SMH, wherever all the nice Nigerian guys and girls are hiding, they need to come out. People are starting get restless since they can't find anyone to be with. Its a good thing I don't go around looking for guys to date, otherwise I'd go crazy.

Well, I don't have a preference when it comes to who I relate to. Its so multi-ethnic where I live so I don't really see how I could just hang out with one group. It would make me feel like I'm not really taking advantage of the fact that there so many different groups of people to interact with.

Not its not. People in general act like that. It's not just something women do. I've seen guys act like their God's gift to women but I'm not gonna say all guys are like that. Unfortunately for me I live in an area where there aren't lots of Nigerians sad

@what.lyf

Oh please. Go f**k yourself. I work in the advertising industry and I come across people from various walks of life so my experiences and views on things are very diverse. I'm not going to bury my head in the sand act like it doesn't exist or go around bashing gay people. Last time I checked gay people are human beings as well. What makes you any better than a gay person? Why do you even care? Why is someone else sexual orientation any of your business? As for my parents they know what my views on homosexuality is, and it not an issue for them. They have their views and I have mine, end of story. Yes, I know know Nigerians [and many other African nations] will "never embrace homosexuality" but the fact of the matter is there are gay people in this world whether you like it or not. You and I both know that's not going to change anytime soon.

[quote author=what.lyf link=topic=493574.msg6543993#msg6543993 date=1281397454]@Inked_nerd, what do you mean most nigerians? , though i may agree with you that  you are not a bi, but i strongly believe that you are not heterosexual either, you are a Lezbian, i mean HOMOSEXUAL, being a Homo isn't a big deal but a big shame[/quote]Well, its true so don't act like I just made that line up. Most Nigerians are homophobic, I didn't say all Nigerians. Look fool, call me whatever you like. I know what my sexual orientation is, just because I'm vocal about my views on sex and human sexuality, it doesn't make me a lesbian or bi. Unlike you, I don't go around trying to make people feel bad about who they are.

I'm not bi. I am a heterosexual female, its just that unlike most Nigerians, I don't have a problem with homosexuality. Besides, you didn't need to say "eww" just say you don't like or approve of it, no big deal undecided

Aromokudu:
What are the topics that you would want to see there?

What kind of message do you want to send to the future of our country?

Do you think there should be adverts in it?

Do you know if similar projects going on or people that I could talk to?

Thank you Nairlalanders, your help is greatlyappreciated.
I should have sections for politics [both local and abroad], beauty/fashion, entertainment [music, movies, etc], events [both local and abroad], career section, and an advice column.

As for the message you want to send, it should be multiple messages. Your team should consist of a wide variety of people [different ethnic groups, economic backgrounds, religions, etc]

As an advertising student, I think you should have adverts in it. That's how magazines make money, its not just based on the sales of the magazines.

I do know of similar projects, I'll get back to you when I get a list of all of them.

Hope that answered all your questions.

Family › Re: Most Memorable Teen Moments by InkedNerd(f): 11:13pm On Aug 09, 2010
Well, my teenage years were a blur but here are two things:

(1) I wouldn't necessarily say this was horrible, but there was once a time I called my dad's cell phone and while I was calling him, I was talking to someone near me. What I didn't realize was that his phone had already gone to voice mail, so it recorded everything I was saying. When I got home my dad made fun of me about the whole thing  embarassed The worst part was that the conversation was kind of sexual embarassed

(2) Another one was when my dad was picking up because I'd just gotten back from the University of Vermont, and I asked him to develop some film for me. After he got them developed, he gave them to me and jokingly said to me "Your Indian boyfriend seems very nice". Turns out he looked at the photos and saw all of the photos from what I'd been doing while I was in Vermont  embarassed
