Igbos are sort of landlocked and will be at the mercies of those in the coastal region to be able to thrive in what they do best- Importation Besides they have more at stake because they migrate a lot and have lots of choice properties scattered all over Nigeria. Igbos hardly rally around a common political idea, this coupled with the many communities(some speaking what others cannot understand with some even claiming they are not Igbos like the Onitcha people) will really make inter dissatisfaction inevitable. These days, there is hardly an Igbo community or town that is not divided especially in Anambra. You hear of autonomous communities here and there. This divisions clearly show that an average Igbo man want control. In this new Eastern country, who will lead them and into how many countries will they divide in the near future. |
The biggest asset the Yorubas have is Lagos. Lagos is a conglomeration of diverse ethnicities and If Nigeria divides, the population of Lagos will reduce drastically together with it's influence. Investors will also dwindle. Some States in the west will want to claim the Oodua capital and this will bring about serious division coupled with how leadership will emerge. Foodstuffs brought in from other parts of Nigeria will be expensive especially meat and beans. I do not forsee the Yorubas wanting to break Lagos which is already bribing development to other parts of the West. |
bad meat: It will solve our problems wellaHow? I really want facts of proof. This is am enlightenment thread where we should educate ourselves. |
I have followed with interest the intrigues that surround the call for a Sovereign or Non sovereign National Conference. Many have argued that 1914 amalgamation was a big mistake while others maintain that our strength is in our number. I think we need to be informed before taking a stand so as not to join the bandwagon driven by sentiments, greed, avarice and struggle for political control by few individuals. Let me start with the Niger Deltans. They believe they have been marginalized and their resources forcefully taken over from them to develop Nigeria and so on but I have these thoughts for them: 1. Their leaders have received derivation fund for years, what exactly has those Niger deltan sons done with that fund to benefit the people of region? All the compensation money from oil companies, has it being used to better the life of the people or to provide basic infrastructure? 2. The NDDC is manned by Niger deltans, yet their eyes and ears are closed to the suffering of their people. The leadership instead loot funds meant for development and enrich their cronies and immediate families. 3. The president is from Niger delta. Has he done enough to empower his people asides paying millions of dollars to an ex militant to secure pipelines which MEND claims to destroy thereby polluting the communal lands and waters more. Now fast forward to a divided Nigeria, are these same people looting the region dry not the ones that will be the leaders then? What would they do differently? Will they suddenly become humane? I doubt so. Will the ijaws not want to be in charge? Will the Urhobos and Itshekiris oblige them? Will the Kalabaris and Isokos tag along? Will the division that chased them from Nigeria not tear them apart? I really want objective input from well meaning Nigerians for or against division so as to know the real situation on ground before we embark on this journey of no return. I'll be right back with more. |
taharqa: Who is this DONKEY talking to?? Is it yr father that is exposing these Thieves? So you didn't know that ALL of those former Pension thieves did most the stealing b4 GEJ became President (though, not sure of these new ones) and that it was cos of d President's Task Force and Okonjo-Iweala's Audit of d Civil Service almost immediately she returned in an attempt to reduce Recurrent Expenditure/Overheads (the sameI never expected much from you anyway! Resort to name calling for all I care I will NEVER descend to your level and until you tell me who appointed Maina and what he did while in office, you are just as irrelevant. Lies don't ever stand the test of time! BTW, I prefer to be an honest donkey to being a dumb paid white faced liar! |
taharqa: I hope that d IJIOTS who hv commented on this thread undastad that it is President Jonathan's Task Force that is exposing and prosecuting these Pension Thieves in d ministry (most of which happened b4 his tenure). Compare to d FRAUD going on in lagos, esp that LekkiEpe SCAM, where Fashola refused to release info to the people who took d State to court unda d guise that the State does not recognise d Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill...The easiest way to recognize sycophants is that they result to name calling when boxed to a corner. Show us proof that GEJ uncovered the rot in the system... Or I forgot, Maina his pension taskforce head that stole billions of the pension fund was appointed by Ibb and Abacha ![]() |
Omexonomy: That money was been stolen right from the days of ibb abacha obj et al. Gej is just trying to expose them and the amount been stolen so as to show the public what is going.Abeg find another lie. Ibb ko, Abacha ni! GEJ, the saint who says corruption isn't our problem! |
Okija_juju: What that catholic church did is criminal under the Nigeria Marriage Act which the Catholic church suscribes to and weds people under. So why did the catholic church wed Bianca while Ojukwu was still married to two women? How about our men who marry white women abroad for papers then come back home to marry and wed a Nigerian in church? Have you also not seen anybody do such? |
Okija_juju: What that catholic church did is criminal under the Nigeria Marriage Act which the Catholic church suscribes to and weds people under. So why did the catholic church we'd Bianca while Ojukwu was still married to two women? How about our men who marry white women abroad for papers then come back home to marry and wed a Nigerian in church? Have you also not seen anybody do such? |
