PoliticsSaraki Unveils What Nigerians Should Expect From N’assembly In 2017 by inspire700(op): 9:51am On Jan 02, 2017
The Senate president said the federal lawmakers would focus on making more laws that will promote the economy, enhance the budget process and support the fight against corruption. According to Today, Dr. Saraki gave this indication while speaking with State House correspondents after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja yesterday.

Saraki said: “In 2017, our attention will be on the economy because that is really a major issue for us as a country. We want to see some of the economic bills put forward passed, to see that there is greater improvement in the budget process in 2017, and to see that the government implements the budget early.”

“Also, one of our pet projects is made-in-Nigeria products. We want to see that government continues to support Nigerians in this area so that we can begin to cushion the difficult times Nigerians are going through.”
“So, next year is very important to us and I think, on the part of National Assembly, we will continue to give our support to ensure that the right things are done,” he said.
He further noted that the senators achieved more in the last three months than they did in the entire year, adding that the National Assembly is settling down and, as such, Nigerians would see many more bills passed for the president to assent, as reported by Today.
On the president’s signing of 17 bills into law, Saraki said, “It shows, in part, what we have been able to do in the National Assembly and there are many more bills to come and the president is also responding to them. You are going to see more of that in 2017; there are a lot of bills lined up.”

Politics"President Buhari Is A Great Beneficiary Of PDP" - Lamido by inspire700(op): 4:35pm On Dec 26, 2016
Former Jigawa State Governor, Dr. Sule Lamido, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari benefitted greatly from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Lamido also criticized Buhari for saying that the PDP administration did not leave any savings in the national purse for him to utilize.

“If there is any great beneficiary of the PDP in Nigeria, the person is Buhari. From 1998 to 1999, there is no way he can get into any contest in Nigeria,” Lamido said during an interview with Daily Trust.
“He can't contest, I don't mean to insult him. But it is simply a historical empirical fact. With all those who are now calling the shots, all thanks to the PDP because the country has been stabilized and reconciled.
“One thing I find very funny is the claim that PDP left nothing in the kitty. To me, I find this very laughable because nowhere in the Nigerian constitution is it mandated that you must save for the incoming government.
“They said we have taken all the money and left nothing. And for 16 years, we have done nothing in Nigeria. We couldn't have been so totally dormant for 16 years. Having done nothing as they claimed and then there is no money, the two don't add up. We left nothing. Therefore, they can't work,” he added.

Lamido also said that Buhari’s anti-corruption war has made the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a sanctuary for thieves.

PoliticsCHIBOK GIRLS: "We’ll Rescue Remaining Girls Soon" - DHQ by inspire700(op): 1:08pm On Dec 26, 2016
The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) will soon rescue the remaining Chibok girls, its spokesman has said.Director of Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Rabe Abubakar gave the assurance on Sunday, December 25, following the December 23 capture of Boko Haram stronghold, Sambisa Forest by the Nigerian Army.

“We should allow for calm in this operation, which is still ongoing. We have yet to come to point zero. We have taken over the heart and the centre of Sambisa,” Abubakar told Punch.
“The operation will culminate with Operation Rescue Finale which will end only when all the captives, including the Chibok girls have been rescued, and this would be soon.
“There are things we want to keep to ourselves for now. Everyone should understand that now that Sambisa is under the control of the military, there will be more rescues. We cannot say what will jeopardize the rescue operations of the troops.
“What we will do with Sambisa is still left with us. We have completely left that as a secret. It is our secret. People shouldn’t preempt us,” he added.
The over 200 Chibok girls were abducted by Boko Haram in April 2014 and believed to be held hostage in Sambisa Forest.
The sect, in October, released 21 of the girls following negotiations which were brokered by the Swiss government.

The Nigerian government has however denied paying a ransom to secure the girls’ release.

Politics"We Are Progressing At A Slow Rate" - VP Osinbajo by inspire700(op): 1:14pm On Dec 23, 2016
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has spoken on challenges confronting the present administration as well as plans to develop small businesses. He assured them of government’s commitment and determination to support the growth of small and medium scale enterprises in the country as efforts were ongoing to fix the challenges in the system.

The Vice President said: “We are progressing but it is slow and the reason it is slow is because there have been a lot of damages in the past.

