The Bible says time and chance happens to us all. I guess this means that at some point in our lives we will all get an opportunity for a breakthrough. Now, imagine if you are to run 100m race with Usain Bolt and he is made to start half way ahead of you, even with a Ferrari would you call that fairness, equity and a good race? There is a potential dangote in every state. Hardworking, industrious, innovative and ambitious. But the fact is that only the one from Kano has been given the head start with a Ferrari, while thorns and lions have been put in the way of others. While a few others (whether we admit it or not there are several other billionaires in dollars in this country by loot or by crook or by business) are given scooter, and the vast majority are the ones faced with the thorns and lions. I'm open to fact finding and correction but over time since Obj's government this has been my view of Dangote- a privileged monopolist, playing politics of business and economics. Mind you a true business man focuses on business and a politician on good governance. In many countries these 2 people don't mix. In many more countries these 2 people are hands and gloves. The government provide policies and environment for the businessman to thrive, and the business man sponsors the politician's campaign and help stash his loot as his business front. What a life.............. ![]() And people want to be like Dangote? |

Parrot69:My dear brother, for almost 1 week now this is what has been keeping me awake at night oh... These High School Debates of 1955 to about 1957! They are mind boggling and very enlightening Internet dey try sha I won't have ever known these debates existed. I guess YouTube is trying to push good contents for the world to rather watch, than the junk most elders erroneously think Internet is all about. They show that many things did not start today oh, the prejudices, unity, exchange programmes, superiority, desire to learn, want for a better life, patriotism for a better country, English as a lingua franca, believing you are right whereas you are wrong, and so on... Meeen how I wish more people especially between the ages of 16 to 28 watch these clips. How I wish I could download from YouTube with the free YouTube data I'm getting, almost 9000mb! I'm trying as much as I can to compile all the salient points and write about them as a way of reflecting and comparing the position of things almost 70 years ago and the present state of the world. |
I may not know much about the politics of economics But can't this money be used completely to service Nigeria's foreign debt So we'll have a clean slate? We borrow too much and owe too much in the Nigerian government Whereas the government services and maintains the very expensive lifestyles of its officials, contracts and top public and civil servants Sad Just pathetic Also I want to wonder how long it took Ibori to loot this much? Think about it, as at 1999 - 2007 how much was the federal allocation, 13% derivation, IGR and royalties from oil companies that got into the coffers of the government that he was able to do some things in the state, pay salaries, build a university for himself and pay bursaries? Also sad is the fact that worse looters have arisen since Ibori left government till today |
Oh my Please mods know that just as junk, toxic, spoilt, expired and sensational foodstuffs are bad for our tummies and health so also some stories. Some stories are best left in their sections and not to be pushed to fp. Mods always ask yourselves- 1. Will people learn anything positive and good 2. Will people learn a new way to do a bad thing 3. Will it raise curiosity that would push some to do the same thing 4. Will it build or destroy the readers 5. Will it cast aspersions and rancour, division and promote hatred 6. Is it genuine, confirmed, verified or believable or what researching, confirming or finding out? This story though believable and having a good ending is all shades of wrong. Imagine someone leaving shadow and chasing shadow (nose ring). That girl probably has relatives that she has exposed to unnecessary publicity. In some countries she would have veiled or blurred her face. Now some people are doubting her story and accusing her of clout chasing. Nairaland is filled with great threads, but mods feel sensationalism draws crowds and multiplies pages on the thread! It's well. I don't read every story or visit every sectione, deliberately, to save my mind and imagination from unhealthy and evil communication that only end up upsetting me and changing my mood. I wish us well |

This your topic is real and needs addressing. I wanted to share my experiences - had and heard But I figured that the thread will become tribalistic, biased, volatile, heated and painful memories will once again arise, once people start sharing their experiences. Some did not lose the job but are being denied promotion, or being harmed in ways so they quit themselves, or being denied what others of that tribe are benefiting. The Bible said in Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: Proverbs 6:19 a false witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up discord among brothers. Stay well @ op your friend will get a better job this month in Jesus name, amen. But tell him I said that he should not repeat the evil he has received whenever he is such position to hire, but show to be a better person by never discriminating against any tribe, especially that tribe who rejected him. If not, he will become like they he condemns ![]() |
