On one of his more popular tracks, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, a Lagosian if there ever was one, sings “Igba to d’eko, o m’eyo”. It roughly translates to mean, “Since you’ve not been to Lagos, you can’t know Eyo”. This statement is true of the Eyo masquerade and many other novelties that Lagos hides, ready to show anyone who’s willing. Sometimes, the secrets are the kind that has earned Lagos a subtle reputation for infamy, the scary and the scandalous. On Allen Avenue, for instance, the story becomes one of sex and debauchery as soon as night falls. Here are 5 such streets that Allen Avenue would be proud of: 1. Ayilara Street, Ojuelegba Surulere has long been one of the main residential suburbs in Lagos. Its many neighbourhoods are dotted with recording studios that have produced icons like OJB Jezreel and Wizkid. play Ayilara Street is split in two by Ojuelegba's Lawanson Road. However, Ayilara Street is more famous for its brothels than creative spaces. Ayilara is split into two parts: one goes down Lawanson to join Clegg Street; the other was what Nigerian newspapers described as “Sodom and Gomorrah” and a “prostitution haven”. A fair number of the old hotels now shelter praise and worship sessions on Sunday or have been rented, but at places like Empire Hotel, it is still business as usual. 2. Demurin Road, Ketu If you have heard of Ketu or lived there, you have heard of the idea of another of Lagos’ large neighbourhoods, with an improbable balance of young lower-middle-class families and street gangs that form in secondary school. What you have heard of is Demurin Road. Most of Ketu sprouts from Demurin and through its length, it is punctuated by schools, front shops and apartment buildings where pastors and a colony of yahoo boys live in the same block of four flats. 3. Ojelade Street, Mushin: Even though it has lost the suffix, Olosa (meaning: home of thieves”), Mushin is still like the crown jewel of chaos in Lagos’ nether-regions. It is notorious for housing thieves, prostitution, arms stashing and cult wars. play Mushin is home to some of Lagos' most intense slums. Ojelade Street has helped it to earn this reputation. It is one that set of in-roads that latch on to Ikorodu Road from Onipanu to Ojuelegba. Dealers in marijuana and pills are scattered along its length but everyone clears out when violence erupts and this happens fairly often, for many reasons. 4. Ipodo Street, Ikeja One thing that Ipodo does not share with any of the streets above is guile. At one end of the street, there is a shrine to Esu, a rarity even on the mainland. With that same energy, the cast and crew of Ipodo’s shenanigans are always out in the open, day or night, with no regard for who sees. play Ipodo Street is one of the most notorious streets on the Lagos mainland. (The Nation) Traders haggle and professionals walk past while beside them, marijuana and cocaine exchange hands in the open. Drug addicts and destitute men sit beneath the sun ogling commercial sex workers who are there any time of the day looking for customers. Between all these players, the economics of a troubled neighbourhood is near perfect; which makes it likely that the reports of an Ipodo drug cartel may be true. 5. Broad Street, Lagos Island This is one of the oldest streets in Lagos. Its colonial architecture sits beside modern skyscrapers that tell two sides of its long history. Broad Street is at the centre of Lagos Island’s financial district and it is home to banks, discount houses, and other similar institutions. play Broad Street is also home to some of the city's most profitable corporate institutions. But within the abandoned shells of old banks and dilapidated buildings, another side of Broad street flourishes. The area is the scene of a thickly veiled drug trade where dealers stash substantial quantities of cocaine and heroin. The area is also home to a number of hidden stash houses where illegal substances, from counterfeit books to fake documents can be gotten for a fraction of their cost. The Senate on Tuesday called on the Federal Government to immortalise the late former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, by naming the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, or other key federal institution or asset after him. This was sequel to a motion on: The Passing on of Former Vice President, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme (1932-2017), sponsored by Deputy President of the Senate, Mr Ike Ekweremadu, at plenary. He noted that the late elder statesman was an intellectual giant and “consummate professional’’, who pioneered architecture in modern Nigeria and paid his dues to the social, economic, and political development of Nigeria. “The late Dr Alex Ekwueme was a bridge builder, patriot and pan-Nigerian, who played a major role in the post-war reconciliation process in Nigeria. “As Vice President of Nigeria, Ekwueme led exemplary life of unassailable probity and unimpeachable integrity, such that even the military tribunal that tried him during his 20-month detention after the 1984 coup discharged and acquitted him. “The tribunal also empathically stated that Ekwueme left office poorer than he was when he entered it, and to ask more from him was to