For the newbies on freelancer, I am trying to spend the last £7 in my account. I have a summary job on a book, the giver by Lowry Lior. Read each chapter and do a bullet point summary.

I will split the project into two and provide 2 reviews. Anyone that is interested, kindly send me a pm.

Note: The book is 96 pages. I already summarized 50 pages there about.

FamilyRe: How Do I Go About Asking Him To Leave Without Sounding Bad? by INDESTRUCTABLEX(m): 6:10pm On Jul 15, 2015
Smh @op. How to get him out.
Day 1 - Fake a scream at night that will wake him from sleep. When he asks, tell him nothing.
Day 2 - Fake another scream. This time sleep talk and say "yes, we will bring him".
Day 3 - Allow him fall asleep before you. Sit like a mallam, talk gibberish, until he falls asleep.

Day 4 - Nobody go tell am to pack comot.

If him no agree.
Day 4 - Start running round the house at night.

Any time he asks, tell him you are cleansing the house. Lol

Factors that determines the amount to be spent are:
1. The size of the land.
2. The location of the land.

Provide the aforementioned information in order to get a detailed estimate.

Hello building gurus in the house.

There is this plot of land we have had for several years. The area is fast developing and other land owners have started encroaching.

I will like to find out how much will be needed to fence the land round to prevent encroachment.

The location is waterlogged and I have 300k at hand.

What extent can 300k take me?

Thanks is anticipation.

I've never even given it a thought. I don't have that luxury. Quick - money schemes are a very quick way to lose valuable amount of money.

I think sports betting is the in thing at the moment as I've seen teenagers strolling around betting houses.

I've never encouraged it. I suggest you should engage it(if you're doing so). Only wealth gotten by diligent and painstaking means will endure. Easy comes, easy goes.

A few people might be making it via sports betting. But I'm yet to see one of them close to me shaaa.

Whynotthetruth, ideykwum, INDESTRUCTABLEX, Truckpusher, barcanista, noblezone, sarahbabyxx and others, your words will be invaluable to this space.

Good morning to you all. And may this day and month be meaningful and prosperous for us all.
On sports betting I will paraphrase a quote from RMIB that has stuck with me. It says:

The goodness of good fortune cannot be found at the betting tables but at the most noblest of tasks.

What this means is that unless one is involved in something meaningful, forget about being rich. Nature is so designed to work with diligent individuals who seize the opportunity.
"Opportunity is a haughty goddess that has no time for the unprepared".

I am in no way discrediting betting but personally, I will never bet.

Very nice points.
Just to add to it, the above requires a lotta sacrifice which many may not have. Best ways to ensure u save, esp salary wise, may be to join a cooperative (which ensures a particular amount gets saved every month) or one of the numerous assurance houses around with their savings plans.
That way, once you've taken care of feeding, basic needs n miscellaneous allowances, the remainder gets saved.

Also, the money saved should be used to 'secure' the future.. Land, personal house and other long-term projects.
Getting an alternative source of revenue, no matter how small, it helps.

My N100..
Exactly, cooperatives are a great way to save. In some companies, it is integrated into the accounts dept. such that the money is deducted once salary is paid. This way, there is no temptation of spending.

Richest man in Babylon by George Clason (I am reading this for the forth time, it inspires me. Highly recommended).
I just started Business Stripped Bare by Richard Branson

I hope this helps.

WOW at poster Big thanks for sharing these you just saved a soul.

But I do have a question, What happens when the said young man is not married?? either is he in any serious relationship??

thanks once more.
Hello sir, the best time to save is when you are young and single. I am allowed to take reckless risks without thinking twice because I primarily have to worry about myself and no one else.

Just to motivate you. I have a friend who is serving. He made a deal not to touch his allowee. He does extra jobs to survive and he is well to do compared to those in his age group. Mind you, he is from a very very humble background.

Believe me brother the best time to start saving is as a student in school, next as a single man without a relationship.

Once you are saddled with a relationship or marriage plus children, my brother world done change o.

The reality of entrepreneurship is
Not all of us will make the big bucks,
Even though we are selling the same product,
The same business that makes you 10k a day,
Is making another man just 1k,
You are right when you say not everybody will make the big bucks. But as ben1975 rightly pointed, we need to change our mindsets.
If anybody is going to make that 10k a day, it has to be me. Next back up your decision with actions.
And finally, think of ways to make more bucks or maintain your 10k.

That's the reason we should take safety very seriously. I've lost a superintendent to a fatal accident. He fell from a height of about 25 feet and went down 6 feet finally.

Entrepreneurship is the way. I agree. That's why I'm beginning to be even more prudent with money.
Which industry are you looking to invest in?

Hahaha. Staying alive in the industry requires some sacrifices, and they come in the form of complying with established HSE management system.

I agree sometimes HSE procedures can be stressful, but that stress is the sacrifice we pay today to work again tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

In recent times, I've also started thinking outside the box. Just earning monthly salaries isn't enough. I've started paying serious attention to entrepreneurship.
You are entirely right. If there are no rules there will be chaos. I once saw someone had 4 of his fingers chopped off when he tried lifting a very heavy object without assistance or gloves.

My brother entrepreneurship is the way forward.

Nice points bro,
But truth is,
Many out there don't make enough from their jobs to even pay their bills, Not to talk of saving
,
That's not the absolute truth. I will explain.
Back then in school, at 100l, my allowance was 20k. I noticed that at the 3rd week I was always broke and would have to borrow from friends. What was the cause? I always had quarrels with my roommates and would leave in anger to spend the night in a lecture room. This went on for 3 months.

Second semester I changed my plans. No matter what happened I stayed in the room. That same person who couldn't save a dime survived and took a professional course on web design. I paid for it with 2 months allowance.

Human wants are insatiable. I can survive with 5k a week, 10k, 2k, and even 0k. I hardly keep or carry cash. As long as you have garri, yam, bread, beans, rice, you are good to go. Remember, there are people earning less than you do and they are surviving.

Survive today, make sacrifices, and live tomorrow.
My 2 cents.

Anyways, I am not in the industry. I don't have plans of entering sef. I had my fair share during SIWES.

We are the Dangotes of tomorrow.
Business5 Years From Now by INDESTRUCTABLEX(op): 4:36pm On Jul 01, 2015
At some point in time our fathers were boys, they had dreams, they had plans, big plans.
For some, plans became reality. For others it was a mere fantasy.

Time and time again, I have seen individuals live their lives like there is no tomorrow, but that isn't really my concern. This post is targeted at business people.

More than ever, everyone is preaching entrepreneurship as the only way to true riches. They may be right. However, we cannot deny the fact that a lot of us are struggling. Yes, we are struggling.

I wouldn't have a problem with this if 5 years from now things become better. But the truth is that 5 years from now, a lot of us may have quitted or may still be struggling. Why?

We fail to think ahead. Apple, Microsoft, Dangote - these guys have enough money to last several lifetimes. Yet, they don't stop at creating an amazing product. They are constantly pushing the frontiers of innovation and exploring other markets.

What does this teach us? Never get complacent. Think ahead.

Will your skill set be relevant 5 years from now?
Will you be happy if your business remains at the same spot 5 years from now?

Break away from living from paycheck to paycheck. The world belongs to those who anticipate tomorrow and act today.

Regards,
X.
