Religion / Re: Is it Right To Buy Candles, Bintu, St Michaels Perfume For Prayer As Christian? by IME1: 9:35am On Feb 28, 2021
undecided in my humble opinion it is not necessary
Many things are borne out of traditions of men, our former customs and sadly spiritism which God does not like.

1 Corinthians 10:23 “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is edifying or expedient.

If you find yourself in a place you can't access candles and the likes what would you do?
You may become agitated, anxious and doubtful that your prayers will be answered.

One thing lockdown taught the wold is that God is not in houses built by men, or in observations and journeys, mountains and memorabilia, bread, meetings, funds and all, but God is right there in our hearts, homes and lives.

Stay well.
May God in His mercy answer our prayers according to His holy will, amen.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Saif al-Adel: 'The Sword Of Revenge' Al Qaeda's New Daredevil Leader (Photos) by IME1: 9:16pm On Feb 26, 2021
Terrorism is a hydra headed monster, it's head keeps growing out
It's like cutting an earthworm, it doesn't die until you put salt

No matter if any country succeeds in arresting or killing this man
Sadly another one will arise and follow his steps.

There's been speculations that Shekau had been killed, but ISWAP and Boko Haram persists.
It's not about Shekau

It's sad because it's a vicious cycle. It just keeps rolling.
You need to see documentaries and leaked videos of how little children as young as 5 are already being trained, taught to hate and indoctrinated.

Many of their children are pushed to the Western world to school, give birth, obtain citizenship, run for offices, change policies to their favour, destroy foundations and principles and that's the end of Solomon Grandi.

Do you know who the mayor of London is abi was? It's not about his religion but his extremism.
Its not about religion or tribe, but extremism and the devil.
After all Rev King claims to be a 'Christian' and his followers are spending millions on birthday ads for him. Was he a Christian leader before incarceration? Could he have been regarded as a servant, follower or obedient child of God?

Its not about religion or tribe.
Many Christian missionaries who go to opposing regions are killed despite their good deeds for them. See China, see Somalia, see Congo and see Yemen.

Some Imams and lay faithful of Islam have helped to shield and hide people of other faiths (Jews and Christians) during attack on the "infidels"

What is it then?
Extremism.

The extreme CAC member who won't marry from Apostolic faith. The sunni girl who won't marry the shia man. The wawa father who won't give out his daughter to the osu man. The Ebira who won't vote for the Okun. The Catholic who would say other denominations are inferior and the Assemblies of God member who'd say all catholics don't know bible and worship Mary.

Fallacies. Extremism. Hate. Vile. Herd-mentality. Bandwagon. ITKs

Someone will come and say who am I to judge?

Common sense and your conscience will judge you?

Ordinary common sense will reveal many truths to us but because that truth sounds like what's from the Bible we quickly condemn it, reject and blaspheme it, just to prove to be neutral, secular, woke, atheist, anti Christian, logical or open minded. The fact is that there is the absolute truth.

You can't be open minded with issues of corruption, oppression, rape, ritualists or scam. It's sealed! One way road...

So how can you excuse a guy who scammed a random man using his ATM or BVN to pay his school fees and forget the victim who happens to be a pensioner who relied on that money for his daily upkeep and BP medications? You justify Osama bin laden, terrorism, kidnapping, forceful marriage, under aged marriage, destruction of other's livelihoods, imposition of their own in faith based schools, subtle jihad and conquest from a religion, just because you don't want to look bias and one sided! They are your neighbours, in laws, Co workers and helpers so you keep shut and wait for meat from the next Ileya.

Are you kidding me? You better take sides, even if people tell you that you are not open minded, you are partial, a bigot, unaccommodating and all the false narratives they've used to quench the spirit of many gullible Christians. Christians who like the seeds who fell on the rocks and thorns have been drowned by the world.

Stand for your faith and defend your Bible and it's teachings. God's word and be an ambassador for Jesus Christ, God's son, the light and only saviour.

Are you ashamed of being a man (eg Bobrisky), or a woman (because Mosdi says the ones in Nigeria are all useless including the seamstresses, lawyers, teachers, nannies, bakers, engineers, doctors, nurses, all and all his female relatives, which you laugh off as nothing)?

