If you go to embassy with incorrect ds160 confirmation code, automatically you will lose your appointment date according to the new warning they sent and it wont be amend there...

You must change your ds160 before your interview date so as not to lose you appointment date and visa fee
But their new policy will be effective from Dec 1, isn't it? They can still condone anyone before that date, I believe. Although, I feel it is better to be on the safe side by doing the needful.

Thank you for ur response. But if I follow that procedure, the no 1 problem there, will be that I will loose my appointment date. See, I want a way that I can change my ds160 code without loosing my appointment date. If I take my new ds160 to the embassy at the date of my interview, which is before DEC 1 , can it be amended there?
Logically, their new policy will be effective from December 1, if you go there before December 1, you will definitely be attended to. Also, I'm sure you must have filled the new ds160 before the mail came in. The date will equally reflect on your New ds160, so worry less and pray more. Favour is your birthright.

I filled a new ds160 form, I hope I still have the opportunity to use my newly filled ds160 because the deadline is DEC 1 but my interview comes up before DEC 1 2014 . Pls gurus advise me......
I hope u followed the procedures after filling the new ds160? If you haven't, pls do. After filling your new ds160 also ensuring that all the info and answers to questions are accurate, proceed to your appointment page, click on the Provide Feedback, send them a message that you want to change your ds160 code. Attach a scanned copy of your passport and the new ds160 confirmation page. You will be responded to within 48hrs (maximum). Afterwards, follow the rest steps as given by them. You may have to reschedule your appointment so that the new ds160 code will reflect on your appoint confirmation page like I did. Best of luck in your endeavours bro.

House, I need your advice on concerning the plight of a friend who already secured admission with Troy and wants me to help her pay SEVIS fee from here. She said an agent helped her secure the admission using Oluwole statement in her dad's name. I discouraged her from patronizing an agent and to desist from taking an Oluwole statement to the embassy. Her uncle is sponsoring her as her dad is based in the UK.

Does she contact Troy to intimate them of a change in sponsor so they can issue a new i20?

Can she just use the i20 since the space with sponsor's name is blank and she has to fill in the sponsor herself. In other words, she can just fill in her uncle's name in the space provided for sponsor's name and proceed?

Thanks!
As long as Troy did not specifically quote the name of the sponsor on the I-20, the person in question can go ahead with the plans. I had same issue too, however, in my case, the person that provided the first statement to the school travelled when I needed the second statement, I had to sort out for another statement since I could not wait for my uncle to return. On the other hand, my sponsor's name was not spelt out on my I20. I went on with all the plans accordingly. The person should be courageous.

Hi guys, I just gained admission for an engineering msc program in d usa. So the next step for me is to get an I20 from the school. As non of my family members have d 7 million bucks in their bank account I think I have to use the bank statement of a non-relative. What are d odds of me.being successful in getting my I20 and ultimately a student visa using a non relative bank statement? And I want to defer my admission from spring 2015 to fall 2015 mainly due to financial reasons - can I tell the school that that's why am deferring? Thanks guys!
You can use a non - relative bank statement for your i20 as well as process ur visa as long as the statement is good for the purpose and you will be able to defend yourself as to what your sponsor stand to gain for spending such a huge some on you. Nigerian culture promotes the extended family system. However, I would not advise you telling your prospective school that you want to defer your admission for financial reasons, there are thousands of cogent reasons apart from finance.
Finally, be courageous, face the dragon and get the gift.

The concerned person can try YCT for spring admission.

Do you mind Law Edu or Law Education There is enough full ride scholarship and lots more
Law edu is such a nice course, however the law part of edu isn't my friend because if I eventually study the course, all Nigerians seeking for waivers won't be privileged to study in US. I'll make sure the law is stiff and consequently will make VO more stern. So, law edu is out of it. A better suggestion, still with a full ride scholarhip, pls. Thanks cheesy grin

Also do you want to stay in hostel or outside school hostel
In addition, please can he get schools that will make him graduate in less time than expected? I'll like to apply to such schools too, oga Walspring, help ur boys oo. I need schools that offer scholarship without standardized tests and that won't request for my academic transcript. I'm going for msc in Mathematical Agriculture.
Thanks in advance.

Through email?
Mr Justwise sir, there are some hidden assumptions in ur recommendations. What do i mean? If u recommend that someone should share anything via email, don't you think that will even divert traffic from NL without your knowledge? However, it would have been more appropriate if NL has a special forum that discusses issues on GRE materials and the likes. Well, you know better, but I don't think posting any external link will jeopardise the progress of NL

You have good gpa, you can apply for msc and if the school want evaluation you evaluate your transcript then write gre and ielts or toefl but all these require money to evaluate your transcript.

I wish you can forget about the agent and do this yourself because they will complicate things for you and you can do this yourself without agent and no U.S. School education is strict if you have your correct documents.

Try and also ready from part 3 to 6 to learn more and get familiar with how to get things done..

N.B---- If you going for msc, it mean you will have to apply for fall 2015 which is next year because of evaluation stuffs and test stuffs.
How I wish people like Walspring, Slimmy05, Bigfrancis and other good guys exist everywhere in Nigeria, Nigeria would have been the best country in the world. I can't imagine someone making a disparaging comment on Walspring ' s suggestions as well as casting vile aspersions on him and he still finds a good reason to do good. Walspring, thumbs up for u. Keep doing good and the best will locate u.
