I bought a piece of land in Umuahia with the intention to access the funds I have being paying into to build a house, I went to the Umuahia office of the agency in-charge after an unsuccessful attempt at a mortgage bank close to Government house Umuahia, what I saw and what they told me, convinced me that any sort of initiative like this from FG is a scam, a pipe dream.

Access to loan for ordinary Nigerians remains a nightmare.

I don’t need their so called N50m loan, what I want is a refund of my salary deductions into the old National Housing Fund.

I know Ebonyi people are very brilliant, I had lots of them as classmates and school-mates even as lecturers but this Governor is the worst performing Governor in South East Nigeria, nothing like the Governors of Abia and Anambra.

For the sake of food safety and public health, import foodstuffs the correct way. Food imported into this hazardous environment can become contaminated and poisonous.

There’s a valid reason to close loopholes in the entire country’s system to prevent things like things from happening but Nigeria won’t.

The system played them too…. All of those TET fund beneficiaries dont get their monies in full…..it’s one of the reasons some of them dont return to Nigeria.

TET fund beneficiaries have suggested that the full money be paid to the foreign University instead but the rot in the system is top to bottom

I knew someone who managed to secure a scholarship to study abroad from Abia State government then, he parted with at least 30% of the approved funds. He was told he will only get 70%, as others will take their cut.

When we were to leave Nigeria, my wife tried to secure a Nigerian government scholarship from either ABSU (Abia State Government in the darks day of Okezie) or via TEFUND but I vehemently refused.

Because I don’t want to have my family name listed like this in a newspaper. I didn’t want to be held to any contract or clause.

We simply self sponsored and are better off without any feelings of indebtedness or allegiance towards Nigeria, Abia state or ABSU.

Lots of Nigerian scholars here were sponsored but have no plans of returning to Nigeria or even repaying their debts. They’re simply happy to play the system.

Those police officers have a right to go home to their families alive and not in body bags!

They’re in no position to mount any sort resistance against those battalion of armed bandits.

It’s the failure of Nigerian government at all levels and the poor coordination of every branch of the State Security apparatus that should be blamed not so poorly equipped, poorly trained and grossly underpaid officers.

You mentioned ATMs and POS, do those machines accept cash in Nigeria? Even if they do, do they currently have the capacity to detect and refuse flagged banknotes?

There’s an established method of marking banknotes to render them useless that’s why monies conveyed by bullion vans can be spoilt if unauthorised access occurs and such monies looses their legal status.

While this your idea isn’t bad in itself, the practicality and deployment might make it difficult to be adapted.