Then why should you be ashamed of living as a Christian? Why do you leave it in church like a garment and 'secularise' all through the rest of the week, online, at work, even at home and in your hood. Just so you won't be regarded as a bigot, simp, dull close minded illogical person, holier than thou or spirikoko?

Are you a Christian and you see an unrepentant sinner blaspheme and ridicule your faith and you keep quiet, you don't correct the person in love and stand for the right position? You don't do well. Even if it's in jokes, comedy skits, false prophets on the altar or on the political terrain.

Are you a Christian and a fellow Christian is being threatened to be killed by Boko Haram by live streaming and it doesn't touch you that this is a deliberate fight against the kingdom of God and you are not praying or speaking aganist it or condemning it or raising awareness about it at all? That's not right.

Are you a Christian and you feel because Reno or any other person you don't like like FFK speaks up for Leah Sharibu you won't do anything about her case? A Muslim girl was 'falsely' accused of carrying drugs in Saudi and the FG and Abike swiftly acted and got her released. Do you know how many Christians have been coincidentally falsely accused and had drugs planted on them in Malaysia and co who have been 'successfully' killed without any intervention by FG? See the xenophobic attack in SA, Ghana and covid19 discrimination by China against Nigerians from a part of Nigeria which government never spoke up for. Who's speaking up for the Obigbo community? Which news outlet, political party, NGO, celebrity, blog, protest match, church, adviser or group? No Gumi from the SS SW SE or NC?

If you think September 11 2001 didn't concern you as a Nigerian, think again. It was an attack on the world. An attack in a place they knew citizens from several nations will be in. It was an attack against a country that is carrying 'Christianity' on its head like a turban or tray of agbalumo, but is deep rooted in satanism, secularism and sin. Still they attack them in the guise of attacking the judo Christian God.

Imagine if someone killed your brother or neighbour thinking it was you, who he actually intended to kill.
Would you be happy? Would you heave a sigh of relief knowing that even if they missed you as their target, their intention has killed you already in their minds? No na

Finally, if you are Anglican and they kill a Catholic seminarian in Zaria, they kill you.
If you are in Christ embassy and they kill an RCCG member out on morning cry, they kill you.
If you are in GOFAMIT and they abduct ECWA members from Chibok or Sabo Tasha, they did it to you.
If you are in Deeper life and they ridicule Living Faith over what the Bible says, they ridicule you.

My observation is this,
When I type with my android and I type satan, they automatically change the s to uppercase.
When I type Jesus, they auto-correct it as jess, or leave it as jesus without changing the j to J.
They x the Christ in Christmas and Christianity.
They pause God in Multichoice.
They leave El Amin and attack schools for the low income earners in big Niger.
They leave the Indimis and Buratais and conveniently take the Dapchis.
They leave Akpos who had a 1st class and a PhD and appoint a Bawa.
They kill a Terwase who surrendered and embraced peace and was going for reconciliation and they leave a man named Sokoto who admitted to bombing the UN building.
They leave a Gumi who has robbed shoulders with the killer kidnappers and arrest an Obadiah the CBN man and summon him to Abj and Lag for questioning.
They leave southern Kaduna and Ulemo road before Auchi and instead hover their helicopters over Orlu

Politics / Re: Reno Omokri Disagrees With Sheikh Gumi Over Amnesty For Bandits/Terrorists by IME1: 5:07am On Feb 20, 2021
Granting killers and murderers amnesty is like asking a serial criminal for his allocutus!
What difference should it make?
Before you sentence someone you ask him what he has to say?
Of course he will say every sweet lie for you to have mercy on him.
But thereafter...

The truth is that the Niger Delta militants didn't rape,
kill or destroy outside of their lands.
I can't recall hearing they raped kidnapped victims
or went into other's lands and businesses looting.

They were given amnesty cause they had lost their livelihoods
to foreign oil companies who polluted their waters and pushed
them off arable lands, contaminated their air and prevented farming even on land.

They became jobless, hapless and conquered
by foreigners with the full chest support from the Nigerian government.

Now on the slip side, our Hausa Fulanis right from the get go and more outwardly in 2009 started Boko Haram which diversified to ISWAP, bandits, herdsmen, rustlers and what have you.
Up till today we don't know their pain or agitation.

