ckkris: The Bible commanded children to obey their parents IN THE LORD. Not to join them in traditional human sacrifices, oppression & all kinds of evil. The consequence is on to third, & fourth generations. Bible also warned parents not to provoke their children unto wrath. Please be careful, lest your parents, or spouse, treat you HALF as bad as Obasanjo treats his family. Using Igbo name won't work because Igbos would collectively condemn anyone that behaves like Obasanjo. What does ibo have to do with the thread. Ibos can never stand on a moral high ground against any ethnic group in Nigeria, not in this life time. parents selling their babies for money, children locking their parents in the wardrobe for years all in the name of money ritual, not to talk of armed robbery, kidnapping, drug peddling and all other vices known to man. These things happen in high numbers with ibos because their culture endorses it, the way smoking cigarette signifies emancipation into manhood for the Hausa teenager is the same way committing crime signify manhood for the ibo teenager. i'll remove the ibo name right away. 2 Likes |

Politics / Open Letter To Iyabo Obasanjo by IleIfe2(m): 6:36pm On Dec 27, 2013 |
My dear Iyabo Obasanjo, First off, it is still unclear whether or not you wrote that letter to your dad – ex-President Olusegun Obansanjo – circulating in the media. Your failure to come forward (through a neutral source) to affirm or refute the letter and its contents have forced many to believe that you indeed penned that piece. Personally, I’ve read the letter, and just can’t hide my disappointment. I’m particularly disappointed because everyone that has read it, and will ever read it must have had issues with their own dads at some point in their lives. Some even have more disastrous relationships with their fathers or parents. Some don’t even know their parents and earnestly pray to have somebody to call father, no matter how irresponsible he may be. I don’t know if you have ever been to the orphanages. Please do…You will understand. To tell you the truth, throwing mud at your father’s white garment in the village square is the least effective way of redressing such complex family squabbles. What you have done is sacrilegious. It shows bad upbringing and want of character. It puts a big question mark on the academic background and intellectual quality of the author. By all known cultural, social and global standards, your open letter and its contents are very inappropriate. I’m sure you are a mother, a busy mother for that matter. You have been a senator, commissioner, business woman et al. That shows how busy you must have been. That also shows you can’t boast of having been a 100% effective mum to your kids. There must have been times your professional work or political schedules clashed with your wifely/motherly routine. And as such, it will be wrong to claim that you have been there for your children and family EVERYTIME they needed you. But that doesn’t make you a bad mum. That doesn’t mean you have failed or neglected your motherly roles. That doesn’t also mean you love your family any less. I’m sure you worked hard and made all these sacrifices for the sake of your children; your family. How would you feel if they turn around and throw mud at you, like you are doing to your father? How would you react to a mail in the media tomorrow authored by your own son, accusing you of neglect, or prioritizing your political pursuits far above your motherly obligations? Would you rather rejoice? The same people you toiled for? I won’t bother to go into the contents of your mail, simply because its purely a private family affair, which ought not to be in the public domain in the first place. But please be reminded that your political progress and achievements so far were enabled and powered by your surname – OBASANJO! The plethora of lawsuits and trials you escaped during the Senate Health Committee scandals are thankfully attributable to your last name. You literally walked away from legal prosecution, and a highly-probable conviction. It wasn’t magic. So, the freedom you enjoy today, is just on borrowed time. It shouldn’t be. Let me conclude by advising that family disputes should never be used to settle political scores and mundane differences. Its wrong! It is not the duty of a daughter to win more enemies for his father. In fact, it is a TABOO. Many of your father’s real and imagined enemies must have been amused by your letter. But in their minds, they tremble at the mere thought of having a child like you. They would wish to be childless than to have a child that would bring them nothing but disgrace. Nobody wants that. And you too! Let political scores be settled politically. But don’t allow yourself to be used as a willing smear tool in the hands of forces against your own father. This is wrong!!! You have elders, uncles, brothers, sisters, and a host of relatives to complain to. There are traditional and cultural institutions for redressing such family grievances. Use them! Please remember that even the people you write and complain to, may have worse family problems. Look at all the great men in history: Prince of Wales, Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, MKO Abiola, Fela Anikulapo Kuti … name them…they all had family problems…You are not the first, and won’t be the last. Please my dear sister, don’t invite curses upon your innocent head. And finally, of all the commandments in the Bible, there is only one with a promise: Honour thy father and thy mother, so that thy days may be long. So says the holy scripture. She who hath ears, let her hear. May God help you to do the right thing… Goodbye sister, 1 Like |

