Front chair review and opinion -
This was at the late Emeritus Archbishop Patrick Ebosele Ekpu's funeral on the 22nd of August 2024 at Holy Cross Cathedral, Mission Road, Benin City, Edo State.
Those who sat on that pew where past governors and deputies.
There you'd see Oyegun, Obaseki, Odubu and Shaibu.
Of those mentioned, all are Catholics except Obaseki who is Anglican.
Among other past governors are Igbinedion who is Baptist and Oshiomhole who is Catholic, both of whom were absent.
During Mass, before Holy Communion, there is the exchange of handshakes or bows (popularised during Covid19) known as the sign of peace.
At that juncture Shaibu decided to see what Obaseki would do knowing he is in front of the altar.
Obaseki wasn't particularly interested in optics.
From my assessment, Oyegun who is above 80 having marked his birthday on the 12th of August, nudged Obaseki to shake Shaibu.
Obaseki being diplomatic or respectful to Oyegun agreed but did it with the barest minimal contact.
I may say there are several reasons.
But sadly, at this point I'm tired of typing and need to go back to work.

So walk into a real Roman Catholic church in Nigeria that I know of oh,
You see where "Holy" water is put for collection, free of charge.
So people, Catholics or non-Catholics go there to fetch even with jerricans.
It is water that salt has been added to with prayers.
Due to the salt input it is not to be drunk.
Many who believe and use "Holy" water from the Catholic church,
Use it to sprinkle on themselves, family, shops, car, businesses, house warming,
And to challenge foul spirits.
Over time people of faith have been urged to focus on the power of God
And not on these things God has permitted to be used to carry His blessings and powers,
Such as your mother, yes, I said it, your mother, the mother of Jesus, healing fountains like that of Siloam,
Where an angel of God stirred for first come first serve to receive healing, handkerchiefs, shadows, bones like
those of Elisha and others the Roman Catholic church has verified and beatified as saints, water, candles,
Scapulas, rosaries, pendants, and many others.
Dear, look at it, anything, I repeat, anything you use or place above God is your idol!
You can kill for your mother, for the mother of Jesus, for your water, for your pastor's reputation, image, name,
story, ministry, etc you are idolatrous. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity
and idolatry, because you have rejected the Word of the Lord God in His 1st to 3rd commandments.
These commandments having been summarised by Jesus as the 2 new commands, love the Lord God and
your neighbour as you love yourself. You love God and you turn images, water, pastor, mother, father, child
Into your idol and reliance and your tipping point? What is the difference between you and that fanatic of any
Religion?
I don't stand with VDM or Fufenyi

Phobia is fear of things like snakes, water and all that but not someone with such lifestyle. I don't agree that a man or woman should set out to be a single parent and spread hate against the other gender, does it mean I fear single parents? No! So would you say I'm single-parent-phobic? )

Nigeria is crumbling cause of poor leadership and all some Nigerians here and abroad can agitate for is gay rights and freedom of adults to be sexually perverts? Because it's in private and they are not hurting anyone? We should mind pur business? Na so Nigeria take spoil like this. See the lady on the other thread that said the coffee cup she left on her table when she was sick remained there till she returned! What a world! A child should be raised with both parents, a child should be raised knowing he/ she was wanted. A child and society should not be me made to pay the price of poor irresponsible choices and indiscipline of parents whether father or mother. Gay bisexuality, criminality, gangs etc are symptoms of this dysfunction it’s and it is prevalent amongst black Americans because the family unit is broken down. It The black American family is probably the most dysfunctional family unit in the world. It is very rare to find a black American family with father and mother intact, even rarer to find 2 or 3 generations that were raised in a 2 parent environment, no separation, no divorce. Most of them are products of single parenting, unknown fathers, adoption, separation, women with multiple baby daddy,s men with multiple baby mamas etc etc.
