Nice revelation up there, bro.

I am wondering, is the required BA amount fixed?
Just in case, someone did a miscalculation and funded more than necessary, can the whole sum be transferred to the BA account? Then, possibly, the BA bank in Germany would disburse the monthly breakdown (which will be higher in this case) to the person.
From what I have been reading, its seems you can withdraw your excess euro from Nigerian banks. So, i guess I have been dealing with a wrong bank then.

However, if you send more than the needed amount to your German BA, they will send the excess back to you with your first withdrawal in Germany (I think the first month).

All the money apart from the charges are yours, you will definitely get it back.

Cheers!

My friend cancelled his June 12 date due to no admission yet, now you too.
Just June 12 alone, 2 slot cancelled and probably wasted.
We are doing ourselves and blaming embassy, until d start new system of booking like paying visa fees prior booking, this would keep reoccurring.
D thought it was only Cat B people that don't honor their Appointment.
As I write now, some are on verge of cancelling theirs too while many patient ones no come get date over 3 weeks of getting Admission.
Rat race, if you ask me and is all our fault, not embassy.
Bruh!
Same thing I keep wondering. The embassy changed the former system to make it easy for us to get dates, now many of us are abusing it.
So many cancellations have happened between April and July. Now everybody is clogged between August and October.
Very soon, the embassy will only be taking people with Scholarships serious since it seems many people who booked cat A did so without admission and now have cancelled.

Please, don't let us spoil things for ourselves.
If you don't have admission yet, its better to wait till you do, or once the school gets in touch with you that you stand a chance, then you can book.

I hope we will adhere to instructions.

Cheers!

You withdrew foreign currency?
From which bank please?

I need to know if both banks I am using have been scamming me.

Bamstar007:
Yeah right. it’s good to put like 9k and when the transaction has been done, you can withdraw the balance
No Nigerian bank will allow you withdraw foreign currency.

You can only deposit and transfer, You can never withdraw.

So just do all the calculations well before you deposit the funds.

Also, some banks allow you transfer all the amount in the Dom account and even take the transfer charges from a Naira account. Standard Chattered allows this.

For other banks, just deposit and know how much you can let go.

Cheers!

Wow.. so bro, are you saying everyone here who got admitted used their original for enrollment and not the student copy?
means I have to find a way to extract that my transcript from exams and records for use during the entire process. problem is my school (FUNAAB) don't hand transcripts directly to students.
Hello,

I am not 100% certain everyone here needs the original for enrollment. I dont speak for everyone.

Some schools ask you to come with the originals for enrollment, some schools ask you to send certified copies.

Some schools don't ever ask again since you have certified and sent during application.

So, different strokes for each school.

However, I STRONGLY advise you process all your documents while you are still in Nigeria, we all know how stressful it is to get documents years later especially when you wont be personally available to do the running around.

good day my people, pls I applied for admission in one German university and I was ask to pay 20euro for my admission process, pls how do I pay I'm in Nigeria. pls someone help me with the process
Search for anyone over there to pay for you while you pay the person the Naira equivalent.

It's always better if you mention the school so people can directly help or offer solution.

Hello I used the student copy to apply and got admission. When I want to enroll will I need to use the student copy or I will need the original ?
You definitely need original copies for enrollment.

Now that you have admission. Process your original copy.

Hello everyone,am a silent reader but i decided to come out to be more active and receive guidance on the procedures of obtaining German Admission etc.

I am motivated by all these testimonies and teeming youths seeking to better themselves. My very first question please; Can my husband take my certificates to German Embassy and sign/certify on my behalf.Am kind of very busy at work.Kindly respond to my question house.thanks.
You need to go to the embassy your self!

Please Good people, how do i get my transcript from my school.i checked on the website and deduced that they can only send to professional and academic bodies.Do i have to keep applying for transcript directly to as many schools that i apply to.Please ho do i get a personal copy that i can make pbotocopies of and get them certified to enable me start applying. Please help a humble sister.

Kindly attend to my question.Thanks.
I advise you request for the original copy.

Address it to a school or an organization (professional bodies e.g. ICAN, NSE, etc) where you know someone.

Then you can pink it up and make copies, certify the copies and then you can be sending to various schools.

Reason, I am advising you to request for the original copy is because after the admission period (which the student copies might get you past), you will still need your transcript for a lot of things in life. So, use on bird to kill it all now.

You can also state the name of the school here, definitely somebody can give you a personalized help.

Cheers!

Dear All,

If you want to fund your blocked account, Please ALWAYS take the Abokis to the bank IF they insist on giving you cash.
There are many monies that the bank reject that you wont know o.
Ordinary small tear, the bankers reject it o and you won't know which they would reject.

So, take them to the bank, let them hand over the money to the cashier themselves, let the cashier confirm all the notes and then you are safe.

I did mine to day at the rate of N407 to 1 Euro.

I used my Zenith account and I was charged a total of 95 Euros to transfer 5750 Euros.

I had already sent part of some weeks back and I am using Coracle.

Cheers!

Hello Guys, quick question

Is it advisable to go to the Embassy without funding your account first?

I have opened a Fintiba Account but yet to fund it?

Please what are the consequences?
There are no consequences for not going to interview without Block account.
Just go with your fintiba account opening confirmation.
Many people have gone to do interview without funding and some even got AM without funding.

However, dont let it take long before you send them your funding confirmation.

Cheers!

Greetings everyone, please I have a question especially directed to our gurus in DE, much appreciations to you all.

