Maybe opposition will wake up to see that they are not the only Nigerians. They never hold themselves accountable, they will say "Nigerians are demanding, it's APC versus Nigerians", etc. As if the majority in APC are from Malawi.

As an Abuja resident this is not the first time we are undergoing this democratic process but this is the first in a long time that we having a pensive, tensive atmosphere like The final a of World Cup between Nigeria and Brazil....Then we have APC stirring things up to scare people as if this is gonna be a straight fight and not a sure landslide, why?...It must be The Peter Obi effect.
You have it pensive because you brought a double barrel to a fist fight. You're bringing two national presidential candidates to campaign for a local government position. Who does that except the clueless. As expected a crowd would gather for them, not for the candidate. You're still cry bitter when you see the disparity in the results and the campaign. Everything is not gragra but some brain work.

Is it now that the opposition deem right to be discussing about electoral process?

They didn't even consider the logistics part of INEC.

Election is just a year but the opposition figure are not even sure of which party they will be contesting not to talk of who to vie as president.

They have failed to plan, inevitable plan to fail
They exact reason why they want chaos. You remember those unserious students that used to hope that heavy rain will fall or teacher will get sick or exam be cancelled since they were going to fail anyway? It's same with these fellows who have lost it all, they want to use anything to scatter the country.
If insecurity no work, they try coup, or Trump, or economy, or tax bill or PIA or INEC or even El Rufia detention. When they lose tomorrow's elections, you will still hear them threatening protests and occupying Abuja and Lagos. These are all known schemes of failures organised by their daddy the devil himself.

Warm eba guys, the electoral act has been signed, not subject to your inconsequential debates and kicks again. BTW, there's no objection to e-transmission. There's only a provision made for options if and when it fails.

PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN Asks Tinubu To Rescind Executive Order On Oil Revenue by Image123(m): 7:37pm On Feb 20
Kukutente23:
I don't see the point you're making
Acts of the national assembly can also be challenged in court. The fact is that an executive order cannot override or amend an act of the national assembly. That's an aberration. Where an executive order conflicts with a law passed by the national assembly, that executive order is illegal to the extent of the conflict.
That said, it was an APC led executive and NASS that passed that PIA and y'all couldn't stop capping about how PDP couldn't do it in 16 years. It's same PIA that's being trashed now and y'all are still rejoicing. Like someone said on another thread, you guys are not supporting this govt based on conviction or principles but simply anywhere belle face.
You can't see the point since your daily bread seems to depend on being in opposition. Try and use your conscience though instead of this deliberate ignorance and misinformation.

Section 162(1) of our constitution states:
The Federation shall maintain a special account called “The Federation Account” into which shall be paid all revenues collected by the Government of the Federation...
This means:
Oil revenues belong to the Federation
They must go into the Federation Account
Revenue is then shared among federal, state, and local governments.

This is perfectly in line with the president's executive order and shows he's obeying the law.
The PIA has some loophole or contradiction to the same constitution. The NNPC Limited (now a limited liability company under the PIA) retains certain funds under the Petroleum Industry Act. The President quickly blocking the loophole through an executive order until the NASS will amend the PIA over months is simple intelligence and perhaps commonsense.
30 % management fee retained by the NNPC and 30 % Frontier Exploration Fund and other funds being brought directly to the Federation (FG, State government and LGAs) makes more sense. Like i earlier said, if for some reason you prefer the other option, go to court or NA. They are the ones that can challenge or align. Making protests and strikes over everything is foolish and obviously not working. Do something that works, better still something patriotic.

Not really. The only similarity is that APC will win by a large margin. Plus, the losers will again cut a frustrated, hapless and teeth gnashing figure for us to behold again.

You'd notice Amaechi stayed very far away from these. He knows the nightmare he has at night because of Wike.
Like Obi rightly said here, in a rare moment of revelation, anybody who quarrels with Wike doesn't know what he's doing.

PoliticsRe: Soludo Hosts City Boy Movement South East Team In Awka by Image123(m): 1:00pm On Feb 20
owobokiri:
Two problems with Soludo:
1) A frightening disdain for Peter Obi that has the potential to lure him into doing or saying anything just to unravel Obi..

2) A vaulting ambition to access every top public office before anyone else, because of his dibbilitating hubris that makes him think he is the smartest kid on the block.

As a governor, he hasn't been specifically brilliant, yet he hasn't been a disaster either. This means that he stands the chance of winning the people over on his political climb if he plays his cards well..

But dude just can't take it easy. He is so invested in Abuja politics that he is desperately ready to throw caution to the wind. And it is that desperation and its accompanying recklessness that will prove to be his archilless heels..
The Prof can clearly see that Obi is taking his region backward by decades. He's a patriot.
PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN Asks Tinubu To Rescind Executive Order On Oil Revenue by Image123(m):
Kukutente23:
Stop writing ignorantly bro
Tinubu opposed anything government does just for the fun of it
He opposed fuel subsidy removal but implemented it on day 1 he took office
Executive orders can't override an act of the NASS in a sane Republic. Executive orders are meant to cover lacuna or give directive on implementation of laws not to override laws. The SC said this recently in the case the states brought against Buhari when he gave state assemblies and judiciary financial autonomy via an Executive order.
Pengassan is a stakeholder in the industry duh
Executive orders can be challenged in court
If an order exceeds legal authority, courts can strike it down.
It can be reversed. The president can revoke or amend them. It doesn't need legislative vote, but it's easy to challenge in court and change compared to law. The PIA is obviously having issues regarding funding through NNPC. Mr President is open to the court challenge, which is the proper thing to do, not threats from union and opposition.

PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN Asks Tinubu To Rescind Executive Order On Oil Revenue by Image123(m): 7:51am On Feb 20
i expect Atiku and Obi to follow PENGASSAN suit. They think opposition is saying no to anything government does.

Imagine a union leader that doesn't understand executive ORDERS. Him say Executive order cannot override the provision of a law. It's why it's called executive order duh. It's now left to mainly the Senate or the courts (Judiciary) to oppose IF they reason it's wrong. It's not the job of pengassan and opposition to demand.
