sad if only Nigerians can be this united to stand against fuel hike and electricity tariff hike.

Can't we speak with one voice and boot out corruption from our government, religious bodies, civil service, hospitals, bus parks, tertiary institutions, marketplaces and even families kpakpa? angry

Gone to visit friends with DSTV/GOTV with subscription
Rescheduled every other activity just to watch the grand finale
And yes,
Even Nl has graced it's fp with a thread which would run up to 10 pages I'm sure just for BBN.

My joy is that it ends today and will be gone for good.

But Lagos is not the enemy, neither is Bourdillon nor continuity/change
The problem is herds mentality and blind followership.

We should be objective, open minded, free to reason, liberty to choose and have a better lot in life and living

If a system is working let's go with it, if not jettison it!
They say the worst democracy is better than the best military.

But if since 1999 one man has held a state ransome and extended it around the west and beyond and there's no meaning progress, positivity and fairness to show for it,
But just propaganda, demi-godism, greed, murder, oppression, rise of the thugs, dictatorialism, expansion of territory, multiplication of wealth, placement of boys in strategic positions even to traditional rulers,
then we must all rise and stop it, stand against it and destroy it down to the root system!

Yes, such donation is welcome, not just at this crucial time in the politics of the state but always.

We invite others too individuals, corporate bodies and indigenes in diaspora (elsewhere in Nigeria and abroad) who have money like retired pilots, generals, bank managers, entrepreneurs, professors, oil workers, sports and entertainment people, and others to also make such donations, help tar roads, build school buildings in government schools, drill street boreholes, pay medical bills of the indigent, create employment opportunities, pay staff well so they can in turn participate in the economic growth of the state when they build or rent, go to market to buy, pay taxes and all.

I don't believe in human answers by themselves but I believe God uses Who He has willed. God has over time used various shades of people and we've seen the result.

Job asked that would we receive good and not bad?
Why should we receive bad at all? Are we gold that must go through fire? Can't we learn, get experience, be humble and wise without going through bad times, fire and unfortunate incidents?

Ecclesiastes 11:5 As you know not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so you know not the works of God who makes all. LET GOD BE GOD. HE HAS NO HUMAN ADVISER OR RUNNING MATE smiley

Accept what God ordain and let Him use you for His glory. Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. God is faithful.

...in Edo and Ondo let the man who God has ordained win and lead as governor for the next 4 years. The candidate you may be praying against might be the one whom God has ordained. Would you question or fight Him? angry

The same man who gave Obj tough time?
Reminds me of all those who were playing football on Lagos express road after Ubth all in the name of occupy Nigeria in January 2012. Some even put mattress on the highway in some states shocked

Where are all those occupy Nigeria people?

The whole Nigeria stood still for almost a week, if you don't know, can't remember or where unconcerned then in 2012.

The older generations have failed in more ways than one. Especially those who were mature right from the time of Obj's time as military president. Failed. They refused to relive, pass on, inform, remember history to tell generations after them. I remember telling some younger friends about GMB in 2015 when they were agitating for him like sliced bread and egg with butter. I told them we who experienced the man before will NEVER support his becoming RULER again, but they didn't listen. They said he is handsome! What a joke?! The greater joke is that they said he's of integrity! cry cry

It's not personal but issue based. The fact is that the number of Nigerians who can survive the increment in electricity tariff and new fuel price and of course increase in EVERYTHING are fewer than those who can't. cry cry

I've never worked for government so government ought to know that many who are self employed, especially those not offering essential services or commodities will suffer more. For instance, one Gifts Shop I used to know has converted to Electrical Materials Store, who buys gifts anymore undecided card, abi picture frame abi figurine?

Sad life, sad country, sad state of things.
The solution is not to complain or leave the country.
The solution is to stand up as one people and fight to take back our nation.
If you think Canada, UAE, US, France, Ghana, Germany or even China came down from the skies as the new Jerusalem will, YOU are strongly mistaken angry those people FOUGHT for their countries! Read about French revolution, China's breakaway from Japanese stronghold, America's war against British rulership, Ghana's bloody revolution and so on.