set a standard, which even angels could not meet,” Ekweremadu said. He described Ekwueme as a legend, fearless soldier of democracy, who, among other efforts, mobilised 34 eminent Nigerians on the platform of G34 to demand an end to military rule and pushed for enthronement of democracy. Contributing, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe (PDP -Abia) said the fondest memory of late Ekwueme was that he remained the only former vice president that left office and still became poor. Also, Sen. Bala Na’Allah (APC- Kebbi) said though the deceased hailed from the South East, he was “a single Nigerian” who contributed immensely to Nigeria’s democracy and future of the country. Na’Allah, who is Deputy Leader of Senate, called for the immortalisation of the former vice president in view of his loyalty to former President Shehu Shagari, with a national institution in Sokoto State. In his remarks, President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, said the death of Ekwueme was a great loss to Nigeria. “He was a great patriot, detribalised and simple person that put Nigeria first. “Ekwueme will be missed by all,” Saraki said. On a voice vote, the motion was unanimously adopted. SOURCE: http://www.gistparkmedia.com/2017/11/senate-urges-fg-to-immortalise-former.html

Nigerian celebrities in the entertainment industry are known for their versatility in different disciplines but not all of them are politically inclined. Today, we have decided to pick out the three (3) of such celebrities who while basking in the affairs of the entertainment industry still joined the political circle of Nigeria. They seem to be doing well in politics as no scandal have been recorded on them so far. Check out the list below. 1. Desmond Elliot: Actor Desmond Elliot was the very first in recent times though was not the only one as at the time of the 2015 elections as others such as Kate Hensahw, Kenneth Oknonkwo contested at different levels but couldn’t make it to the finish line then. Desmond Elliot ran for the state House of Assembly membership to represent his constituency in Lagos state during the 2015 elections and eventually won. He won under the All Progressive Congress (APC) political party. 2. Mercy Johnson Okojie: Actress Mercy Johnson who is popularly known as “Dumebi” because of the role she played in a movie which was viewed widely is also in the political radar of Nigeria now as she was of recently appointed into the office of Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Kogi state Yahaya 3. Efe (#BasedOnLogistics): The Big Brother Naija winner Efe did not only win the show at last but also was brought into the political limelight of Plateau state by Governor Simon Lalong as Ambassador for Entertainment and Creative Industry. It was reported that Efe was a graduate of University of Jos and to that effect has brought a positive effect in recognition to the state’s university and as a result, has bagged himself the aforementioned portfolio in Plateau state. We can all see that out entertainment celebrities have other forms of potentials other than just acting and shooting movies/music videos. Founded in Berlin in 2007, SoundCloud is a social network that is primarily used for the distribution of music for free. If you’re already familiar with other social networks platforms like Facebook and Twitter, then you can think of SoundCloud as a similar type of service, only that it is purposed for the listening and sharing of music. How to sign into SoundCloud For Android and iOS devices, SoundCloud is available for free. And you can also create a SoundCloud account for free, if you don't have an existing SoundCloud account. This can be done by signing up via Facebook, Google+ or by email. How to navigate the SoundCloud App The SoundCloud platform shines brightly on mobile. Once you're in, you'll see that it is easy to navigate. The app has a main section that is used to navigate through everything: Home Like Facebook, the Home is your personalized newsfeed. It shows all the tracks that have been posted and reposted by other SoundCloud users that you follow. You can listen to any track, repost it, like it, add it to a playlist or start a track station. And you can do all these directly from your news feed. Search The app’s search function is used to find any particular user or track that you wish to listen to. Collection This is the tab where you can access all of your likes, recent stations, and playlists. You can also see your profile by tapping the three dots in the top right corner. Music player The music tab will appear when you start playing a tracks. It allows you to easily access the music you're listening to while you're browsing other tabs in the app. Streaming From the home tab, you can tap the arrow at the top labeled "Stream" to quickly browse through what's trending in music and audio. You can also browse through different music genres and forms of audio content. Following other users It can be argued that one of the best features of SoundCloud is its social network-like model. You can keep tabs on your favorite artists, record labels and news outlets as their posts fill your stream, just as a Twitter or Facebook feed would. Once you've found posts that interest you, just