composure: Oga it’s Oyigbo not Obigbo what is wrong with you igbos? You see how you invite hatred for your people? How can you rename a local govt area oyigbo to obigbo? What kind of expansion is that? Is South east not enough for you people? When we call you people attach by force you will get pissed. The people of Oyigbo have never called it Obigbo or written to the Rivers state house of assembly to change the name to Obigbo, it’s only you igbo migrants that keep calling it Obigbo, what kind of foolishness is that? 2 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy: Where did they attack Hausa truck drivers and burning down of the goods coming from the North during the EndSars protest? Where did they attack Hospital and place roadblocks in extorting money from individuals? But all this happened in Oyigbo and stop calling it Obigbo there is nothing like that in Rivers state. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Unik3030: My brother it’s really funny All you see them do is condemned the military for restoring peace but that should not exclude the fact that innocent people are also suffering from the present predicament there. But what the govt is doing by deploying soldiers including tanks with the curfew on ground is to scare/deal with these IPOB miscreants to the point that the Igbos will never consider raising any flag or holding any meeting in not just Oyigbo but in the entire Rivers state. I’m sorry for the indigenes there, but this is an eye opener for them to secure their communities and report any IPOB gatherings to prevent a repeat of what is going on now in their communities. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
Politics / Why Does The Nigerian Army’s Logo Have An Arabic Inscription? by IkwerrePikin: 4:32pm On Nov 01, 2020 |
The Arabic Writing: The Arabic text on the Nigerian Army logo is, "NASRUNMINALLAH" which means "VICTORY COMES FROM GOD ALONE." The motto was formerly that of the great jihadist, Uthman Dan Fodio, Head of the Sokoto Caliphate which was inscribed by the British under Lord Lugard. I think it doesn’t look good for an arabic text to be used on the logo of the army when arabic is not our official language. This is not suppose to cause issue, why can’t southerners in the senate change it to english which is our official language?

Politics / Rivers NASS Caucus Lauds Gov Wike Effort To Rein In IPOB by IkwerrePikin: 6:27pm On Oct 31, 2020 |
Members of the Rivers State caucus of the National Assembly have affirmed their support for measures taken by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to rein in the Indigenous Peoples Organization of Biafra (IPOB) in the State. The lawmakers said they unconditionally stand with Governor Wike on every actions he has taken to preserve lives and properties of all residents in the State. Leader of the caucus, Senator George Sekibo, stated this when he led members of the caucus on a solidarity visit to Governor Wike at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday. Sekibo explained that the caucus had been impressed with efforts and commitment of the governor in the handling of EndSARS protest and the aftermath. According to him, while the governor had ensured that the protest was peaceful, traducers and enemies of the State masquerading as IPOB decided to cause mayhem; kill innocent residents and even security officers; destroy properties of the State and citizens, especially in Oyigbo, Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas. “As a caucus, we want to state our unalloyed support for your re-affirmation of the proscription of the Indigenous Peoples Organization of Biafra (IPOB)in line with the categorisation of the group as a terrorist organisation by the Federal Government” “We also want to unequivocally state that Rivers State cannot and will never be annexed by any group, organisaiton or person(s) whatsoever, as we are Niger Delta people and will always stand for the course of the Niger Delta, her people, dreams and aspirations”, he said. Sekibo emphasised that if the powers that be had listened when in 2016 the Governor called the attention of the world to the atrocious activities of the default Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SAR) in Rivers State, the nation will not have suffered the colossal loss of lives and properties during and after the protest. In his response, Governor Wike lauded the caucus for the solidarity visit and reaffirmed that he will continue to do all that is required to protect and defend the State. He explained that members of IPOB capitalised on the contiguousness of Oyigbo to Abia State to invade the community and unleash violence, resulting in the death of six soldiers and four policemen. The governor who vowed that IPOB will never be allowed to exist within Rivers State, reiterated that law abiding Igbos and other nationalities shall continue to live and do business in the State unmolested. He reiterated that if the Federal Government had not politicised security, steps should have been taken to checkmate the notorious activities of the default SARS. He further blamed politicisation of security for the reason why the State’s Neighbourhood Watch has not taken off. The Governor assured the lawmakers that when the State receives the N78billion refund from the Federal Government, the money will be judiciously used for the benefit of the entire State. Furthermore, Governor Wike declared that he will supervised the employment of 5000 youths into the State Civil Service in order to ensure that no community, ward, Local Government Area was marginalised. https://thisnigeria.com/rivers-nass-caucus-lauds-gov-wike-effort-to-rein-in-ipob/ Cc: lalasticala mydd44 2 Likes 1 Share