Ndipe: Bianca once stated openly to Sunnews magazine that she was Ojukwu's only legal wife and challenged any other living woman to produce a copy of their marriage certificate. She further stated that they got married in a Roman Catholic Church which would have been impossible, according to her, if Ojukwu was still married, cos that would have been considered bigamy in the eyes ofFunke Akindele also made the same costly assumption until it dawned on her that court marriage does not make any marriage more legal that customary marriage. I have seen cases where churches(Catholic church) inclusive wedded a man with his second or third wife provided he has not wedded in that church before especially those who are influential. She should have asked for evidence of marriage and not marriage certificate or is customary marriage not recognized by the law? and Is there any community that issue marriage certificate to traditionally married couples. Let's all shelve sentiments aside. In Igboland, if you wed in court or church without the traditional marriage ceremony, you are not considered married. No court can state otherwise. |
sheniqua: So they should fight a widow and her young children endlessly because the father didn't give them what they wanted? That is not even the issue. I only included the personal properties and money Ojukwu willed to her for you to know that she already has more than enough. Now those properties she went to court for do not belong to her husband but to her father in law! Considering all that she acquired through Ojukwu, is it not right that she hands off the properties that belong to OTL? |
sheniqua: FYI Ojukwu was never married to Debe's motherI never included Debe's mother! Njideka gave birth to Emeka jnr and two others while Stella adopted a girl. Mind you, it is not about his children acquiring things for them selves but about doing what is morally right. All children whether young or old are entitled to their parents' inheritance. It is their right! Afterall Bianca knew they were there before she entered the family. When one person ascribes to his or her self what belongs to all, that person is termed GREEDY. Bianca already has enough. She should understand that others weren't plucked from trees. Emee nwata ka emeri Ibe ya, obi adi ya mma. Live and let live. |
punta: I don't want to believe that greed is pushing Bianca to fight for these properties, they must have been willed to her legally by Ikemba. They were married her in church in the late 80s and some years later after her father had forgiven her for marrying Ojukwu, he gae them his blessings at their traditional wedding ceremony in their hometown Ngwo.So you think Bianca is bigger than the Ojukwus because they have three lawyers? U are mistaken! Odumegwu Ojukwu family are equal to the task. Are you not surprised the Ojukwus asked for proof of marriage? Bianca married Ojukwu while he was still legally married to two women. That is not a plus for Bianca in this case coupled with the FFK saga, this case will be especially messy for her. If not about the wealth, why is she willing to drag her name in the mud when she is already in possession of all her husbands personal effects and money allegedly running into billions? Afterall, her father has over 200 houses in Enugu alone according to you. If you were the first wife, how would you feel if your husband neglected your children and willed almost everything to his third wife after you suffered with him in thick and thin? Nwanne be fair cos 'amaka m ihe di na Ozubulu bu amaghi ama di na Nnewi' |
musiwa29: put it this way. if i sleep with you. and you have a child for me. you get everything i have.. even if i never married you. or even if it is a one night standThis is not applicable to many cultures, in igboland, if the woman's bride price is not paid, her child/children gets nothing from the man's assets! |
Can't I still vote? @ Mynd. I just breezed in... Pls |
That there is no record of the birth or reign of Melchizedek does not mean he has none. I am not for or against tithe. I only obey God who may sometimes require you to give more than 10% of something or even more than half of what you earn or have. |

See how much people want 'money by mistake'. If you accidentally sent recharge card to another person, will you rejoice if the person does not revert? Do to others what you want them to do to you |
It is clear here that people mainly pay tithe to guarantee financial freedom more like trade and barter with God. Even if you pay tithe, it must be to honour God and not to corner favours from Him or to bribe God. As you pay tithe make sure you live a holy life. Don't use tithe as a defense for fornication, lies, adultery, jealousy and all sin. God will never reward a sinner! |
@ mko, pls when did Jesus collect tithe in Genesis? This notion is pure heresy and blasphemy. Jesus was in the world physically from Matthew to John. Please do not twist the bible! |
[quote author=Jettage]I am sure you would like to listen to the Message of Gbile Akanni he never mentioned any names of any Pastor Y then did u mention MFN when Gbile didn't mention any body? |
tpacalipse: But that attack dog will soon show up here. He might not though.Don't mind the attack hyenas that feed off the blood of the innocent. Tommorow, they will quote NOI polls |
@ NGWAKWE, are you trying to say GEJ earned nothing between 2007 & 2011? If he earned nothing new, why didn't he redeclare what he declared in 2007? At least, we will all know he is transparent. Sycophancy kills, be objective! |
I thought Femi Otedola has a case to answer with AMCOM over unpaid debts Or is he fronting for somebody? ![]() BTW @op your title is misleading, Femi did not purchase PHCN but one of the power distribution companies. |