click the “Follow” button on the user’s profile and you’ll see every track they post in your stream. How to upload tracks You can upload your songs, once your profile is fully set, by clicking "Upload" next to your avatar in the top navigation bar. With a free account, you can upload up to 120 minutes-worth of sounds. Once you upload a song, verify the title, add a description and label your sound with tags to make it easily findable. Perhaps more importantly, you can add a buy link. Click on "More options" right above the "Save" button before you upload your track. How to create custom playlists? When you hear a track you like, you can tap the three dots on it to add it to any one of your playlists. You can create as many playlists as you want that are public for other users to enjoy or private just for your own use. Start a station to hear a series of similar tracks When you don't have the time or patience to carefully pick out the tracks you want in your own playlists, you can simply tap those three dots on any track you like to have the app play a station with tracks that are similar. And you can always access your most recent stations from your profile. Although, SoundCloud has grown and expanded beyond its original user base, which consists primarily of grassroots musicians, some users have complained that it is losing its fidelity to artists in an attempt to appeal to the masses; and it was claimed that it could be for the preparation of a public sale. Owing to this, there was a launching of a revamped website in 2013 that was heavily reconfigured to be more amenable to listeners. Nigerians over the years have professionalized the art of complaining and blanking out of opportunities that knock at their doorsteps on a daily basis. In Nigeria, people don’t see business ideas/strategies until a neighbor starts one and then it becomes competition for all. But often times an average Nigerian don’t like to sit down and think first instead he rushes into anything he hears that can fetch him quick cash but he forgets that get rich quick schemes later leaves you broke because It can’t continually be a source of income. If you see a Nigerian graduate, ask him what his desires about the future is and you will be amazed at the glorious castles he has built in his mind. Such is good but enquire from him how he intends to get there and hear for yourself his uncertain plans. He will hardly have any plan which is obtainable in line with the visions/goals. At the end of the whole thing, a young man who should have been an established man by age 27 will be seen still launching in and out of petty businesses online and offline. We can see that concrete life plan matters a lot. Here are three (3) ways Nigerian youths miss the fortunes that life has brought forward to them; 1. Neglect of Opportunities: There is a saying that says “opportunity comes but once”. This means that there are certain types of opportunities that are rare that don’t come by so easily. Nigerian youths these days ignore great opportunities mostly because they feel it’s not to their taste or class. So many ideas and platforms to help them start somewhere but most ignore such as it doesn’t give them above N30K on a monthly basis. 2. Waste of Half a Day For Non Profit Activities on Social Media: Many Nigerian youths these days have ended up pay rolling their smartphones on a monthly salary basis by the amount of money they spend on internet data subscriptions. The amount of money spent is appalling as most of them do not have any serious/no source of income and yet spend more than half of it on internet data. If you must be online half a day, be sure it’s for business sake that yields results at a long run but not wasting data for nothing. 3. Neglect of Business Summits/seminars: So many youths in Nigeria don’t fancy the idea of sitting under a business tycoon to learn how certain businesses in the Country works and operate but still have interest in such. You will agree with me that such a youth will encounter unnecessary challenges in starting up such business because the needed knowledge is missing and probably, he/she will end up learning it by losing a fortune first. A proper sitting down and thinking often times is very crucial for youth as air is needed for human survival. Those that think less and work more always end up being used 100% in the labour market as cheap manpower but those that think well and go for wisdom are the business controllers and even if they work as employees, they know their place and offer their best on a needed ground. Rise up and be counted!!!! SOURCE: http://www.gistpark.com/2017/04/3-ways-nigerian-youths-loose-fortunes.html

