RomanceRe: How Do U See Poeple With Tatoos On Their Skin by InkedNerd(f): 10:24am On Mar 17, 2012
@OP: Anyone who says its not of our culture is either stüpid or lying to themselves. It is very much a part of African culture, especially Nigeria. Just because a bunch of colonial 419ers came to our land and told us that everything that makes us innately Nigerian is wrong doesn't mean it never existed in Nigerian culture. I personally am a lover of body art, so I have no problem when it comes to someone else having a tattoo, no matter where it is on their body or how big it is. It's not my life, nor is it my body.
RomanceRe: Come One, Come All! Nairaland's Broken Hearts by InkedNerd(f): 10:15am On Mar 17, 2012
Have any of you been in love?
Yes, I have been in love. It's one of the most thought provoking feelings I have ever encountered.

Have you been heart broken?
Just as I have mentioned with love, I have been heartbroken as well. Looking back at it, I guess in some ways I'm still reeling from it. I can't help but feel a bit silly for still feeling as I do, even up till now. I suppose its just one of those things that you go through when you're young. It was an eyeopener for me. When I think about it, my mind goes back to a quote from Margaret Mitchell. The quote goes "I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken -- and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived". That pretty much sums up how I felt. When I first heard that quote, I got chills because those words were what I had felt and wanted to say but wasn't quite able to at the moment. Even as I write this, I can't help but tear up a bit.

If so, what did you do about being heart broken?

Hmmm. . . Well, I wasn't quite sure what to do. Feeling brokenhearted was totally foreign to me. Initially it hurt but after a while it faded, then resurfaced recently. The feelings are still there, they're just not as painful as they were in the beginning. There's still a little tingle in my heart whenever I think about the whole thing.

Do you still talk to the person that broke your heart?
Well, I guess I'd say yes and no. I'm not entirely sure how to give a direct answer on this question.

Do you think about him/her? If so, why?

Yeah, from time to time, I do think about him. The main reason would be because there were just certain things that remind me of him. Sometimes, I'll see something or think about something and it'll make me think about things he used to say or do. At times, its just a subconscious thing, then other times I can't help but let my mind linger on past conversations.

Do you miss them?
I'd be lying to myself if I said that I didn't miss him or that I don't think about him. There's always going to be a part of me that misses him but I guess its for the best.

And do you think you'll love again?

Good question. Although many people may say that they will love again, my answer to this is, I honestly don't know. Given the fact that I can't predict the future, I really don't know if I will ever love again but I will say that you never forget your first love, no matter how good or bad things were with them. Like many others, I don't think I will ever forget my first love.
RomanceRe: Would You Give Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend Your Nairaland Username? by InkedNerd(f): 12:55am On Mar 17, 2012
The only people in my family who know that I'm on Nairaland are my siblings. Aside from that, no one knows. Sometimes, I wonder if I've ever made any disparaging comments to anyone on Nairaland who may be a family member in Nigeria. Or sometimes, I wonder if any of the older men on Nairaland may be a friend of my father--there is one guy in particular who is a friend of my father and given the way he is, at times I wonder. If I had boyfriend who was on Nairaland, I guess I would probably tell them if I was on nairaland--if they know I have a Facebook account, there's no reason not to know that I have a Nairaland account. Besides, there's nothing that I say on Nairaland that I don't say on Facebook, or in person.
RomanceRe: His Complaining Am Getn Skinny Does It Mean He Loves Me Less. by InkedNerd(f): 8:59pm On Mar 16, 2012
@OP: In as much as I like people who take their partner into consideration when they do certain things, I don't believe that it is everything that your partner must had a say in. It's one thing if you are losing weight and have become dangerously skinny/thin and he's just showing concern, its another thing if you're in perfect health and he wants you to gain weight to suit his own personal desire. To note, just because he has made it know that you are "getting skinny" doesn't mean he loves you any less. I could understand if you were in an ill state of health but if that's not the case then you should probably address this with him. I hate when I hear girls talking about gaining or losing weight to suit their partners. If you want or need to gain/lose weight, it should be for you and you only [and for health purposes]. Subjecting yourself to weight gain all for a guy is ridiculous and can be very unhealthy, especially when proper medical assistance isn't administered. I understand that everyone has their personal desires when it comes to the appearance of their partner, but if you don't fit the bill and he states that loves you less because of the weight loss then let him go find someone else who fits into the image he wants in a woman [physically speaking].

