Please learn from my sad experience.. This happened last saturday; writing this day, 19th, May 2017. i always feel delighted whenever i meet old friends especially those i knew that way back, they used to be very funny and had goals and aspirations and are hardworking. Samson Ogunmekan Adewale, an old friend whom i met after my secondary school 7 years ago (2010). He came to live with his Grandpa and we used to cut jobs together, hustle and did GCE lessons together. I got admitted into one of the polytehnics in the southwestern region, my friend, Samson did not. He continued to work. He is a little older than i am but we used to share meal in the same plate way back and respect each other. But from time, he has had a problem of mouthing about having what only the rich can boast of but i know this of him, so anytime he starts bragging i just stop him and we laugh it off. Samson was very hardworking that sometimes his boss owes him his wages yet he would continue to work tirelessly. Few years later, i learnt work took him to Sagamu and in 2015, i met him in ijebu Ode in his old behaviour(working hard), returning rentals to co-rental services as the supervisor. He was still using his old lines, since then we hardly contact each other.. Then he was still using his old fb account "Samson Ogunmekan". I met Samson sometimes this year (2017) early this month (May), was excited and shared new contacts. Told him i school and i'm a computer engineer also by vocation. He said he lives in ijebu Ode now but did not disclose the kind of work he does now. He called some days later that he might need a laptop soon, i told him there's no stock at hand that i will have to get it from Ikeja. On Saturday,13th May 2017, he called very urgent around 6am that he would like to get the laptop that day. He asked me to forward my account details; few hours later he started calling repeatedly asking if i've seen the alert of the transfer he made.I Said NO. When the calling was becoming too much, i invited him to come down to my office. Didn't know i invited a thief. He came, i checked his phone, no alert, me neither. It was at this point i started to recognize that he has been lying about the transfer. He actually wanted to scam me with the laptop. He stayed for about 2 hours, asked of the image of the PC, showed it to him on my phone. Unknown to me, he's managed to memorize my passkey. He then said, his phone has went off that he was gonna call someone to meet him at the entrance of my shop complex downstairs. i was carried away with "he use to be my friend and a known face" and ignored my new discovery ( that his lies have become worse) claiming he's building his site now and many other trash. I felt, i know him naww, he wont try what i'm thinking.. The moment he got downstairs, he fled with the phone on a bike. i was confident he probably would have to flash and sell it, else it's useless to him. Surprisingly, 5hrs later, people started calling to tell me i was online on whatsapp few minutes ago. He has accessed it. Before the following morning, he has chatted people with my image begging them for money to borrow him and being that i've never asked such from my friends, some naively fell for it. Without calling me to confirm why i sent another account number. In short, a total of 27k have been transfered to his account " Access Bank -069490150 - Samson Ogunmekan Adewale". His Phone numbers are: 08140080073, 08154883781 I've made a Police Report and Affidavit as regards to this incident. Thanks to God i had good friends who stood out for me that i'm not a scammer and also, the poilce reports to prove but besides, the grammar composed in the chats are weigh too off my way of chatting (too many blunders). Access bank did not grant my request for his account to get flagged but requested i bring a court order which costs about 10k to obtain (after pleading), though he has withdrawn everything. Now that i've blocked him out, he's using another line to chat my contacts. i call his lines but he would ignore. I've learnt my lessons, but one thing i'm yet to fathom is why he is so desperate to put me into trouble and believe he'd go free. 10k plus 27k debts on me and my phone too gone for foolishly hooking up with an old friend. I hope somebody somewhere learn a thing or two from my story. Be careful who you call your friends and its best if you could stay away from old friends you haven't see in years. Also, be security conscious, call if need be the person you wants to make transaction with to be double sure you are not sending to a different person. Please the above account number is used to fraud people, help share until he gets nailed...