But let's try-

Boko Haram - western education is bad as it teaches underage marriage, free acquisition and use of guns, drug abuse and use of tramadol, beastiality and video tech to send messages and footages of abducted victims.
In fact we should go back to stones and sticks.

Seriously? Is western education that is our problem, and we are fighting to attend mission schools in religious regalia? To learn what? What do they teach in conventional schools? Definitely not catechism or islamia. So what the fuss? You don't want to learn physics, literature and maths? Did western education teach me terrorism

ISWAP - they want a political region where Islam is the basis like the Arab world and circle with Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi, UAE, Qatar and the others Yemen and all. So they intend to displace Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon and CAR and others?

Seriously? Isn't that modern day colonisation? Is conquest still allowed? Can a sovereign nation just override another nation without qualms? See how China is battling Taiwan and Hong Kong. Or Russia battling Ukraine. Or Spain battling Catalonia. Modern day occupation! And we should just siddon look? That na dog name na

Bandits, Herdsmen, Rustlers - these ones justify their acts by quoting ancient degrees that Gowon and Co gave allowing them to graze from Futa jalon to the Atlantic undisturbed. Even if they have to pass the express roads and train tracks. They have right over anything their cows like to eat even if it's inside your pot on a stove in your interior village. If you stand against them, you dishonour the agreement they made with imposed leaders of old which you were not part of or privy to.
They say they have a right to kill, rape and destroy because - their cows were stolen, military are killing and resisting them, indigenes are not letting them graze, governors are making laws against them and not fulfilling their monetary promises, Buhari and other northern governors are not living up to their pre-election promises to them.

Seriously? Your cows are stolen by rustlers or military and you unleash your anger on all and sundry. You want to graze down south in harmattan and you destroy another's farm and livelihood? You mess up tarred streets with dung and say you are helping to fertilise the south? Our goats, poultry, manure, fertilisers are of no consequence then!
They had a pre-election agreement to soak dogs and baboons in blood, and the promiser didnt pay them as promised with lots of money and cows but instead left them with the guns, transistors and drugs and focused on empowering his children, Aisha, northern elites and his native country with railway and refineries to supply refined fuel to his conquered territory for now N180 and electricity tariff at N2000 for 54 units and N400 per 1 kg of gas (which is flaring and wasting but polluting the atmosphere in Port Harcourt and Warri causing soot)!

So is this how amnesty works?

Will you grant amnesty to Internet fraudsters or rapists or convicted politicians or protesters or jail-breakers or ...

If you were born at the time of Buhari's first time as head of state and you still used your full chest, intellectual cap and hand to cast vote to support him, data to campaign for him and online and offline platforms to malign others who didn't support him based purely on his past antecedents and bleak likelihood of future performance, you must humble yourself, admit your error and double your effort to stand against evil as Saul turned Paul went from undiluted evil fanatic to a pure zealous truthful missionary, Paul doubled his zeal for the right cause when he converted.

If we supported an Umaru from Katsina a Fulani, and a Mooshud from Ogun a Muslim (with a fellow Muslim vice)
Then don't zombie'arize by calling us bigots and tribalists when we stand 100% against a Muhammadu oko Aisha kevbe Nna Yusuf, if truly he's the one!
It's nothing personal. We don't hate. We are not biased. We will stand against even blood relatives and tribesmen and fellow faith men who do the same thing, worse or less.

Why can't we call a shovel a shovel?

The government led by Buhari and his 36 governors and FCT Minister have failed totally in security matters and multiple other areas - jobs, health, integrity, federal character, openness, corruption fight and price regulations (of food, electricity, pure water, school fees, fuel, diesel, kerosene, rent, transport, flight fares, all, even to get transcript!)

Please soro soke, me I have and I will

To protest or not to protest
To join or not to join

What is the question
What is the answer

Most governments are insensitive and tyrannical
No respect to human dignity
Money, cows and legacies, historical monuments and edifices are of more value than that guy sleeping on the road or that graduate looking for work or that freedom fighter wanting a better state and country.

Where is government when people are being kidnapped, raped, plundered and attacked by Herdsmen (mind you 99.9% herders are from a tribe who says it's their culture it's not me saying it) or attacked by boko haram and "bandits"?

