Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has claimed that he spent the last eight years as an “absentee husband”. The governor, whose eight years in office elapses today, was jocular about the distance his highly demanding job had on his closeness to his wife. He said: “I want to go and rest. I have been an absentee husband for long enough. I now want to stay with my wife and enjoy each other. “We are happy we have someone like Gboyega Oyetola succeeding this administration because he knows everything we did and will surely continue where we stop. “So, there is hope for this state. “All praises go to God for not allowing those who wanted to use trick to get to power without vision and who will destroy our legacies and reverse the direction and the development of the state. Every file before getting to me must pass through Oyetola. So, he is set for the job.” Aregbesola came into power on November 27, 2010 after the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, sacked his predecessor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who had spent three and a half years of his second term in office.” SOURCE:https://www.naijamagazineonline.com/2018/11/i-did-not-enjoy-my-wife-for-eight-years.html

U.S serviceman Isaiah Towns, 20, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after he walked in on another soldier allegedly having s*x with his wife. Police arrested Isaiah shortly after 23-year-old Spc. Shakir Cook-Troynel (above) died from a gunshot wound. Shakir was a soldier stationed at Fort Carson base, he was originally from Homestead, Florida. According to the arrest affidavit, Isaiah suspected that his 27-year-old wife was cheating on him, so he went to her home and heard sexual noises coming from the master bedroom. Isaiah told police that he went to the bedroom and found his wife mostly nude, and Shakir was hiding in the closet with the door open. Shakir was Isaiah’s wife babys father. Isaiah told police he had a pistol and that his intention was to “frighten and intimidate Shakir to get answers.” A struggle ensued for the gun, and Isaiah’s pistol shot Shakir in the upper torso. Isaiah then ran outside, tossed the gun toward a dumpster and fled, according to the affidavit. According to police, Isaiah’s wife told him she was filing for divorce just one day before the incident. A Nigerian Lady by the name Cheery Bianze took to Facebook to share what she think is best for women to do to men who prefer Anal sex. She thinks it’s not fair and that the women should rather take the turn of being the ones to penetrate through the back than be the one to be used for such. Below is a screenshot of her post on Facebook; So many persons have reacted to the post on Facebook as it shakes the world of some men who thinks being egocentric in sexual affairs is left for men alone. The International Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law (Intersociety), has asked the Nigerian and Imo State Governments to discontinue, withdraw and discharge all the 10-count charges of treasonable felony, conspiracy to commit treasonable felony and terrorism levelled against over 100 women arrested during a pro Biafra protest. Intersociety, in a statement signed by Board Chairman Emeka Umeagbalasi and Head, Civil Liberties and Rule of Law Programme, Obianuju Joy Igboeli, Esq, accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of pushing Igbos to the wall. “The incarcerated Mothers of Igbo Nation deserve apologies and reparative packages for their wrongful detention and being labeled “terrorists” and “felons” in Government’s panicky and draconian response to their use of “braziers as human rights kits” to protest Government’s sundry atrocities against their children and husbands,” it said. “In line with the recent Judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on unconstitutionality of the so called “Holden Charge”, we further call upon the Chief Justice of Nigeria and the AGF, as case may be, to issue a practice direction to all Magistrates in Nigeria to refrain from using their Courts to effect indiscriminate dumping of suspects in prison custodies especially in offences the said Magistrates and their Courts do not have jurisdiction to try,” “Common sense and logic suffix that where a Magistrate Court cannot exercise jurisdiction over an offence before the Court, such zero jurisdiction must be exercised fully including non admittance of the arraignment of the suspects connected to the zero jurisdiction matter or by not allowing the charge sheet to be read in open Court. The arresting and detaining authorities coming to the Court with such zero jurisdiction matter should be sent out of the Court or ordered to take their detainees to the appropriate Courts (i.e. High Court) and charged them accordingly. “Analysis done by Intersociety on their social and family backgrounds clearly shows that most of them are mothers