Home Live up to your responsibilities —Facebook friends to Jonathan OCTOBER 2, 2013 BY TEMITAYO FAMUTIMI 1 Comment It was a season of lamentation for many Facebook friends of President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday, as they flocked to his Facebook page to register their displeasure with the state of the nation. While observing that there was little to celebrate about the 53rd Independence Day, they urged him to live up to his responsibility and deliver on the yearnings of the citizenry. The Nigerians who were commenting on the President’s Independence Day message, which he posted on his Facebook page, said they were tired of his continued rethorics of a better Nigeria. In the comments they dropped on his Facebook page, they particularly asked Jonathan not to think about the next election but the next generation, by providing solutions to the problems in education sector and the rate of unemployment as well as the worsening state of insecurity in the country. One of the President’s friends, Igweoha Chima, laments that as Nigeria clocks 53, “his face is not wearing a happy look;” adding that he is “so much interested in knowing the achievements of Nigerian leaders for the past 53 years.” University students used the occasion to demand an end to the three-month old strike embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities. A particular friend of the President, Moses Ohiomokhare, while urging him end the lingering crisis, says as a former university teacher, he expects Jonathan to know where the “shoe pinches.” Ohiomokhare says, “We have noted the points made in your speech and look forward to their implementation. We wish you well. But Mr. President, we are still troubled that ASUU strike is still unresolved. “We all do not need to remind you that you were a lecturer and know where the shoe pinches. We request that you move the matter to your desk and see it resolved. Your subordinates find it difficult to handle it. The buck stops on your desk, sir.” A student, Victor Chinomso, laments, “Goodluck Jonathan, all what you just said here (Facebook) translates to nothing to me. Who are you deceiving when the Nigerian students, the future leaders, are on strike? Mr. President, you promised us good education and fresh air. Mr. President, what we are experiencing is bad air. “Mr. President, I remember how I stood in the sun and went through stress just to cast my vote for you during the 2011 presidential election and all you could do is to pay us back with strike. But Mr. President, there is nothing to celebrate. I am only thanking God for the gift of life.” Another Facebook friend, Yahaya Musa, observes that the state of insecurity bothers him a lot. He argues that the state of insecurity had never deteriorated in the country like it has in recent times. He, therefore, asks the President to take “drastic actions” beyond the ritual of delivering speeches and make the nation safe for everyone. Musa notes, “Well done, Mr. President. However, you need to take drastic actions beyond the speech. Truly, sir, we are suffering for nothing in this country; it’s only by faith that we get back to our houses when we come out. There is no guarantee for the next hour or day. “Security situation has never deteriorated like now: innocent people being killed without any cause. Rural populace cannot boast of the next meal and we are living in a country that is ranked eighth in terms of fuel exportation. Mr. President Sir, re-strategise your plans and policies. Sir, if you can tackle these problems, even within the shortest time possible, 2015 will decide for itself.” Artisans and businessmen befriending Jonathan on the social network lament that the menace of epileptic power supply is frustrating and call for a speedy implementation of the power sector reform. One Adegeye Ade says the President has failed the nation as he has yet to fulfill his promises on set targets of electricity generating capacity. “If his (Jonathan’s) business has packed up because of epileptic supply of electricity, may be he would have known that he has not only failed Nigerians, he has equally failed God,” Ade says. Meanwhile, a cross section of the President’s followers say they are happy with him for listening to their clamour for the convocation of a Sovereign National Conference, with the setting-up of an “advisory committee whose mandate is to establish the modalities for a national dialogue or conference.” “Congratulations, Mr. President, for taking the first step in the convocation of a sovereign national conference. We believe it will help us live better as a nation. God bless you and God bless Nigeria,” one Emmanuel Sampson-Jaja observes. http://www.punchng.com/i-punch/live-up-to-your-responsibility-facebook-friends-to-jonathan/ |
Why is this not in front page? Knowledge is power |
Since this story is from Sincere Nigerian, I refuse to comment. Let him first adress the misdemeanor of his Oga at the top before criticizing others. |
What about the Amstel malt 'ever young' advert, abi na 'Air wick' air freshener wet no dey smell anything, abi na all those Mimi anti bacterial soaps that are harsh and can damage the skin more than the bacteria they claim to remove? Don't even talk about the Nollywood adverts, na vex u go use dump the film if u dare 'grab your copy' Most na wash |
Where are manny, one naira and co? Pls come and tell me that the two posters above me are lying! SYCOPHANTS! |
oge101: I find it hard to believe that people are blinded by their selfish interest. How can people after reading this post still insist that he is the best candidate so far. At least think it over, analyze the issue. Its so disappointing that some people do not even read it but just post and say Nigige all the way. What proof do you have to back your claims? How do I know that this story of yours is not fabricated? Don't you think that Ngige's precedents spoke and still speaks for him in Anambra state? (he brought real developments to Anambra in his short tenure). Hinging his crime on abortion is highly sentimental. People commit abortion every day even though it is against the law. Is there even a politician who is a saint? People usually settle for the lesser evil. |