But see as government is prepared ahead
Here they are proactive, battle ready, charged and financially motivated to KILL the unarmed, educated, enlightened, justified and tax paying sane members of the society.

I don't support destruction and riot. Whether politician's properties or fraudulently acquired properties but
NEVER SHUN, SILENCE OR PREVENT a peaceful protest or an honest airing of another's or one's mind, thoughts and ideas.

I stand with justice, peace and truth

PS: there are many countries with development, structures, money and all but they suppress freedom, liberty and freewill eg China, Russia, Arab Countries and Morocco, Rwanda, old Libya, among others.
There are those just like with development, structures, money and all but promote vile, evil and implosion eg USA, UK, Canada, France.

Nigeria is like a combination of both but without development and structure, while the money is in a large number of money-miss-roads and few number of good managers with milk of human kindness.

I'd rather a country free from oppression, abnormalities and ungodliness with thriving development
Than a concrete city with chaos, anarchy and doom.

Weep not child

Family / Who Was Joyce Carol Vincent by IME1: 12:49pm On Feb 04, 2021
Are you like me who likes to be by self most of the time to reflect, read, refresh and rest?
I met someone recently who stayed near me in the late 90s. He said he used to refer to me as the one who walks alone on the road!

Inasmuch as people can't define who you,
"Man know thyself!"

Are you gradually drifting into isolation?
It doesn't necessarily mean depression or suicidal tendencies.
It doesn't necessarily make you a snub or one with inferiority complex.

For me, my faith in Jesus Christ keeps me going in whatever situation.
In many occasions I've fallen in my flat with no one to help.
In one occasion I'd to send a text to my brother who stayed closest to me among my family members. Do you know it was the following day I saw "message delivered."
In another occasion I'd a domestic accident that was near fatal. Lying on the floor, I started discussing with my God, my Creator. I first thought of my mother then I told God that I've legion of family and friends who'd be willing to break my metal door and come to my rescue, BUT AS I LIE HERE, THEY DON'T KNOW.
I prayed to God to give me the enablement to rise, open my door, get my phone and call, the rest is history.

Fast forward to today. I'm currently in a training and I was getting bored so I decided to just check my Facebook which I hardly do. Really who uses Facebook nowadays? Insecurity and interest are major reasons. Anyways, I came across a post from someone which made me go deeper and read about this story below. I'm in a multiple air conditioned space but the cold that went through me after reading this story was more than Russian winter and Canadian autumn.

Kindly take time out and read this TRUE LIFE story below and have a review of your life and sensitivity.
I urge us all to be sensible, sensitive and loving.
Just yesterday I called my neighbour cause I didn't see her in our Full Gospel fellowship. I know she stays alone, she's retired. I could sense that gratitude in her voice that I called. Last week I called an 81 year old widow who used to be in my parish, just to wish her happy birthday, she was surprised I remembered and was grateful.
And on and on.

We can be sensible and allow people help us.
We can be sensitive and reach out to people, even strangers.
We can be loving and care for those in need; they may have money and lots of friends and families, but many are in need of real love, care and attention (remember that a thread that graced front page on Nairaland was about a man who willed his money and company to his maid and not his wife, because that maid 'saw him' 'cared for him' 'loved him purely' 'was there for him till the end in bad and good times'

Read please-
Joyce Carol Vincent (15 October 1965 – 21 December 2003) was a British woman whose death went unnoticed for more than two years as her corpse lay undiscovered in her north London bedsit.

Prior to her death, Vincent had cut off nearly all contact with those who knew her. She resigned from her job in 2001, and moved into a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. Around the same time, she began to reduce contact with friends and family. She died in her bedsit 21 December 2003 with neither family, co-workers, nor neighbours taking notice. Her remains were discovered on 25 January 2006, with the cause of death believed to be either an asthma attack or complications from a recent peptic ulcer.

She was in a relationship and there was a history of domestic violence.

Neighbours had assumed the flat was unoccupied, and the odour of decomposing body tissue was attributed to nearby waste bins. The flat's windows did not allow direct sight into the accommodation. It was a noisy building which may explain why no one questioned the constant noise from the television, which remained turned on until she was discovered.

Half of her rent was being automatically paid to Metropolitan Housing Trust by benefits agencies, leading officials to believe that she was still alive. However, over two years, £2,400 in unpaid rent accrued, and housing officials decided to repossess the property.

