PoliticsRe: "Politicians Buy AK47, Weapons For Herdsmen" - Miyetti Allah by ikemesit4477: 12:30pm On Feb 03, 2018
aminulive:
@POLITICSNGR

President of the Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo has revealed that politicians are responsible for purchasing sophisticated weaponry like AK-47s for Herdsmen.

Bodejo wondered how many farmers in Nigeria could afford to buy an Ak-47, adding that politicians take advantage of the clashes they have to fuel propaganda. He said in a recent interview with Sun;

"There is a long history of clashes between the Fulani and the farmers in this country. Almost about 50 years ago, the Fulani and the farmers have been having clashes but the clashes were usually settled between the local chiefs and Fulani leaders but now since the last eight years, everything has changed. What is happening in Nigeria today is not a normal clash between the Fulani and the farmers.

The whole thing has been politicized and politicians are getting involved in the problem. In 2014 during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, there were clashes in Benue, Plateau and Taraba states but the media did not sensationalise it like what is happening now. In the present case, people are using all kinds of propaganda. Anytime the nation wants to go into a general election to entrench a new government, people would start all kinds of propaganda.

When one or two people are killed now, they would carry propaganda like a whole village has been wiped off. Now, there is no farming in the bush but anything that happens, they say it is the Fulani and farmers. Before, both the farmers and the Fulani, if they had a problem in the bush, they could easily settle themselves but now politicians are involved and they are preaching so much hatred between the Fulani and the farmers.

The problem is that the Fulani do not have access to the media because many of them are in the bush rearing their cattle. If for instance, you want to call a Fulani in Benue to know what is happening to them there, it may not be possible because you do not have the number of anybody there in the bush.

But the media especially the social media, they always write one side of the story. There is no balance in the stories that are being pushed out and because the Fulani are not in control of the media, anything or crime can be imposed on them and the people would erroneously believe it.

The normal thing the media should do is if they hear the side of the farmers, they should also go and find the position of the Fulani. What is happening now is that some politicians who are finding it difficult to come back to power are causing the problem.

Ask yourself how many farmers can buy the AK47 rifles that they say the Fulani herdsmen carry about. Instead of finding a way to end the crisis, the politicians are using propaganda to escalate it. Every time, they say it is Fulani but if you go to other countries where the Fulani are herding their cattle, have you heard any killings that were caused by the Fulani?

They killed people in Taraba and they said it was the handiwork of the Fulani but the people who did it are not the Fulani. If there are such killings, the security authorities like the police should be contacted and they should be able to tell the truth. Like I said, they are stigmatizing us using the media because the Fulani do not have access to the media."

He also disclosed that most of the herdsmen arrested in recent weeks are not Fulani and that the politicians who bought AK-47 rifles for them are not Fulani. In his words;

"In the last two or three weeks, the police have arrested some people with AK47 rifles but those people are not Fulani. They are mentioning some politicians who are not Fulani for buying AK47 for them and I believe them because the poor cattle herders cannot buy AK 47."

EducationRe: Iran To Build Universities In Nigeria by ikemesit4477: 7:44am On Feb 03, 2018
HigherEd:
Iran has expressed readiness to establish universities in Nigeria to meet the demands of students seeking higher education in that country.

Iranian Ambassador to Nigeria, Morteza Rahimi Zarchi said through signing of new deal, the country would be able to open some branches of Iranian universities in Nigeria.
The envoy stated this Thursday while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of Islamic Revolution victory in Iran.

“Iranian universities have advanced both qualitatively and quantitatively, and the cost is competitive. These are some of the reasons Iran is targeted by some Nigerians seeking higher education.
“We are very hopeful and confident that through signing of new agreement in the field of developing scientific and educational activities, we are going to expand our cooperation in this field to Nigeria very soon.
“In that aspect, we will be able to meet with the demands of Nigerian graduates who are seeking advanced level of education in Iran. If we succeed in signing the agreement, we will be able to open and inaugurate some branches of Iranian universities in Nigeria either in Abuja or other states,” he said.
Zarchi also said Iran is ready to expand bilateral relations with Nigeria in the areas in the areas of oil and gas, construction and housing, saying that negotiations are ongoing in that regard.
“Iran has got plans to expand cooperation with Nigeria. Very recently, there were numerous meeting headed by the Vice President of Iran to expand cooperation with Africa, particularly Nigeria, the biggest economy in the continent. A number of decisions had been taken and this will soon translate from rhetoric to action,” the envoy said.
He said the embassy is making efforts to bring more Iranian companies to participate in the coming international trade fair in Kaduna.
He said the 6th Nigeria-Iran joint commission would soon hold in Tehran and that Iran is hopeful that negotiations would be finalised and good decision made.
Speaking on the country’s development since the 1979 revolution, the envoy said Iran has made gains in many areas, including political independence, security, economy, medicine and education.
He said Iran is ever committed to combating terrorism and violent extremism, noting that the country is ready to cooperate with others to rid the world of terrorist groups.

