NaijaMemes: I am not a leftist. I am a liberal. Liberalism is an umbrella term. A UK liberal is still different from a USA liberal. I am not picking sides. That I am liberal does not mean that I do not have some Conservative principles as well. Ok |

joseph1832: You even have time answering that one, who likes going through the internet to get useless points to argue with, without even bothering to look at the date of what he's reading to use to argue. The very reason I call him a Google Arrow.
Mind you, this is the same person who lied here he travels around Europe every now and then and thinks being able to afford a movie ticket, makes him better than his father. I know his type and don't take them seriously - he's like an NPC that just gobbles what the news serves to him. Tbvf I hate Trump and I say this very often - he's narcissistic but he's doing what he can not because of a shadow government and groups of lobbyists dictating what goes on in the United States but because it'll benefit his own image which in turn benefits the US. I was once a leftists but when I decided to leave my bubble I realised choosing a side is dumb🤷🏽♂️ and puts you in a box. Bro is saying abortion - they decided to rename it pro choice because they don't want it to be called pro-killing a baby |

abduleez1: So it's not a fact then. Since no one is actually stating their political opinions...most especially when they're still going to vote for their convictions without anyone knowing shït.
Despite Hollywood being known for left leaning Adam Sandler and Kurt Russell still gets movies despite being Republican. Besides liberal ideas very much fuel Hollywood creativity in many ways conservatism might constrain such artistic vision. It's a FACT bro 🤦🏾♂️ and liberalism is actually less open-minded than conservatives right now - have you seen Hollywood movies right now the fact that they need Diversity Executives just to operate is damning of itself |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Illusioneffect(m): 12:17pm On Nov 05, 2024 |
NaijaMemes: Hollywood is mostly liberal for many reasons. Creative people are usually liberal because they want freedom from tradition to express themselves. Also a lot of gay people are in arts. Furthermore, IT/technology people are usually liberal as well.
Now why would they like people who want to hold them down with Conservative (traditional) ideas?
Why would a gay man vote for someone who wants to vote in homophopic Christian values?
Why would a liberal woman want her body to be regulated by anti-abortion supporters?
Why would Hollywood people, who are very diverse racially, want to vote for Conservative values that favour one race?
All in all. I'm loving it that MAGA people are being ignored in Hollywood.
And to answer Joseph1832's question, it is ironic that the state law in California (therefore Hollywood) prohibits making job decisions based on political beliefs but many Conservative states do not.
The fact is many actors and residents in Hollywood are already liberal so a good Conservative actor will be up against many better liberal actors I really don't want to discuss politics here at all 😆 I do that everyday already but you're just capping. I'm a moderate and I know more than you do on both sides- you're still using 2016 talking points bro, you should read the news and upgrade - 'Republicans are Nazis' is the new one now and everything you said is a talking point just to win an election - no sane person in the United States actually believe it. Take care sha |

IjeBos: Is there peace in the Middle East? His whole approach to the Middle East was trying to negotiate peace without the Palestinians while giving Israel everything they wanted. There is a phrase called calm before the storm. We are seeing the storm from his actions.
And google what Macron has been saying about America in the age of Trump. Macron wants Europe to protect themselves and make their own alliance as the US can't be trusted ti be reliable. Much of our Power emanated from the fact that people relied on us for Protection.
The US is losing some power and with Trump and his isolationist rhetoric will lose more. If the United States had not slowly isolated Israel and gave Iran billions, none of this wars would have happened! There was peace in the middle East until Biden's disastrous Afghanistan exit Trump is not for Europe but for America🤷🏽♂️ if this is not your opinion, it's fine. |

IjeBos: Dynamics changed this year. 2020 was Covid. More Dems took precautionary measures, so less went to the polls and so a lot did early mail in voting. Also Trump and Co. pushed Republicans to vote early and by mail this year. Lastly, their may be some crossover in Republican women voting for Dems.
Too many moving dynamics to be able to look at the Early vote and make any guesses this year. Will have to look at the voter level detail. You're right about moving dynamics. This election will be different from any other, Street the Dems propped up their pawn dumping Biden it's safe to say it'll be a surprising year for the US. Let's see how it goes |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by Illusioneffect(m): 3:36am On Nov 05, 2024 |
IjeBos: I understand your sentiment, but let's be honest, If Trump wins, the US will struggle and will be weaker for it domestically and esp. Internationally.
I think a Trump win will see the US lose a lot of Power on the World stage. European countries were very nervous during his last presidency and I think Europe will try to roll more independently as Macron has been talking about since Trump took office.
A 2nd Trump win will be worse for the US than Brexit was for the UK. I understand your sentiment and I believe it's wrong. The US never struggled with international power under Trump. Of course most world leaders hated him because they knew he was tough on them paying their own dues. People forget he defeated ISIS in less than a month - something Obama created and struggled with all through his second term. He signed the Abraham Accords that brought peace in the middle East ensuring no new wars started during his presidency unlike our president right now. Besides, you actually think the US is not losing power already?? Really? The news has decided not to talk about BRICS 👀 looks like in the next 4 years there'll be a lot to talk about them |

ObaIgwe1: Very good!
1. What happened that made the gap close is that a lot of Republicans did not vote by mail in 2020 because Trump told them not to, he called it fraud. But this year Trump encouraged mail in ballot. Many of those Republicans who have sent in their mail in ballots voted on the election day in 2020 so this year, they wont vote tomorrow.
2. In 2020 there was covid so many preferred to vote by mail. This year is different, most Pennsylvanians vote on election day because there is no early voting in PA.
So keep your main analysis till after the election tomorrow. There's early voting in PA and Harris is leading but don't forget she's leading by a very low margin to Biden. Remember Republicans almost always vote by person. So like you say till election night we'll see how it goes. Good luck |

abduleez1: You say wetin?? Where's the stats to back this up. I’m in the United States and I literally know the climate of Hollywood. You definitely won't get roles just because you've voiced your political belief as a Republican. Most actors never identify as Republicans even though they're. I have so many examples that's almost uncountable of actors who have voiced there opinion on Trump and were fired from Hollywood and never got you work again |

Baddestguyp: In terms of story, Arcane so far is better than Blue Eye Samurai.
I'm not saying it's an overall better show...but Blue Eye Samurai had a simpler story of revenge...
Arcane on the other hand has multiple stories of several characters which intertwine. Having multiple stories doesn't make a better story. Blue Eye Samurai has a better plot and more humane world building- a story that's complex yet understandable and still different |
