I don't know if she has financial problem but I pray God protects her, provides for her and keeps her far from the evil whispering spirit of suicide. I love my father and mother, brothers and sisters, and so on, men and women so much that I don't like when people generalise! When you abuse men you forget your sons, uncles. When you disrespect women you forget your nieces, grandma. How can we come online and start spewing so much hate because you don't belong to the other gender? Can we become to the 2 at the same time? Don't we know that a number of people here use 'm' whereas they are females and vice versa? Sadly some males here who lash out at women were raised by their mothers - single, widow or divorced While some females here are still living in their dad's houses enjoying security, pecks and family time with siblings... So what's all these? 12 pages already? Hah Me that started work since yesterday... I thought by today many of us adults would have started getting busy in this beautiful prospective new year?! Let there be peace. I grew up in a time when our role models were physical or at least real. We didn't rely on online logic and diaspora views to know our selfworth and shortcomings. The op is wrong to push his prejudices and biases in public space, worse on a place like NL. Sadly a number of Nlanders don't know how to divest themselves from the write-up from the many faceless people here. While acknowledging that a few have shown their faces and others have contributed greatly to the lives of many, me inclusive, I still feel that NL pre 2023 had become toxic, illogical, abusive and a pathway to mental abuse and mental ill health. By faith I pray the owner Seun and his mods make the platform a veritable place for honesty, unity, sense, infact common sense and a pool of knowledge and undiluted fun. Sometimes when my younger cousins or younger people around me see me of NL they have this irritation and disappointment on their faces as though I ought not to waste my time here and rely on opinions and news from this platform. But alas! I've grown fond of NL. Been reading since 2006 when I got my first internet enabled phone and stumbled on it. But I thank God for giving me the ability not to be an addict of anything. So if people like the op and others who have stooped so low to his level to be cursing him and abusing both genders want to carry this negativity of NL this 2023, then I'll go back to just being a casual reader. Geez I can stay the entire 2023 like I've done in some years and months without logging in, commenting or even opening threads (just browsing the front page for relevant news and move on). They say Twitter is bad so NL is jealous? I beg make peace reign here make we rest. Meanwhile op na you start thread wey dey show us foods wey you don chop. But you no tell us wetin we suppose do? Romanoff:I praise you Romanoff for this kind question and observation! I've dedicated more than 7 years of my life in this research. No thanks to strike I should have defended and put out my work for affirmative action soon than later. But it will still come out once this face off is settled. Thank God I work, but I still need a huge amount of money for my final defence. I'd appreciate all the help and prayers I can get. I feel for under grads, those who've sat at home without schooling or working... Knowledge is to be for service not for bragging rights. It's painful when I see theses, projects and researches on library shelves wasting. Nigeria has so many problems and many people/students/lecturers have written and researched in different areas to address these problems, issues and challenges but these are never used or implemented. I'm happy Lagos state is active in many ways through agencies. All states should follow this step. Children are riches, this happens to be the meaning of my native names. But Nigeria is sadly breeding a generation of parents who don't have sense of responsibility, discipline, exemplary lifestyles or dedication. Still back to the bragging rights...Make we just born pikin, baby papa baby mama sofar say I get pikin.. but with zero love and responsibility or knowledge of parent/child relationship and duties... |

Write and stick it on your wall - "Do, think and say unto others just what you would want for yourself" I've a copy of the Quran in English but why will I be quoting it? I can only read it. I'm not trained in Islam to fully understand the verses. Even if you were once a Christian or you did CRK, don't misquote the Bible YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN! I can't even quote the Bible without the leading of the Holy Spirit. Do you know that you can only get understanding and true interpretation of the Bible by the Holy Spirit? If not you'd read it like fiction or motivational book. When we did Literature in secondary school, we were made to analyse poems and assume what the poet meant and what he meant to portray. But imagine if that poet where to come to our class back then himself and tell us? Would it be the same? Brother, do not misquote the Bible. Jesus died for you and I and all humanity even while we were in sin. His death and resurrection has brought salvation. Now you decide if you pick up this ticket to renewed relationship and reconciliation with God our Creator, which was lost in the garden of Eden, Or you decide not to pick the freeeeee ticket Jesus