Lordtrillion:Same to your sir, are you in Rivers State? |
Well, it may not sound as much, but to me, it is awesome and a step in the right direction. What exactly am I talking about? If you observe closely, you'll notice that up till this point, I didn't attach any name to my business. Thinking about the future, it is expedient, I put some necessary things in place, such as: business name and a website. For me, business name is more important. I opted to register a business name last week and to my utmost surprise, the name I choose was disapproved. Thank God say I never buy domain name and hosting. Anyways, I selected another name yesterday and early this morning, I got a notification from CAC, it has been approved. (Less than 24 hours, CAC don upgrade o). Now I can proceed with other things such as brochures, business card, and my website. I believe this is a sign. cc: puskin, FOD, Dominique, naijacutee, seun Anyways, we are open for business. And ready to handle your deliveries. Call: 07035107792 |

Heromaniaa:Thanks chief, compliments of the season. |
For most of us, the year is ending and we will be basking in the joy of a well spent year - or at least the celebrations of Christmas, and a new shot at life as the new year approaches. For me, I have already started living in 2016. I have set goals for myself - learn swimming, master a musical instrument, get fatter, build my muscles, and so on. I have already started working on some of these things, but most of all, I want to fully launch my business in 2016. This thread will keep track of my pickup and delivery business. Before I start, I want to thank the CEO of GIDI WIDE delivery in Lagos. He was kind enough to let me in on tips about the business. So here we go - Business starts in earnest from tomorrow 1/01/2016. For Pickup and Delivery of the following items, kindly call: 07035107792 1. Parcels 2. Food Deliveries (we purchase and you pay on delivery) 3. Grocery (We handle shopping up to 20k for now. You also pay on delivery) 4. Laundry 5. Gifts - want to surprise someone? We'll purchase and delivery the needed item. 6. Pay on Delivery - Personally, I have been in the importation business and I know the trust issues involved. So if you are sending items to a customer in PH, we will pick up from the park and delivery to your client for cash. Your money will be deposited in your account on the same day. 7. Cake Delivery - Yes, we pickup and transport your cake to your client without denting it. 8. Bulk Delivery - This service involved picking up an item(s) from a point and delivering them to several locations. The best part? The price starts at #500. Call us today, or should I say, call me today: 07035107792. I am open to questions and suggestions, and yes to orders too. I will update the thread as we progress. Happy New Year in Advance. |

akashi01:I already have funds from working there. I use the available funds to pay for outsourced projects. |
DEGREE2466:In most freelance cases, you'd be given what to write about. In cases where you won't be given, the client will expressly state it. |
DEGREE2466:As the name implies, content writing involve writing content for à specific purpose. It could be for a website, a brochure, or magazine, etc. However, I prefer calling it copy writing, as this plays more. No, you don't need to send a sample copy here. There are several possibilities as to why a client don't call back. 1. The sample could be the main job and the client may have used it. 2. The client may not need your services again 3. The client may have gotten so busy and forget 4. He may have gotten a better offer 5. There may be some errors in your sample, causing him to lose confidence in your expertise. The list is endless. But here's what I always tell myself "I am good at what I do. I won't chase jobs, jobs will chase me". Dust yourself and bid for the next project. I'll be glad to help. Merry Christmas. |
One of the things that gives me confidence is the fact that I am still young. Although I am not where I want to be - my mates in the entertainment industry are flaunting their wealth. However, I believe I have enough time to make mistakes and learn from them as well. This has somewhat made me rash in taking business decisions. I am never scared of investing or letting go of substantial amount of money. I always believe I would get it back. And in some cases, I do. Of recent I fell in love or rather, it was laid in my heart to start a delivery company within my state. I quickly swing into action, searching a domain name and researching about the business. I also had the privilege of discussing with individuals who are already in the business. I had a business discussion with a professional web designer. This time I want pros to handle everything. I also got into talks with a lawyer on CAC incorporation as a limited liability. Yes, I am still serving but for some reason, I can't wait to break free. One part of me wants to kick off immediately since I am usually home during weekends. Another part of me wants to wait till April when I pass out. However, I want everything to be on ground before I pass out. How I see life? Life is beautiful and I thank God for the gift of choice, the ability to fail and try again. Meanwhile, I am taking an inbound marketing course with hub spot. Lol. Yea, I know, I seem confused. But knowledge is power after all. Merry Christmas. |
Hello nairalanders, I need help with a survey. Your opinion actually matters a lot. So I have this friend who wants to go into pick up and delivery services within his state (Rivers State). Although there are interstate services, we never really saw any specialized service for pickup and delivery in most states in the country. So here's the question. Would you use a pick up and delivery service? What price will you be willing to shell out? What items can you be able to trust someone enough to handle? Some options on his mind includes: files, credentials, parcels coming in from other states, laundry, pizzas, and virtually anything. For s start small items that can fit a scooter. Do you ever get so busy or tired, and feel someone should handle other things for you? Thanks a million, every answer will be very much appreciated. cc: puskin, naijacutee, FOD, dominique |
dearpreye:The big oga, there's something I wanted to talk to you about. Is your NL PM, active? |
So I talked about learning after effects. I had my first job published on YouTube today. I believe the only way to learn is by learning. More like getting your hands dirty. After about a week of YouTube tutorials, I was able to come up with this. I hope my client loves it. I just got to know they are a major brand in the US. Fingers crossed. Anyways, what do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJV2CJl9Oto |