IslamRe: My Experience In Nysc Orientation Camp Delta State by ikemesit4477: 11:39am On Feb 02, 2018
AbdelKabir:
When we saw the condition of the sisters, I asked the da'wah coordinator to start giving naseehah every morning before salaatul fajr, which Alhamdulillaah has been yielding results – may Allaah bless him – although some came behind screen to criticise but we don't care about the criticism as far as our aim is to advise those who will listen and not to force. This is why Fathers and husbands should not force their women in practicing Islam without explaining clearly the implications of not practicing, cuz the first day these sisters came to camp, they were all in khimar, one was even a munaqqobah(veiled)[What is she looking for in the camp to begin with?]. But to my greatest surprise we did not see any bashfulness in them after they removed their khimar, atleast if you disobeyed Allaah by removing your khimar, you should feel naked without your khimar which should lead to shyness but this was not the case.

Rather, they were so free and I got so disappointed and erased the perception I had about them before, the munaqqobah used a handkerchief to cover her face while outfit is tight fitting describing her body, so what's the use of the veil? She was advised but to no avail.

Now what's the motive of this thread?

Firstly after I looked at the NYSC set up, I concluded that what we are being told is 'come to this camp and disobey your lord if you wish to' there is nothing befitting here for a conscious Muslim I said "if you wish to" because those who are keen on not disobeying Allaah will refrain and look for a way out, like a few sisters who refused going to parade and asked me to pls harbour them in the mosque which I gladly did to preserve their religion.

Secondly, disobeying Allaah here in camp can be avoided by men easily, but women? Its extremely difficult cuz you'll have to remove your hijab, so I don't advice, in fact I strongly go against conscious women going to camp. So if you have daughters and you are reading this pls safeguard their religion by not letting them go to camp, if you can don't let the males as well, camp is not a good place to be, that three weeks can destroy the eeman you have once you expose yourself to the fitna. I and some other brothers and sisters got saved cuz we hide in the mosque and the camp commandant is a Muslim that got us covered from being raided by his soldiers, although the camp director is not too happy with that, but he can't do much about that. So what if its not like that in all camps? In fact its not, Benue camp is a good example.

Lastly, teach your children the religion properly, don't just force them, but tell them why they are to do it, they are amana placed on you, you should fear Allaah and nurture them properly, the prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam said:

"Any man whom Allaah has given the authority of ruling some people and he does not look after them in a manner that they should be looked after will never feel even the smell of Paradise."(related by both bukhari and Muslim)

May Allaah guide us all....

Since the premiere of Big Brother Naija season 3, the unveiling of the "lucky" contestants as well as the faux eviction less 24 hours into the game, the internet has been greeted with every minute news pertaining to the show. There is barely any opportunity for pertinent news to make it into the web space and if you are a novice and are wondering how long you have to bear this for, then let me humbly announce to you that you have about another 3 months to either "enjoy" the show or keep ranting on the internet about tired you are of seeing unsolicited news. The choice is totally yours.

Anyway, amidst the unveiling of the Big Brother Naija Double Wahala housemates, one question that has been on the lips of at least 70% of Nigerians is; How can Tobi Bakre claim to be 23yrs old??

Well i don't know how old he is because i definitely do not have assess to his birth certificate nor was i present at the time of his birth but i can tell you categorically that something doesn't add up.
I know this is Nigeria where public figures lie through their teeth about their ages. It is not news that entertainers such as Korede Bello, Burna boy, and of recent, Kiss Daniel, have all been accused of faking their ages but what makes theirs different is the fact that they were all assumptions with barely any proof to back such allegations. However, that is not the case here as our darling Tobi just may be giving us some clues that counter his "age" claim.

Before you think i'm delusional, check these;

FIRSTLY;

We have heard it a million times that Tobi is a graduate of the University of Lagos, Akoka. Right? Cool! But here is what they did NOT tell you.
Tobi was a student of the University of Lagos for 4 years. (2008 - 2012). Let's do the math. If the "23yrs old" claim is anything to go by, that means the premiere HoH of #BBNaija2018 was born in the year 1995, right? Good!
Going by this, we can safely conclude that Tobi was admitted into the University of Lagos at the age of 13 (2008 minus 1995), as opposed to the minimum age of 16yrs as stipulated by JAMB. Okay!!!

