Is this not the Capital Oil man that has refused to pay back Coscharis his N21billion? Is this not the same person who's company AMCON has nearly taken over? Is this not the same swindle that cheated several innocent people and owes Billions to the banks ?Nigerians can now see that NLC is a TOTAL JOKE. A team of money grubbers and deceive the populace with words.. But choi...this guy would use Anambra's money to repay his debts sha...perfect next move for him. "If I can't make the money...I can as well steal the money". |
I think a lot of Nigerians have little knowledge on how slow it can be for things to turn around for our dear country...things got this bad over DECADES...a GEJ can't get everything fixed in 2,3 or even 4 years...he can only ensure things are on the right part to get better. As for me...one of the reasons I support GEJ for 2015 is so that when the 2016 census comes...we can see how many Cows, Fishes, Goats and Chickens have been counted amongst our population over the years...he delivered credible elections and would definitely deliver as close a credible census as we've ever had...perhaps this is why the North doesn't want him re-elected soo bad. |
DanNafada: Really?! |
roxell120: wen I look at fixing nigeria frm Mr presidents view point I shed tears of helplessness. who are u going to work with nd trust him without doubt. who is going to help drive ur dream of transformation? our constitution makes it impossible to choose those u trust their competence and capabilities cos ministers must be nominated from all states whom the president cant vouch for their allegiance, capability nd trust.if he reshuffles them to inject competent hands it slows policy formulation nd implementation while the clock is ticking nd nigerians are crying and stoning for result.changes of these ministers are majorly viewed to be political and stirs a lot of debate. to me jonathan has been lucky to work with few ministers who are willing to give his administration good credibility eg aviation, finance(engine room),agriculture, works, and others.I pray this permitation of his will definitely deliver to us our much expected development.Fact is with our present constitution...it is very difficult to select the right people as ministers...you can't possibly have technocrats, people like NOI or the Minister of Agric in every position cause at the end of the day...this people hold little political sway in their respective states...the governors would probably ride on that and see that they continue to frustrate your efforts for their selfish reasons... Ministers are hugely important for any re-election effort...and the best a president can do is to elect some technocrat ministers, and some political ministers...an FG with a purely technocratic setup would be doomed to fail politically. |
lekea4: is it the FG that imported umbrellas or the PDP? AND if its the FG what the hell do we need umbrellas for in this country?NIGERIA (or should I say NIGERIANS) imported the umbrellas not the FG. |
[s]Foolish Nigerians as usual... Praising political strategy to buy votes for 2015...[/s] What did he do in his 1st 2years? He probably awarded the contracts. Why is it now that we are hearing this news? Because it takes time for construction projects to move from awarded to in progress to completed...often years. When will you people ever learn that it's the very nature of PDP to execute projects in massive scale as election approaches? Only a fairy can execute large scale projects from contract awards to completion as election approaches...any hardworking president that is a normal human being would have to have done the hard work and gone through years of planning and making funds available for the project...of course because an expansive or large scale as you've called it project takes years to complete...it's only common sense that 2-3 years after a President gains power is when the success or failure of these proejcts would begin to surface. When will ever learn that they often hold on till last minutes to election before doing anything? See above answer. Why is all this happening in 2013 when he had been in office since 2011? See above answer. [s]Fools are the cause of Nigeria's woes because they fail to apply logical reasoning to x-ray tactical strategies often used by PDP[/s] even the APC can't construct railways by snapping their fingers...these projects take years to accomplish.
|
leighcon: ^^Spot on. |
omonnakoda: Which logic is that one ? Ibo logic ,Zulu logic or korean logic ?Common sense logic. Compare our production environment to a country with stable electricity , transportation and effective grains storage and you'd get me . |
leighcon: @Awodman, @rainbowman, @Berem, @ObiageliNice point...but Aregbesola's policy besides my view that it won't be sustained beyond his government, his policy runs the risk of inflating prices in the Egg market. Governments contracts are structured such that the seller will sell his goods at a higher price....so why would they now sell to the masses at a lower price when they can as well sell to the Osun government for better gains. If you're thinking that there would be enough eggs to supply government and still meet demand through the normal market channels...ask yourself what would happen when the 300,000 eggs Osun government buys stops...supply would become increased and the growers would suffer as prices would fall even further or worse still, their eggs would go to waste, and they'd have to cut down on production by laying off personnel thus defeating the original intended purpose of the scheme in the first place. I feel the better policy is assisting the growers with a better environment, rather than forcing demand that would disappear someday. |
Guk: I have a personal feeling that he Minister of Agric's Measurement/Metrics Information System is faulty but i may be wrong. He said we have achieved 33% production of rice meaning that every 1 in 3 bags of rice is produced in Nigeria.Local rice production would logically be more expensive to produce (grow, store and ship to market), compared to the imported rice. This means it may not be able to force down the price of the imported rice until the government does something drastic to ensure that imported rice is more expensive to bring into the country thus giving local rice a fighting chance (by raising importies for example). Furthermore, the government wouldn't be able to take such measures until local rice production comes up to a point whereby it is capable of meeting local demand. |
Obiagelli:Sorry to add but I feel you are being one-sided and a little bit unfair to the minister. For one there is no market rolling needed to be set, as the market is already there. Farming is not lucrative because of the following reasons: 1. Storage deficiencies 2. Transportation deficiencies 3. Access to capital 4. Access to fertilizers Truely, you must consider that fertilizer subsidy did not start with Jonathan's administration...they've only sought to improve the process by reducing middle thereby ensuring that the actual farmers get fertilizers at reduced cost. Unfortunately, that "actual" isn't 100% correct yet, but I know things are a lot better than they were. Summary: Things are improving but we are not there yet. The Minister is on the right track and only needs to ensure complete see-through of the policies he has put in motion. |
