To explain further. In linear motion, a straight shot accelerates until it reaches a velocity where the airdrag equals the forec that causes accelerate and thus move at constant speed before it decelerates.
Here the force that causes the acceleration comes from the legs of the shooter. The more powerful the kick the faster the shot is(if other factors remain constant)
In circular motion the force(Torque or moment) increases the angular speed(spin) of the ball until it reaches its maximum rev(spin). Again, the force/moment behind this comes from the kick.
So given the same ball, no wind, same pose, and same side of the foot, putting more "power" to ball adds way more spin(revolutions) than less.
That's why Beckham had more bend to his freekick than messi because he had more momentum during his run-up.

I read up on Mihajlovic, his freekick style was with power and swerve. Like Roberto Carlos and with Beckham, I also saw a freekick by Teofilo Cubillas in Peru vs Scotland, his side footed shot didn't have so much power but it had the curve or swerve. Placed shots trade power for accuracy and favour curves. That's why I keep opining that to get a curve, you don't need so much power. Messi's freekicks are more based on the curve and accuracy than Carlos or Beckham's shot, and curve.

Dude. The curl is normally determined by the spin of the ball. The more the spin the more the curvature. And higher power mostly increases the spin.
That "demonic curve" in 2016 is is actually a different technique. More like a non-deadspin knuckleball. If you noticed the ball curled gently the took a sharp turn just before it got to the keeper. I would say the ball swerved more than it curled.

dead spin, dip are all achieved by the knuckle ball way of striking ball that's what I meant. In fact one of the surest ways of striking the ball for freekicks for a variety of ranges is by striking the ball with the knuckles of the foot

Nope. The curl of a ball is determined by the amont of lateral spins(rotations) per unit time. A ball that spins more curls more. So a bending ball has a very high number of spins per unit time. And the number of spins is determined by the part of the foot used(toe, outside, or inside foot), the position/slant of the kickers body and mostly the power behind kind. The outside and inside foot generate more spin than the toe.
Beckham used the inside foot, he also slant his body, and gave some distance to the ball to gather momentum.

Roberto carlos' banana freekick would not have been possible without the tremendous power.
The ball moved at over 200KM/H.

curls are not dependent on how much the ball spins, even the wind and the weight of the ball or design are also included. Jabulani of 2010 world cup curved alot and it wasn't because of how you kicked it but the ball was poorly designed. Rivellino's free kicks and Roberto Carlos' free kicks were dependent on power but it doesn't mean you need such power to apply the curve on a ball. we can't really measure the power of Beckham or Messi's free kicks, but I'll say sentimentally that Messi hits with more power than Beckham. However without sentiments, curling freekicks don't need power so much. Messi's first freekick goal against Athletico Madrid when Courtois was still there, was from in impossible angle for a leftie but he scored it with a high arching shot. A lot of Beckham's freekick goals weren't dependent on power but the curl. Same with Messi and other curlers.

As I said Rafinha is good but doesn't just fit into our system.i personally do not even know his position.He is been played as RM or RW by Valverde.But I have always known him as a CM.Playing him as a RW means either Messi,Dembele drops out which is not really that possible.A RM means a 4-4-2 system.A flat 3 means he will dislodge either Vidal or Arthur which is not really feasible because honestly he doesn't offer what those 2 offers.I don't mean selling him off because he is injury prone.As I said he doesn't just fit into our system.

Rafinha has some advantages but he is too injury prone, but Barcelona is "more than a club" so I don't think we will just sell him. Our 1st centre back pairing this season was supposed to be Pique and Umtiti unfortunately red cards and injuries are against Umtiti. Lenglet isn't as bad as you make him look, Koulibaly is too costly, our wage bill is already too high we need young players. Look at Laporte and Stones at Man city, they used to be error prone boys but they are among the best defensive partnerships in England, Lenglet will improve. Like mr Ayo says what we need is a Suarez replacement; a young, cheap but good centre back and cover for Jordi Alba.