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson has said that former Delta State governor, James Ibori and the late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha were victims of the Niger Delta struggle. Dickson made the comment on Wednesday, April 5, when Ibori paid a visit to the Government House in Yenagoa. “Both of you are victims of the Niger Delta struggle. You brought our people together to ensure fiscal federalism, resource control and other issues. You did very well,” Dickson said. “You and your late brother were victims in the struggle. He was harassed and hounded to his untimely death. But the Ijaw nation cannot be intimidated. We will work with allies and friends to stand up for the right causes. We lost him at a most difficult time.” “Nobody in this nation will build and sustain leaders for us. Let’s learn from others. Can we say their leaders are better than ours? They were celebrating when he died. “Their calculation was to intimidate us and make southern Ijaw a battleground. With the resilience of our people, we won. You are not just a leader of Delta State. You are our leader. Niger Delta cannot stand in isolation,” he added Ibori, on his part, said he was in Yenagoa, “to commiserate with the people and Government of Bayelsa State over the loss of my dear friend, brother, comrade and soul mate, who died a year ago.” Alamieyeseigha, a former Bayelsa governor, died of a supposed cardiac arrest in October 2015. It is no doubt that Davido is one of the most influential Nigerian musicians by virtue of his kind of music and hypes of wealth show offs in lyrics, social media posts and music videos. besides, who would doubt these riches since his dad is one of the richest in Nigeria? so we can say he's just one of those called "born with a silver spoon". well explaining his wealth background is definitely not the sole aim of this article today but rather an insight into his recent childish behaviours or should we say immature acts with no regards to his fans and what their reactions could be. we will be taking the acts list by list.... 1. Trending Sextape of him and the SA LovePeddler: would Davido be the first Nigerian/world Musician to have a one night stand with some girl after a party? certainly not but allowing his drunk friend to cover the whole nasty moment was a sign of no respect to his fans all across the world. why let such shameful act become a public thing? it all boils down to one thing anyways......Davido needs to grow up!!! 2. Throwing Shades on Social Media: many of you would ask if Davido was the first or the last to use the social media to lash out on any hater online. yes you're right by that thought but does that make it a lifestyle for him? himself and his bro were lashing out on instagram of recent and many of his fans were thinking of who it could be but at certain times, these lash out tweets are thrown at the thin air just to make fans create a room for their personalities in their thoughts. 3. Trending Babymama and Paternal test Saga: it seems Bro. Davido is seriously on a project to raise a community that will help him spend his money in little or no while if not, why is he always busy having babymama sagas? and when it was published on PUNCH, he lashed out on Twitter against the news in a childish manner but we all know that nothing is hidden under the sun......LOL! Nigerian celebs joke with fame forgetting that it's a quicker channel to doom often times for the unwise ones......history has shown and proven that principle to be true as Marvin Gay is a practical example. Toward the end of Genesis, there’s a passage in the Bible where Jacob is shown wrestling with God, “So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, ‘Let me go, for it is daybreak.’ But Jacob replied, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’ The man asked him, ‘What is your name?’ ‘Jacob,’ he answered. Then the man said, ‘Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.’ Jacob said, ‘Please tell me your name.’ But he replied, ‘Why do you ask my name?’ Then he blessed him there.” – Genesis 32:24-29 For a long time, these verses never made much sense to me. What was the point of wrestling with God? Why would the creator of heaven and earth even consent to such a random exercise? Of course, now that I’m older, these words have taken on new meaning for me. I’m sure the same is true for other Christians as well. How many of us can even make it through the week with wrestling with God in some shape or form? In a guest post for The Gospel Coalition, Winfree Brisley reflects on how believers struggle with God by using her own sons as an example. Sometimes they wrestle as a way to foster friendship, but other times these games can turn into one child’s desperate attempt to get away from the other. The parallels between God and humanity are fairly striking. She writes, “Sometimes we wrestle with the Lord as Jacob did and say, ‘I will not let go unless you bless me.’ We persist in pursuing the Lord and don’t give up until he has given us the wisdom, or peace, or contentment, or victory over sin we seek. We grow in relationship with the Lord when we bring him our questions, doubts, and fears and wrestle with him.” “Most likely, we’ll not physically wrestle with the Lord as Jacob did—so what does our wrestling look like? We wrestle with him through prayer, talking to him about questions and concerns. We wrestle with him in his Word, searching its pages for truth that speaks to our situation, meditating on relevant passages, and memorizing verses that encourage or convict us. We wrestle with him through the wise counsel of others. As we hear the preached Word, read books and articles, and have intentional conversations, the Spirit speaks through godly people giving us truth and instruction to process and apply.” Above all, Brisley prays her