I too was on a trip that, by road but travelling in Nigeria now is ALLLLLLLLLL by God's grace.

I want to also commend the pilots for being professional and determined to land safely with no one injured.
If you've ever driven and had issues with the road or car and you were able to bring the car to a safe stop or still reach your journey, you will know that those pilots did well

Religion has not destroyed some countries that are religious like the Vatican, Saudi and India.

Faith is a way of life and must be embraced.

But Nigeria's biggest problem is corruption.

It's that corruption that has affected religion.

It's just like saying school is scam or marriage is scam. They are not. But the corruption that has entered school and marriage is what is making people to be angry. So also religion.

But I believe government should be separated from organised religion. This should not affect relationships with clergy like they do with traditional rulers. Or the national anthem or school curriculum sha.

I agree we need unity and must shun bigotry and any form of divisiveness.

But you see some people are not in the faith they were born into (take Morayo Afolabi-Brown as an example and that's ok).

Some people were not born or formed in the tribe of their parents but where they were born (take Oga Dele Momodu for example, he's from Owan but identifies as an Ife man and that's ok).

So it's not always that we are what we are because of the circumstances of our birth.

Now that NYSC is in the news, let me tell my experience a long time ago while serving in the core north.
During platoon duties in the kitchen we were made to awake and cook earlier so those who were fasting could eat early.
Na so one girl start to dey complain say how e take concern us after all no be camp them say no religious song for the loudspeakers from camp radio? She talk say how their fast take concern the rest of us wey no dey fast. Na so all of us begin dey beg the girl make she no loud am oh.
They come drag the girl commit before kasala go burst for camp, chai.
After camp I dey come from my PPA come do one or 2 things for camp when next batch come, na so I see say Lent don start but e come be like say nothing dey happen.
Based on say they not too dey loud 40 days fast for Lent na so camp dey as normal.
Well I come see say even those wey dey fast for Lent no too dey talk am come out.
E come be like say many people sef no dey fast for Lent or remember say fasting dey till Easter.
But this 30 days fasting eh e dey shut down many things for that side oh, no be only school
