Zionmdde: They don't need to mandate or force anyone The UN ILO conventions are law in over 150 countries. So it becomes illegal to deal with dangote who is known for violating human rights
You think dangote doesn't know all these, why didn't he explicitly state he sacked them because of unionism
You think every country is like Nigeria that doesn't care about human rights violations, go and read the ESG policies of foreign companies and come back You shifted goal post. i addressed your post that said "all companies abroad will be mandated to wipe his organization off their supply chain". |

wirinet: Even if they sign it, it's would not hold in a court of law. You cannot sign an illegal agreement and expect the court to honour it. You cannot sign away your fundamental human rights of freedom of movement, thought or association. You're right on this. Let's see how it plays out though. It's a big dilemma. |

ernieboy: and u that your region has seen presidency how is your life better? Lolz, this fellow thinks it has anything to do with my life. This is the point you continue to miss. The Presidency is not to make your region or life better, it is for the betterment of the whole country. No wonder many people feel their unbilical cords and fulfilllment in life is tied to the president coming from their region. The president does not need to come from your region or religion for the country to work, meditate on this. |

Zionmdde: Obviously you couldn't have included your last sentence, you completely showed your level of exposure. Let dangote be found guilty first, and see how all companies abroad will be mandated to wipe his organization off their supply chain Nahh, the UN has no such power, plus it's twisted. Mandating free companies and countries/governments, not to associate with Mr D (mandating non association), because he mandated non association. The irony. |

Zionmdde: Nah you are the one who need enlightening because I don't how low I can go to reply what you just wrote there Pengassan cannot impose unionism on dangote and his workers. At the same time it contravenes human rights laws for dangote to victimize workers who willingly joined union
UN will descend on any employer found victimizing workers because they joined union. because in the universal declaration of human rights, every worker of dangote has freedom to choose to or not to join union without fear of Losing their jobs
And asking me if UN can do anything to dangote, then you need more education It's okay then. BTW, i didn't ask you if UN can do anything to Dangote. No, they cannot. |

Zionmdde: First dangote will lose billions He has already sacked the poor man. So other poor men will come fighting
Then when pengassan takes the matter to UN, he won't even get the crude supply sef. Because his business become known as modern slavery Go and read ILO conventions well Companies cannot be forced to join a union or have their employees join one; this decision rests with the employers and workers themselves. Dangote will simply recruit people who agree/sign not to join unions. Companies do this all around the world. You cannot hold the country to ransom because of unionism and selling imported goods. BTW, Dangote has lost billions before, it didn't show. How many Nigerians can afford to lose 10,000 naira without pain? How many can afford a hike in fuel price and the scarcities that will likely follow in a faceoff? ILO or UN cannot force people to join union, please be enlightened. |

Zionmdde: Dangote, it's time to start dancing the dance
Even though the news is not correct and it's not possible to shut dangote down as pengasson does not have that power
But they will soon play drums for dangote. You wake up and sent people home without caring how you not only damage their lives but that of all their dependents Don't you guys think ahead? Don't you see that it's still poor people that will suffer this more? Dangote will simply increase importing crude which will likely lead to increase in price of petrol. SMH |

My dear, every state government in Nigeria regulates recognition, instruments of office and government interaction with its traditional heads. Just a useful tool for the powerful guys. He makes money doing what he does, which is investigative journalism and activism. Opposition politicians would use his platform from time to time for their own gains. Lolz, who is after Sowore? Sowore is the one always after everyone except himself. i really like him and his activism, but as President? Mba. He only knows himself. Everyone else is wrong except him. Even in his party, he's everything. Someone who consistently can't calculate that he can't win is not fit to lead Nigeria. We need more matured minds, not SUG style nso gbu mindset. |

MrSly: The Yoruba's hate against ndi Igbo is the more reason why igbos will always be ahead along side with progressive Yorubas like this Oba Yoruba of Enugu, et al. We welcome and respect traditional institutions of every tribe and accomodate sincerely without noise. Govt in Lagos has arrested an Igbo man because he iclaims to be eze ndi Igbo na Lagos. Shame on tribal bigots. Kings are approved by government all over the country. See case of new Ibadan king with the governor of Oyo, Ganduje with Emir of Kano saga. You don't just arrogate title and positions to yourself, follow due process. Is he properly coronated according to law? Is he using the right title? That your friends or street call you Ooni or Eze doesn't mean you go bragging around that you are King of Lagos or President of Nigeria. |

Racoon: Meanwhile, this is another classical case of harmonial and humanitarian angle to ethnic friendship between the Yorubas and the great people of alaigbo.
This is a Yoruba Oba reigning supremely in alaigbo( having came there in his adulthood) with no ethno-religio-regional discrimination against him but imagine what has been happening in the opposite side.
I also remember a lots of Yoruba Profs in UNN (especially music/education/GST departments) and UNEC( business admin, college of medicine - Prof Bankole Olusina etc). The owner of one of the best school in Enugu is a Yoruba man. Lolz @ reigning supreme. Do you even know what that means? This is just a fellow with a chieftancy title from whoever. Allegations is NOT glaring corruption or failure. Nigeria suffering inflation at the initial stage after removal of subsidies that were suffocating the economy was well expected and projected, not failure. We've had great wins and recovery.