Even with Professor Yemi Osinbajo in the saddle as Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidency is still confused about who would assent to the 2017 budget. The same situation applies to the swearing-in of the two new Ministers-designate who had long been screened by the Senate. Fielding questions from State House correspondents at the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said that the decision on who signs the Appropriation Bill into law would be decided when the document is finally transmitted to the Presidency. “When it is transmitted to the Presidency, that decision will be taken”, he said. He however said that an advanced copy of the budget has been received by the Minister of Budget and National Planning. It will be recalled that President Buhari left the country on March 7 to attend to his health in London. Details later............... The Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Akinruntan has been told to withdraw a statement where he was quoted as saying he is the leader of all Yoruba monarchs. The Ulogbo was described as a rabble rouser and an attention-seeking monarch, for declaring himself as the leader of all Yoruba Obas. Reacting to the Oba’s claimed, the Secretary General, Council of Yoruba Obas, Oba Aderemi Adedapo maintained that the Ooni of Ife remains the number one king in Yoruba land. He was responding to questions from Punch on the matter. Oba Adedapo, who is also the Olojudo of Ido Osun, said the Olugbo’s claim was untrue. He said no one could rewrite history of the Yorubaland in order to suit his purpose, adding that the Ooni of Ife remained the leader without any controversy. Oba Adedapo, who is also the Coordinator, South-West Council of Traditional Rulers, said the late Ooni, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, was highly instrumental to Oba Akinruntan’s ascension to the throne. He said, “Oba Akinruntan is an attention seeker. He is a rabble rouser, he deserves no response but some people especially outside the country may tend to believe his claim if he is not corrected. “His utterance is part of royal rascality we are talking about. Does he want to rewrite history or what? Nobody can rewrite history. The late Ooni Sijuwade made it possible for him to become the Olugbo.

The Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr Nnamdi Kanu has been described as a man with a personal interest and self-egoism. Grand patron of Biafran War veterans, Dr Ramas Asuzu who stated this also described Kanu’s activities as one that smacks of self-adulation, wondering why the euphoria of a hero since regaining his freedom. According to Asuzu, “this was the way Chief Ralph Uwazuruike of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB started and ended up enriching himself and abandoning the struggle. He noted that before Kanu would embark on the struggle, he should have consulted widely with Igbo leaders and seek their input rather than taking a plunge that has not yielded any result so far. “Late Odumegwu Ojukwu fought for the course with his whole might, yet, the world powers deprived us that freedom. “Though, Nnamdi Kanu started with a negative approach by abusing everybody through Biafra radio. Before such liberation journey, I think he should have consulted the elders. I don’t know if he actually did so, but as the grand patron of War veterans, I’m supposed to be on the roll.” Ramas stated. The spiritual head of Igbo emancipation further lamented how Ndigbo have been losing out in the country’s power play warning that the actualization of Biafra is not the panacea to Igbo’s problem. According to him, “I think the right of Ndigbo should have been the top priority of Kanu before the agitation for the Republic of Biafra.” “I am warning that with the present position of the Country, Nigeria may likely disintegrate naturally, without shooting a bullet. For the second time this year, the 74-year-old leader travels to London for Health Problem The 74-year-old leader spent nearly two months on medical leave in London earlier this year, sparking speculations on his health and the future of Africa's most populous nation. "Tonight I leave for London, to see my doctors. When I came back in March, I hinted that there might be a need to return soon, for a follow-up. I'd like to assure all Nigerians that there is no cause for worry," the president wrote on Twitter on 7 May, before his departure. Although the Nigerian presidency has downplayed fears over Buhari's possible ill-health, concern remains that the leader is too unwell to continue to lead one of Africa's largest economies. Here is what we know about Buhari's health and how Nigeria is dealing with the issue. 