i never knew perx. never knew what she looked like, never saw any of her post but i found my self crying so hard that people had to converge around me inside BRT. you were a victim of our national negligence in the health sector, a victim of our healthcare workers. the world needed you to advance. we were watching, waiting for you to rise and rule the world in the nearest future. you were the catalyst nigeria needed but maybe it wasn't destiny. maybe God needed you more than hell, maybe it was already written. can i say it was the will of God 'cause to me, it was sheer carelessness. If only . . . i am totally lost of words. We have lost another youth, a creative and intelligent one for that matter. a brave girl who, despite her travails, was determined to live. we have lost another heroine, another future leader. i can't say more 'cause tears are escaping from my eyes. RIP. if only the tears could bring people back to life, it would have done it since but since it can't, we all have top live with the sad reality. RIP Perx. forever will i remember you
Chei, now this just broke my heart cry

I'm surprised it didn't happen much sooner. The jackass finally got a some pocket money and all of a sudden he thinks he's the greatest thing in the world. Anyway, never liked Dbanj to begin with. The dude is just full of himself for no reason.

Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: How Did Your Day Go? by InkedNerd(f): 5:41am On Mar 05, 2012
@OP: My day was ok. I barely slept the night before. I wasted about two hours of my life doing frivolous things. After the the nonsense two hours, I went to buy some film and camera supplies and accessories for my photography class. When I got to the damn store the  store owners were giving me a hard time about purchasing their bullshit products. Smh, that's one store I won't be going back to. After spending about 30 minutes in the friggin' store, I was so annoyed that I decided to treat myself to a burrito at Chipotle Mexican Grill. I decided to make my order to go so I had some time left over so I decided to go grab some donuts a Dunkin' Donuts. After paying for my donuts, I was walking towards the subway station blasting my music, and as I walked down the street. While walking, I noticed two oyibo guys walking in my direction and one of them was really cute. The one who was really cute was walking in a swaying manner. I started to laugh a little then I noticed he was walking closer to me, then he opened his arms as though he wanted to hug me lol. At this point, I know my story may sound strange but I actually jumped into his arms and hugged him and the two of us looked at each other and started laughing about the whole thing, then he whispered something to me as he walked away in the opposite direction and I laughed and made my way to the train station. When I got off the train, I called my sister and told her about what happened prior to me getting on the train and she said "What the fück?!?! Yo you need to stop huggin' and kissin' these random white dudes. First it was that guido guy on the bus, now it's some random guy on 33rd Street!!" I laughed and told her it wasn't a big deal to me but her face looked like this anyway →  tongue. So overall, my day/evening was good. I got a free hug and a burrito to munch on.

Flashaldrin:

Madam - I am not your dear. I understand what you wrote perfectly, dont try to play on words that dont say much. I made a quick reference to other countries and I concluded those are jungles as well, based on your assumptions or statements about happenings in Nigeria. Where I come go wrong?

Madam. Haba. Paragraphing is a virtue. Let us be able to read your words. Introduce paragraphs. I stopped reading midway because you have failed to introduce paragraphs - you score zero, nada, nuffin, so, we need more English Language lessons.

Mu hehehehee.
No one is playing on words of any sort. You wanna know where you were wrong? I'll tell you, where you were wrong. You were wrong in assumption, [not reference] that because I specifically targeted Nigeria in my initial response, you acted as though I what I was saying didn't apply to other nations as well. Your response specifically stated "Even all the above things you mentioned happen in your so called developed countries - Police victimisation is common in America, Britain etc - so, you can as well call those countries jungles, no matter what you or anyone else says. Are you saying politicians in America dont eat public funds and go scot free? Go to Britain and ask what the lawmakers did during the expenses scandal - I guess Britain is a a jungle then no matter what you or anyone else says?" as though I hadn't acknowledged those issues in other countries outside of Nigeria. I then replied by saying "I will admit, no government is perfect and not every law is ideal or functional to the situation or overall environment of its people, but that's not to say that you should just keep mum about the faultiness of the governmental structure. Even here in the US, there are various laws that are in place both on a national and local level that are just downright stüpid!", which was clearly worded in a manner that indicated that you obviously disregarded the fact that I did indeed mention that there are other non-Nigeria nations which posses the jungle mentality that seems to be griping governments of other the global community. I made full acknowledgement of it yet, you went out of you way to word your response as though I didn't and coming up with some weak response about me not introducing paragraphs. If you have no actual response to anything or you're just too lazy to give a response, then please say that. This is not a college English writing course, so please get off of your grammatical high horse. I have no problem with you being a lazy reader. If that is how you choose to refute someone's reply to you, then just come right out and say that. How I choose to structure my sentences is irreverent to the overall productivity of the conversation and thread and has no bearing on the the true nature of this thread.