Her corpse was discovered on 25 January 2006 when bailiffs had forced entry into the flat. The television and heating were still running due to her bills being continually paid for by automatic debit payments and debt forgiveness.

The Trust also said that no concerns were raised by neighbours or visitors at any time during the two years between her death and discovery of the body. Vincent's remains were too badly decomposed to conduct a full post-mortem, and she had to be identified from dental records.

Police ruled death by natural causes as there was nothing to suggest foul play: the front door was double locked and there was no sign of a break-in.

At the time of her death she had a boyfriend, but the police were unable to trace him. Her sisters had hired a private detective to look for her and contacted the Salvation Army, but these attempts proved unsuccessful. The detective found the house where Vincent was living, and the family wrote letters to her. But as she was already dead by this time, they received no response, and the family assumed that she had deliberately broken ties with them.

The Glasgow Herald reported,

"...her friends noted her as someone who fled at signs of trouble, who walked out of jobs if she clashed with a colleague, and who moved from one flat to the next all over London. She didn't answer the phone to her sister and didn't appear to have her own circle of friends, instead relying on the company of relative strangers who came with the package of a new boyfriend, a colleague, or flatmate."
Interviewed people who had known Vincent described her as a beautiful, intelligent, socially active woman, "upwardly mobile" and "a high flyer", whom they assumed "was off somewhere having a better life than they were".

During her life, she met figures such as Nelson Mandela, Ben E. King, Gil Scott-Heron, and Betty Wright, and had also been to dinner with Stevie Wonder.

Religion / Re: Is It Bad To Sing Christian Songs In Secular Way? by IME1: 10:16am On Jan 31, 2021
smiley men and brethren...

Holy Spirit direct and counsel me and bring to my remembrance all that Jesus Christ has instructed, amen.

For who were neck deep in the world and immersed in secular music right from cradle and by the mercy and grace of God we are now born again, born anew, new creations,
It is easier to see things from the way of the world and the way of the world.

Everything is from God but not all things are of God.
God made angels, one of whom was Lucifer, he was gifted with music, as Michael is gifted with valour, but Lucifer fell. When he fell he dragged one third of the host with him. God gives without repenting (that is, once blessed with a talent, it's yours to do as you wish. It's for you to now use for evil or for God's glory, just like being blessed with children, money, wisdom, drawing or singing and others).

Lucifer became angry. Man was created, Lucifer became jealous and envious.
You that feeling you get when you were once on a high horse, toasted and celebrated with applause and adulation and another person rises and overtakes you? You feel forgotten and invisible?
Lucifer became the devil and made it his mission to destroy and counter all God was doing and going to do through His new creation- the world, man (covering both men, women and did children, all humanity)

Devil is never at par or a match for the power and authority and sovereignty of God. Devil cannot even stand God's arch angels and now we His new creation, who He has made more than conquerors. Devil wanted to use words to overpower Jesus during His temptation. He knew he couldn't fight Jesus. Devil was promising Jesus riches and glory that were already Jesus'. Devil knew was soon going to be Jesus' footstool and by extension ours for we who have received Jesus as Saviour and Christ have become co-heirs with Him.

The devil has been made our footstool. By the name of Jesus, that roaring lion can be chased away with his tail between his legs. If you don't believe, ask Daniel, Paul, Mary, Timothy, Abraham and even your friends who are now new creations. Once you know the power that is at work in you, the same power that raised Jesus from the grave, you will know that you can withstand the Devil.

The battle is finished at Calvary. All we face are daily and per second huddles and bumps on our pilgrim journey.
PLEASE READ OR WATCH PILGRIMS PROGRESS wink

The Devil whose time is so short wants to gather as many as he can deceive with words, actions, thoughts and situations into eternal separation from God and death. He doesn't care about Dolu, Musa, Cynthia, Ebi, Ifeanyi or Tewase. All he wants is numbers, vast numbers blindly walking the broad way to damnation, to his he'll which was originally only made for him and those one third angels who joined him.

Hell no. Never hell yeah.

Now Devil waters down many, in fact all of God's instructions and expectations.
He mocks, uses mirages, fake reports, high sounding words and teachings which are empty, shadows, semblance of the real deal, tainted holiness which denies the power of God, multiplicity of faiths and religion, hardships and all sorts to draw people from believing in Jesus.