So, I'll be arriving DE in a few days time by God's grace, but I'm coming on a short stay internship program. I already applied to schools and I'm awaiting AL, and I'm wondering if an AL drops while I'm in DE already, will I have to leave and then reapply for student Visa? Or can I just kind of change or elongate my status? Also will I need the blocked account for 1 year, I have one for the duration of my stay already. A lot of questions are in my head, please help.
Thanks again.
Hello, you cannot convert another type of Visa to the Student Visa.
You need to go back to your country to apply for a student visa.
Also, you need to fulfill all requirements to get a student visa so you still need to present a blocked account or sponsorship letter or scholarship.

The only thing I can advise you do now is to open a Deutsche bank since you will already be in Germany.
Although, you need to present an application for admission or an admission letter.

Cheers!

I have sold the insurance to over 50 people and they are all studying in Germany now. It is the insurance they submitted to the embassy when they get their AM. I believe some of them are here.

I am not here to advertise the product but to learn and wait gegely for my AD here
What you are selling to people is TRAVEL INSURANCE not HEALTH INSURANCE.

Once again, don't confuse people. It would be nice for you to also know what you are selling and what it is used for.

Travel INSURANCE: Only used for the period of travel and not the residency period. usually, this would last you for the period of registration with the local office in Germany

HEALTH INSURANCE: This is the main insurance that covers you for the entire period of your stay in Germany. usually a minimum of 18 months. Only Certified German agencies can sell this to you.
You buy a compulsory public health insurance if you are below 30 years of age.
You buy a private health insurance if you are 30 and above.

Cheers!

bros have you tried this before in Germany or you are just saying it so people can buy your product ?
Please what I know for AXA and the rest of her insurance in Nigeria is for travelling except you are giving us information and am sure I won't want to try that anyway
Exactly what I am saying.

German law states that ONLY German health insurance purchased in Germany is allowed.

He should not confuse people with travel insurance.

Cheers!

I sell AXA student health insurance. It is cheap and you will get your certificate instantly.

Send me a PM if you need one.
You mean your health insurance from Nigeria?

Please correct me if I am wrong, any health insurance outside Germany CANNOT work in Germany.
What you can purchase is TRAVEL INSURANCE not HEALTH INSURANCE.

I hope we do not mix things up.

Man, you guys REALLY REALLY need to chill with attacking people about sharing their experiences.

I personally have met a number of people who didn't ever know of Nairaland and were able to process everything from their admission to visa application not ever needing to come on here.

I didn't even know Nairaland existed till I was done with my applications, booked for interview, and was given an interview date. I found this page because I was looking for Nigerian students in TUM. Before that time I didn't even know what Nairaland was or that it existed. What I've learned so far I share out of the goodness of my heart and not under some obligation to share my experience, and NO ONE should be under such obligation.

Even if they don't comment here, they more than likely will help someone physcially with their experiences, which would be out of your purview seeing as this is a faceless online forum. The truth is the number of people who share their experiences will ALWAYS outweigh those who don't.

This forum should be run like a democracy where everyone is free to do what works for them, and not like a frigging dictatorship where if you don't follow the majority, they come for you.

It really isn't cool, and might I add very intimidating!
God bless you for this!

I really appreciate your prompt response.
Do I have to forward all my documents to the school while applying? Including the IELTS result?
I have just told you to read whatever the school requires.

Whatever the school application requires, you have to send ALL, if you dont send all, you would not be eligible.

If the school requires IELTS, you have to send it.

Hello Eldeee,
I’m new here and so far so good you’ve been of help. You and Socutee. Thanks.
I have a lot of questions...
I just heard about the no tuition German institutions and I already checked for schools and courses I could put in for, my questions are?do i register to the schools having read about their requirements? After registration, do I wait for an admission letter before sending my results to uni assist? In short; help me with the process flow please. thanks
Hello and welcome.
You would do very well if you can take time to read very well through this thread. Start from page 1. A lot of vital information are embedded in most of the pages.
However, I will try to list the steps as best as I can.
1- Visit www.daad.de Here, you can check for courses and filter based on your choice. You can also use Google search.
Once you get the courses and schools. Make your personalized list and you can mail the schools to ask further questions AND dont forget to check each program's FAQ. Many answeres are usually there.
2- Each school have different requirements. Some require you go through Uniassist.
Uniassist is like a middle man organisation between students and the schools. You submit your documents to them (via email and post). They process it within 4 - 6 weeks. If you meet the school criteria, then they forward your application to the school for consideration.
You can apply to as many schools as possible to increase your chances.
Usually, your first application on Uniassist is €75 and any other ones cost €30 each. You only need to send your documents by post ONCE to uniassist.
3- Some schools require you apply directly to them. Some ONLY by mail, some only by POST and some you apply by mail, print out the application form and send by POST.
The school's website will let you know which process they use.
4- Many times, you need language proficiency document. A document to show that you have competent English language proficiency.
Some schools mandate you to have IELTS or TOEFL, while some schools will ask you to submit a document showing that your previous studies were done IN English.
You can get such document from your previous schools.
Some schools also waive this requirements for Nigerians.
So, you need to read each school's requirements very well.
From experience, having IELTS/TOEFL always increases your chances.
5- After applying to the schools, you wait for AL (admission letter). When you get AL, then you apply for Visa interview date using CATEGORY A or B.
6- Once you get a Visa date, then you can do your BA (blocked account) or SL (sponsorship letter).
You need to read up on BA and SL if you dont have any knowledge already.
7- After your Visa interview, you wait for 4weeks or more for your AM (approval mail). This mail is the approval that your Visa has been granted and you should come with your passport for stamping. After stamping, you find your way in Germany.

I hope this puts some light to your path.

Cheers!
