This was us about 3/4 weeks ago vomiting and watery stool. We were admitted for about 3 days. Infection was borderline and malaria was scanty so was treated for malaria and was given flagyl. We didn't even tolerate our drugs or ors so our flagyl was suppository. We resumed activities after about 4 days.

My baby have been passing through this and today is the 4th day. Vomiting, watery stool, lack of appetite, fever etc. The watery stool was twice the first day, I wanted to watch it to see if it is actually diarrhea and it continued 2nd day. We started ORT for him that night. He cries heart breaking cries from sleep etc. I added zinc for him in the morning then took him to hospital.
Malaria and full blood count test was conducted and both were positive.
We were told to continue ort and zinc, malaria and antibiotics drug were also added.
I am surprised that he is still stooling. This morning, he has stooled 3 times. I give him ORT after every stool. Some ppl said it is teeth but he didn't pass through this when he grew his first set of teeth at 4months. He is practically living on ORT . He already lost .5kg and now 9kg. The fever has stopped , the vomiting reduced, but I need the stooling to stop asap. The stomach makes noise before the stool.

Some people add MMR and chicken pox but my hospital gives this at 15 months

Watch your baby closely. If you notice any change(s) head to A&E such as increased temperature, swelling , excessive crying, change in mood, withdrawing any change whatsoever. You can go to the hospital and request a scan. But most times they are just fine.

Chei! So sorry o mama. Hope he did not crash on his head. Crashing on the head can cause brain injury without external wound. Few babies who crashed with their head end up with seizure disorders long after the accident. It is easy to forget the cause after several years of the incident. And this is very difficult to treat by conventional methods.
If one does not want to take a chance of 'waite and see' then it is better to throw a few coins in the dustbin than spending endlessly for a frustrating condition that does not go away.
Preemptive hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot) is the only solution.
Preemptive hbot will also work for babies who have also suffered from perinatal birth asfixia, prematurity, low birth weight, jaundiced babies, hypoxic anoxic encephalopathy, cerebral palsy and brain damage.

It's called sleep regression. Happens at some stages (specific weeks/months). It's normal and just a phase. It will pass.

Mamas in the house,abeg help me with my questions oo. My DD is six months and she doesn't sleep. During the day,she takes naps that lasts less than 10mins,like three times. At night,that is a different story. She plays half of the night and sleeps like she does during the day. Is this normal abeg? Won't this affect her adversely? Then again,some weeks ago,my husband gave her mildly cold water to sip and since then she doesn't accept any water that isn't cool. The worst is when she sees one drinking water from the satchet. Thank for this piece. Most of us will be quick to judge and condemn the lady because we have devoted husbands taking care of the home. She not only caught him cheating, they also found her wallet in his truck meaning they were in touch while she was struggling to make ends meet. Between he could have married someone else why the same lady he cheated with. Quite a number of marriages are failing now cos of them lazy arse men. No woman wants to take care of the bills alone and get cheated on

Haba! This is too harsh a judgement. She lost her womb because she caught this same man cheating and acted rashly. She spent all her inheritance helping the ingrate in his yeye tests and experiments which never produced results. The ingrate never held a job to help her in the running of the house. Let's not be too quick to judge her. She always held her own even when her sisters were criticising him. She only cracked cuz she thought he was cheating again. The guy was too quick in moving on. Why didn't he fight for her as she fought for him all those years she was feeding him? Yeah,she had her faults but she was right to feel bitter. She prepped him ready for the other woman to reap the harvest. No woman can stand that. There is just a fine line between obsession and insanity.

Maybe its time to pack up the push chair. Climbing is one crazy, annoying, frustrating milestone that nobody talks about. Why is it not even mentioned as a milestone.
I know that feeling when you're trying to keep her from Creche cuz you do a better work than creche then you have to take her back the next day with a lip injury