But on the flip side in Nigeria, I say ghen ghen ![]() @adajoe555 I've been saying it since covid19 started (the same year (2020) we were battling lassa fever, we just suddenly abandoned all other deadlier diseases and focused on it) that there are greater problems Nigeria has and needs tackling. - insecurity Imagine the pain of losing a very healthy and happy person to trigger happy drug infused men from the bush in the guise of bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists? - lassa fever, hepatitis, AIDS, diabetes and cancer Imagine people still having to go to India and elsewhere for kidney transplant and cancer treatment? Dr Ehanire said lassa fever is not a national issue so treatment, management and prevention cannot be made free? Those who are detected on time still pay for their treatment in Irrua and are poorly managed, no thanks to the government's neglect of the hospital - hunger Oh my Lord! I passed a street on Friday, mostly inhabited by students and I saw a woman eating bread from the refuse block. She didn't look mad, cloth still dey body and she was gathering remnant probably to take to her children. There is hunger in the land for basic things. Not cornbeef, lettuce, yoghurt or chicken oh, but basic food and pure water. The north where food is cheap, I still don't see them rolling in milk and honey. Many still look malnourished. Please don't mention me I've lived and stayed in core north I could go on @Rossunkin pele take water, don't cough again, somebody's darling daddy here has got you covered ![]() |
Please someone who has access to this rep should tell him to raise a motion for federal government to urgently fix the Odukpani road leading to Uyo. It is an eyesore. Legislators are said not to be voted in to do roads, but their job as representatives of their people is to draw the attention of the federal executive to their constituencies where their works are needed. How can you be driving on good road till you see goodbye from Akwa Ibom and welcome to Cross Rivers? It's the same way I always felt whenever I left Kwara to Ekiti, very bad roads till you get to Ekiti... Oloye tried doing it when he was senate president as his project abi as federal government project he attracted but the job was shoddy and long. I don't even know how far he went because I totally cut off that route and go through Ajase epo, no more Oro or Omu Aran. Nigeria needs help oh... don't let me get started lamenting on East West Road especially at Patani, or Benin Warri road by Ogheghe or Ososo-Okene route, nightmare, disaster... and the last time I was travelling through that route our business got bad and we had to take bike to where we could get another bus... Chai if you are a regular air traveller you will not know what majority of Nigerians are suffering. There is suffering on the road due to avoidable bad roads. When a hole surfaces instead of doing quick patch they wait for it to turn to ditch then award exorbitant contracts. Shame... Sometimes I feel sad for spouses, children, relations, friends, in laws and beneficiaries of our 'bad' Nigerian politicians, contractors and civil serpents servants and of course law enforcement, NEPA and political appointees. If not for God's mercies the curses and consequences of the actions of their 'bad' relations would have left them condemned. God have mercy on us and save your people in Odukpani and Calabar municipal |
May souls be saved Lives be spared Tragedies from Petrol tankers end In Jesus name, amen When you don't hear of petrol tankers having fatal accidents in other countries, especially oil producing ones, you wonder why Nigeria is suffering these preventable tragedies... |
Great man Rest in peace |
Two wrongs don't make it right |
Is it possible for a state to be better than the central, federal government Would a state one day borrow to a central, federal government Can a state be up to date with salaries, infrastructures, health benefits and co ahead of the central, federal |
Sad Police arrest based on written down offences you can cite Hisbah how do they operate? Are their arrests random or based on what really? What law? What hadith? Or is it at the whims of one man? |
nedekid:Hah!!! O ga oh |
Ahhh this will be the greatest scandal in Nigeria if it ever comes out right It would just be outrageous. It has happened in a few other places. A number of people have had body doubles, even among entertainers. People have ruled de facto Roosevelt hid his paralysis caused by polio and often leaned on his ADC. Many have ruled through their wives. Some in drunkenness have signed things away that have destroyed their country. Many scandals have taken place oh. But there have been great scandals in Nigeria sha Just too many, and they've been very avoidable and unnecessary. Lecturers teaching without any degree. Judges ruling with severe health issues. Doctors committing unethical operations blaring. Mechanics whose works have caused multiple accidents. Ogas whose inefficiencies have caused planes to crash and trains to derail and ships to sink! You name it... scandals everywhere... at home, in religious worship, in the oil sector, in the National assembly, in market, among BDC, in sports, among the armed forces... ahhhh police and celebrity own, special special. Please someone should tell manna that blind followership is not loyalty but delusion and self deceit and hatred to mankind and truth. It's very bad. If your father was Hitler or Idi Amin and you don't speak against his actions because he was your father, you do wrong 100%, there's no loyalty or respect there. tor |