Christian readers will learn the difference between wrestling with God and wrestling against God. The distinction between the two can be sharp, but also difficult. As an example, I’d like to share about a time several years back when I was simply fed up with the Church. Following God hadn’t taken my life in the direction I had hoped. I was angry, and bitter, and I decided in that moment I was done living my life to please a community which had all but forgotten me. To my surprise though, God would not be set aside. Like a scene from a bad comedy he kept showing up in a hundred different ways, speaking loudly even when I tried to ignore him. Finally, exhausted with it all, I remember sitting down on my bed and just asking, “What do you want from me?” The answer that came wasn’t what I expected, “Keep fighting.” Perhaps you’re in a season of transition, but God still hasn’t shown you where to go. Maybe you’re just burnt out on Church itself, but you can still feel God pulling you back through those doors each Sunday. Wrestling with God can be draining, but as Brisley points out in her article, sometimes it’s only by wrestling with God that we are able to bond with him. So whatever you may be struggling with this week, be encouraged to step into the ring and meet God once again. We may leave the battle bruised like Jacob, but that’s a small price to pay in order to know God. SOURCE: http://www.dailychristianhope.com/2017/03/jacob-wrestled-with-god-and-so-should.html

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed his take on an Igbo president come 2019. Obasanjo made this on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 while playing host to the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun State chapter, at his Abeokuta Hilltop residence. Throwing his weight behind the South-East geopolitical zone, Obasanjo reportedly said he thinks the South East should also have a go at the presidency in 2019 general elections. In his words: Obasanjo said, “Irrespective of the thinking of the people ahead of 2019, I personally think that South-East should have a go at the Presidency too. Continuing, Obasanjo said:"The same is happening here. If Ijebu and Egba have produced the governor, it is only fair and just to allow the Yewa or Ogun West to also produce governor. Or else, one day, they will also stand up and take up arms against this injustice against them. That is my personally position on this.” Obasanjo recently received the immediate ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan at his Ibogun country home where he advised him on taking some of the opportunities the world will offer him. The Army said a fighter jet had misfired and shot some humanitarian aid workers and civilians. The affected workers have been identified as the workers of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), the Medicines Sans Frontiers and some civilians in Kala Balge in Borno during an operation. Maj.-Gen. Lucky Irabor, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, disclosed this during a press briefing on Tuesday in Maiduguri. “This morning, we received a report about the gathering of Boko Haram terrorists around Kala Balge area of Maiduguri. “I coordinated and I directed that the air component of the operation should go and address the problem. “Unfortunately, the strike was conducted but it turned out that other civilians were somewhere around the area and they were affected. “So far, it is a little bit disturbing; death has occurred. There are casualties; there were deaths and injuries but on the actual number of casualties, we would get back to you later. “I am yet to get the number of casualties of civilians killed, but two soldiers were also affected. “Some humanitarian staff of Medicines Sans Frontiers and some staff of International Committee of Red Cross(ICRC) were also affected. “We are sending helicopters to evacuate those that were critically wounded, including our wounded soldiers,” Irabor said. Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau on Monday, January 16, released an audio recording, bragging about the recent bombing in Maiduguri, Borno State. In the recording published on YouTube, Shekau claimed responsibility for the bomb blasts that occurred at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) in the early hours of Monday. He said the mosque was attacked because it was "ungodly." "The bomb that happened this morning (on Monday), it’s my people. Don’t deceive people that it’s a mosque, how would you build a mosque and do ungodly things in it," Shekau said. "We are not angry with Nigeria. You didn’t kill anyone in Sambisa. We are praying that we don’t change; Koran is our teacher; this is the message we are sending to you. Are you [Buhari] as powerful as God? "You should know it’s Shekau talking and I’m alive and it’s we that did it, even if King Pharaoh repents, we will not accept it," the sect's commander added. Two suicide bombers carried out the attacks in UNIMAID - one bomb exploded at a mosque within the school while the second one was detonated at Gate 5 area of the campus. Four persons, including a professor, were killed in the attack, and 17 others were injured. SOURCE: http://www.gistpark.com/2017/01/why-we-attacked-university-of-maiduguri.html