“For instance look at what is happening in the Niger Delta; that is where we get most of the money.
“But when the boys in the Niger Delta decided in blowing up the pipelines, production dropped from the two million barrels per day that we used to do to one million per day.
“And we lost 60 per cent of what we used to earn from oil, that is partly responsible for the problem that you see today.’’
On the Buhari administration’s reinvigorated rice production programme, Osinbajo said Nigeria was now on the path of improved and sustainable production of rice for domestic consumption contrary to what obtained in the past.
“Now there are many people with jobs because we are beginning to produce rice, mill it locally and distribute.
“In the meantime it will be expensive and when it is expensive there will be suffering but that is the only way we are going to stop importing rice.’’
Prof. Osinbajo encouraged the artisans not to despair as government was focused on addressing key sectors that would improve the economy and create jobs for Nigerians.
According to him, “We are trying to deal with the problem in the Niger Delta, address farming, industry and the economy so that this problem you are talking about will be fixed permanently.”
He, however, told the artisans to brace up as there was no quick-fix to the problems confronting the economy, stressing that “there is no country that can make progress without some pain.’’
He gave the assurance that the administration was addressing the issues on all fronts with the fight against corruption.
“If you don’t fight corruption the money which we are trying to get, some persons will pocket it and that is all and there won’t be anything,’’ he noted.
He solicited the support and cooperation of the artisans and other Nigerians to help revamp the economy for the progress of the nation and assured that the current hardships would soon end.

Jobs/Vacancies3 Ways A Dirty Mindset Can Deny You A Job by inspire700(op): 12:58pm On Dec 23, 2016
What business has jobs with the current state of our minds? Well it has a lot to do with it. The level of your reasoning, determines what comes to you in this life. I can’t expect to win a gold medal when I always have the mindset that all athletic field events are useless. This is exactly how it is with all other disciplines of human lifestyle. In this post today, I will be pointing out few ways a dirty (negative) mindset denies an individual a job that should have been his/hers. Read on.

Human mindset is more like the way the eye is to our brains. What you see makes your brain think and come up with a thought. Same way, your ideology/mindset is the point of view that somehow rules your life in terms of decisions, communications, relationships, career and more. So let us see what happens when it’s negative from the job perspective.

1. It Makes You have less faith in your Application/Resume:
We are in an era where and when applying for jobs are very easy these days online. Folks from Nigeria are used to jobberman, efritin and the rest of them. But how is the mind behind the application and submission of CVs? Sometimes people claim to have faith but actually what they have is nothing compared to the real definition of faith/hope. See what happens here is this; People believe that there are no jobs but when they see an opening, they go for it. But the truth is, there are jobs all over the place but the question is, which one are you looking at?

A Graduate or non-graduate can still have something doing with his/her life. All it takes is a change of mindset towards jobs and the world at large. The TV, radios and newspapers will tell you that there are no jobs based on their calculations but actually those are just bookish analysis because there are jobs all over the place just that we all have failed to awaken them from their mummy graves all over the nations in the world. With all these news of “no jobs” your faith and mindset is tampered and shifted to fear so that even when you apply for a job, you don’t believe that you can get it despite the fact that you are qualified for it. Start thinking positive for it opens doors of positive results for you and always think outside the box.

2. It will make you lazy and skill-less:
The rising unemployment percentage calculations being aired on TVs, radios, and more have made some persons lazy to hunt for what they can actually do with their lives. The mindset has become so negative that it can’t even think of something to improvise on and make a living out of. When we talk about jobs, we don’t just limit ourselves to office white collar jobs alone. A business you founded or a mechanic repair unit you start up is your own job too which you created for yourself.

A negative mindset will weaken your morale from being able to think outside the box to come up with an idea of what to use your brains for. Some persons are good singers but they wouldn’t just volunteer to sing at shows in religious gatherings but instead remain in the audience when actually they can perform more excellently than most music artistes these days. Use what you have as a potential to make a living. You must not have an office to be called one who has a job. There are jobs right inside of you but the problem is that you are not looking at it or even trying to wake it up.

3. It Underestimates Your Potentials:
Some persons will be on Facebook, twitter, instagram seeing someone asking about who can offer a particular kind of service to get paid and wouldn’t give it a shot even when it is related to what they read/studied. You know why? The negative mindset wouldn’t allow him/her to remember that he/she can always take the job and learn quickly and secretly how to do it or offer it to someone with more experience and later share the money to be paid. This is the reason why your mindset and morale must be positive at all times cause it will make you a quick thinker. So why not decide to make a change on this day?

Seek for works you know you can do better at a cheaper rate for a start. If you can fix home electronics and more, you don’t need to have a license/workshop to start. You can visit households and render your service and get paid. Swallow your pride and start out little. You can also work under a friend for some time to raise some money to do something with your life. Never sit back and be left in the dark of joblessness. You are no different from people who are considered billionaires of this time. Always think outside the Box at all times. I have come to discover that I have passion for freelance writing so instread of wasting it, I decided to open a website to publish my contents and I also write for other websites to get paid. No potential is meant to be Inert.

