Career / At Last, UBA Has Reviewed Its Pay Upwards by ikman52000(m): 12:51pm On Mar 26, 2007
Its a good news to here that UBA has thought it wise to review its pay upwards. At least an Executive Trainee is now entitled  to 1 Million Naira per annum. This is in place of the 720,000 Naira per annum before. Translating to 49,000  Naira Monthly after all deductions. They can now smile home with about 70,000 Naira after deductions. Kudos Elumelu.

We should not just be hearing that the bank is the biggest but with less financial impact on the staff.

Although, the bank has not measured with its colleagues in terms of pay to staff, but this recent step is a good one in the right direction.

3. Educational Qualifications:

• Candidates must have at least a Masters Degree in
the Sciences or Technology or Education and Human
Resources Development. A PhD Degree is an added
advantage.

• A qualification in project management (diploma or
certificate) would be a strong recommendation.

4. Work Experience: Candidates must have at least ten
(10 ) years of appropriate experience of which at
least 5 years would have been in Senior Management
position, including design and development of policies
and strategies

5. Other relevant skills

• Working knowledge of policy analysis and

discipline is required.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years retail construction experience

Managed multiple civil constructions. (Telecom a plus)

Coordinated various internal department and external vendors

Understanding of architectural and electrical blueprints

Ordered subcontractor materials from vendors
writhed subcontractor contracts.

Created plans and designs

Primary responsibilities:

* Develop construction specifications and procedures
* Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work
* Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction
materials
* Plan, design and organize major civil projects such as Antenna
and structural steel fabrications
* Ensure construction plans meet Harris Stratex Network
guidelines and specifications
* Establish and monitors construction work schedules and
delivery.
* Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or
construction work
* Made foundation analysis, building and structural inspection
* Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for
construction
* Supervise consultants / contractors and other engineers
* Review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates.
Create budgets for construction projects
* Manage multiple construction projects
* Maintains direct contact with customers, delivery companies,
and independent installation contractors to insure an on time
quality job at minimum cost
* Define and monitor project budgets, manpower needs, phase
schedules and task lists
* Participate in negotiation of services and preparation of
contracts
* Monitor project changes and potential additional services
* Resolve conflicts related to project

Frank, this was held in Abuja.
The virgin Nigeria interview is quite an interesting one, its more like a boardroom affair just like the intern show for those who know what am talking about. The interviewees are made to analyse an issue and come up with a solution. E.g you might be given a case study and asked to read it and come up with a solution as a group, your individual contribution matters a great deal as your presentation can either make or mar you to be selected. Moreso, you need to be very analytical and concise in your presentation. Its a debate sort of. It could come in this form, 6 people might be said to be in a pit and you are expected to rescue them with each person in the pit having his or her own peculiarities, the question now is who will you rescue first and how will you do it. Just read the stuff very well and present your points analytically and you wil for sure be successful.

After that, another stage might require you 2 darw an animal that has a semblance with you in character and you are expected to give the similarities btwn you and the animal, then finallly its a one on one interview with a panel or the interviewer where you are asked about yourself and virgin nigeria.

All the best people. I have done the test and interview in Abuja last month and we made it but we are waiting for the final call as no body has been called. All the best as you attempt it.