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said Nigeria must move fast to diversify its economy else it will end in regret. He said the days of crude oil as Nigeria's major source of revenue are numbered. "We must be smart and act intelligently and fast," he said. The vice president stated this on Monday, January 16, in when he visited Gbaramatu kingdom in Delta State as part of his peace mission to the Niger Delta region. After meeting behind closed doors with leaders of Gbaramatu at the palace of the Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom, Oboro Gbaraun II Aketekpe, Osinbajo while speaking to a large crowd told the people that the future of the oil industry is full of enormous challenges. He said: "In another 20 to 30 years, our oil won’t be as precious as it is today and that is reality? America has stopped buying oil from us. All the countries of Asia that buy oil from us are building alternative means of power, China and Japan are developing electric cars. In fact, Japan has more charging stations than petrol stations. Solar power is getting cheaper. "The Niger Delta of today is one where aside environmental degradation, between 1998 and 2015, over 20,000 persons have died from fire incidents arising from breaching of the pipelines. "To prepare for a great future for the Gbaramatu kingdom, three things must happen: we must recognise the unique environmental challenges the Niger Delta is facing, we must also recognise that the Niger Delta is a special economic zone for this nation so we must treat it as a special development zone." According to him, this means that the federal and state governments as well as the National Assembly, NDDC and civil societies representing Niger Delta must come together on a round table and map out a strategy for rapid development. "There is no excuse for not planning together. The federal government cannot solve the problem of Niger Delta. It is impossible for the FG to do it alone. The state should devote a substantial portion of its budget to this special project," the Vice President said. He added that the critical areas the federal government is bothered about is infrastructure, disclosing that in the 2017 budget, "we have provided for the commencement of the Lagos–Calabar rail way which will go through Delta." "We are working with the Chinese on this project. When I leave here we will visit the site of the Maritime University. The president has directed the ministry of petroleum to work quick to see to the realisation of all of the objectives of implementing this crucial educational institution. "Establishing this university has passed the second reading in the National Assembly and I know we have the commitment of the members of the national assembly to fast track this bill so that the maritime school will be completed as soon as possible." Osinbajo explained that the maritime university which is expected to start fully in September this year and other government projects cannot become functional without enough revenue which is being frustrated by militants and pipeline vandals. "If there is no revenue, we are deceiving ourselves. There must be revenue and it can only come when there is peace. There should be commitment to peace," he stated. He further said that the PAN Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has submitted a detailed list of 16 issues for dialogue that will help in ascertaining key development priorities, noting that "it is an important working document that represents an excellent road map to the future of Niger Delta." Break up rumours have begun to trail Ice Prince and his girlfriend, Maima Nkewa, following some new snaps she shared on social media.Seems like the model had a wild time at the club last night as she shared snaps of herself grinding on some yet to be identified man. As can be expected, the photos have caused myriad reactions on social media after the fracas the French-Ghanaian model put Ice Prince through. You will recall that there were rumours of Maima cheating on the rapper with an Abuja-based man known as Akinbode who allegedly paid for her chest piercing and paid for her trips to London and Paris. Just when everyone was sure that Ice Prince would dump her for good, he shocked us all by coming to her defence and has been by her side since then, despite the criticisms and backlash that followed the scandal. We'll just wait and see if this is the needle that breaks the camel's back? SOURCE: http://www.gistpark.com/2017/01/break-up-rumour-it-seems-ice-prince-has.html