For us in this times, the Devil uses the common ones-
'Who are you to judge'
'What makes you think you are the correct one'
'Where you there with Jesus over 2000 years ago? Have you been to heaven or hell'
'Religion is the opium of man'
'Christianity and the Bible are man-made and filled with contradictions'
'Even the people who brought Christianity have left it'
'Where has your faith taken you in this life'
'How are you better than...'
'Jesus said remove the log in your eye first' and all other ways they quote the Bible out of context and blaspheme the holiness of God like saying -
'David loved Jonathan even more than women, so God doesn't frown at same sex'
'Solomon had many wives and concubines and God made him the wisest man'
'Abraham was super rich so God makes money a sign of His presence in you'
'If pre- or extra-marital s.ex is bad why did God make sex'
'God created the weed and cocaine and all the substances people smoke and abuse, so it's ok'

Wow! Really?

Even music?

If you have not dealt with your old nature, the fallen Adamic nature of sin and taken up the new nature God gives in Jesus, you will not only battle with issues of secular music, silhouette challenge, drugs or alcohol, love for money, lust, unnatural urges, demonic passions, laziness, depression, disregard for life, violence and blasphemy of the Almighty God,
you will not have the Holy Spirit to direct you per time.
You will require human teachers, doctrines, dogmas and rulings on this and that for every big and little thing which your spirit and human nature and wisdom can not always answer or direct properly.

You need Jesus, I do and I have received Him.
We need the Holy Spirit, I too and I have received the Holy Spirit.
Hallelujah we are not left alone.
We are not candles in the wind, exposed to quenching or be blown here and there.
We know love for money gives root to all forms of evil.
We know music that doesn't edify us and glorify God is not for us.
We know suicide and murder are wrong.
We know s.ex is made for the man and his wife sipmpliciter.
We know we are not to abuse food, alcohol, drugs, sleep or humans and animals or God's Word.
We know the devil is a liar and he causes every evil by his temptations.
We know Jesus came to destroy the works of the Devil.
We know Jesus has accomplished our total work of salvation.
We know we are one by the blood of Jesus and love abides in us and removes hate, vulgarity and malice

TV/Movies / Re: Do You Still Watch Television? by IME1: 12:10pm On Jan 30, 2021
Sadly not really.

My TV only comes on for news in the evening for about 30 minutes which is not even every day.
Then I still manage to watch news line on some Sundays.

Sad, I don't even bother with subscription and getting movies in my flash drive.
I think this is the case of those around me even.

The children around me are encouraged not to spend too much time in front of the TV.
They now have bikes, swings, books, tabs and other things to engage them.

TV sha
I was a TV shild cool I grew up in front of TV from creche to SSS3 then I said goodbye.
From the time of waiting for 4pm to the time of watching cable and satellite.

Evolution lol

Ilorin sha undecided
What I like is the low level of crime
Reasonable cost of living and manageable roads
I usually walk home around 8pm without stress, though dark, no street lights.
I remember back in the days when I stayed around sanrab
It's always a nice time sitting in front of sanrab taking oranges or water melon or fried sweet potatoes and pepper stew...
Peaceful times
Going to shop rite is usually my highlight cause make we talk true, asides item 7 and other hanging out places, where person fit go relax or spend time undecided

Op you no mention pipeline, Gaa Akanbi, sawmill, our new flyover, and other places
Ilorin dey try
E dey im dey

I beg Lagos, Ibadan, Akure and other cities no come dey drag with Ilorin here oh,
This is not a comparison thread, op is just sharing his experience.

If you rep any other city in Nigeria avoid the temptation to shalaye

Sports / Re: Rehabilitation Works Begin At The National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos by IME1: 5:02am On Jan 18, 2021
angry why are we always made to believe that government can not run any successful enterprise or business?
Whether the national stadia all over the country oh or the national theatre oh, or a national air carrier oh, or even this train that is trying to be revamped?

These same government officials- politicians and civil servants,
Have thriving businesses they don't mess with or employ lackadaisical attitudes towards!

What is wrong with us Nigerians always with the mind that na government property?