of young children. Those under this category are between the ages of 22 and 45, numbering 80. Yet their incarceration and torture has attracted little or no attention locally and internationally. “This is in spite of the fact that they did not commit any felony during their street protest, with no gun or rifle of any kind or IEDs found in their possession or from any of them; except flags and insignias and other faith objects such as bangles, chaplets, bibles, necklaces, sachets of water, etc. Still they were arrested, detained, tortured and labeled “terrorists” and “treasonable felons”; with the world maintaining inexplicable silence of congregated and aggregated proportion till date. “It is recalled that the incarcerated Mothers of the Igbo Nation whose names are provided below had on 17th August 2018 embarked on peaceful street protest (guaranteed by Sections 39 and 40 of the 1999 Constitution under rights to freedom of expression, assembly and movement) in Owerri, Imo State. “The street protest was organised by the unarmed, defenseless and innocent women to express their deep displeasure over persecutory policies of the present central Government in Igbo Land including ceaseless killing in hundreds by the same Government of unarmed and defenseless pro Biafra activists and maiming of hundreds of others as well as planned “Army Python Dance 111” and non disclosure of the whereabouts of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and his royal parents, HRH, Eze Israel Okwu and Lolo Ugoeze Nnene Kanu who reportedly went missing following the military invasion of their Afara-ukwu Palace near, Umuahia on 14th September 2017. “The police and other security agencies, on orders of the Government of Imo State and the Federal Government of Nigeria resorted to use of draconian methods by getting them rounded up and detained for three days at the State Police Command Headquarters in Owerri; from where they were arraigned at Owerri Magistrate Court, presided over Mrs. S.K. Kaduruma. The arraignment was with charge number: OW/430/2018: CP Imo State v Ijeoma Okorie (30yrs) & 111 ors. The Legal and Prosecution Department of the State Police Command represented by SP Thaddeus Okechukwu later read 10-count spurious charges of “treasonable felony”, “conspiracy to commit treasonable felony”, “terrorism”, among others. “Despite efforts made by their team of lawyers led by Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor to draw the judicial attention of the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. S.K. Kaduruma to the recent judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria to the effect that “a Magistrate Court that does not have jurisdiction to try an offense brought before her, cannot exercise same jurisdiction she does not have by remanding the alleged offenders of the offence to prison custody”, the presiding Magistrate ignored same, hiding under the same cover of “orders from above” and remanded the 112 Mothers to prison custody and adjourned till 3rd September 2018. Intersociety, in the statement, identified most of the incarcerated women follows: Afoma Umoh Wisdom (64yrs), Virginia Akwufube (62yrs), Ezike Emmanuela (62yrs), Uzoma Oraka (62yrs), Charity Obioha (60yrs), Chinyere Nwachukwu (55yrs), Udeogu Margret (58yrs), Ratchel Okengwu (58yrs), Angelina Felix (55yrs), Monica Anaelechi (54yrs), Esther Osuji (52yrs), Florence Olewembu (52yrs), Nkechi Ekwedisika (52yrs), Kosarachukwu Udegbunam (51yrs), Josephine Ogolo (51yrs), Monica Nwaeleke (50yrs), Mabel Okoire (50yrs), Chika Njoku (50yrs), Grace Nkemakolam (50yrs), Paulina Awunezi (50yrs), Christiana Muonwuba (50yrs), Margret Eze (50yrs), Florence Egede (50yrs), Rose Osuchukwu (50yrs), Comfort Uti (50yrs), Nnedinma Onuoha (49yrs), Agatha Nwachukwu (49yrs).Ijeoma Okorie (30yrs), Uloma Ejiogu (30yrs), Victoria Jacob (45yrs), Vivian Ozuruigbo (30yrs), Chinenye Imo (40yrs), Chinyere Egbulom (38yrs), Cynthia Onyebuchi (31yrs), Chigbata Chinyere (38yrs), Egesi Josephine (41yrs), Hope Eze (45yrs), Ikejiofor Amechi (44yrs), Nkeiru Ajagba (45yrs), Ngozi James (46yrs), Nnene Nweke (46yrs), Lucy Mary Kanu (21yrs), Irole Goodness (30yrs), Ogechi Okechukwu (30yrs), Tochukwu Eze (38yrs), Onyemaechi Ijezie (38yrs), Ginika Awuzie (39yrs), Vero Nnamani (30yrs), Nkwoagu Chinenye (22), Ijeoma Victoria Nnadozie (43yrs), Blessing Udeme (25yrs), Nnewuchi Obiageli (31yrs), Ngozi Onyenwugo (22yrs), Ruth Onwumere (45yrs), Nkeiruka Ohanebo (45yrs), Nzube Uwaigwe (22yrs), Eberechi Iheanacho (39yrs), Ego Nwafor (40yrs), Chinyere Eze (32yrs).Adaku Inyama (45yrs), Ndidi Uchenna (45yrs), Nneka Kingsley (38yrs), Nkeiru Nwankwo (37yrs), Chinwendu David (38yrs), Juliet Nwaiwu (42yrs), Juliet Innocent Onwuka (40yrs), Chinyere Nwankwo (25yrs), Nkeiru Orji (34yrs), Joy Uwabunike (47yrs), Nnene Ibeneli (38yrs), Jane Isaac (25yrs), Kelechi Emmanuel (40yrs), Ngozi Nwajiaku (34yrs), Ugochi Okwum (32yrs), Ifeoma Emmanuel (42yrs), Nkeiru Onyegbari (35yrs), Eucharia Eke (42yrs), Ijeoma Onyedinefu (33yrs), Blessing Nnedede (26yrs), Iheanyichukwu Ogueri (35yrs), Ogochukwu Alaribe (35yrs), Uchechukwu Okoro (48yrs), Iheomachi Ejiaku (40yrs), Uchchukwu Ahamuefula (32yrs).Evelyn Usulo (38yrs), Joy Chimezie (45yrs), Precious Ogbonna (40yrs), Obiageli Nwite (48yrs), Ginika Ndibe (20yrs), Chinelo Ugwueze (38yrs), Nwachukwu Blessing (22yrs), Rita Edet (29yrs), Nnenna Okorie (36yrs), Chinyere Eze (43yrs), Iwuneme Bibian (45yrs), Onuoha Ogechi (no age), Peculiar Nwachukwu (28yrs), Felicia Ike (42yrs), Obiageli Obumsolu (39yrs) Ugonne Godwin (45yrs), Kalunwoke Ekemiri (28yrs), Nwauwa Cecelia (44yrs), Igboka Ngozi, Angela Okeke, Blessing Aguama, Oguchim Chinedu and Mary Okorie (classified in their charge sheet as “adults” but possibly in their 70s) SOURCE: https://gistparkmedia.com/2018/08/biafra-see-names-age-photos-of-112-arrested-ipob-women-in-imo.html

sometimes, the best way to fight evil is through the kindest act. Officer Celeste Jaqueline Ayala is an example of this as she breastfeeds a neglected baby in Berriso, Argentina. On patrol at a local children’s hospital, she hears the baby crying and comforts her. This act has earned her a promotion at her place of work. According to the Hindustan Times, Ayala was able to tell that the infant was in need of food from the sounds it made. How she went viral While sitting on a chair showcasing her mother instincts, Marcos Heredia, a colleague of the policewoman took a picture of her and posted it on Facebook. The post has been shared 112,000 times on the social media platform. “I want to make public this great gesture of love that you had today with that little baby," reads Heredia's comment accompanying the picture. She reportedly took permission from the healthcare center before making to breastfeed the neglected baby. HT confirms the incident took place on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. The Senator representing the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Bassey Albert, has said no amount of intimidation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will make him abandon the Peoples Democratic Party. Albert, who is the only PDP senator left in Akwa Ibom, said he was ready to stand by the party through which he won the election, adding that if similar situation presented itself in future, he would still remain with the party. The EFCC on Monday filed a 14-count charge at an Ikeja High Court against Albert for allegedly receiving 12 cars worth N254m between 2010 and 2014 while serving as the finance commissioner during the administration of Gov. Godswill Akpabio as bribes from one Olajide Omokore, a businessman, who was equally arraigned on seven counts for allegedly offering gratification and bribes to a public official. Speaking during a media event on Tuesday in Uyo, Albert noted that it was funny for him to be charged to court on account of his stewardship as a commissioner in the state some three years ago. He said, “As a commissioner, I reported to my governor. So, if anybody is to be charged to court it should be the governor to whom I reported. “Today, I’ve woken up to see I’ve been charged to court. I don’t have any business there. My lawyers are ready. But whatever case you are seeing is orchestrated by someone in this state to coerce me into the APC. You can’t tell me if I jump over to APC, all charges will be dropped.” SOURCE: https://gistparkmedia.com/2018/08/senator-bassey-albert-efcc-wont-make-defect.html

Visiting a new place is a good way to look at your own life and see it from the other side, so to speak. Seeing places where people have different rights, different incomes and different ideas will make you challenge your own experiences and opinions and help you appreciate the good in your life that it’s often so easy to take for granted. Opening your mind There is just no denying that travel is essential to opening the mind. As you meet different people, have new experiences and visit foreign places, the reality of these things shatter any preconceived ideas you might have had before. You’ll see people as people just like you and not as stereotypes based on geography, and that there’s more to famous cities than their well-known sights. The challenges, the kindness of strangers, and the beauty and diversity of the natural world will only make you more open and accepting of different ways of thinking and being. It increases motivation Being exposed to a different socio-economic environment is a great motivator. For example, experiencing life in a developed country shows you that the possibilities are endless. On the other hand, visiting a less developed country may motivate you to use your work for the betterment of society. It is relaxing Travelling for leisure is relaxing. You get to step out of your bubble and see what’s really going on