PoliticsRe: Insecurity In Imo: All The Indigenes Are Culpable, Says Maurice Iwu by imaxdocuments:
Useless old man. MASSOB and IPOB has always used Owerri and Imo state at large as its headquarters from there they move around the region. Uwazuruike from Imo state is the founder of MASSOB that gave birth to IPOB led by Nnamdi kanu. All the MASSOB/IPOB/ESN members that are causing problems in the region are mainly from Imo and Abia states. The IPOB members that have always came to Anambra before Obiano chased them away were all coming from Imo and Abia states. Abia and Imo states are the hotbeds for IPOB/MASSOB/ESN.

[s]
Abagworo:
The question should be why IPOB was unable to penetrate Imo when Okorocha was Governor. As at then they used to come from Anambra and Abia for parade and left without being able to establish permanent presence. Their sit at home never worked cause Imo people weren't interested as at then. The unemployment and poverty rate in Imo State has doubled since exit of Okorocha in 2019 while the cancelation of free education by his successors has created more out of school jobless youths.

Anambra has the best airport in igbo land. Anambra international airport is now the international gateway to the eastern Nigeria. Envious bitter people from other states camping here to spew their lies. The whole of Anambra is full of interesting places from Awka to Onitsha and all parts of the state. If you are looking to visit the only truly international airport in the region, then visit the Anambra international airport

Anambra has the fastest developing capital city in the entire igbo land with beautiful flyovers, roads, best international conference centre, etc. Anambra is the only state in igbo land that's also building from scratch another brand new city- Awka Millennium city which is poised to be the best neighbourhood in igbo land. Awka international conference center is the largest and most iconic in the entire eastern region. Anambra has the most interesting places to visit in the entire igbo land.

[s]
Mathoj:
The truth of the matter is that Anambra state has no capital city yet. I wish a massive virgin area would have been developed gradually to be the modern capital city of reference. I am aware of the Three arms Zone but no attention is given to it and I do not think it is massive enough. The International Conference Centre, Stadium, the three arms of government, Town/Shopping Centre with Massive paved motor free open space (There should be Park and Ride outside the town centre) Cinemas, Clubs, Ecumenical Centre, Museum, Igbo or Anambra Hall of Fame, 4 to 5 Star Hotels and Corporate or Zonal Headquarters of companies etc should be in this fresh mini city.
When this is done, then there will be MUST VISIT special place in the state. As of now, if I visit Nigeria, there is virtually no ONE STOP SPECIAL PLACES OF INTEREST in Anambra state in mind to go to.
I hope I will not be insulted for this suggestion.

Don't waste your time on clowns. Awka is generally a beautiful organised city and the fastest developing city in all of the entire eastern region. No city in entire east has roads with covered drains except Awka and no city has 6-lanes inner city road in the region except Awka. Anambra leads generally.

AmericanQuarter:

Is that the only part of the city? What about this this too? Though I am advocate of more infrastructural advancement and developments across Anambra. Next administration will continue where Obiano stops to expand the infrastructures in the city and across the state.

Governor Obiano Visits Legacy Projects, Charges Contractors On Timely Delivery

By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has assured of delivering critical infrastructure, especially the legacy projects before exiting office in 2022.

Governor Obiano was speaking when he embarked on inspection visit to the ongoing Anambra International Conference Center, ICC and Awka City Stadium.

The governor was accompanied by Chairmen of Traditional Rulers Council in Anambra Central, South and North.

The first point of call was the Awka City Stadium where work is still steadily ongoing, while Chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Mr Tony Oli, was on ground to recieve the governor.

Similarly, the governor visited the ICC where it was observed that the roofing sheet installation is one hundred percent completed.

Speaking at the Center, Governor Obiano who stated his commitment to his vision and mission of making Anambra viable, expressed satisfaction at the pace of work and determination by the contractors handling the ICC project.

He spurred them to make remarkable difference before his next inspection visit, saying that when completed, the center will majorly complement the passenger and Cargo Airport, as Anambea will be able to host huge international conferences with enormous economic benefits.

He equally expressed optimism that existence of the center will motivate ndi Anambra who are in the hospitality industry to explore more investment opportunities in the state, thereby growing the revenue profile and GDP of the state.

Conducting the governor and entourage round the facility, the Commissioner for Housing, Architect Michael Okonkwo, gave detailed explanations of different aspects of the project including the foyer, pre-function areas, main exit hall, banking hall, commercial kitchen hall among others.

The contractor of the project, Mr. Mark Tu explained that the ceiling hanger for the roof, acoustic ceiling, mounting of light cables, will commence soon, saying that the lift and escalator, are already on ground and will be installed soon.

