have you tried with a solid dish?

No.....I got only a fibre 1.8m dish and 1.2m solid
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Ilish(m): 10:06am On Nov 15, 2013
gkw: ok , I hav this First Strike MF 1900 satmeter which makes it easier fo tracking so what I normally do is simply go to lyngsat charts pick on any frequency and hav fun. I found 11296H27500 to be the strongest @58% quality.

Gkw

give us pictures and the whole issue will be easy.I have tried that sat with my 1.8m fibre dish but to no avail.

even without connectin d lnb connector it show lnbf

The transistor TIP 43 is blown off....

trek4000: Lunsat can you confirm that I can get Astra 2f on 28 degrees in kafue, etcwest says he is able to get it with 80% picture quality in Luanshya.

Its very easy.....get 36a first....then go down a bit to your left ....just about 20 cm down and left of 36a when you are standing behind the dish.

It's quiet easy to get even in Kafue

iykmora:
nah..i did all that already. I even removed d lnb connector from d box, it still displayed lnbf on d decoder. My bro told me it started after a lightning strike. Can a technician rectify it? Thanks bro!

Its a small problem. One if the TIP transistor is flyed...it needs to be changed.

George_D:

@odilibe,
Back in the days, it used to be that we were all out hunting for the latest keys to open Showtime, ART packages, etc. In fact I bought my starsat decoder specifically for that purpose. However, it didn't take me long to discover that there was nothing special in all those locked channels we were all killing ourselves to watch. The same excitement you derive from a free MBC2 station is what you get from a locked Granada station. And, once you allow yourself to be sucked into this whirlpool of darkness, it never ends. You always have to be on your toes looking for the latest softcam, the latest dongle, the latest biss, the latest CCW, etc. It becomes a cat and mouse game of scrambled today, unlocked tomorrow and vice versa. This in my opinion is not what FTA should be about. With clean FTA you don't have to worry about your favorite stations been scrambled. You don't have to waste precious time hunting for keys all over the internet. You don't have to face the embarrassment of explaining to that eagle-eyed neighbor of yours why the champions league match he came to watch in your house suddenly went off and with the decoder showing $$$ signs. You don't have to spend so much on internet subscriptions (that you don't need) just for the sake of keeping that little badger updating your CCWs for you. I could go on but I'm sure you get my drift.

Bro George D

I disagree with you. Darkside is not only only unscrambling pay tv but goes beyond that.If ART restricted its besm to North Africa only, buying a 2.4m dish for fringe transponder is itself darkside. The reason their signal is restricted is because of territorial rights ...it's like using binoculars to watch a football match from a hill.

Playing it clean here is not good. Just from those gadgets we all use like Strong ,DM,Technosat etc which have softcam key edit are a sign of Darkside initiation. We should just use ordinary decoders if we want to be free from the grip of cccam, dongle, etc.

Viva real FTA

Lunsat: Some people have been asking on this thread how to search for a sat when its not on their channel list. this is where a channel editor can come in handy. There is a nice tool I have used to solve this problem, which is called NDFedit 1.65. you can get this executable file from http://crosat.us/upload/index.php?&direction=1&order=rating&directory=Strong Receivers/Strong WIZKID Files/Strong 4 Middle East. There are afew other types and versions of editors on this site but I have only used the NDFedit 1.65.

You need a computer to use this application. In addition you need to know how to save the channel list from your STB to a flash disk, and you need to know how to upload a channel list from a flash disk to your STB. The channel list file is saved on the flash disk in CNDF format and the NDFedit application enables you to open it and edit it.

With the NDFedit application you can do the following:

1. for satellites, you can:
-Add, Rename, remove, assign positions (degree), and arrange order of satellites in your channel list.
-Change LNB settings i.e LNB frequency, LNB type, and LNB power on/off
- Change diseqc settings i.e assign a sat to a diseqc port, choose the commands which the stb should use (diseqc 1.1 or USALS)

2. Edit TPs for each sat:
- Add, edit or delete a frequency
- give a channel name to a frequency
- Change the polarity of the TP i.e Vertical, Horizontal, circular right, circular left
- Change the FEC i.e 1/2, 3/4. 7/8 etc
-Change the modulation type e.g DVBs, DVBs-S2 or auto
-Tell the STB whether or not tehe frequency is prone to drifting so that it can catch it better

3. This aplication is even supposed to allow you to update your channels list with updated freqencies for each sat from lyngsat or flysat over the internet, though I haved used this aspect of it.

All this is done on your computer and then you upload the channel list to your STB and you are done. With this application you dont need to have useless sats and TPs clogging the memeory of your STB slowing it down and causing it to hang. You dont need to have channels for one sat being scanned under the wrong sat name. You can even have KU band only channel lists and C band only channel lists if you are only interested in one band type only.

Just thought I should share this.

You change Satellite name and position too by:
MENU -> INSTALLATION
SCROLL TO MOTORIZED SETTING
CHANGE DISEQC MOTOR TO USALS
SCROLL UP TO SATELLITE
PRESS THE RED BUTTON FOR RENAME
AND RENAME IT
SAVE AND EXIT
SCROLL DOWN TO SAT DEGREES AND EDIT
SAVE AND EXIT

profsomebody: GUD EVENING GURUS. MY 69X DECODER DEVELOPED A FAULT AND HAS JUST BEEN REPAIRED BUT THE ENGINEER SAID THE FAULT WAS DUE TO *MYTV* UPGRADING, HE THEN ADVISED ME TO REMOVE MYTV DISH (THE DISH FACING DOWN) FROM THE DISEQC. I HAVE DONE THAT WITH THE HOPE OF AT LEAST BEING ABLE TO WATCH JOY TV AND CO. MA CHALLENGE NOW IS THAT I HEARD THAT MULTI TV HAS MOVED TO ANOTHER SATELLITE. PLS, WICH SATELLITE DO I SCAN TO WATCH MULTI TV? And is it safe if i watch AMOS?

He was not sincere. If it was as a result of "Over The Air " software download, all you need to do is to remove that TP which carries the software MENU > INSTALLATION >OTA MENU......change the satellite and to.....let it be in red and save. Your decoder will never again do an auto OTA.

The satellite has no problem in this regard.

odilibe: you are totally right...satellite arc/elevation/azimuth round the globe are not same ...if you are using a motorized dish or ACTUATOR/HH MOUNT DISEQC MOTOR down here, you need to move dish left or right in-order to track another satellite unlike up-ward or down-ward movement....while dish facing astra, hotbird etc..are not even looking at the sky. grin grin

No wonder I reluctantly avoid answering questions about satellite tracking. The principle of Clark's Belt applies here. That's why it's imperative that one knows the location of whom you want to assist track that satellite lest they spend the whole day in the sun tracking a wrong bird

I think if it's astra u are after, after ew36, u go up and to ur right while stanind at the back of the dish. Not down and to ur left. Happy xmas bro. Regards.

Our locations matter most.Am in southern hemisphere and you 2 guyz are in northern hemisphere. Here Astra is below 36e to the left when you are standing behind the dish.
