pinacole1: Oshio is smart, w alahi, he knew he will not survive it, the best thing to do was to screen out obaseki, just imagine obaseki was allowed to run, it would have be a different story now. Oshio nice 1, he has done the major work for apc already He did the job already using his office. Next is for the party to rally round the candidacy of POI for victory. |

kestor: That has never been an issue. We're waiting for him in the streets of Edo. We know him well (A - Z), he knows the only real chance he got died with Oshiomole's chairmanship. Oshiomhole chairmanship already did his job. That's the reason POI is Apc candidate today. |

fergie001: INEC doesnt have any say in the internal primaries of a political party.
Infact, their presence there is to monitor and technically, is for formality sake. They cannot bar anyone, they cannot disqualify anyone.
They will leave it for the Courts to decide. You missed it. They're obligated to obey court orders not necessarily interfering in party primaries. However, I also know that if INEC doesn't monitor your primaries and confirm it held you may not field candidates. Zamfara for instance. |

NICENEDU29: For your information, the Order of interim Injunction from Federal High Court, Port Harcourt and the one from Edo State High Court are conflicting Orders given by Courts of coordinate or equal jurisdiction and both are based on the same subject matter. So, the position of the law in that circumstance is that where there are two conflicting decisions, judgments or orders given by two different courts of coordinate or equal jurisdiction, the latter in time prevails over the former, because it is taken that the latter has overruled the former and the former becomes inoperative in the light of the latter. Therefore, the Order made by Edo State High Court on 23rd June, 2020 takes priority over the one made by the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt on 22nd June, 2020, since the Edo State High Court Order was made later and both are courts of equal jurisdiction. HahahahHa. .. why are you displaying this kind of unparalleled ignorance on the internet? |

saintokwuluora: The Fed High Court did not restrain Obaseki from contesting. Please read the order of that court and what it did was to order for substituted service on the parties through a national daily newspaper the matter was adjourned to Thursday for hearing. There are plethora of Supreme court precedent that protects Obaseki's participation in the PDP primaries and that is what the Edo State High Court Ekpoma Division relied on for the order it granted. Now based on that order which can only be challenged at the Appeal Court, whatever the Fed High Court will rule on Thursday, the day of PDP's primary, which definitely will not restrain Obaseki based on past Supreme court decisions, will have no consequence because a court of concurrent jurisdiction has already ruled, allowing him to participate. One step ahead. Go back to primary school. |

Accelerated hearing! The judge I see has already been procured to give a devastating verdict against Obaseki tomorrow. He'll hear both side's arguments tomorrow and adjourn for judgement. Then boom like a bomb he'll disqualify Obaseki from the race. There'll be no time to even appeal the judgement. |

Politics › Re: Federal High Court Restrains Obaseki From Participating In PDP Primary Election by Indispensable85(m): 8:46am On Jun 23, 2020 |
Xisnin: Because you are not paying attention. If Obaseki participates in PDP primary and wins, then they have no candidate based on this court order. Same way for APC if Giadom conducts his own primary. Ize Iyamu's membership is even in question.
The third-party with the highest vote may carry the day.
There other alternatives, that INEC extends the primary election dates so the issues can be sorted first. Or both APC and PDP decide to withdraw their mole's court cases. Who's giadom conducting primaries for? Where are the aspirants? he's just a clown. |