Well, I am not dead yet and that is a good thing. It's been a while since I updated this thread and that's because my startup has been on hold. A lot has happened and I am grateful to God. I have been able to manage myself without touching my monthly allawee (he he). I still get a handful of jobs and God has been extremely faithful. So my last update said startup was going to halt. Well, it did. However, I decided to travel home every weekend to handle some freelance jobs. Monday to Thursday I am at my PPA, Friday to Sunday I stay at home (man must survive). I didn't learn about digital marketing anymore. I wanted something free but all the pro courses were paid. Instead, I worked on my animation skills. I have since gone on to learn two new softwares for whiteboard animations - VideoMaker FX and Adobe After Effects. I started learning AE 2 weeks ago and God has helped me close my first deal. Client was impressed with pre-mob samples. I have also gotten several partnership invitations - I declined all because of time. Some startup brands have contacted me to handle their contents. Hopefully it works out well. Generally, God has been good. And I've learned that I should never stop learning. In the meantime, make I go set my exam questions jare. Teacher no be for mouth. |
virud:First or 2nd coming from Garrison? |
ladokuntlad:Thanks for the links... I will attempt to download them. |
virud:Ph, u? |
webcraftz:You have done well. For some years now I have been trying to get after effect, what are your system specs. I have other adobe products working fine (Photoshop, Illustrator). I use a HP 225, AMD processor, 500HD, 6GB Ram, running on Windows 10. For animations, I had to make do with videoscribe and video maker fx. I still think AE is king if them all. Any suggestions? |
Interested. Kindly send me a pm. |
The chief is at it again. Baba carry your boy along. |
A typical Nigerian graduate is chicken hearted. Time and time again, I have seen job seekers and employees trampled upon all in the guise of searching for jobs, or if I leave my position, someone else will gladly fill it. As true as this may sound, it is not right. So why am I blaming our universities? 1. Lecturers are made to appear as gods - It is common to hear students say things like - "abeg, I no want that man trouble o", "shey you won get extra year, in?" and so on. Ideally, when a lecturer says something, a student has the right to refuse. But that's not the case in most universities. The after effect is a chickenhearted graduate. 2. Lecturers make teaching you appear as a favour - Yes, they may be doing you a favour but you are also doing them a favour. They will be no lecturers if there were no students, and vice versa. It is common to get threats like I will not come to your class or see a lecturer miss a period, doesn't apologize, and then fixes a makeup class at an inappropriate time. Of course some students will attend. Come to the workplace and employers make it appear as though they are doing an individual a favour by offering him a job. This is just ridiculous. A prospective employee should be able to state his demand without being ridiculed. 3. Students are to blame - Yes, you are to blame. On many occasions we agree on a thing and some moles will go behind us to betray us. Is this not happening in the workplace? People trying to buy cheap favours and attempting to outsmart others. Rubbish. Move down to NYSC and you'll see the same trend. At the long run, we have graduates who are under the impression that the employer is ultimate, their colleagues are the competition. And par adventure, they make it to the top, they continue the cycle. Disclaimer: This is absolutely my opinion and is subject to criticisms and modifications. Regards, X. |
j4sure:Baba you are an expert in many things oh. Twale for you. I went through your site it looks good. Actually I like it. When uploading images to WP, modify the title. Add alt text and give proper descriptions containing your niche keywords. This will help your SEO ranking. |
javijabor:And you want to tell me you are Nigerian and you know PayPal doesn't allow Nigerians receive payments, naturally, ba? Just a piece of advice. Business is a 2 way thing. In as much as you want the best content and individual for the post, you must also be willing to create a conducive work environment. What stops you from doing a Naira transfer to the individual's account after an agreed threshold? My 2 cents |
These few days have dampened my spirit and blurred my vision. Tomorrow will make it one week since I found myself in this place - Ngor Okpala to be precise. Power supply here is a luxury and my phone has been mostly switched off. I fetch water from a stream - dear Lord I make my own meals I sleep alone And yes, I am indoors for most part of the day. About my business. It's on hold. My fiverr ratings are dropping like bombshells. I never had the chance to pause my gigs before leaving home. My hosting is running without any progress. I went to school yesterday and there were no students. I decided to cool off till next week. I have also spoken the management about making Fridays a free day for me. This will enable me shuffle PH every weekend to work a bit. Only God knows how much I have lost in these few days. Well they agreed. I did a cost analysis on getting a house. Actually, I went to scout for some apartments on Saturday at Owerri. At the end of the day, I will be spending twice the amount getting an apartment and traveling to Owerri every Thursday/Friday, as opposed to travelling to PH. I settled for the latter. I have also been doing a bit of reading - resume writing and business plans/proposals. All in all, I bless God for life, for health, for sound mind, and for a will. |
stanley2:I won't do it and I won't advice you to do it. First, it is your only inheritance - honour it. Secondly, there's nothing like a lucrative business. Every business has an equal potential to yield profit. Unless you are skilled in the business, take out time to learn the ins and outs. Thirdly, source for funds from other sources. Nothing stops you from leasing the land, depending on it's location. My 2 cents. |
Strongbest:You've not answered the question. Are there different ingredients or is the technique you are teaching different? Besides, I am not a professional. In fact, I have never attempted to make ice cream. I only overhead someone talk about this. That's why I am asking. Biko, no vex. |
Remove the yoke from your egg. Beat the egg white until it becomes fluffy and foamy. Add icing sugar and refrigerate. I don't think there's a secret to this. Except your technique is entirely different. |