It is well Many can and may never understand what you are feeling not to mention your brother. But Jesus Christ knows and will help him and you all. I'm praying with you. I lost my sister and 2 nieces, But God came through for my brother in law and us all as a family. It's not easy. I can't understand what you are going through oh. Please be strong. God is there and will always be there. It is very very sad. My sincere condolence to your family and in laws. It's terrible May God almighty comfort you all and grant your brother fortitude and strength to live and move on. Stay strong oh |
Is she to kill wall geckos? I've been wondering if it's right to kill those things, they are a menace. But I don't think they're the cause of these marks on her body. I think she's unconsciously scratching herself when she sleeps. Op please don't be worried, or start insinuating anything diabolic or attack. If you sleep in a place no one has access to and you're sure you are all alone then start by truly putting on gloves to sleep for just 2 nights. Be at peace |
naptu2:Thanks so much naptu2 Yes this was the second judge. I can still see the image and face of that first judge Especially the way he placed his glasses on his nose. ...good times, fun times. ![]() We've gone too far away in Nigeria, ![]() |
in my humble opinion it is not necessary Many things are borne out of traditions of men, our former customs and sadly spiritism which God does not like. 1 Corinthians 10:23 “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is edifying or expedient. If you find yourself in a place you can't access candles and the likes what would you do? You may become agitated, anxious and doubtful that your prayers will be answered. One thing lockdown taught the wold is that God is not in houses built by men, or in observations and journeys, mountains and memorabilia, bread, meetings, funds and all, but God is right there in our hearts, homes and lives. Stay well. May God in His mercy answer our prayers according to His holy will, amen. |
Terrorism is a hydra headed monster, it's head keeps growing out It's like cutting an earthworm, it doesn't die until you put salt No matter if any country succeeds in arresting or killing this man Sadly another one will arise and follow his steps. There's been speculations that Shekau had been killed, but ISWAP and Boko Haram persists. It's not about Shekau It's sad because it's a vicious cycle. It just keeps rolling. You need to see documentaries and leaked videos of how little children as young as 5 are already being trained, taught to hate and indoctrinated. Many of their children are pushed to the Western world to school, give birth, obtain citizenship, run for offices, change policies to their favour, destroy foundations and principles and that's the end of Solomon Grandi. Do you know who the mayor of London is abi was? It's not about his religion but his extremism. Its not about religion or tribe, but extremism and the devil. After all Rev King claims to be a 'Christian' and his followers are spending millions on birthday ads for him. Was he a Christian leader before incarceration? Could he have been regarded as a servant, follower or obedient child of God? Its not about religion or tribe. Many Christian missionaries who go to opposing regions are killed despite their good deeds for them. See China, see Somalia, see Congo and see Yemen. Some Imams and lay faithful of Islam have helped to shield and hide people of other faiths (Jews and Christians) during attack on the "infidels" What is it then? Extremism. The extreme CAC member who won't marry from Apostolic faith. The sunni girl who won't marry the shia man. The wawa father who won't give out his daughter to the osu man. The Ebira who won't vote for the Okun. The Catholic who would say other denominations are inferior and the Assemblies of God member who'd say all catholics don't know bible and worship Mary. Fallacies. Extremism. Hate. Vile. Herd-mentality. Bandwagon. ITKs Someone will come and say who am I to judge? Common sense and your conscience will judge you? Ordinary common sense will reveal many truths to us but because that truth sounds like what's from the Bible we quickly condemn it, reject and blaspheme it, just to prove to be neutral, secular, woke, atheist, anti Christian, logical or open minded. The fact is that there is the absolute truth. You can't be open minded with issues of corruption, oppression, rape, ritualists or scam. It's sealed! One way road... So how can you excuse a guy who scammed a random man using his ATM or BVN to pay his school fees and forget the victim who happens to be a pensioner who relied on that money for his daily upkeep and BP medications? You justify Osama bin laden, terrorism, kidnapping, forceful marriage, under aged marriage, destruction of other's livelihoods, imposition of their own in faith based schools, subtle jihad and conquest from a religion, just because you don't want to look bias and one sided! They are your neighbours, in laws, Co workers and helpers so you keep shut and wait for meat from the next Ileya. Are you kidding me? You better take sides, even if people tell you that you are not open