Pukkah:
^^^There's really no point wasting precious time on those who throw insults at others without batting an eyelid. I'm ready to engage well-bred and intelligent people and not irredeemably pessimistic souls who perpetually see nothing GOOD in Nigeria.

They claim that Nigeria is a jungle yet they are the ones employing foul and uncouth jungle language just because another person's opinion is different from theirs. Of course, it's those who have come to the end of their intellect that resort to abuse.

@werepeleri, spare no further breath on them for they shall not waiver in their utter pessimism and jaundiced views.

I have a number of issues against Nigeria and those who follow my posts know that I'm not pro-establishment by default. But in bringing out the problems with Nigeria, people should be balanced, reasonable and realistic.

Like I said earlier, the issue with Nigeria's is really not the absence of laws but their implementation.

@OP, hope you've taken note of this. Again, I wish you well.
Please do get over yourself. Because I gave you the response that I did, doesn't mean that I'm a "pessimistic". My response was in regards to other nations as well. This whole "stop picking on Nigeria" mentality is the reason why there are still problems. If you like, continue to make indirect comments about me. Either way, I will still acknowledge your comment and reply to it. I am in no way a pessimist. I am just someone who believes that both the government and it's people [especially those who choose to sweep issues under the rug] need to be held accountable for their actions. What I say about Nigeria is no different from the critiques I make on other nations, both western and non-Western.
RomanceRe: Stella Damasus: Domestic Violence, When Is It Enough? by InkedNerd(f): 11:27am On Mar 04, 2012
1000samu:
I was discussing with someone today and he said and I quote,

"beating is the only language some women understands, they can bring out the beast out of the most gentle and most cool-headed men. Sometimes even as much as possible, some men try to avoid confronting their wives to avoid conflicts, they tend to take them for granted and they constantly destroy their ego, disrespect them in from of third parties and make the home a no go area for them. He said he has seen cases where a wife who is beaten once by his husband after taking all the insults and is at the break point tend to start recognising and respecting the authority of the man in the house".

So, what do you people say to this, I know it is not right for a man to beat his wife but what if that is the only language the wife understands to restore peace in the home. The floor is open for discussion,
I'd say that that someone needs to go get their brain checked because no amount of insult should EVER result in a spouse or partner putting their hands on or harming their significant other in any way, shape, or form. Yes, people do reach their breaking point but that is no reason to cause harm to someone. I have had my fair share of quarrels with people but that doesn't mean that I should kill them or cause harm to them. Abuse sympathizers such as that someone you mentioned are one of the reasons why people don't always take abuse seriously. Regardless of the sex who is causing the harm, wrong is wrong!!! Us women are not cattle. To say that beating is the only language some women understand only goes to show the mentality that some people posses and further entrenches our society in a perpetuating cycle of domestic violence. Speaking of women in such a manner also shows the nature in which women are regarded. Respecting the authority of the man in the house my foot!!! Marriage/relationships are a partnership not a dictatorship--no one sex should be ordering, controlling, or dictating the environment which both individuals inhabit!!

Even all the above things you mentioned happen in your so called developed countries - Police victimisation is common in America, Britain etc - so, you can as well call those countries jungles, no matter what you or anyone else says. Are you saying politicians in America dont eat public funds and go scot free? Go to Britain and ask what the lawmakers did during the expenses scandal - I guess Britain is a a jungle then no matter what you or anyone else says?

There is no country where laws are not circumvented - show me that country- off course you will say, some countries punish those who circumvent the law while others like Nigeria dont, so whats the difference?

Thus, your assertion that Nigeria is a jungle is meaningless, irrational and outright nonsense.

