Then I realized that Judge Cannon blocked the release of the 2nd volume of the Jack Smith's report and put a gag order on Jack Smith regarding that case..
That volume deals with the Classified documents case.

The Republicans must feel that the Documents case is so damaging, that they'd rather have the hearing now when Jack Smith can't talk about the report nor the case rather than get pressured later to have it when he can talk about the case.

So, now one of these Republican Reps who said Jack Smith was political and went after Trump for politics is questioning him on his case against Democrat ex Senator and Democratic VP candidate John Edwards.

Republicans are not bright people and performative liars to boot.
Not sure why they are holding these hearings or what they thought would be helpful to them.
Just watched a lady who thought she could break Jack Smith on the law. Mistake.