minded, you are partial, a bigot, unaccommodating and all the false narratives they've used to quench the spirit of many gullible Christians. Christians who like the seeds who fell on the rocks and thorns have been drowned by the world. Stand for your faith and defend your Bible and it's teachings. God's word and be an ambassador for Jesus Christ, God's son, the light and only saviour. Are you ashamed of being a man (eg Bobrisky), or a woman (because Mosdi says the ones in Nigeria are all useless including the seamstresses, lawyers, teachers, nannies, bakers, engineers, doctors, nurses, all and all his female relatives, which you laugh off as nothing)? Then why should you be ashamed of living as a Christian? Why do you leave it in church like a garment and 'secularise' all through the rest of the week, online, at work, even at home and in your hood. Just so you won't be regarded as a bigot, simp, dull close minded illogical person, holier than thou or spirikoko? Are you a Christian and you see an unrepentant sinner blaspheme and ridicule your faith and you keep quiet, you don't correct the person in love and stand for the right position? You don't do well. Even if it's in jokes, comedy skits, false prophets on the altar or on the political terrain. Are you a Christian and a fellow Christian is being threatened to be killed by Boko Haram by live streaming and it doesn't touch you that this is a deliberate fight against the kingdom of God and you are not praying or speaking aganist it or condemning it or raising awareness about it at all? That's not right. Are you a Christian and you feel because Reno or any other person you don't like like FFK speaks up for Leah Sharibu you won't do anything about her case? A Muslim girl was 'falsely' accused of carrying drugs in Saudi and the FG and Abike swiftly acted and got her released. Do you know how many Christians have been coincidentally falsely accused and had drugs planted on them in Malaysia and co who have been 'successfully' killed without any intervention by FG? See the xenophobic attack in SA, Ghana and covid19 discrimination by China against Nigerians from a part of Nigeria which government never spoke up for. Who's speaking up for the Obigbo community? Which news outlet, political party, NGO, celebrity, blog, protest match, church, adviser or group? No Gumi from the SS SW SE or NC? If you think September 11 2001 didn't concern you as a Nigerian, think again. It was an attack on the world. An attack in a place they knew citizens from several nations will be in. It was an attack against a country that is carrying 'Christianity' on its head like a turban or tray of agbalumo, but is deep rooted in satanism, secularism and sin. Still they attack them in the guise of attacking the judo Christian God. Imagine if someone killed your brother or neighbour thinking it was you, who he actually intended to kill. Would you be happy? Would you heave a sigh of relief knowing that even if they missed you as their target, their intention has killed you already in their minds? No na Finally, if you are Anglican and they kill a Catholic seminarian in Zaria, they kill you. If you are in Christ embassy and they kill an RCCG member out on morning cry, they kill you. If you are in GOFAMIT and they abduct ECWA members from Chibok or Sabo Tasha, they did it to you. If you are in Deeper life and they ridicule Living Faith over what the Bible says, they ridicule you. My observation is this, When I type with my android and I type satan, they automatically change the s to uppercase. When I type Jesus, they auto-correct it as jess, or leave it as jesus without changing the j to J. They x the Christ in Christmas and Christianity. They pause God in Multichoice. They leave El Amin and attack schools for the low income earners in big Niger. They leave the Indimis and Buratais and conveniently take the Dapchis. They leave Akpos who had a 1st class and a PhD and appoint a Bawa. They kill a Terwase who surrendered and embraced peace and was going for reconciliation and they leave a man named Sokoto who admitted to bombing the UN building. They leave a Gumi who has robbed shoulders with the killer kidnappers and arrest an Obadiah the CBN man and summon him to Abj and Lag for questioning. They leave southern Kaduna and Ulemo road before Auchi and instead hover their helicopters over Orlu 'naff said |
Happy birthday to the celebrant It's good for mods to push lighter things to front page also (but not irrelevant things). The bad news we read everyday happening in different places in Nigeria is enough to make many people unbothered, unsympathetic, indifferent and hardened. Seun make we dey laugh too, no be only cry and shake head we go dey do Meanwhile why I came here is to ask how many of you remember that Pears baby advert where a toddler was a judge and a mother was on trial and the judge asked "now what say you?"naptu can you help with a link to that advert make I snap that toddler judge dey use for meme ![]() |