Victor Amokeodo Now, getting past the issue of criticising Lamido's figures, which - we all agree - is not unfounded, there is something strange playing out here and over the wider social media that makes for very depressing reading. It makes me understand one of the reasons why Nigeria continues to be backward. And that reason lies with the behaviour of its educated people. In any society, regardless of the levels of illiteracy, if the educated people do what they are supposed the do, the country will move forward. But we "educated" Nigerians - especially as being played out here on NNP - are obviously not doing something right. In most developed countries, whistleblowing is valued, nay encouraged. It is never, ever discouraged or shouted down. Even the extreme ones who come out with all manner of conspiracy theories are tolerated because it is very important in a developed society that these contrary words are allowed to be heard. Besides, throughout history, some of these conspiracy theories or parts of them have turned out to be true. In a developed society, even if it is suspected that the whistle-blower might be making his/her revelation out of some kind of revenge or malice for his or her bosses, that is not relevant to the people that are affected by the revelation. All they want to know is: "Is there any element of truth in this?" etc etc. And you do not expect a whistle-blower to be correct or accurate all or even most of the time, but they are needed and valued very much. If you shout them down or discourage them, then it is to the detriment of your community. Now Nigeria is a bastion of corruption. We really need people to expose the rot in our government whenever possible. But it hardly ever happens. Someone was just telling me only yesterday that civil servants are so beholden to their political party bosses, that whenever the ruling party anywhere has a political rally, all the civil servants in the state MUST attend the rally or risk losing their jobs!!!! Haba!!! I could not believe it. **IN NIGERIA, IT SEEMS THAT WE ARE DESENSITIZED TO THE THINGS THAT SHOULD HORRIFY US AND WE ARE HORRIFIED BY THE THINGS THAT WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE**. In Nigeria, where we need whistle-blowers more than anywhere else in the world, an unusual thing happens: a whistle-blower reveals something alarming and very, very important. **INSTEAD OF PEOPLE TO CONCENTRATE ON THE ACCUSATIONS, THEY IMMEDIATELY SPECULATE ON AND CONCENTRATE ON HIS OR HER PURPORTED MOTIVES!** Unbelievable! Many people start accusing this man of all kinds of things - he hates GEJ, he is being used by OBJ, he is from the North and does not want south-south to have a second term, he is causing mass hysteria etc etc.. He is accused of "lying" because the figure is N10billion and not N49billion (please see some of the comments above)!!! How in the world does that equate to a lie He is accused of making "unfounded allegations" (please see some of the comments above). How the hell are the allegations unfounded? Has he not been proven absolutely right that monies that should have been remitted to the treasury have not been He as not even said that the money was stolen - and it well might have been - all he has said is that the money has not been remitted when it should have been. The fact that the figures are not accurate might make him somewhat incompetent (which is debatable), but how on earth does that make it a lie or unfounded? This is soooo depressing. I honestly don't know if he has any ulterior motives and what these possible motives might be and I couldn't care less. I just want to know where the money is. Whose account is it resting in and racking up interest etc etc. Sadly, our governments will continue to steal money in an unfettered way, secure in the knowledge that if anyone dares to criticise or accuse them, their legion of supporters will descend on the accuser …. The funny thing is that these defenders and their families are often the ones who are losing out from the corruption of those whom they defend. Lamido is a very wealthy man. His children will not suffer if N49Billion or N10.09Billion or N12Billion is "unaccounted for" in our coffers. But most of those attacking him will be affected