Yea, people fail to pay attention to the non-Igbo elements among the plotters (Adegboyega) and the non-Hausa casualties (Okotie-Eboh), and while it is quite a prejudiced view, it does little to negate the obvious conclusion of a lay observer (i.e. Let's mix it up a little so we don't seem to be tribalists). And if you looked at the case of the other putschists apart from the counter-coup, you would see that it was majorly from one northerner to another (MM-Gowon, Dimka-MM, Buhari-Shagari, IBB-Buhari). My point is, even if the intents of the first putschists were far from being tribalistic, it is really hard to shake off tribalism.

IMHO, I think the white man should be absolved of any blame here. We were all given brains. A comical aphorism goes thus: "to whom brain is given, sense is expected". I believe that if our ancestors were the more technologically advanced ones when the white colonialists came-a-calling, the story woulda been different. If only we had had our own "Renaissance era" or "age of enlightenment", then no form of oyibo prestidigitation woulda bamboozled and flabber-whelmed our ancestors. Who knows? I believe this story. Prostitutes now have plans with policemen to find ways to extort boiz. Something like this happened in 2012 to me and my guys. We were at shrine, chilling and all, when a babe walked to one of my guys and started accusing him of not paying, assault and all, we were shocked. It was not up to a second the police showed up from no where, grab my guy, gave him sliding kick.. I swear, I can't forget that we were still trying to get what was happening, when one of the people around who knew it was another play, just told me and my other guys to run. Run ke? Leave our guy? A TGIF night just turned soured.

Their boss came down from the their patrol van and apologized. One other of my friends started mentioning names of some head of cultist him knows in oshodi, said he would call them.
