Majority are okay with mediocrity. We, as a people, can cope with any situation, so we would rather manage (and say "e go better"wink than act right or demand excellence (in most cases).

What am I doing? I'm trying to amass enough wealth so that I can influence things, especially education and mass re-orientation (in a positive way though!). Yorubas will say "rich man no fit talk make poor man claim sey him get idea" grin

So far there is nil evidence of blind forces of physics making codes only conscious minds do.
Can you be kind enough to give examples of codes that you think the blind forces of physics can't 'create'?

"Singing hymns and waving palm branches through all eternity is pretty when you hear about it in the pulpit, but it's as poor a way to put in valuable time as a body could contrive."
- Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven

"People think after they die they're going to lie on green fields and listen to harp music. He says they wouldn't want to do that for five minutes while they're alive but they think that we have to for the rest of eternity doing that after we die."
- Rabbi David Wolpe quoting Mark Twain while debating Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, and Rabbi Bradley Artson on "Is There An Afterlife?"

Oh no, I don't do e-books. Perhaps I'm just a conventional reader. I like holding the paper book to my face but reading books from an ipad doesn't do it for me.
I prefer ebooks as they're convenient for me. And are free! wink

Nice post. I'll also recommend Dan and Chip Heath's " Switch: How to Change Things When Change Is
Hard" and "Warriors on the High Wire: The Balancing Act of Brand Leadership in the 21st Century" by Fiona Gilmore. They may not be in the startup genre but it is important for an entrepreneur to journey through the pages especially for big dreamers. Imma look out for the books you listed especially Rework. I have a feeling the author is my kinda guy..Thanks op.

UyiIredia:
You are mistaking complex patterns for codes. Not all patterns are codes. In your example the zinc blend hexagonal lattices represent nothing else so they aren't codes. DNA OTOH codes for a the chemicals guanine, thymine, cytosine or adenine depending on the pattern.
I get your point. The complexities surrounding the natural world can make one sentimental. I think it was one of the things Dawkins addressed at length in "The Blind Watchmaker". I think the culprit coder here is the blind forces of physics if I'm to go by Dawkins (he made sense but I'm not satisfied)..I'm not sure though.

I have already told you that asking where God came from is Like my pet dog asking how I came to be. No matter how the dog tries he will never fathom that out.
God and human don't relate at the same level same way humans and dogs.
As an agnostic, I can completely relate to your analogy in that man does not yet know enough to come to a certain conclusion about god's existence. However, in trying to use it to prove god's existence, I find some things wrong with it:

1. Your pet dog can see you, you feed it, sometimes find a mate for it when it's on heat, build a kernel for it. and even bury it when it dies. It doesn't have to argue about your existence.

2. You didn't create your pet dog (you don't know if it knows this though)

3. Your pet dog doesn't build spacecrafts (it's not smart enough, why should it even try?)

Like I said earlier, I completely understand the analogy! But it doesn't confirm the existence of a creator.

Christianity EtcRe: What Does Atheism Have To Offer? - A Discourse by Infomizer(m): 6:44pm On Nov 03, 2014
plaetton:
For one, atheism is an antidote against the devil, witches, demons and evil spirits.
So an atheist is by default, innocculated against these ailments of psyche. grin

With clarity in their minds, atheists are fair minded, usually taking the most rational approach to see and addressing issues.

Atheists are more charitable, more compassionate, take responsibility for their actions without looking for a devil or demon to blame.

As an atheist, I see all the christians around me struggling with the internal and embarrassing contradictions of their faith.
The devil is always haunting them everywhere.

I have come to realize that this devil that they so much lament about are actually the internal contradictions of their beliefs.
So the devil serves as a useful buffer against cognitive dissonace.

This is why the devil and demons do not bother atheists. grin
That antidote part sha...so fücking true!

FamilyRe: Must Husbands Always Be The First To Initiate Love Making With Wives? by Infomizer(m): 6:27pm On Nov 03, 2014
Why should a wife wait in the first place? If you wanna get laid then tell your hubby. It's your marital right (if there's anything like that). He may have other things in mind nao. I'll always love a woman who knows what she wants and goes for it. 11 out of 10 times!

Christianity EtcRe: To All Atheist, Agnostic, Skeptics E.t.c Do People Know You As An Atheist? by Infomizer(m): 6:13pm On Nov 03, 2014
Many of the guys from my former church don't know. I don't see them much anyway, and whenever I come across anyone of them, we have too much to catch up on than religion (they know I travel a lot so that excuses the "we no dey see you for church" mantra).

My mum knows I'm no longer religious. My extended family members don't know as we barely even communicate sef (besides, I'm not supposed to broadcast it abi?). The ones I'm close to (younger cousins) are aware though.

Friends. Everyone I've met since I became an apostate knows. Everyone of my long-time friends that I'm presently close to is also aware.

As a business man, I always state it from the very first.meeting (for anybody that mentions religion) that I'd rather we not talk about religion as I don't mix both. If they insist, I simply say I'm not a religious fella and you can decide there and then whether you want to do business with me or not (they stay). I cannot afford to pretend.

Agnostic BTW.

Christianity EtcRe: In What Way Has This Religious Section Benefited You? by Infomizer(m):

Again I agree with you that atheists tend to attack and mock posts centered on religious befiefs.
The reason is simple. You cannot advertise what you agree are irrational points of view on public forum without expecting a strong push back from your rational counterparts.

Our nation has already endured so much of that, much to the detriments of the entire black race.

You and your ilk are very free to exercise your irrationality and imbecility in private, but when Imbecility ventures out of it's delusional cocoon, then it becomes a public health hazard.

I need not remind you of the many horrors that people of irrational faith inflicted , and continue to inflict upon humankind.

Therefore, I am sure you have no problems agreeing with me that continual vigilance is imperative for the rational people to ensure.