If you aren't seeing any loopholes presently, then maybe this last one would help you.

Ready?

Here you go;

In this very confusing picture dated January 23rd 2016, Tobi's younger brother, Femi is apparently celebrating his 23rd birthday.

In summary,
1. Tobi is a 2012 University of Lagos graduate.
2. He has a younger brother named Femi.
3. Femi is a 2014 University of Lagos graduate.
4. Femi turned 23yrs old in 2016.
5. Tobi is 23yrs old in 2018.

What do you think? Is this a tactic to create #doublewahala for #BBNaija2018 or is Tobi Bakre actually, truthfully, honestly, literally 23yrs old?

Let me know what you think...

Papiikush:
As an excited 2018 big brother kicks off today Sunday 28, we hope to see our ever blazing presenter- Ebuka obi-uchendu and some new entertaining New housemates coming in on a race to win a whopping sum of 45 million naira in this third Season.

This year's edition is tagged: "Double Wahala"

The aim of the show is to have fun; however for the duration of the show, the Housemates are subject to Biggie’s rules. These need to be followed from the moment the Housemates enter the House until the moment they leave. Take a look at the below;

Big Brother's rules of law:

Rule 1: Housemates must respect the House and their fellow contestants at all times.

Rule 2: The Housemates will have no contact with the outside world and they are kept busy by the various tasks and challenges set by Biggie. Being in such close proximity with a house full of strangers can be tough going and Biggie has set rules that need to be followed.

Rule 3: Big Brother has complete control over everything going on in the house and Biggie never discusses anything that goes on outside of the house with anyone inside.

Rule 4: The Housemates are filmed 24/7 and they must have their microphones on at all times. The viewers must be able to hear all conversations at all times and are not allowed to whisper or cover their mouths while speaking to fellow Housemates. They are also not allowed to reveal the location of the cameras and microphones.

Rule 5: Diary Sessions are one of the most important aspects of the show’s success and are compulsory. Once a Housemate is called to the Diary Room, they must drop everything they are doing and proceed to the Diary Room. Failure to do so will result in a fine, "a strike" or worse. Housemates can request to enter the Diary Room at any time of the day or night. Sunglasses and hats are not permitted in the Diary Room. The door for the Diary Room will be locked when not in use and no one is allowed into the room if it is occupied.

Important to note:
Diary Sessions and Nominations are compulsory and Housemates need to give valid reasons for nominating a fellow Housemate. Biggie reserves the right to take his time to answer any questions, but will always return with an answer. Biggie will not entertain any personal questions. What happens in the Diary Room stays in the Diary Room and Housemates cannot discuss anything that happens in the Diary Room. Exceptions to this rule are events such as Head of House Tasks.

Rule 6: Nominations are important and Housemates are not allowed to discuss the reasons for their nominations with anyone other than Big Brother. If a Housemate does so it will be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to influence others. They are not allowed to communicate via hints, signs, symbols or written notes. Housemates are not allowed to enter into any alliance or scheme to plot the downfall of fellow Housemates. Communication in the house in Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and any other local language other than English is not permitted.

Rule 7: Housemates are not allowed to strike, intimidate, threaten or act in any way that can be construed as violent towards any fellow Housemates. This could result in immediate disqualification.

Rule 8: Housemates are not allowed to bring the following into the house:

- CDs, CD players, radios, iPod, iPad
- Walkmans, DVD/Blu-Ray players, televisions
- Mobile phones, Smart phones
- Computers, Laptops, Notepads
- Video game consoles, Computer games
- Calendars
- Diaries
- Pen and paper or any writing materials
- Eyeliner (Or any other make-up that could be used for writing.)
- Alarm clocks
- Watches
- Any electronic equipment requiring batteries

TravelRe: What Is The Citizenship Of A Baby Born On An Airplane? by ikemesit4477: 7:40pm On Jan 27, 2018
joeaz58:
It is not very common for babies to be born while flying at 36,000 feet, but when it does happen it is generally a newsworthy event for a plane to land with one more passenger than it had when it took off. This week, a mom gave birth to a healthy baby on an Air France flight from Paris to New York before they could reach the ground at JFK. Luckily, there was a doctor on board to manage the situation until they could get the mama and baby some on-the-ground medical attention, and in this case, everything seems to have worked out just fine.

A common question that comes up when this happens (in addition to does the baby get free flights?) is what citizenship is a baby given when they are born on an airplane?
Nice question, but I won't lie to you, I don't know!