Granting killers and murderers amnesty is like asking a serial criminal for his allocutus! What difference should it make? Before you sentence someone you ask him what he has to say? Of course he will say every sweet lie for you to have mercy on him. But thereafter... The truth is that the Niger Delta militants didn't rape, kill or destroy outside of their lands. I can't recall hearing they raped kidnapped victims or went into other's lands and businesses looting. They were given amnesty cause they had lost their livelihoods to foreign oil companies who polluted their waters and pushed them off arable lands, contaminated their air and prevented farming even on land. They became jobless, hapless and conquered by foreigners with the full chest support from the Nigerian government. Now on the slip side, our Hausa Fulanis right from the get go and more outwardly in 2009 started Boko Haram which diversified to ISWAP, bandits, herdsmen, rustlers and what have you. Up till today we don't know their pain or agitation. But let's try- Boko Haram - western education is bad as it teaches underage marriage, free acquisition and use of guns, drug abuse and use of tramadol, beastiality and video tech to send messages and footages of abducted victims. In fact we should go back to stones and sticks. Seriously? Is western education that is our problem, and we are fighting to attend mission schools in religious regalia? To learn what? What do they teach in conventional schools? Definitely not catechism or islamia. So what the fuss? You don't want to learn physics, literature and maths? Did western education teach me terrorism ISWAP - they want a political region where Islam is the basis like the Arab world and circle with Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi, UAE, Qatar and the others Yemen and all. So they intend to displace Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon and CAR and others? Seriously? Isn't that modern day colonisation? Is conquest still allowed? Can a sovereign nation just override another nation without qualms? See how China is battling Taiwan and Hong Kong. Or Russia battling Ukraine. Or Spain battling Catalonia. Modern day occupation! And we should just siddon look? That na dog name na Bandits, Herdsmen, Rustlers - these ones justify their acts by quoting ancient degrees that Gowon and Co gave allowing them to graze from Futa jalon to the Atlantic undisturbed. Even if they have to pass the express roads and train tracks. They have right over anything their cows like to eat even if it's inside your pot on a stove in your interior village. If you stand against them, you dishonour the agreement they made with imposed leaders of old which you were not part of or privy to. They say they have a right to kill, rape and destroy because - their cows were stolen, military are killing and resisting them, indigenes are not letting them graze, governors are making laws against them and not fulfilling their monetary promises, Buhari and other northern governors are not living up to their pre-election promises to them. Seriously? Your cows are stolen by rustlers or military and you unleash your anger on all and sundry. You want to graze down south in harmattan and you destroy another's farm and livelihood? You mess up tarred streets with dung and say you are helping to fertilise the south? Our goats, poultry, manure, fertilisers are of no consequence then! They had a pre-election agreement to soak dogs and baboons in blood, and the promiser didnt pay them as promised with lots of money and cows but instead left them with the guns, transistors and drugs and focused on empowering his children, Aisha, northern elites and his native country with railway and refineries to supply refined fuel to his conquered territory for now N180 and electricity tariff at N2000 for 54 units and N400 per 1 kg of gas (which is flaring and wasting but polluting the atmosphere in Port Harcourt and Warri causing soot)! So is this how amnesty works? Will you grant amnesty to Internet fraudsters or rapists or convicted politicians or protesters or jail-breakers or ... If you were born at the time of Buhari's first time as head of state and you still used your full chest, intellectual cap and hand to cast vote to support him, data to campaign for him and online and offline platforms to malign others who didn't support him based purely on his past antecedents and bleak likelihood of future performance, you must humble yourself, admit your error and double your effort to stand against evil as Saul turned Paul went from undiluted evil fanatic to a pure zealous truthful missionary, Paul doubled his zeal for the right cause when he converted. If we supported an Umaru from Katsina a Fulani, and a Mooshud from Ogun a Muslim (with a fellow Muslim vice) Then don't zombie'arize by calling us bigots and tribalists when we stand 100% against a Muhammadu oko Aisha kevbe Nna Yusuf, if truly he's the one! It's nothing personal. We don't hate. We are not biased. We will stand against even blood relatives and tribesmen and fellow faith men who do the same thing, worse or less. Why can't we call a shovel a shovel? The government led by Buhari and his 36 governors and FCT Minister have failed totally in security matters and multiple other areas - jobs, health, integrity, federal character, openness, corruption fight and price regulations (of food, electricity, pure water, school fees, fuel, diesel, kerosene, rent, transport, flight fares, all, even to get transcript!) Please soro soke, me I have and I will |

They are indirectly suppressing their freedom of expression. This can cause many to become docile. That's what has crippled most parts of the Nigerian fabric - suppression |

ghen ghen

why I came here is to ask how many of you remember that Pears baby advert where a toddler was a judge and a mother was on trial and the judge asked "now what say you?"