Inasmuch as I don't support bloodshed, abusing, insulting leaders, civil chaos and coup, I will never support tyranny or silence or latitude by the people. Nigeria's silence is sickening embarassed the youths priorities like BBN, Messi, iPhone or twitter wars are appalling angry the cowering of NASS, NLC, TUC, NANS, SUG, Arewa, Ndigbo, Afenifere and all the Niger Delta groups is highly embarrassing lipsrsealed the intimidation of the media, press, 4th estate, social media regulation and treat to freedom of speech by we Nigerians by the government and it's party is down right disheartening sad

I'm sorry to chip in this. The fanfare which brought in this government in 2015, the various pictures of GMB in different attires, him giving hi five to a child, billboards showing promises of 40 naira for fuel and posters defacing and discrediting GEJ and his party then reminds me of what's going on in Ondo and Edo preparing for governorship and Lagos, Bayelsa and other states preparing for filling of vacate Senate seats. If you are in any of these states, look at the fanfare of campaign and promises by those in the same party as the Federal government and see semblance of what people fell for in 2015- no difference. If a federal government has failed woefully is it at the state or senate levels that they'll perform? Are the Progressive governors talking to their altar ego and man at the top? So if you like what's going on at the federal level after the fancy posters, promises, jingles, banners, billboards and packaging they employed in selling this government to YOU who voted them in, please use your tongue to count your teeth and learn not to be deceived by packaging! Boli and roasted corn for roadside no get packaging, but customers dey come. See beyond the surface

An epistle is enough for the wise

He's got the promise of eternal life
And so do I and others who believe in the saving power of
Jesus Christ

There are those who spam threads with por.n
There are those who begin every post with profanity
There are those who must tie every thread with tribalism

But nay is the man who encourages people and tells them the good news he is convicted about in a very gentle and simple way in italics that gives a number of people heat and irritates their souls and makes them uneasy because there is an unsettling turmoil in them that needs peace.

Check it, if you find yourself being uneasy or your soul gets upsets at the mention of Jesus Christ, you should do a deep soul searching and ask God why peace eludes you at the power of that name. Then seek God's response and you will be set free.

Life is beautiful.

Pakistani court sparks outrage by ruling 14-year-old Christian girl must stay married to alleged abductor

Around 1,000 Christian and Hindu women are kidnapped each year and typically forced to convert to Islam - Mohsin Raza/Reuters

A Pakistani court has sparked outrage by ruling a 14-year-old Christian girl was legally married to a Muslim man who allegedly abducted her at gunpoint.

In a case that has renewed focus on the persecution of Pakistan's Christian minority, the Lahore High Court ruled on Tuesday that Maira Shahbaz had willingly converted to Islam and married Mohamad Nakash.

The girl and her family claim that she was kidnapped in April by Mr Nakash and two accomplices from near her home in the city of Faisalabad. If the ruling is not reversed, Ms Shahbaz will have to return to Mr Nakash's home from the shelter she was temporarily placed in.

Around 1,000 Christian and Hindu women are abducted each year in Pakistan and typically forced to convert to Islam, according to the Movement for Solidarity and Peace.

The victim's parents say they will take the case to Pakistan's Supreme Court, which infamously overturned the death penalty given to Asia Bibi for blasphemy - AFP

Mr Nakash, who is already married, tried to claim Ms Shahbaz was 19-years-old but this was discounted by the victim’s family who produced birth certificates and school records to show she was a minor.

After this evidence was provided last week, a local court ruled Ms Shahbaz should be removed from Mr Nakash’s house and placed in a girls’ shelter, pending further investigation.

However, that decision was reversed on Tuesday by a court with a greater jurisdiction in Pakistan. The victim's lawyer, Khalil Tahir Sandhu, claimed 150 of Mr Nakash’s associates arrived at the court.

“It is unbelievable. What we have seen today is an Islamic judgement. The arguments we put forwards were very strong and coherent,” Mr Sandhu told the Independent Catholic News (ICN).

“With this ruling, no Christian girl in Pakistan is safe,” echoed Pakistani Christian advocate, Lala Robin Daniel.

Ms Shahbaz was brought to tears by the ruling and her mother refused to speak to the media immediately afterwards, according to the ICN.

For the past two months a doctor in one of Pakistan’s busiest hospitals has kept a video diary for the BBC of the country’s struggle with coronavirus. Healthcare workers were overwhelmed when cases spiked after the Eid festival at the end of May. Since then, infections have fallen significantly but officials are warning of the possibility of a new rise following more Eid celebrations later this week. Dr Amara Khalid works at Mayo Hospital in Lahore.

Christians constitute approximately two percent of the Pakistani population but face increasing violence, discrimination and intolerance in the majority conservative Muslim nation.

Ms Shahbaz’s family has said they will appeal the decision and take it to the highest court in Pakistan to get their daughter back.

The Pakistani Supreme Court infamously overturned the death penalty sentence of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman charged with blasphemy.

In May, after the high-profile case, Ms Bibi was able to leave Pakistan to claim asylum in Canada after a prominent Islamic cleric led mass protests over the acquittal.