phemi3: Dat's is the risk I'm not willing him to take! No life afta death (no 2nd chance).
Oh well, that's his problem. He clearly doesn't see an issue with it. He's been warned. Whether or not be wants to take note of that warning is up to him. All you can do is talk to him and pre-write his eulogy
RomanceRe: What Advice Do You Have For My Pervert Friend? by InkedNerd(f): 7:53pm On Mar 16, 2012
OK2NVME: a pervert is some one with a distorted or sick outlook on s@x. e.g. beastiality, homos, BDSM, etc. Hetro s@X IS GOOD S@X and the more the better. I have only had s@x for like say 29 -30 times this year, some couples must have had s@x more than me but becos they are monagous does that make me a s@x freek cos of the varying partners i had?
Heterosexual sex can still fall under perversion. Biased beliefs don't mean that your not a pervert, though I don't actually believe you're a pervert or a sex freak, you do posses biased notions on what perversion truly is.
RomanceRe: Is It Still Possible To Find A Decent Woman Today ?? by InkedNerd(f): 7:27pm On Mar 16, 2012
OK2NVME: Yeah, all women
How pathetic on your part.

bekay911: ^^ exactly not just 9ja women and men too
Of course its just not Naija women. People just like to go along with idiotic biased beliefs just so they can justify matters in their lives.
RomanceRe: What Advice Do You Have For My Pervert Friend? by InkedNerd(f): 7:24pm On Mar 16, 2012
rosefleurs: having no standard means you do not have boundaries. people without boundaries are untrustworthy and will do anything. i understand your attempt to excuse an hedonistic lifestyle away though. wink

what's with your ugly a,s,s font? grin Kidding, it makes you unique as a matafact. cool lipsrsealed
Hehehe, I like my ugly font lol. I kinda have a think for slab serifs so I like writing like this. I was on another forum that let's its users pick their fonts so when I came here and found that they didn't have that option, I started typing in my own font grin

Anyway, as for the OP's friend, I wasn't trying to excuse his actions, just thought I'd point out that he's just being human. I've known people who have slept with men and women of a high status yet those people they slept with were classless and manner less and I've seen people who have been poor or destitute yet they have been one of the most intelligent and well mannered people I have met. I personally don't think the OP's friend cares about these women on a personal level, he just wants to have his way and hit the road, which is fine. He's not obligated to stick around with or for anyone. But like you said, having no standard means you do not have boundaries. He may grow out of his lack of standard and he may not. For all we know, he may not have any intentions on ever wanting to pursue a relationship of any sort, or he may have a sexual disorder.

I suppose the woman that gave birth to you was only good for one this too?
RomanceRe: He's A Lot Younger by InkedNerd(f): 6:53pm On Mar 16, 2012

RomanceRe: Is It Still Possible To Find A Decent Woman Today ?? by InkedNerd(f): 6:51pm On Mar 16, 2012
@OP: It's funny that you mention not being able to "decent women" today yet fail to mention that it's also hard to find decent men as well. It goes both ways my dear. Just as there are women [regardless of nationality fucking up left and right, there are men [regardless of nationality] doing the same thing. The same thing you claim Nigerian women are doing, there are men doing it to all over the world.

Hmmmm, interesting thread. I'll reply when the posts pick up a bit.
RomanceRe: What Advice Do You Have For My Pervert Friend? by InkedNerd(f):
@OP: Just because he may not have any personal standard for himself doesn't mean he's a pervert. Like OK2NVME pointed out, he's just "sowing his wild oats". You friend is just being a sëxual human being, that's all. As long as he's being safe about it, using protection, and isn't going around causing intentional harm to anyone then I see no problem with it. As for the girl, she may be serious. The only person who knows the extent of her seriousness is she. You friend has been warmed so if he likes, let him try to use the girl and dump her, then later on we'll hear about his pieces being scattered all over some road in Nigeria.

[quote author=Mynd_44]The video would have been more interesting if he had jumped[/quote]That's a horrible thing to say. I suppose when you're ready to jump off a bridge or tower in Nigeria, we should all stand around patiently till you hit the ground, that way it'll be entertainment for us since apparently a human being taking their own life is a good way to pass time for you.
PoliticsRe: Attempted Suicide In Abuja(video Attached) by InkedNerd(f): 1:55am On Mar 16, 2012
@OP: Like someone else here said, I'm actually surprised that they cared enough to help the one. For once, I will say kudos to the Nigerian police.

noiseless: However you prefer to view it,all the gentleman was asking for, was what blongs to him, unfortunately the nazi system some of us are molded into will always deny them the senses to feel or understand any pain their neighbours are going through.
True!
