This is one of the reasons why madam Oby Ezekwisili referred to nairaland has a dumping ground.

The present crop of news agencies' reporters and editors are only out to get their paychecks with sensational news headlines that misrepresents the contents therein.

There is also the problem of fake reporting as we remember the reporter that published a fake interview with the chairman of the anti-corruption committee that later claimed someone impersonated the chairman. The recent series of apologies by news agencies to madam Ezekwisili is also still very fresh.

I think it is high time the Guild of Editors started looking at how to tackle this unethical practice that is becoming a norm.

The constitution allows me (or anyone) the right free speech. This means I am free to say whatever I wish including insulting anyone, their tribe or family. If you have ever heard that anyone has been charged to court for "insult" during a democratic dispensation in the history of Nigeria then give me the example. As for inciting someone to violence, it cannot be done by word of mouth only. In other to incite someone to violence, actions have to be taken such arming the person, giving them clear instructions on who to target, aiding and abetting etc. Do you know how many times a day Nigerians say that some past leaders should be slaughtered for destroying the country? Even here on NL. Why do you think no one has ever been arrested for calling for the death of another? Because it falls under their right of free speech which they are yet to translate to action. A crime cannot be commited by talking, it is only commited by actions.

The bad relationship is created by the "British business venture" called Nigeria. When everyone has the independence and sovereignty (which was stolen by Lugard in 1914) restored, there will nothing more to fight each other for, then we can be good friends

Surely you have the right to freedom of speech, but when you begin to infringe on another's right to peace when excercising your right, then that constitutes breach of peace which is crominal.
The constitution is there for you to apply as a whole not as extracts. You look at the interdependencies of the sections and how it can be applied to actions.

How do you intend to build damaged relationships when Biafra becomes a reality?

Stop d hate campaign and focus on diplomatic negotiation. Also start putting structures in place to appoint credible leaders that will lead your new country to success. that is my advise or you will end up focusing on achieving a country without knowing what to do with it like many new nations have done.

Chapter 4 of the Nigerian contitution allows us all freedom of "speech and expression". Scheduled 38 of that same Chapter allows everyone "freedom of thought and conscience". The law allows anyone not only to freely talk about Biafra, but also to believe in it. So anytime you actually advocate that pro Biafrans should be banned or arrested, not only are you breaking the law, you are also contravening the constitution which leaves you liable to be sued for denying a person certain rights the constitution allows him or her to enjoy.

If you don't know what treason is, go and find a dictionary.

The constituion does not provide you with right to break the law.
You break the law when you insight violence by insulting other tribes and their heritage whilst in pursuit of your biafra.

You can actually achieve biafra and maintain a cordial bi-lateral relationsip with your immediate neigbhors (Afonjas and Arewas) afterall, regional, environmental and economic challenges will continue to be shared, hence, the creation of ECOWAS, AU and UN which are agencies for multi-lateral interaction.

You can continue to create enemies for the yet to be born Biafrans if you think you do not regional support for a successful Biafra.

A boisterous former actor and television talk show host, Dornan had a flair for the dramatic that drew him supporters and detractors well beyond his congressional districts. Op don't sweat explaining yourself. The truth is that the Afonjarudeens know this even more than you do. They know that even without oil, present day SE and SS have know themselves for centuries.
It shatters their hearts that SS have refused to hate Igbo and embraced their muslim oshogbo oblong coneheads. They feeling like dying when Emeka and Kevwe from Delta embraces Ifeanyi from Imo.
See their divisive yorubamudeen skull. Concentrate your view on the gallop dividing the Anencepahlic Afonja skull therein. grin
cockoduck:
'I. have noticed some miscommunication and misperceptions about what the Biafra movement is about. Here are 9 key facts about the NEW BIAFRA that everyone should know. (1) Biafran agitation has nothing to do with hydrocarbon crude oil deposits in Niger Delta. Imo, Abia, Anambra are currently oil producing states in Nigeria, with huge natural gas reserves not forgetting the enormous untapped coal deposits in Enugu. (2) Biafra is not land-locked. It has numerous access to the sea, including through the River Niger. (3) Biafra entire population is about 35 million people which is greater than the population many advanced countries in Western Europe, including Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Austria….etc (4) Biafra does not or in any form signify war, violence, armed struggle or any sort of physical confrontation. BIAFRA IS NOT WAR! It simply means political, economic and socio- cultural freedom from a feudalist State ruled by terrorists and Jihadists. (5) Biafra is not a call for massive exodus to Igbo land. Put differently, every Igbo or Biafran must not live in Biafra land. Those who wish could still maintain their residency wherever they are as well as own properties anywhere in the world, including Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Abeokuta… etc. (6) Independent and sovereign Biafra will never translate to loss or forfeiture of landed properties of her citizens in Lagos, Abuja or anywhere in Nigeria. There are many domestic and international treaties, conventions and laws that protects Assets of non-citizens everywhere in the World, that will apply appropriately. (7) The NEW BIAFRA shall be a coalition of desirous and willing ethnic nationalities in defunct Eastern Nigeria and would never be a forceful annexation of any unwilling ethnic nationality within its current geo-political definition. Ijaws, Ogonis, Ibibio, Anangs, Efiks, Ogojas, and host of other ethnic minorities shall possess the privilege to decide whether to tango politically with their Igbo brethren or go their own separate ways or remain part of current structural deficient Nigeria. (cool Biafra is a train of peace and liberty. A desire for liberation from institutionalised stumbling blocks like quota system and federal character principles in Nigeria’s quasi- unitary society. It is a movement against internal colonialism, tribal gang-ups, economic marginalisation and political subjugation of Igbo and ethnic minority neighbours. (9) It has nothing to do with hate, bigotry or ethnic chauvinism. Just a desire to live in a healthy society where your tribe, tongue, religion or creed does not define who you are or how far you would go in your career.'