in the world. It gives you an opportunity to do what you want, when you want, and how you want to. It gives you a break from the daily grind. Detoxing your mind in this way creates room for great ideas to flourish. Making memories This one is a little cliché, but it’s true: no one looks back on their life and wishes they’d upgraded their iPhones more regularly. They think back on the unforgettable train ride in Europe, the time they got lost in New York and found the best hot dog vendor, or how they met their husband at a hostel. Your travel experiences will always be with you and when you need a pick me up, they can be a valuable resource for reminding you how good life can be SOURCE : https://www.gistparkmedia.com/2018/04/6-reasons-why-you-should-travel-for.html

National Youth Service Corp orientation camp is a regimented environment full of rules that are upheld by soldiers, Man O war officials and Police officers. In the face of these uniform men, you can not afford to mess up. Even if you do with Police and the Man' O war guys, you dare not try to look the soldiers in the face, they will impress you with how well they use Koboko. These men's job is to make sure all corps Members keep to the NYSC rules and regulations through out their three weeks orientation programs. Because of the so many rules that govern the camp, corps members often find themselves violating one rule or the other out of exuberance. Breaking some of these rules could attract trial at the camp court. However, there are some rules that corps members easily comply with and don't bother to violate. Light Out: Every activity in NYSC camp nationwide is brought to an end at 10pm when the beagle sounds for light out. Once the beagle blower comes around to announce light out, soldiers move around to ensure all corps members are in their hostels. Whoever is caught outside the hostel is punished. Standing still for Nigeria: Another rule that is religiously observed in the camp has to do with paying respect to Nigeria when she is going to bed at 6pm. This in all camps is a moment of no movement when Corps members are expected to stand still wherever they are once the trumpet is blown to lower the flag. Any corp member caught moving while this is being observed could find himself in trouble with the soldiers. Wearing 6/7 for swearing in ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony is usually done in the first week of the orientation camp opening. This ceremony requires all corps members to wear their NYSC attire which entails the cap, crested vest, khaki trouser, belt, socks and jungle boot, except the Khaki shirt. White shirt on parade ground: There is nothing required of all corp members to wear to the parade ground than their white shirts and shorts. The all-white attire is for the parade ground and the NYSC rule does not permit you to wear anything on it. Not even your Khaki shirt. Of all the orientation camp rules, the bulk of corp members hardly grumble about these four. They readily accept them and make no fuss about these rules. We get it that engagements might become a bit cliché these days and a might arise to do something different so as to make the day remarkable and forever-treasured by your partner. Whatever you do, though, there are still some lines you should not cross in your bid to pull a huge, creative surprise proposal. Below we list 6 types of these mistakes. 1. Fake death Whatever you do, don’t be like the guy in the clip below who faked his death so as to create a stirring story. You shouldn’t put your partner through the harrows of a death scare just so you can now play Lazarus and propose afterwards. Dead that morbid idea, sir. 2. Fake arrest We agree that a little drama might make for a great story but faking an arrest sounds… a bit extreme. No one wants to joke with SARS, abeg. 3. The wedding proposal Don’t propose at another person’s wedding. It is as simple as that. Hopefully everyone has learnt that lesson. 4. The crisis engagement Don’t propose during a fight. This is a no-brainer. Even if the ring is bought and ready to go, let cooler heads prevail before those four big words fly. 5. Prank proposal It’ll be a little mighty insensitive to pull an April first engagement prank with your babe. And the act is not cruel only on the annual first day of April wankfest. A prank proposal is uncool wherever, whenever you do it. Don’t be that guy [or babe] play Try to avoid an accidental proposal wedding proposals like the one that happened in "The Wedding Part 2" (Bongis) 6. An accidental proposal The only thing worse than a botched proposal is an accidental one. Don’t give rings as random gifts to your babe if you know your relationship has reached that stage where an engagement is to be expected. Also try to stay away from giving her gifts that come in tiny boxes. She might begin screaming ‘yes, I’ll marry you’ before you have time to