ChybuzzDD: Can you listen to yourself? And we're talking about a contract that has already been awarded!
So, how did they determine the cost they used in awarding the contract then?
By guessing One, estimate, two, budget. That's why you can hear next year that an extra amount of money is approved for a project. Obviously, you don't have experience of handling anything big. Try listening to experience. Not just commentaries. |

Afriifa: People be asking what played out on Arise TV. Umahi was triggered by Oseni's unprofessional media practice. But as a public servant he ought to have handled it better. Umahi could have simply told him the cost per 1kilometre road, and explained the technicalities behind the overestimated budget. What does Oseni mean by "reporting me to Mr President?" Who does he think he is? Rufai Oseni feels journalism is about having a loud opinion on subject matters that defy his pedigree. There was a day this guy was arguing an economics subject with an established scholar in the name of journalism, even me that was watching felt triggered. Finally, whether Umahi is right or wrong about his claim of professor in practice, it sha depends on who is judging. Umahi is a seasoned engineer. where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering in 1987. His early career spanned various engineering roles, including stints with major firms like Saipem and SCC Nigeria Limited. Before his governorship, Umahi held several leadership roles in the private sector, including co-founding Norman Engineering & Construction Nigeria Ltd and leading Brass Engineering & Construction Nigeria Ltd. He is well-known for his tenure as the Governor of Ebonyi State, serving from 2015 to 2023. Managing a small state and delivering. He is the current Minister of Works. If you are the one, will let someone who has no knowledge no pedigree in your field talk to you in the manner Oseni did in the name of journalism? Umahi is not a lawyer or media talk person. As an engineer, he should have a media person doing the talk for him. In media, you need the gift of gab, not competence or honesty. Those are not enough in the face of propagandists and people who are pretending to sleep. |

The cost per kilometer of a 750km project cannot be determined. It can only be estimated or averaged. And conditions may change. This is not building a kiosk or chicken hutch. The terrain and soils are different. Some will need more work or fillings, some different contractors, some will be bridge. Cost of materials and labour from place to place, weather, some diversions, some unexpected challenges, all differ. We should focus on intelligence, professionalism and patriotism instead of theatrics and media trials. |

Politicians and religious leaders are friends, but religious leaders don't call them to order. Only Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah makes efforts to challenge these politicians. God will never do for any man what He has given him the power and intellect to do for himself! Classic ipod mindset. |

WhizdomXX: I literally said I take my words back. I know OBJ wanted to plant governors in the southwest then but seeing Ladoja was also PDP I thought It favoured him. How deep was Tinubu's role in GEJ's election in 2011? Tinubu and ACN soft-pedaled their support for Ribadu, indirectly benefiting Jonathan. Similar to what Atiku was expecting from Obi in 2023. Buhari would have benefited from the 'wasted/split' votes of the SW going to ACN. Tinubu struck a political understanding with the PDP: in exchange for not aggressively challenging Jonathan in the South-West, ACN was allowed to consolidate control of Lagos and other South-West states in the governorship and legislative elections. This arrangement helped Jonathan secure significant votes in the South-West, contributing to his overall victory. |