You guys will only be taken serious when you learn diplomacy and tact.

Op was preaching a peaceful biafra but could not refrain from calling other people terrorists and Jihadist.

@ShootToKill, how many bridges do you intend to burn before biafra. Always know that you will need interaction with your neighbours when your biafra becomes reality and the way Ipob was going about it would have created a lot of enemies for the unborn. You need to calm down and redirect your anger to the right channel.

It is quite surprising that boko haram that do not give a damn about humanity is now an advocate of preservation of life.

The coincidence in the release of this video coming out at a time when the Nigerian Air-force is preparing for airstrikes on the militants in the south south only points to one thing, That the same enemies of states are behind both groups. The intention for this release is to set precedence for a case of extra judicial killing against the Military, So that when they airstrikes begins, they can start a campaign that innocent residents in the south south creeks were also being killed along with the militants thereby thwarting the campaign against terrorism that we are all facing.

We must be wise about this and see beyond our noses.

Peace loving Nairalanders should be wary of these Igbos as Nigeria has committed to extinguishing all enemies of states in all fronts.

-A Typical Ipob has multiple monikers

-They are always OP and FTC on their post using their multiple monikers

-They lack morals and respect, they are quick to curse anyone with discerning views, even elders from their region are cursed by this miscreants

-Any good news from Nigeria gives them heart-ache

-They prefer using panadol extra for SW’s headache whilst they have their own migraine to deal with, You will see topics like :-
"FG Committing Another Genocide In South West Land."
"Hope Military Not Killing Yorubas Calling Them Militants"

-They are the grand mumus of this world, who would pay 10k Nigerian Naira to purchase a Biafran Passport, and Not Biafran Pounds. Oops!!! I don’t think that money exist neither cheesy

-Ipob and Fake things are like 5 &6, Fake news, fake English, Fake unrecognized passport

-They have never gone past the boundaries of their imaginary Biafra land to appreciate peaceful multi-ethnic settling like Lagos, Abuja and so on

-They are intellectually deficient and incapable of constructing and understanding logical arguments

Note: These are attributes of Ipob and not Igbos

Thewrath:
Firstly,as usual,I am responsible for how I write and not how you understand or interpret.

Why are there no pics yet?
We all know the Nigerian army and pictures are like bread and butter, they have pictures of killed boko haram terrorists, the Shiite Muslims killed during during protest and more.so why are there no pictures yet of the 114 and over another 100 militants killed during the air strikes?

There is only one possible reason I can think of why there are no pictures yet:
-it's obvious(in Emmanuella's voice)that Nigeria army have as usual gone to kill/displace innocent yorubas and other inhabitants of these communities, and are ashamed to upload pics.i know civilians always get caught in crossfires, but in a professional operation, the damage on innocent civilians are minimal, maybe a few deaths but certainly not the majority.but I can't say thesame for our NA.

Misconceptions of yoruba youths:
I actually do not support the activities of the militants, but I read online how these set of people boast/beat their chest about how they will deal with the militants, maybe because there is a mere commissioner assisting buhari or that a yoruba general ordered the air strikes or that they voted for change....make no mistake, buhari will not bait an eyelid to turn Lagos into a war zone as long as oil is involved, not even even osibanjo,or your obas can or will be able to do anything about it.my advice is pray and hope the militants give up,stop beating your chest, your people are dying.

The position of the igbos
This particular is just funny,I don't know about the opinion if my brothers in SE,but I will attempt speak for myself and others in SS.
Firstly:
-Whose land is the battlefield-yoruba's
-Whose land is being polluted-yoruba's
-Whose people are being killed/displaced-yorubas.
-Who is going to suffer military presence/intimidation-yorubas.
-Whose economic activities will be crumbled-yorubas.
-Who would be used as target practice-yorubas.
are the militants igbos-No
are the helicopters,guns,pipelines,igbos?-No
And many many more....

So why in the midst of crisis in your own land, you still find a way to drag the igbos in,they have absolutely nothing to loose...it's a win-win for the igbos, the average Igboman does not give a hoot what happens outside igboland,he may still not care even if it happens in igboland but doesn't affect his business.
so why will the igbos be pained/worried that you are fighting militancy when they have a much bigger problem to deal with.

When you guyz were rejoicing during the killing of unarmed biafra protesters,I bet you did not know a day like this will come when your supposed peaceful land will be turned into a war zone.well you shouldn't be surprised when others return the favour.
I advice you focus on getting rid of these militants and leave the igbos out of your miseries.

Is that why ipob is causing havoc in the ND knowing that the battlefield, those to be killed, land being polluted, military presence and so on will be in ND?

Operation crocodile smile is loading................Kaboom!!!

I guess these so called innocent people are collateral damages for improved security and protection of lives, individual properties and national assets like the pregnant lady killed last year by stray bullet from these "innocent people"