Simi took some time to cool off at the beach, never mind looking sexy all the while she was there. The singer shared cute, sexy photos from her outing via her Instagram page on Monday, January 9, 2017, but that's not the best part. The singer seems to be at the same beach resort with colleague and friend, Adekunle Gold. On one of the photos Simi shared, she wrote, "Get you a man that can make you laugh." On his own part, Adekunle shared photo from the same beach resort location, tagging it his "Fave place in the world." Although rumours once had it that the pair were an item, both have refuted the claims, explaining that they have just been friends for a long time. Simi and Adekunle Gold have come a long way and may have decided to take things to the next level. Lets not forget all the chemistry between Simi and Falz, making things a bit tricky although they too have refuted claims of a relationship between them, a fact Nigerians are conveniently deaf to. Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama has issued a statement concerning the increasing cases of religious killings in Kaduna and other parts of Nigeria. According to the the President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), these killings prove that people no longer care about the importance of human lives, News Express reports. He asked, “For how long will killings, associated with demented or irrational reasoning continue to be witnessed, especially in Southern Kaduna before a concerted effort is made to stop such carnage permanently. When will one Nigerian life matter or must people be killed in thousands or millions before we realise the humongous damage done to our people. We are becoming so sadistic that we do not see that such brutality creates a culture of impunity, chaos, anarchy and doom; as if the needless killing by Boko Haram is not enough. A culture is developing that does not seem to know the difference between the lives of human beings and that of cows, goats, rams, chickens.’’ Kaigama also made reference to the Bible saying, "The scriptures say that God created man and woman and asked them to increase and multiply and fill the earth, not to depopulate it by act of violence." Moving on, he wrote, "How can human lives be so casually terminated with pictures of dead bodies, decapitated or disfigured corpses shown in the social media. What is mind-boggling is the seeming insensitivity to the killings. Does it not trouble us that the international community is watching Nigeria with great apprehension. The manner lives are being taken right now in Southern Kaduna and many other troubled areas of our nation is tantamount to a declaration of war against helpless and innocent Nigerians.” Afterwards, the CBCN president called on the Federal Government to find a good, lasting solution to this issue. He also advised security agents and others not to take advantage of their weapons. Daniel Wilson is convinced that President Buhari scammed Nigerians and that his change slogan was another tool in his elaborate scheme. The popular singer took a swipe at the president in a statement about his newly released song, Never Again. He said, “My wish is to revolutionize the political terrain in Nigeria through the use of pop culture, music and other forms of the art, strengthening a political awareness among our young people, getting them to better understand what is wrong with our country, helping them to develop a vision for a much better country for a progressive change in our country, not this sham they call change.” Wilson described the All Progressive Congress APC as the worst thing to happen to Nigeria and he would not be alone in his assessment. Many entertainers have expressed disappointment in the Buhari regime as the situation of the country has taken a turn for the worse since his election into power in 2015 In the ways of fellow old timers such as Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and the like, Wilson tackles the failures of the government in his new track which speaks of revolution for the Nigerian people. Wilson made waves with his music back in the 1990's with tracks such as '999' leaving a lasting impression. SOURCE: http://www.gistpark.com/2017/01/president-buharis-regime-is-sham-says.html

It seems like 2017 will be no different for celebrities when it comes to clap backs from celebrities to trolls. Beverly Osu jumped right in with hers when someone took it upon their self to give her unwanted makeup advice. The makeup adviser commented on an Instagram photo of hers, writing, "I hope your new Year resolution is to get a new makeup artist." Osu was very quick to reply and put the troll in her place. She replied, "I hope your New Year goal is to get customers cuz ur store looks likes 90's trend boutique.... but when i get a new makeup artist, i will send her to you, for a serious makeover.... 2017 dear, dnt be in the past, upgrade ur mindset. God bless." Celebrities are not smiling this year, even as more and more awareness on cyber bullying are being raised. 2016 was the year for clapbacks, and it ranged from plain insults to polite rude prayers but knowing Nigerians, it has done little to keep them from sharing their opinions on basically everything. Kemi Adetiba is so used to prayers for her nuptials, it's more hilarious than offensive to her. Another fan has taken it upon herself to send a special prayer to God on her behalf, asking that the video director gets engaged as she turn 37 on January 8. Adetiba who found the post rather amusing shared it on social media, noting that she had been wondering when the marriage prayers would come as it has become a norm. The music video mavin is part of an ever increasing list of Nigerian celebrities who do not believe that marriage completes them and are comfortable being single. Of course, Nigerians do not see it that way and will continue to hound them until they are happily (or unhappily) settled in the homes of their husbands.