1. What are Buhari's health problems? The Nigerian presidency has not disclosed details about Buhari's illness. Matthew T. Page, analyst and former US intelligence expert on Nigeria, told IBTimes UK Nigerian officials are not obliged to do so as "they do not believes such information is in the public interest." Buhari returned to Nigeria on 10 March, temporarily ending ill-health rumours. However, he said had never felt so ill. Soon after, the presidency said the leader was planning to travel again to the UK for further medical tests. Before his second departure to the UK on 7 May, some claimed the leader was working at a slow pace, meaning that economic reforms needed in the recession-hit country could not be implemented fast enough. Earlier this month, officials told Reuters Buhari spent between one and four hours per day at his office. What does President Buhari's return mean for Nigeria? After he skipped two consecutive cabinet meetings, activists urged Buhari earlier in May to take more sick leave. However, Buhari's wife said fears over his health are exaggerated. The leader made a brief public appearance on 7 May after Boko Haram terrorists released 82 girls who had been kidnapped three years before. "Even though details of his health problems remain a secret, outward appearances suggest that he [Buhari] is battling some sort of life-threatening illness, such as metasticized cancer," Page said. 2. Who is running Nigeria? Before leaving Nigeria earlier this year, Buhari appointed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as acting president. Upon his second departure, the presidency said the length of Buhari's stay would be determined by the doctors. "Government will continue to function normally under the able leadership of the Vice President," read the statement. Osinbajo has won praise for the leadership skills he demonstrated during Buhari's first absence, fuelling speculations he could have replaced Buhari if the latter had become incapacitated. Among other things, Osinbajo met with leader of the restive Niger Delta region to discuss solutions in the oil-rich area. He also addressed grievances of protesters who called for economic reforms, and launched a 60-day action plan to improve the business climate. "While Nigerians are becoming increasingly critical of President Buhari during his absence amid a period of significant political and economic insecurity in the country, the incumbent has demonstrated an act of leadership which, until now, has been unprecedented in post-democratic Nigeria," Ryan Cummings, director of political and security risk management consultancy, Signal Risk 3. How are Nigerians reacting to Buhari's absence? Some Nigerians have drawn similarities between Buhari's medical leave and that of deceased former president Umaru Yar'Adua, who was admitted to a hospital in Saudi Arabia in 2009. At the time, the Nigerian presidency did not disclose much information about the health of the head of state. The country experienced a power vacuum filled only when the senate approved a Doctrine of Necessity to allow the then vice-president Goodluck Jonathan to be sworn in as president. Yar'Adua returned to Nigeria in February 2010 and died at the presidential villa in Abuja in May that year. "For millions of Nigerians, feelings of trepidation regarding the socio-economic trajectory of the country – and the associated absence of their president to steady its wayward course – will be all too familiar," Cummings told IBTimes UK. "His absence has only fuelled popular anxiety in Africa's most populous country which is facing myriad security issues, along with a recession-hit economy." 4. What happens if Buhari does not return to Nigeria? If Buhari dies or become incapacitated, Osinbajo could become the interim president until the country holds presidential elections, which are scheduled to take place in 2019. "By bestowing executive powers to his deputy, Buhari has ensured that his extended – or even indefinite incapacitation – will not precipitate a power vacuum in [the] country," Cummings said. But some have pointed out that Osinbajo, a Christian from the south, could be obstructed by politicians loyal to Buhari, a Muslim from the north. 5. Will Buhari's absence affect the fight against Boko Haram? Buhari has promised his administration would defeat Boko Haram terrorists, which the UN blames for the death of at least 20,000 people and the displacement of 2.1 million. The Islamist outfit used to control territories the size of Belgium. However, Nigeria's ongoing military operation, Lafiya Dole, and a regional offensive – consisting of 8,700 troops from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Benin – have scored some success, with soldiers recapturing key territories and releasing thousands of civilians held captive by the group. "Buhari has done a great job in the given time with changing conditions on ground to diminish the capacity of Boko Haram holding territory and carrying out conventional attacks. He has been able to secure the release of some Chibok girls at a cost," security analyst and counter-terrorism expert, David Otto, told IBTimes UK. "But travelling back to the UK is a clear indication that he may not be able to continue and may even consider resigning while the Vice President takes over. Page believes Buhari's absence will not affect the anti-terrorism campaign. "Buhari has delegated this task to the military and does not appear to be involved in operational decision-making," he said.