in some way. It just beggars belief! Man, the reaction of our "educated" people here really depresses me. But it has given me a clearer understanding of how it is that we are where we are as a people, today. It also shows that while we are arrogantly talking about "educating the masses" it is really we who have to first educate ourselves. I also realise that the salvation of Nigeria - if that ever happens at all - will not come from the likes of most of us here in NNP. It will come from a group of people who think and act in a very different way from the way most of us here are doing here. Let us not kid ourselves. We are not the answers to any important questions. We are failing our country and will probably fail just like our parents' generation before us. I honestly don't know Lamido's motivation - if he has any - but I say to you that his motivation is irrelevant, as long as there is a modicum of truth in his accusation. And is there not a chance that he is just being genuinely anti-corruption Now, potential whistle-blowers will be watching nervously in Nigeria because they realise that in Nigeria, whistle-blowing is a very thankless task. The people - for whom you are trying to save some money or reveal some important other information - will turn on you and heap allegations, abuse and aspersion on your person! And after all that, even if your allegations turns out to be true, the perpetrators will not even be brought to justice, anyway! HOW DEPRESSING IT MUST BE FOR ANYONE WHO TRIES TO DO THE RIGHT THING IN THAT COUNTRY. No wonder we are so wretched. The reason is not a mystery. It is easy. Look in the mirror. Read the pages of NNP. Nigeria we hail thee. That above comment on "mass hysteria" from AAT particularly made me sad. I will not normally mention a name, but I am sad because I usually agree with most of the things he says and he strikes like the kind of person who - if he were in Lamido's position and spots some irregularity - will do whatever he can to expose that irregularity. But then, I am thinking now, perhaps I am wrong. In a country like Nigeria where - as we speak Boko Haram is murdering people (yes, it happens every single day, even when it is not reported) - women are being raped, children are being killed for body parts... as we speak armed robbers are raping and killing families all over Nigeria... children are lynched and burnt to death you are complaining about "mass hysteria" over a question that needs to be asked anyway? All those horrible things that should keep you awake at night - children being lynched and burnt to death - you seem desensitized to it and you are complaining that there is "mass hysteria" over this Where is the mass hysteria anyway Who has been burnt to death or beheaded over these accusations Where? Who? Please show me. I am waiting. Man, at this very point, I actually feel that there is little hope for Nigeria. Maybe we should just break up into bits and hope that the part that we end up in turns out decent. But even that is unlikely to happen. We will probably just end up like south Sudan or Central African Republic. And the people most to blame will be our lazy, arrogant, ignorant "educated" people. |

Politics / I’m A Thorough-bred Yoruba Man – Obasanjo by IleIfe2(m): 4:45pm On Dec 20, 2013 |
My father, who was by every measure, the most successful farmer in the village and in the Ibogun area, was a proud Yoruba man and he told me about Oduduwa, the founder of the Yoruba nation. Papa had heard this story from his own father, Baba Alarobo, who had heard it from his father, Baba Elesin. Papa said this story had been told for hundreds of years in our family in this ‘father-to-son’ way. Although, my father never stopped teaching us Yoruba culture, proverbs and tradition, he made us also respect the language, the culture, traditions and way of life of other people living in the village. For the first time since some Yoruba leaders alleged in 2007 that his biological father was not a Yoruba man, immediate past President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has opened up on the matter. Following comments ahead the 2007 polls, that the South-West, through Obasanjo had held power for eight years and as such should not expect power until 40 years later when the other five zones would have tasted power, some Yoruba leaders alleged that Obasanjo was biologically an Igbo man. According to them, Obasanjo’s father was Onyekwelu from Onitsha in Anambra State and so his reign should be viewed as an Igbo reign.Unlike Obasanjo, he did not react to the allegation. However, he has done so in an unusual manner via a book on him entitled: Baba’s Story: Nigeria is 50,” authored by a Ghanaian, Abyna-Ansaa Adjei. The book was presented, yesterday, in Lagos. Political history of Nigeria Obasanjo, in the 207-paragraph book, traced his ancestry and the political history of Nigeria. Speaking on his childhood, and growing up days, he said on page nine of the book: “I was born