His off the ball runs are sometimes so poor. Some things you just have to teach your self. The way to run with the ball that Guardiola taught Sterling, Bale was running that way right from Tottenham when he was playing LB. If Kante loses the ball, he will chase you till either gets that ball or fouls you. Nobody taught him that. Nobody taught G. jesus is mad pressing. Coach won't teach you everything.

I was one of those fans that would get angry when dembele gets benched but the second half of that match against Sevilla where he replaced Messi changed my already changing view totally.. He lost possession too many times, twice in front of Valverde, Cameras had to show valverde disappointed face, he also lost possession that led to one of Sevilla's goal.. Then came the copa Del Rey where he was to be our main man, he was ordinary, losing possession too many times, he was low on confidence, heads down.

this match needed high level discipline, Ath Madrid have the stingiest defense in la liga, we needed to be as stingy as they are, and the coach got it right. Don't risk, wait and see. And it worked. If we had started Dembele, he won't the runs of anybody, he will be attempting to dribble and be losing ball, Ath Madrid played a low defense line so no space for Dembele or Malcolm to run into and wait for pass, this match was about technique and patience. And EV got it right. Rafinha is FFAARR more controlled than Dembele who can erratic a times. So Rafinha starts before him. Check, how many players attempted up to 5 dribbles? Even Messi was spraying passes...
