican Leaders, they don't believe the BS that they peddle. It's a grift. They depend on the gullible and foolish to line their pockets. The simple question is which one are you? |
MelesZanawi:Ahhahahahahahahah. You picked the wrong person. When I say female friends who make more than me, I'm talking about I have a couple of female friends who make 1 million Dollars PER YEAR and more. The type of women who when we hang out they pick up the bill over your objections. The fact you don't think women can be successful speaks volumes about the women you have around you. As I said to you, diversify your circle. |
MelesZanawi:Don't embarrass yourself. I know plenty of women who make multiples of me and I do well. Diversify your circle my friend. |
sanpipita:Right. And even worse, the so called "mainstream media" takes it cues from the Republican controlled media and actually push their messaging. because they are concerned about being called biased. |
budaatum:Yeah man, was an enlightening experience. I had never seen white generational poverty before. Not the white immigrant transient city type. Deep poverty esp. in W. VA. and N.C. I can see why the GOP blame rhetoric is sooo effective. But, the language was also so weird. In general, Dem states give more to the Fed government in taxes than they get back in Fed Aid(Roads and Bridges, Medicare, Welfare, etc.) and Republican states usually get (take) more Federal Aid than they give via taxes. But somehow these very poor people believe they are the ones giving to these Dem States. But the Dems, actually believing in helping people, still fight for programs(like free community college to help coal workers in VA transition to Solar Energy jobs) that largely help these poor states. Yet these people still attack the policies and vote Republicans. Amazing. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Do you hear yourself? Do any of your posts sound civil? Don't you feel ashamed that you admit to waking up in the AM, turning on a VPN so that you can post on a forum where you were banned? Besides being depressing, isn't it exhausting? I can imagine most people here criticize you because your posts are generally filled with broad generalizations, spurious logic, as Kellyanne Conway would say "Alternative facts", and talking points from Internet Memes. |
sanpipita:Exactly. Republicans have spent a generation building up great propaganda networks and denouncing education. So their voters generally vote against their own self interest because they are told to. When H. Clinton ran for president, I took some vacay time and decided to volunteer for her campaign in NC. Because I generally don't vacation in the states, always fly somewhere else, I decided to drive from MA to NC just to get a better understanding of the US. I did the trip in 3 days, linking up with friends in various cities. While I was driving I decided to listen to some talk radio, learn something along the way. Unfortunately most of the stations were conservative leaning. Holy Sh*t, By the end of the trip, I almost believed Hilary was the Devil herself. I don't even fully blame Republican voters. The Republican party is grift. Some leaders hustle their voters to make money and in order to keep them they offer incendiary speech which keeps them angry and coming back. Look at Alex Jones and what he does to hawk his supplements and whatever crap he's selling. At some point the Dems are going to have to confront it. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Are you well? This post is dripping with misogyny. You might do better posting to one of those incel forums. Honestly, you do write as if you are reasonably educated. But, your lack of critical and deductive reasoning skills betray that you are still an intellectual lightweight trying to be pretend you are more. |
SlyFoxx4Life:Did you just get into US politics? Everything you write sounds like a regurgitation of poor Twitter memes. My advice, think deeper, diversify your reading sources, think more critically and ask more questions about some of the things you hear so you won't continually sound like an idiot. A couple of factual problems in your post. 1.) Florida has been trending Red for some time. It hasn't been the biggest swing state in awhile. In fact there has been a debate whether to spend less money there and more on states like Arizona, Georgia and NC. 2.) Crime. The crime rate started going up under Trump. In fact Crime is disproportionately higher in Red States than Blue. This has been a messaging problem for Dems. But this is the problem with Republicans. You really can't define any concrete policy, you really have no answers, you just keep regurgitating the same talking points or lies, no matter how contradictory. I'll ask you again, name one policy Republicans have enacted that has benefited the US in the last 50 years. |
SlyFoxx4Life:The Dem rational behind the 2022 election, that of the 2020 election and the reason Republicans lost seems to have went over your head. Trump IS the PARTY. And his brand of politics (coined by Biden as EXTREME MAGA) needs to be defeated. DeSantis is an extension of that. |
SlyFoxx4Life:And your proof that you don't have a Trump problem is that you've moved on to DeSantis? What is his claim to fame again? Oh yeah, he's "Like Trump". In fact he only initially won Florida because all his ads were about Trump. Until Republicans move on from the faux populists, rage and hate driven politics, they will continue to lose. But seeing your posts and all the anger, cursing, rage and faux intellectualism you seem to perfectly fit into a party that by default hates people who have your skin color (I'm assuming your Black Nigerian). Good work. You're like the intellectual for idiots. |