1. You can't have 40,000MW in 4 years...not even in 8 years...our gas infrastructure would need to be upgraded, we woul need to build a lot more power plants, expand our distribution network to support the extra power. It's very unlikely we'd be able to afford all this (1,000MW costs approx $1bn). I think at this stage in our political climate, we should have technocrat politicians. Give us how you intend achieving what you want to achieve rather than make blanket statements...the APC has said nothing of its proposed budget structure (e.g what % of the budget to go to power for it to meet its 40000MW target), how many plants it intends to build and all that..basically this same issue affects all the other things they are proposing. My finding is that good intentions may lead to good policies, but not necessarily good leadership...the thing is that a lot of politicians find that without having made concrete plans on those blanket statements they make...they find that the situation on ground is a lot different than what they envisaged. |
@jakumo said it all |

FreeGlobe: wth? Even Ghana is shitting on Nigeria. Now this is where I have problems with those agencies that keep telling us Nigeria will be amongst top 20 economies in the world by 2020 or 2050. Really funny from this statistics.Ghana's economy would never become a top 20 before Nigeria all things being equal. They are on par with Lagos state and not the entire Nigeria. They have few citizens, this is why they can afford to be generating less than 2000MW and still have 24hr power supply. |
This is not bill gates house. His house is waaaaayy bigger than this...don't have access to the pics unfortunately. Bill gates house is made of wood and not concrete. Its color is also brown not cream or whatever color that is. Plus there's a lake facing the house. |
mysticgal: My Dad always says''A WISE FATHER LEAVETH INHERITANCE FOR HIS CHILDREN''but this piece is confusing. To put things in proper perspective with the articles context, I know Bill Gates intends to leave $10million for each of his kids. Not so much in the grand scheme of things considering his entire wealth, but still good enough money for them to live a nice life and be their own person. |
Prof Corruption: At 24? That guy is more than 30!If he said he was 19, na still you for complain. Nigerians and hypocrisy. Does his face even look like he's 30? |
Bliss4Lyfe: Pharmacist have specialist knowledge. To clear things up for everyone. The drug they use was Rohypnol. Now it's not an Over-the-Counter drug meaning you need a prescription to get it but seeing the way Nigeria is, a lot of Pharmacists sell drugs without prescriptions for a lot of reasons sometimes compassionately. Apparently the pharmacist in question sold this drug to the killers who in turn used it for bad. Now I should add that this drug is a perfectly legal drug for treating insomnia and anxiety disorders in several countries around the world. In other places where Rohypnol isn't used cause of its bad reputation, others such as diazepam or bromazepam are used...but they all are in the same class of drugs. How were the pharmacists roped into the case? After receiving statements from the suspects that they bought the drug used to sedate the victim from a popular pharmacy in Festac, a police operative went undercover to the same pharmacy and then asked to buy the drug for his health condition (he was an elderly guy so completely believable). The drugs were sold to him...and the pharmacist was arrested as an accomplice to murder. It's a story of being at the right place at the wrong place for these pharmacists. One on hand the police is right to have them arrested and investigated to see if indeed they were accomplices with premeditated knowledge of the case, one another hand, a judge can't jail these guys for being accessories to murder. My bet is they'll be seperated and subsequently struck out from this case at some point as should be the case. The normal disciplinary course of action in situations such as this is for the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria to conduct an enquiry and then discipline, suspend or revoke the licenses of these pharmacists according to their laws. |
Does anyone know what the message "provided IP unknown is not valid" while logging in to Ladbrokes means? |
@Jobexpert, I'm currently studying for CompTIA Security+...have a CCNA certificate that expired 2012. Great IT security enthusiast though yet to get any qualifications in that regard. Can I apply? |
zazawaga: Behind every rumour dear........A reliable source just informed me that zazawaga is an occultist illuminati satanist worshipper....now you have a rumour. |
Blyss: Humm, well the Nigerian troops are not carrying side arms. If you are going into battle, it's important that you carry a side arm with you along with your primary rifle. No side arms but they are carrying knives, that's a side weapon. Plus side arms (pistols) are mainly useless in war situations. They have less range and far less shooting power. Your better off scrambling a dead soldiers AK or rifle than using your side arm to fight in a war. |

Originalsly: Very well....but you would agree that is because of a more police action rather than military action.Getting information is the key to solving such a crisis. With all the years the US Military combined with the British were fighting the Taliban and still can't defeat them. They are now sitting down with them and negotiating. If you mean police action as in the effort of the Nigerian Police (more of Mobile Police cef) then I think your wrong as they have not done as much in terms of the intelligence gathering compared to what the SSS and DIA have done so far. The DIA is a military organization. Plus you can't really compare the SSS and NIA intelligence gathering assets to the Nigerian Police. An example is Wiretapping more by the SSS and NIA than the Police (this has been successful in preventing future bombings so far). Of course everyone knows that police action (as in intelligence) is a better treatment to the raw force of a conventional army. But the difference with the Mali case is that these terrorists hold territory. Boko Haram holds no territory. They simply attack and disappear. The Malian insurgents have conducted themselves as the governing authority in most of Northern Mali. You need brutal force to dislodge them and dissipate these terrorists in numbers before using intelligence to fish out the remaining disgruntled elements that may want to convert to covert terrorist bombings as they lose territory. |