Politics / Rivers Man Advice To Oyigbo People Concerning IPOB And Current Curfew by IkwerrePikin: 4:00pm On Oct 30, 2020 |
My good people of Oyigbo local government in Rivers state, i am very concerned about what is happening in Oyigbo local government because i know a lot of innocent people are currently suffering due to the presence of IPOB miscreants in your land. This is because you people have allowed this IPOB migrants operate in your communities with full audacity to the point of burning down police station and killing of fellow Nigerians from the North. This is not acceptable because if your brother is being killed in the North you will never be happy with it especially when the northerners that are being killed have no link with these corrupt politicians ripping the country, they are only truck drivers looking for their daily bread only to be killed by tribal bigots who have turned terrorist. I sympathize with them including the innocent Oyigbo people that might have been killed due to retaliation from the Hausa community. My Advice To Prevent A Repeat Of the Current Situation: Oyigbo people, Rivers state is not igbo land, we only have igbos doing business in Rivers state, name and language similarities between two tribes doesn’t make one the other, it only shows evidence of intermarriage and trade relationship between the two tribes over the years but can never eradicate the true ancestral history of the indigenes. 1. Work with the security agencies and help them identify these IPOB migrants in your land. Ensure that ipob do not carry out any meetings or stand any IPOB flag in your land. 2. This will make the government understand that you’re not part of them and want them out of your communities which will make the job easier for the security agencies. 3. Have you wondered why there are no IPOb crisis in other parts of Rivers state? It’s because we don’t harbor criminals, we don’t tolerate these IPOB migrants. Please ensure that you help the security agencies fish out these IPOB migrants in Oyigbo local government while the government works to call off the curfew in the next few days. Trust me if you indigenes allow these Ipob migrants to repeat the crisis they caused in Oyigbo, it will be more difficult for you innocent Oyigbo indigenes. Safe your land from IPOB migrant terrorists from Eastern Nigeria to Oyigbo land in Rivers state, Niger delta. God bless you. 12 Likes 2 Shares

This tribal conflict you igbos are looking for it will turn bloody oh and your people in Port harcourt will feel the heat. Concentrate on your igbo land, ikwerre was not and will never be igbo. Politics / Rivers State Government Set To Employ 5,000 Youths by IkwerrePikin: 9:00pm On Oct 28, 2020 |
The Rivers Executive Council has approved the employment of 5,000 youths into the State Civil Service. The approval was given at a meeting presided over by Gov. Nyesom Wike at Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday. Mr Kelvin Ebiri, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Governor, said that the government’s plan was announced to journalists by the Commissioner for Employment Generation and Empowerment, Mr Sylvanus Nwankwo. Ebiri quoted Nwankwo as saying that the youth to be employed must not be more than 35 years old. He said there were existing vacancies in the civil service needs: engineers, lawyers, medical doctors, technicians and other fields of the profession that the youths would fill. Also, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Paulinus Nsirim, said that the recruitment drive undertaken by the Wike-led administration would bridge the employment gap in Rivers. Nsirim also said that the council approved that civil servants that were asked to be working from home during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown were asked to resume work on Nov. 2. “Civil servants on Grade Level 1 to Grade Level 10 who have been working from t home because of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown are to resume work on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020. “ Similarly, bars that had been closed down since COVID-19 lockdown are to open, while night clubs will remain closed,” he said. According to the Commissioner, the council also approved a minor cabinet reshuffle that moves the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs to take charge of the Ministry of Works. He said the current Commissioner for Works would now head the Ministry of Urban Development and Physical Planning, while the commissioner he is replacing moves to the Ministry of Transport. Nsirim stated that the current Commissioner for Transport would now be in charge of the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs. The Commissioner also said that the council decided that the Rebisi Flyover would be inaugurated on Nov. 7 by the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/10/rivers-govt-set-to-employ-5000-youths/

Politics / Igbos In Port Harcourt Will Be Victims If Ipob Attacks Gov. Wike by IkwerrePikin: 5:17pm On Oct 28, 2020 |
I have good igbo Inlaws and friends in Port harcourt and other parts of Nigeria as an Ikwerre man, i love them no hatred but i want them to call their IPOB brothers to order before it is too late. I want to sound this warning to the Igbos led by Nnamdi Kanu who have ordered his IPOB members to attack Gov. Wike my brother outside Nigeria whenever he flies out for government function. 1. We Ikwerre people are warriors, we are not the kind of people you can play such silly game with and expect us to keep mute. So Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB in general should get ready for our response in our own way which may be too bloody for the Igbos doing business in Port harcourt. 2. Gov. Wike is one of the leader and defender of the Niger delta people, and Rivers state and Niger delta at large will not take it lightly with any group or region who attacks our own. 3. IPOB activities in Rivers state remains banned and any igbo who have refused to be peaceful and law abiding in Port harcourt doing his/her business and choose to carry out the flag of IPOB or hold meetings in any part of Rivers state will be dealt with as all Rivers state youths have been given the order to identify these IPOB miscreants and hand them over to the security agency. Be peaceful I repeat be peaceful and enjoy Rivers state while you do your business, enjoy our good roads and infrastructure else you will push us to the wall to make Rivers state unconducive for you. God bless everyone. 9 Likes 1 Share
