Nothing will change. Nothing. Unless someone cares a whole lot - Dr. Seuss
You are a Nigerian.
You are not powerless. You are not helpless. Make your elected Representative in the Houses responsive. Talk to your Rep. in the House and tell them what you want. Submit an email to be contacted when the need arises. Click here to start talking..... I swear nothing can change not only if one cares, that he did sacrifice him self for justice and fairness to everybody. |

cheiii this country, I will say it again, if the liles of dokpesi and dasuki don't go to prison, then THIS ADMINISTRATION IS MOUTH, just wasting peoples time and finance.
Won't be surprised if EFCC has taking there own share of the looted funds. so sorry for this pessimistic country even when we still give dem our trust and loyalty. |

mannobi: Ugo Chikieze wrote :
THE BAYELSA ELECTION, A LESSON FOR THE IGBOS: I have been following events in the Bayelsa state since Saturday and I think it's high time we Igbos woke up and learn our lessons. What is happening in Bayelsa state shows that the Bayelsans have moved on. They are no longer tied to the apron of PDP and GEJ. That state is one of the smallest states in the country and it's the home state of the former president (GEJ), yet the result of the election held since Saturday have not been announced officially till now. I thought the PDP would have swept off the whole votes just like they did during the presidential election, but to my amazement the APC is also gathering considerable votes there. I know PDP may eventually emerge winner in the election, but my point is that we Igbos should wake up and stop crying more than the bereaved cos even the bereaved have moved on. Other regions have moved on and have even started integrating themselves into this PMB administration to ensure they remain relevant and not schemed out if things, while some of my people are still holding themselves down and throwing hate speeches here and there. Other region are already preparing for 2019, some are already gearing up for 2023, while my people have failed to arise and shake off GEJ and his failed administration. By 2019 now, we will begin to run helter-skelter and start last minute preparation and when we loose again, we will say we are hated by others but we forget that we are the ones holding ourselves down now that others are already preparing ahead. The Igbos have enjoyed more "juicy" appointments in the past 16 years of this democratic dispensation, yet none of the appointees or elected officials performed exceptional well for us to present him/her as presidential candidate. But look at the likes of Fashola, Fayemi, Kwakwanso, El Rufai, etc they are all potential presidential candidates going forward cos their achievements speak for them. Tell me the achievements of. Orji Uzor Kalu, T.A Orji, Sam Egwu, Chimaroke Nnamani, Mbadinuju, etc.... none of them made a mark in their various states, yet we leave them and keep pointing fingers to other regions and saying they are our problem. I advise we wake up and begin to align ourselves strategically with other region now cos we can never produce a president in this country if we continue like this. While some misguided elements are busy shouting Biafra, and claiming that South south is part of their Biafra, the southsouth have denounced the whole Biafra thing publicly and I understand that just last weekend, Nyesom Wike of River State, named a stadium in River State after Yakubu Gowon. Does that not tell you something ? The golden rule says 'DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WILL LIKE THEM TO DO UNTO YOU'..... Love begat love, hate begat hate. Don't expect love from others when you give them hatred, don't expect them to vote for your candidate when you keep calling them animals that live in the zoo. "Give and it shall be given unto you" whatever you give to others is what they will give back to you GOOD MEASURES, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKING TOGETHER AND RUNNING OVER. He who has ears let him hear, Wisdom is profitable to direct.... I rest my case... I just hope you get this POST, You have said the realistic truth, if u find out most of this biafrans are tout and stupid people with no goals half baked literates.... im igbo but am not biafran |

I am currently studying law in mountcrest university, accra, ghana. Although I really like law but also love doing business, is not even as if I have one business am currently running but its a passion, I think its like watching and loving football but you can't kick and infact don't play football. its not as if I have never managed a business of my own, No dont get it wrong I have, in fact I started my first ice cream business immediately I graduated from secondary school. I was supplying ice cream for students and honestly the profit was really massive. I got into school to study law, I love contract law i.e I am trying to say I loved the civil cases more than the administrative cases or subject. especially contract law.
So the issue here is, I want to be an entrepreneur and when I mean entrepreneur I mean making it BIG. I have ideas, beautiful and mighty ones. I want mature nairalanders and the public at large(mature) to advice me on: how to link up my course study with my dream of becoming an entrepreneur?
A hint is creating a legal service for the public at large, please I don't mean going to court but like having a company that does legal related stuffs. I want you guys to give me your opinion.
lalasticlala, please will be glad if this is to make FP please help a brother. |

Nihilist: This article is so wrong I dont even know where to begin
1. The average employee typically works a 5 day week or roughly 20 days in month. I completely disgree with the premise of the OP's dubious calculations, but even if the calculations were grounded in some sort of logic, shouldn't the OP be dividing by 20 instead of 30?
2. The OP also misses the point by comparing an employee and his steady income to Hawkers,Truckers etc with their irregular cash flow. Again I doubt the veracity of his stats with regards to the earnings of hawkers, truckers and co, but even if the stats were true, The OP still fails to consider that even though the Hawker could earn 2000 Naira in a day, he/she is not guaranteed an income of 120k per month unlike the Banker
The crux of the OP's assertion is Business Owners have the potential to earn more than employees. The OP fails to consider the level of risk that these entrepreneurs are exposed to.
For the vast majority of people, it is better to go to work and be guaranteed your 300k monthly salary jejely, than to go and out hustle with no true knowledge of when the next paycheck is coming. at last that's the mindset we all talking about... I will die an accomplished capitalist |