explain that it’s just earrings in the box! The Lagos State Government on Saturday announced the ban on the operations of cart pushers and wheelbarrow operators, saying their activities are inimical to the environmental cleanliness of the state. The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello, made this known in a statement in Lagos. Bello said that with the flag off of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI), the continuous activities of cart pushers would pose a threat to the success of the initiative. He said investigations had revealed that the cart pushers were responsible for most of the illegal dumping of waste in canals and road medians at night which causes flooding. Bello said that aside from constituting environmental nuisance, they also constitute security threat. 1. “What the state government has discovered is that these people use the night to perpetrate all sorts of dastardly acts. 2.“They dump refuse indiscriminately on the median of major roads and highways. 3.“They also pose serious security threats because they use those carts to hide arms and ammunition under the guise of carrying refuse to rob unsuspecting residents,” he said. Bello said the state government had finalised plans to ensure that the CLI covers every area of the state and that refuses were well packed and collected. He urged residents to desist from patronising the banned cart pusher operators or risk prosecution. “Security agencies in the state have been directed to ensure that those found still operating are arrested and prosecuted according to the State Environmental Laws. “The law also applies to residents who patronise cart pushers. “It is an offence and the state government will not hesitate to enforce the law to put a stop to such practice,” Bello said. Nigerian music lovers can now unite in the unforeseen peaceful co-existence and the exchange of brotherly love between Wizkid and Davido. For most part of 2017, the two singers went head-to-head for the top spot of African music and the duel caused a crack in the circle of music lovers. Nigerians were literally split between the two artistes. However, following the festive-period reconciliation, the two superstars appear happy to share the top spot and their fans are now expected to exchange pleasantries rather than insults. The much-celebrated friendship/brotherhood has swelled expectations from fans, especially as the new music year starts to take form. Nigerians have a lot of expectations from the Wizkid- Davido friendship in 2018. Here is a list of them: 1. Collaboration Fans have started talking about a collaboration between the two African kings and there has been hints that the two singers are working on a collaboration already. Some fans are wishing for a joint EP but it looks more likely that their collaborative effort will feature on Davido’s sophomore album which is set to drop during the course of the year. 2. Mutuality in their International Penetration: Nigerian music has become highly in-demand in the international music community. Wizkid and Davido are two of Nigeria’s biggest export and before now, this has been a source of intense rivalry between the two. Now that they are on good terms, it is expected that the two singers can work together to speed up the penetration of the Nigerian sound into the global music community, through referrals, link-ups, idea sharing and perhaps a syndicate of African music stars collaborating with international music figures. Lot of social media teasers Already there has been a lot “my brother,” “my G” exchanges between the two artistes on social media. It does not look like that would cease anytime soon. It is expected that more party-time pictures and in-the club clips of the two stars would be seen on social media platforms as the year runs down. 3. Period of calm in the industry: Without doubt, Wizkid and Davido command the largest following in the Nigerian music industry. Their names are like sugar to ants, once it pops up, multitude of fans gather around it. Their2017 face-off led to a chaotic ambience in the industry, with their loyalists hurling abusesat each other, even the two superstars almost came to blows. Now that they are buddies, we can expect a period of calm in the industry, with more of music making and less noise making. 4. Another fall-out: Something about the Wizkid-Davido reconciliation still feels unreal. It seems too artificial and maybe even forced. It is like they both signed an agreement to just give their fans an end of year gift. The whole thing looks like the best scenes of a make-believe movie. And like every movie, there is always the ending part. I would not be surprised if somewhere along the line, the artificial brotherhood doesn't play out and the competition between the two heats up to the point where they both go back to crossing swords over who should be named “King of African music”.