And the bolded statement makes me laugh. So the person who sits down and talk crap against his or her country without offering any meaningful solution is what, a blessing to humanity? LOL. This is classic Saturday Night Joke on TV.
First of all my dear, you really need to get over yourself. Second, since you seem to have a severe problem reading and interpreting information, please tell me where in my response to Pukkah did I mention that such problems do not occur in the "developed" nations? I CLEARLY stated "I will admit, no government is perfect and not every law is ideal or functional to the situation or overall environment of its people, but that's not to say that you should just keep mum about the faultiness of the governmental structure. Even here in the US, there are various laws that are in place both on a national and local level that are just downright stüpid!", which is an acknowledgement of judicial flaws in other nations as well. Yes, such problems occur in these nations that you refer to as "developed", I have never denied it, nor will I ever deny it. They do indeed fall in line with the jungle environment and hostility which is that of an unjust system. So before you start running your mouth left and right and responding as though I am speaking as though I am writing, living, and responding from some long awaited promise land, I suggest you read properly. And like I said before, it is a jungle whether you, Pukkah, bakila, or anyone else wants to admit it. Do not sit here and act as though just because I am writing from another land that it means I am sitting on some kind of judicial high horse and can pass judgement on others! I detest police brutality of all forms, I detest corruption of all forms, and most importantly, I detest those who try to silence those who speak out against the atrocities and shortcomings of what a nation is supposed to provide for its citizens. Political foolishness is political foolishness no matter what nation its coming from. What a nation of people decide to do about it and how they go about it is what determines whether or not that foolishness will persist. As for your idiotic assumption about me "sitting down and talking crap" about my beloved motherland without offering any meaningful solution, I must ask, did you at any point in time in your response ask if I was even involved in creating solutions? Do you know whether or not I am actually involved in anything that pertains to bettering Nigeria as a nation? No! Instead, you quickly jumped to foolish assumption as though you know me or what I involve myself in. Do yourself a favor and ask questions next time you want to reply.

bakila:
You are angry or suffer diasporan mentality of thinking that all the bad news feed to him makes no iota of good available to him. The fruitseller has better access to the Appeal courts than in US. IFwhat you wrote is true the case is one that will make an average lawyer shine. If he is guilty he will not enjoy symphaty cos of his trade.
Check also news of damages awarded in nigerian Courts you will find many. One thing why polithifcians get away with a lot of corruption is out tribalism of your brother stole dont talk of that of mine eventhough non of the so called brothers enjoy the loot. What happened to Joystick Cheny?
Stop NEOCOLOMENTALITY.
Cheney? Smh, like I told your fellow Nairalander, werepeLeri, and I will repeat this question to you as well since apparently you seem to be suffering from the same condition that he/she is suffering from--where in my response to Pukkah did I mention that such problems do not occur in the the "developed" nations? Reading is fundamental my dear. It is one of the basics of all things when it comes to learning and interpreting information so it would do you and others some good if you paid attention to things instead of assuming that because I'm not in Nigeria that I am suffering from "diasporan mentality". The only thing I have to be "angry" about on this thread is people who willing allow injustices to continue and governmental negligence [regardless of the nation].

there is these babe I just got connected to.We've been getting along so well that I wouldn't have thought she's is in a relationship until I decided to ask her.She is in one but then I really like her personality and I think she likes me too.We are always in touch by phone, fb msgs etc.She is just what I have been looking for in a woman, I can talk and chat with her for so long which I find hard with other ladies.By all standard she is a good girl just that this guy met her before me.I want to forget about her but what if her present guy is not the right guy for her and shes just tied down by the relationship?I want to do the right thing but in this case I really don't know what is right.Should I forget about her? If I do am I going to be a looser because she just happen to be my type? she not engage to the guy yet and the relationship has been on for about 1.8 yrs. Please advice is needed.

Thanks NL
Leave her alone and move on. Just because the two of you talk casually doesn't mean she wants to date you. Lemme ask you something, while you were busy getting bitten by the love bug, did you ever stop to think that if she left her boyfriend for you, she could possibly do the same thing to you if another guy came along? I'm not sayin' she's a sheisty girl but there really is nothing stopping her is she feels that she has found someone better than you. Ignore all those nonsense replies about her spending time with you and talking to you. Anyone can spend countless amounts of time with someone but that doesn't necessarily mean that the person has feelings for you in that manner. For example, I have spent long periods of time talking to my male friends on the phone, online, on Skype, and in person but that doesn't mean that I have an desire to pursue a relationship with them. If you know what's good for you, you'll stay out of her and her relationship otherwise you can expect the same thing to happen to you someday. For all you know, she may end up being the girl that some other guy is trying to take away from you.

Ijogz K:
She's just been a typical Naija babe,  So am not surprised.
They all wanna east deir cake and have it.

But 1 thing you need to understand about Naija gurls: Whatever they do to get you into a relationship with them, is the same they would do to get you out of their life.

The guy probably might be busy trying to make money or may not be financially capable of handling his responsibilities, without the babe thinking about d past good old times, she might start picking unneccesary fights with d BF, just to get on with d OP,

But good news, a time would come that d OP wuld also be on d receiving end.  grin
So all of a sudden, a woman can't have male friends without wanting to use him? Seriously, some of you guys sound like a broken record at times.