Chairmen of the Traditional Rulers' Council in Anambra North, Central and South, Igwe Ben Emeka, Igwe A.C. Oragwam and Igwe Samuel Obika commended the governor for his commitment and focus, assuring of their continued prayer, even as they asked ndi Anambra to keep supporting the governor to deliver on his mandate

The real reason Airbus is retiring its A380 superjumbo jet
The real reason Airbus is retiring its A380 superjumbo eGetty Images NewsThe Airbus A380 is the world's biggest passenger jet plane – and the plane many might imagine when thinking of splurging on a first-class seat, getting a free business class flight with their company or even relaxing more than in many other planes in economy – the double-decker plane offers more comfort and stability than its rivals.ometimes this goes to the extreme. Private flat-bed suites, an up-in-the-air lounge and cocktail bar, personal mini-bar at each seat – Emirates even built shower spas on board of its fleet of the double-decker planes. “We’ve developed the most passenger preferred aircraft in the world,” Airbus head of business analysis and market forecast Bob Lange says.o why has Airbus decided to kill itThe main reason the company will halt production of A380 after 12 years, from 2021, is the low number of planes sold. “In the end, you have to face facts, and we could see that we were building A380s faster than people were ordering them,” Lange says. Emirates is the only airline to significantly invest in the plane, making up more than half of the 300-odd orders for the superjumbo jet since its launch in 2007. In total, the airline has 110 A380s in service, and 13 more on order. But even the Dubai-based airline decided to cut its final order by 39 planes, from 162 to 123 aircraft, on Valentine’s Day this year – a move that effectively signalled the end for the world’s biggest aircraft as Airbus then announced it would stop making the planes. “The greatest success of the A380 has been its symbiotic [12 year-long] relationship with Emirates,” says Lange. But it also played a role in its downfall. “Emirates has been more successful with the aircraft than anyone else, but ironically, because of that success, other airlines had a hard time finding markets with enough volume to compete,” Lange says. As it announced its decision to stop buying the superjumbo jet, in June, Emirates also said it would purchase 40 smaller planes from Airbus – the A330-900 and 30 A350-900 aircraft. The deliveries should start from early 2021.Apart from Emirates, a number of other airlines, including Lufthansa and Air France – airlines of Germany and France, the main manufacturers of the Airbus A380 – have also decided to stop buying the planes. Lange says that if an airline can fill an A380, the plane will generate $150m (£124m) of revenue per year. But the challenge is filling all those seats. The two 49.9 metre decks of an A380 can, at their maximum capacity, contain 868 people.Lufthansa sold six A380s back to Airbus earlier this year, saying that they were unprofitable. Qantas cancelled its last A380 order in February, just like Emirates, keeping only 12 jumbo jets. Qatar Airlines, which has ten A380s in its fleet, has announced it will switch to Boeing 777Xs from 2024. So what went wrong? The A380’s capacity was supposed to be its biggest advantage. “Most of the world’s major airlines told us they needed a larger aircraft to cope with traffic growth and congestion,” says Lange. Bigger planes meant fewer terminal gates would be needed to accommodate more people.lus, more seats meant more passengers, which meant lower fares. Everybody prefers flying direct, but passengers’ biggest factor of choice is the ticket price. So even though the superjumbo jets – with their whopping 80-metre wingspans – could only travel between big city hub airports, passengers were willing to deal with a stopover to pay a little lessAnd once a plane ages, the cabin should be upgraded. The more seats there are to upgrade, the more costly it gets. That was one of the reasons Air France, the first European airline to fly the jet, decided to ditch A380 on August 5. The estimated cost of upgrading economy and business classes, at over $45 million (£37m), was just too much compared to investing into newer aircraft instead. [
mktinsight post=102219577:
Kotoka airport new terminal is 25,000 sqm or roughly the size of the international airport terminal in Port Harcourt built to support 1 million passengers. It is at least 5 times the size of the Umuleri airport terminal. The fact that they stopped at 2.3km for the runway shows you that length depends on what you need an airport for. Kumasi is a domestic airport for flights within Ghana and the sub region. 2.3km is good enough for smaller jets particularly the workhorse of the industry the 737.For Nigeria it shows you how practical people think not illiterates. A 3.4km runway may support a 747 or Airbus A380 but how many airlines use this huge jumbo jets anymore? How many 747s land at Lagos of Abuja?
]That was just one of the reasons the French airline decided to retire all of its ten A380s by 2022 and instead replace them with 60 smaller Airbus A220-300s, with 149 passenger capacity.