See the Lagos stadium see the national stadium
See Ibom Air see Nigerian Air Ways
See National Arts Theatre see Deepend Cinema and other film houses
See national museum see Terra Kulture and Nike Art Gallery and others
See bar beach of yesteryear and see private owned beaches
See government schools, hospitals, housing estates and private ones
See government workers and see private ones
See Government owned business transport and see the private ones...

Poor maintenance culture, I don't care attitude, wickedness and lack of stewardship, loyalty and faithfulness is what will destroy any enterprise and sadly that is what most government establishments and enterprises are soaked in. cry

I believe government can run a successful enterprise yes with government workers and for government's profit.
Just right attitude, commitment, drive and dedication mixed with entrepreneurial and business mind...

Well shebi we are capitalist and not socialist na

HANDBOOK FOR 2021
Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you did in 2011 (10 years ago).
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10. Take a 10-30 minute walk daily. And while you walk, smile.
Personality:
11. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control... Instead invest your energy in
the positive present moment.
13. Don't overdo. Keep your limits.
14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does..
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake.
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
Society:
25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. Spend timewith people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
Life:
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come.
38. When you awake in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

Happy Sunday and new week.
Remember you are not yours
You have been bought with a price
The precious blood of Christ
Flee from sin in your life and body
Pray for grace against all sexua.l sins
Pray for each other as we pray for ourselves to overcome.

Celebrities / Re: Onyeka Onwenu: Why I Rejected Fela’s Marriage Proposal by IME1: 8:16pm On Jan 16, 2021
That 2 people sang a song together or the song was a love song doesn't mean they had a fling behind the scenes.
Same with acting.

It's a terrible culture to abuse the personalities of entertainers because the industry is partly corrupt and immoral.

It is a bad stereotype.

Just like bad stereotypes against doctors, market women, danfo drivers, northern traders, accountants or teachers.

The same stereotype against tribe and religion.

Please stop this.
Onyeka Onwenu is a human being, a mother and a Nigerian with her right to dignity and respect to person.

You, yes you,
You won't like if someone who saw you with your neighbour or friend's spouse and conclude something went down or is going to get down.

It's pitiable and immoral and a distorted thinking pattern

Guestlander:

Why are some of you so hateful? I sometimes don't understand where the hostility in many of you comes from. I am pretty sure you have some old people in your family.

I logged in just to like your post.
You spoke the mind of many sane people.
Some comments here on Nl reek of deep seated issues the commentators need to address about their lives, psychic, psychology and mental health.

Some are so bitter.
Extending their bitterness, poor social skills and upbringing (not necessarily home training cause some parents are really trying their best and making attempts to teach ethics, courtesy, sound mindedness and love) to people who don't know them, never will or care to.

Back to the thread-

Onyeka Onwenu made a good decision.
Those women who eyed her were also eyed when they too were entering the harem.
I guess this Fela's pant issue encouraged sagging (not necessarily the US prison uniform with no belt story)
Also his smoking pride instituted smoking and illicit drugs among entertainers and media people.
You see in the sports industry if not for testing, that part of the entertainment world would also have been wrecked by drugs, smoking and all.

Say no to nudity- male and female, Fela's lyrics might have spoken to power but his lifestyle, rebellion and family structure was appalling and should never be excused or put aside. You can't really separate a man from his lifestyle.
If Fela spoke against the institution of corruption in IBB's regime and evils of other governments he too had a case to answer in his own home, household abi harem.
He who goes to equity must go with clean hands.
Charity begins at home.
Remove the speck in your eyes before removing the log in ITT's eye.

Your house cannot be dirty and you complain of dirty gutters in Ketu.
You can't have small potholes in your own compound and complain of what the Federal government is doing.
You can't be sleeping with underage girls and spit against rape. That sleeping is statutory rape whether the 17 or 15 year old girl consented or took your money or even asked for it undecided

Too much stuff

cheesy
Lead them to Christ
By training them in the way they should go
So when they depart from his house
They will not depart from the way.

I know children who had sound education but went astray,
Couldn't hold down jobs, marriages, businesses or exhibit good social skills.

What happened to all their "good" education which usually translates to formal education?

What I've seen as the best gift is to know God.
When your earthly parents say goodbye you won't be left desolate or stranded wink