is given to eternal life and you choose the broad way that leads to eternal damnation. No one can come to the Father except through Me (Jesus Christ). For those of us who are witnessing Buhari for the second time as president, no manner of sedative, cajoling or packaging would have ever moved us to vote him in 2015 and 2019. I was truly ashamed, surprised, disappointed and sad (with all due respect) with those born 1980 upwards to 1939 who voted for them in 2015 and 2019. That said. Muslims are not to be appeased, they are humans like you and I, not enemies or evil spirit. Love is what Jesus told us is the new commandment. If an eye for an eye, the village would be a village of the blind. Two wrongs don't make it right. If those who refer to themselves as Muslims who perpetuate evil, which other Muslims reject as unIslamic who are you and I who are not Muslims to tag them enemies? Mind you these so called Muslims hate Muslims who extend love and care and protection to people of other faiths. They also kill Muslims who go about minding their businesses and don't join them in their evils. Many Muslims are victims, but who speaks for them when a lot of people tag them all together which is wrong. If you ever read about Paul/Saul you'd know never to judge or condemn anyone Jesus shed His blood for. God will and shall use anyone He wishes to. Inasmuch as I don't care if you're an elder or teenager kindly don't refer to me as naive,you've never walked in my shoes, you know nothing about me, unless what I write! Abi na? Your perception about me is just that human speculation. You're not omniscient. Sorry! We all must stand up against the death of Deborah No matter your religion, faith, tribe or location. Do unto others. How many of you Muslims reading this can say that you've never blasphemed either your faith or that of the Christian faith or that of traditionalists? And you never die! You're quick to call people kafri and infidels and pagans and use DEROGATORY remarks on Christ but you feel offended when the table is turned against you. I do not blaspheme Islam not because I fear fatua or Muslims but because it is not right to disagree disrespectfully. I won't enter a shrine and insult the deities, not out of fear but because I can disagree respectfully. We live by love that's the code, that's the new command. That person who's not my faith, I'd love him to live and see God's goodness. So why will I wish him death and miss out totally on any chance to come to belief in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ? My dear Muslims I'm sure you may say you don't mind, but that's not true cause I've lived in Sokoto, Ilorin, Oyo and other places where Muslims are. Visited Kaduna, Kano and Kebbi among others. Muslims you'd mind if in a class WhatsApp group Christians there post faith messages at the time of exam when past questions are required and academic information. Dear Muslims, if Deborah insulted your faith, I personally apologise, Jesus wants us to have our words seasoned with salt and not curse but bless. But she shouldn't have been killed. She IS NOT UNDER SHARIA LAW. Sharia law only binds Muslims. Just like Marshall law binds only force men. If I'm caught in a crime inside barracks as a civilian I won't be court marshalled! But if truly she didn't blaspheme and you all have come to find out days after (like they found out that it was indeed a bomb blast in Kano) please be humble and admit it. It can NEVER bring her back, even protests, BUT IT CAN ENSURE THAT SUCH THING NEVER OCCURS AGAIN. wouldn't we be happy if this senseless killing never happens again? Be it in Bauchi, Kebbi, Kaduna or Jigawa PS: for those saying why didn't condemn the beheading in the East, while I'm not from the East, there's no competition to show the vilest offender. The burning of Deborah and the beheading of people are all bad, no one is over the other, all must be condemned, one doesn't excuse, justify or water down the other. Those who are Igbos shouldn't keep shut about Deborah because she's from Niger state and their own region is on siege. She died because she said she's bored and the world is a cesspool Sadly there are people with this view. If you know anyone like this please tell them, Life is not boring. Just wait till you know your purpose then you'll wish you have more time on earth. The world is not a cesspool. The world also contains beautiful babies, loving grannies, handsome dudes and beautiful ladies. Or have you not seen the sun set and flowers, beaches and mountains? What about technology? Oh so you don't know that flying cars are being developed and a hotel was built below the earth inside water? When people choose to only look at the rapes, wars, tribalism, poverty, strikes, accidents, rituals and heartbreaker they lead themselves to the highway of depression, indifference, cynicism and eventual hate (which can make one a mass shooter or suicidal. Do you know some people kill others thinking they are saving them from a broken world!  and some commit suicide because they feel they are helping themselves numb pain or deal with a situation. Imagine if a pregnant woman decides to commit suicide because of labour pains? Wouldn't you say she's not wise or patient because such pains are temporary and when she behold her baby she will even forget the pain).I pray God grants fortitude to those e left to remeber this Kenyan woman.