in a village called Ibogun-Olaogun in what was then Abeokuta Province and which is today part of Ifo Local Government Area in Ogun State. This village is only 30 kilometres from Abeokuta. As a child, I lived in Ibogun-Olaogun with my parents and my younger sister, Oluwola. Our childhood was a simple one spent in a typical Nigerian farming settlement. Our village had less than 50 huts built with mud walls and mostly thatched roofs and the only jobs at the time were farming or petty trading in farm products. “By age five, I had started going to the farm with Papa and that was when he began to teach me about the history, culture and traditions of my ancestors and our land. Our village, though small, was composed of other ethnic groups such as Itsekiri, Urhobo, Igbira, Hausa, Igbo and Ijaw who were also either petty traders or farm hands. My father, who was by every measure, the most successful farmer in the village and in the Ibogun area, was a proud Yoruba man and he told me about Oduduwa, the founder of the Yoruba nation. “Papa had heard this story from his own father, Baba Alarobo, who had heard it from his father, Baba Elesin. Papa said this story had been told for hundreds of years in our family in this ‘father-to-son’ way. Although, my father never stopped teaching us Yoruba culture, proverbs and tradition, he made us also respect the language, the culture, traditions and way of life of other people living in the village.” With these words, Obasanjo has replied his opponents. Also quoting from the book Obasanjo also said: “Let me tell you more of what I learned about the Yoruba history. Oduduwa was the eldest son of King Lamurudu of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Mecca is the centre of the Islamic world. Oduduwa worshipped idols instead of practising Islam. The elders of Mecca were very unhappy about this. There was a fight and King Lamurudu was killed and so Oduduwa and his men had to leave Mecca, making their way west. “For ninety days and nights they travelled looking for a new settlement. They finally stopped somewhere, in what is present-day Nigeria, and built a town called Ile- Ife. “My cousin, Taiwo, told me another story about the Yorubas that his grandpa, my Great Uncle Adebayo, had shared with him. This story regarded Oduduwa as son of Olodumare, the Yoruba creator-god. Olodumare had sent Oduduwa to earth to create dry land over the water and, by so doing, founded Ile-Ife. It is, therefore, no surprise that many Yorubas regard Ife as the centre of creation and the cradle of civilization. “Oduduwa’s eldest son was called Okanbi. Okanbi had seven children who became the pillars of the Yoruba nation. Okanbi’s third child became King of Benin. When Okanbi died, his older children got the lion’s share of what their father left. Cattle, wives, money, royal beads and the crown were quickly shared. His youngest son, Oranyan, was given only bare land. “However, Oranyan soon became the richest amongst his siblings. This happened because to get any land to build or farm, the older siblings had to part with their ‘riches’ of animals, servants, money or royal beads. Oranyan then founded Oyo and became its first King. Today, if you visit Ile-Ife, there is a stone pillar marking where this great son of Yoruba is buried. This pillar is called the staff of Oranyan. Other ethnic groups “My father made sure he taught me about other ethnic groups in Nigeria. My childhood friend, Adamu, with whom I played all my childhood pranks, was Hausa. His grandfather, Papa Buba, had moved from a place in the North called Kebbi to settle in our village, long before I was born. Oduduwa is to the Yoruba what Bayajida is to the Hausa and Daura in Katsina State is their origin. Chukwu was my other childhood friend in the village. He was an Igbo, the son of Papa Nkechi. Papa Nkechi was a palmwine tapper in addition to being a farmer. “The Igbo people make up one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria. My father told me the story of how the Igbos came to settle in Igboland. The divine King, Eri, is said to be the godfather of the Igbo civilization. He was sent down to earth by God who, in the Igbo language, is called Chukwu. When he got to earth, it was watery and swampy. There was no dry place to set his feet, so Eri told Chukwu he had had a very rough landing and, as such, had settled on top of an anthill. Chukwu sent a blacksmith armed with fire and charcoal to dry the earth. Eri then settled in the middle of Anambra valley. |