This post was aimed at awakening the genius in you. You deserve better in life than being jobless for your talents/potential needs to be put to work. Don’t wait for the government to provide a job. Start by doing something that is less considered as a job and you will end up becoming a CEO of your own world.

CelebritiesMedia Personality Emma Ugolee Needs N50M For Kidney Transplant(photos) by inspire700(op): 3:45pm On Dec 22, 2016
Veteran broadcaster and ‘king of talk shows’, Emma Ugolee back in June revealed he has been battling kidney disease for four years now.
Now, doctors say his blood vessels are collapsing from 5 years of dialysis. Nigerian singer, Djinee and Sound Sultan took to Instagram to collectively ask for help from Nigerians.
Djinee wrote, "Emma Ugolee called me yesterday and his words were, "Bro, the doctors said they can't continue to prick me anymore. My blood vessels are collapsing from 5 years of dialysis. They said I have to do the surgery now". I sunk.
Because I've been with him for close to half the dialysis sessions and witnessed first hand the pain that comes with the many complications including one failed kidney transplant. How he remains so strong and optimistic beats me.

My friend is not perfect but he is a good soul and deserves better from life. Always looking out for everyone even in his state. In fact, I witnessed one of those sessions where he paid for another patient who was in the same ward, strapped to the dialyser as he was.
And there were many of such bailouts from Emma. His refusal for 5years to solicit for public help characterises Emma's personality. Some might call it pride but I call it the refusal of a man to burden others with "his problem".
So when he called yesterday, it wasn't that he had given up but our (his friends) collective cry for help. Please, I beg of you, look at the picture attached to the post. Support with any amount. HE NEEDS THE SURGERY NOW! NO MORE DIALYSIS! God bless you as you've read this."
The 39-year-old presenter had his first TV stint with Minaj Broadcast International (MBI) between 2000 – 2004. He hails from Abia State and holds OND in Banking and Finance, Bsc in Economics and a MBA in Marketing

Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi is set to reject an offer of N82m (£170,000) a week from China to join Ligue 1 side Marseille.Mikel Obi is set to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window after being frozen out of the team by manager Antonio Conte.

The midfielder has been offered N82m (£170,000) by Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG managed by his former boss, André Villas-Boas.
The offer from the Chinese club is £100,000 more than his current wage at Chelsea but the midfielder rejected the deal as he wants to remain in Europe.
Mikel prefers a move to France to play for Marseille who are ready to pay him his current wage at Chelsea.

PoliticsRIVERS RE-RUN: "Nigerian Police Must Do The Needful" - PDP by inspire700(op): 5:38am On Dec 21, 2016
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers state has said it does not have confidence in the panel set up by the police to investigate what happened during the Rivers rerun election. The PDP also said the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris is sympathetic to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Punch, the Rivers PDP Chairman, Chief Felix Obuah said the biased role of the police during the December 10 election is the cause of the party’s lack of confidence in the panel.
Obuah said “For such panel to make sense to the Rivers people, the police high command especially the Inspector-General of Police should first do the needful.
“The police high command should do so by proving to the Rivers people and indeed, all Nigerians that he is not a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, or at best, sympathetic to APC’s cause.
“First and foremost, the police high command ordered and did withdraw all orderlies attached to all politicians, only to turn back to attach all the orderlies withdrawn from the PDP politicians to those of the APC.

Politics"Presidency Can't Influence Me" - INEC Chairman by inspire700(op): 1:55pm On Dec 18, 2016
Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Friday, December 16, said no one can intimidate or influence him in the running of the Commission.

Yakubu stated this while declaring open a capacity development workshop for INEC press corps, with the theme 'Repositioning the Media for Effective Coverage of Electoral Processes.'
He recalled how INEC workers were brutalised and almost killed during the Rivers rerun election, adding that there were 70 incidences of deliberate obstruction.

He blamed politicians involved in the election for the series of violence that marred the polls, noting that it is as a result of their hate speeches.
On the allegations of bribery against INEC staff, Yakubu said an administrative inquiry will be set up to uncover what transpired, warning that any of them found guilty will be dealt with accordingly.

Responding to a question on whether he was being influenced by the presidency, he said: "For those who know me, it is too late for me to be intimidated by anybody at this stage. There is nothing I am looking for that God has not given me.
"The only job I prayed for is to be a lecturer, but I am a professor.
So anything I do now is a bonus. I don’t think anybody can intimidate me or influence me to do anything at this stage. So, directly or indirectly, I have not been approached by anybody to do anything in any way. There is no influence in INEC; there will never be an influence on INEC."
The Chairman added that the best criterion to assess INEC would be the outcome of polls.