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN (GCFR) ON THE STATE OF THE NATION BY ‘YEMI SAKA December 18, 2013 His Excellency, The President, Commander-in-Chief, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abuja. RE: STATE OF THE NATION Few days ago, the media went frenzy and our nation’s polity was heated up due to an 18 paged letter written to you by former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. This was not borne out of the sheer length of the letter, but some grave allegations levelled against your person and office. I am not unmindful of the mixed reactions that greeted the letter, it was the somewhat validation of such allegations that was kafkaesque. I will not castigate you for the improved political fortunes of some opposition parties at elections as former President Obasanjo did, as a Patriot, I consider it a good democratic value of yours which will only deepen our democracy. You are not a People Democratic Party’s President, but the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and you swore to protect the Constitution and abide by it. Your action(s) is not only constitutional, but selfless as a true leader. I will not also blame you for the crisis rocking the PDP, I will not add to the pressure or the call for the removal of the Chairman of your party. I am not a member of the PDP and I can not ask you to do what is fundamentally wrong. Bamanga Tukur was duly elected in compliance to party guidelines and rules, no President or Governor has such right to remove him, it will only amount to gross abuse of office. I do not believe you influenced the release of Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, or the quashing of the conviction verdict of Chief Bode George, these were pure judicial flip flops; legal milieu. We all witnessed the era of “Garrison Politics” imposed on the PDP by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo through Sen. Ahmadu Alli, this gives credence to why many insist Chief Obasanjo lacks the moral standing to accuse you of any wrong doing. Mr. President, before you reply the former President, I will like to state affirmatively that the former President has been vindicated. The reactions to the letter exposed how polarized we have become as a nation under your watch. As a concerned citizen, and irrespective of my political affiliation and ideology, I must accept the fact that you can exercise your constitutional right by seeking for re-election, but I will like to highlight some issues that if are not clarified, Sir, you are undeserving to hold any public office in the land, no matter how little. Mr. President, I will like to bring to fore three (3) issues that if not addressed and future occurrence guard against, you should not only forget about re-election, but should be ready to bear the burden of responsibility of compromising the sanctity of our nation’s sovereignty. 1. BREACH OF PROTOCOL: Taking a cursory look at your administration, I say with utmost conviction that no one has demonstrated brazen disregard and breach of protocol like your Excellency and your wife, the First Lady. The first of such was your kneeling down in front of Pastor E.A Adeboye of The Redeemed Christian Church of God at the Redemption Camp on December 31, 2010. Another instance is June 30 2012, you were snubbed by the Oba of Benin at his palace in what was described as a desperate move by you to improve the fortunes of your party at the gubernatorial polls of the state. It was believed that you felt the visit would signify endorsement of your party’s flag bearer by the Oba of Benin. I hope you are aware that as the Commander-in-Chief, you do not have to wait on people, people wait for you and ought to be seated before you make your entry at any event. The last demeaning breach of protocol by you was on July 9, 2013 when on a state visit to China, you were received by Assistant Foreign Minister Le Yucheng. Mr. President, in strict compliance to protocol, as the Commander-in-Chief, you are to be received by the President of any country you visit. Concession can be given for a Vice-President to receive you if the non availibity of the President is made known to you and adequately explained, not a junior Minister. The list of breach and brazen disregard to protocol by the First Lady were; - On August 25, 2010, the First Lady at a state function in Rivers State charged at the Governor and grabbed the microphone from him while he was addressing a crowd. This could be classified as an assault on Governor Rotimi Ameachi of Rivers State. - On January 23 2012 , she was at it again as she stepped out of the plane before you did and was acknowledging protocol at the JFK airport when you went for a United Nations summit. 2. STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM: We have had what I can classify as a “sustained state of national insecurity” but there has been an astronomical progression under you watch. In his letter to you, former President Olusegun Obasanjo boldly asserted that you are sponsoring the training of snipers in Korea to neutralize 1000 opposition figures; a killer squad. This only validates an unconfirmed reports that, towards the build-up to the PDP primaries of 2011, there were arms build-up and stockpiling in the South East and South-South; Abia and Akwa Ibom were the states speculated. It was further speculated that all they were waiting for was if you would not be given or won’t get the ticket, they were to strike and push for a breakaway. It was further alleged that you were a major financier of this agenda and had the backing of two great nations.. Also as part of the agenda, militants that have not been rehabilitated were sent to training in South Korea under the guise that they will be used as ‘Coast Guards’, this was never made official because of their sinister agenda. This claim can be said to have been validated with Tompolo being awarded the contract to secure our nation’s waterways. I am of the opinion that the huge budgetary spending on National Security, rather than curb or drastically reduce the state of insecurity, has only fueled it. Sir, according to unconfirmed source, an average “other rank” is paid N5,000 daily as “out station” allowance on paper, but are paid a meager N500 daily, those making the profit as windfall from such shortfall will never want the insurgency to end anytime soon. Sir, I remember how you hastily exonerated MEND (Movement for Emancipation of Niger-Delta) over the October 1, 2010 Independence day bombing. Henry Okah made some grievous allegations which he claimed Mr. Orubebe and Deziani Allison Maduekwe had a fore knowledge of the event. The SSS (State Security Service) was quick to announce at a World Press Conference that Chief Raymond Dokpesi was arrested in connection to the bombing due to having connection with suspects already in SSS custody. A claim the Director of Publicity of the SSS denied at another press conference 10 days later. As we speak, Henry Okah is serving time in a South African jail for a crime you had exonerated his group and by extension, exonerated him. It became the modus operandi of the SSS to pick up anyone who is either critical of you, your style of governance, and the sloppiness of the SSS. Classical examples are Sen. Ali Ndume who was picked up and charged to court just few days after moving a motion for a passage of “vote of no confidence” on you on the floor of the Senate. The other is Dr. Nazeef of Kogi State University. I will not like to go into declarations by the SSS over Boko Haram. There was a declaration that a Former Mauritanian President was the “mastermind” and financier of the sect. There was another one that it was a former Head of State, and an idiotic one that it was started by some student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa in Bauchi. While these are going on, Asari Dokubo keeps threatening our national security and sovereignty, and at my last check, he has not been invited for questioning. On November 25, 2012, the most important Military formation and institution in the country witnessed a serious security breach which bears it all; instrument of the state is being employed to terrorise the Nigerian state. On December 2, 2013, a similar attack was carried out on an Airforce in Maiduguri. Sir, it is laughable, stupid, and scandalous how the “insurgents” beat all the security checks and on gaining access to the hanger, all “they” could destroy were decommissioned crafts. Lastly, your Excellency, during your last media chat, you were asked by a Nigeria from Social Media if Shekau was dead? Your response was so unpresidential and depicts huge knowledge gap. In your words you said “I can’t tell you for sure if Shekau is dead. Anyone that tells you Shekau is dead doesn’t know what he is saying. I don’t know how these operations are carried out so that is why I can’t tell you if Shekau is dead or not”. Sir, as the Commander-in-Chief, your Service Chiefs are to update you with what is called National Intelligence Daily Briefing, National Intelligence Estimates, Special National Intelligence Estimates. Sir, I say with utmost conviction that you play politics with our national security, and any nation that plays politics with her national security could as well kiss her sovereignty ‘goodbye” it is just a function of time. 3. WHOLESOME CORRUPTION: I must acknowledge the fact that you did not bring corruption into Nigeria, as a matter of fact, a lot of administrations have been accused or either promoting corruption to an utopic state. Sir, I must also state here that if you leave office, that will not put an end to corruption, Corruption is endemic in Nigeria, but one achievement that can not be taken away from your administration is the making of corruption being perceived as a standpoint of your administration and it be given an official cover. I said “wholesome corruption” because both moral corruption and graft are being shielded by your administration. Moral corruption because I can not rationalize how you can grant pardon to Major Bulama that was sentenced to life imprisonment by the late Gen. Sani Abacha’s administration for sexually molesting boys under his watch as a Commandant of Command Secondary School Ojo. He was found wanting of forceful pederasty. Something that all religious and societal values consider as sin and immoral. Also I found it ridiculous that you can grant the former governor of Bayelsa state Chief Deprieye Alameisgha pardon. I am fully aware that the prerogative of mercy is vested in you as the President, but on the ground that “he has suffered enough” is so insensitive, and morally bankrupt. That you can personally intervene in the matter of Asari Dokubo to secure his release from the authorities of Benin Republic while being held on charges of gun running is appalling. In the third quarter of 2012, Dr Olusegun Aganga, minister of trade and investment, wrote a letter to you over some missing $1.6 billion crude oil export. The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi recently just raises an alarm that the NNPC failed to remit the sum of $49.6b, a whopping 76% of accrual oil revenue, and as we speak, no arrest has been made. No one has been sent on terminal leave. No one has lost his portfolio. The EFCC is inactive. The EFCC is not even chasing perceived opponents. It so inactive that it merely exist on the pages of newspapers. With the recent revelation that the agency is cash-strapped, it can be misconstrued as a deliberate effort by your administration to effect the strangulation of the agency so that corruption can go unchecked. Mr. President, all the issues I have raised in this letter have not only unleashed untold economic hardship on Nigerians, it has rubbished our foreign policy and threatened our nation’s continuous existence as a sovereign state. RECOMMENDATIONS: Mr. President, in a total departure from the norm whereby you are only castigated, I will be coming up with recommendations on how things can be rectified, how our nation can be repaired. 1. I recommend the immediate removal of the Chief of Army Staff, the Director-General of the SSS/DSS, and the Director Publicity of the SSS. 2. A huge cut in the budgetary allocation to national security and combating terrorism. 3. An immediate disbanding of the Joint Task Force. 4. An inquiry into the allegation of the shortchange in the welfare package of the personnel of the JTF. 5. An investigation into the possible involvement of Mr. Orubube and Mrs. Deziani Allison Maduekwe. 6. An immediate arrest for questioning of Asari Dokubo in a bid to ascertain the level of threat he is to this country. 7. A total overhauling or change of your protocol team. 8. A presidential fiat to the EFCC to probe the NNPC saga. 9. A proposed bill should be sent to the National Assembly to move the supervision and control of the SSS/DSS to the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, this will guarantee independence and eliminate executive interference. Mr. President, if and when the recommendations or a semblance of it is adopted by you, you are not only rebuilding the confidence of Nigerians in you and your administration, you will be starting the repair of our country and have secured my vote and services to get you re-elected. Sir, I do not await a response or demand a response to this, a positive disposition, and assertive actions is all I need. Good Bless Nigeria. Long Live Federal of Nigeria. Yours faithfully, ‘Yemi Saka. Cc: Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida(Rtd) Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo(Rtd) Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar(Rtd). Lt. Gen. Aliyu Gusua (Rtd) Col. Politics / Goodluck Jonathan's Democracy - Always Pushing The Reset Button On Corruption by IleIfe2(m): 7:15am On Dec 19, 2013 |
Stella Oduah is quietly reprimanded and given a second chance to continue stealing? Alams coated with Oladipo Diya, Major Fadipe and others are pardoned. Farouk Lawan is still a law maker and a stounch member of the lower house's integrity group. Corruption cases against subsidy thieves, ex-governors and ex-Ministers will be withdrawn. Tompolo , Boyloaf and Asari contracts will be withdrawn and awarded to oil producing and Pipeline host community Chiefs and youths. Abdulrasheed Maina and Co will be forgiven and assigned to other government agencies. Mrs Jonathan's money laundry records will be wiped clean? And a big slap was landed on the faces of well meaning Nigerians two days ago. Bode George was cleared of corruption by a supreme court panel, the judges argued that prosecutors at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had no evidence of Mr. George's intention to commit fraud at the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) where as chairman of the NPA board, he was caught presiding over a contract paddy-paddy bazaar. Hamza Al-Mustapha, a once feared murderer is a freeman all in the name of politics. When is James Ibori going to be released? I'll assume in the name of Jonamocrazy and politics, a convoy of private jets will pick him up from Heathrow or Gatwick airport like they did with "Alhaji" Mujaheed Asari in Benin. Finally, The president is ready to declare his assets, though he and his minions might be richer than Nigeria by the time he decides to make that decision. Its a blog, So if you're a narcissist, Don't click |
