We shall all be alright. Finally! They just wasted time and efforts of people. Thanks for the update. |

Coitus: Well I'm going to call the Consulate on Monday and i urge others to do the same. Please those in Lagos should endeavour to visit the Consulate on Monday for clarification.
I remember it got to a point last year when we started seeing no more available dates on their website.
From what I've read, people that booked B on 7th are yet to get dates, so when will people that will book on the 30th get dates because we are many (thanks to US embassy).
Please let's all work together on this. If you have info, don't hoard it, share it. Thank you. Please, those going to the embassy on Monday should help us clarify things. |

Baabu320: okay i will try... Please, not a matter of try o. A lot of people are hanging on this. Once you go in and drop your documents, before coming out please ask, If you cannot, ask the people that will be doing visa interview to ask and then when they come one you can get information. Do you know the information we want to get? |

This category A and B thing has cause a lot of problems and unrest.
Does anyone know anyone going for interview this week? We can beg the person to simply ask a VO this question. Hearing from a VO would be the right way to go. It would not be nice for people to be sent back because they booked wrong categories in july or august.
In my own opinion, Category A was made to separate people who it is sure that they would be traveling; people with Scholarships, German language certificates etc. Because those set of people have invested in the journey. Category B people (which I fall in) only have admissions and can later say they want to cancel because of BA or SL not forthcoming. Reason they said they would reset the list later.
Having the "scholarship" option to click is not just there as a joke or "glitch", this is a German embassy website and would have been tested before deployment
Only thing to clear this for us, is if someone can ask a Visa Officer this week.
So, do you know anyone going for interview this week? |

Emexnairaland: Greetings... My AL just dropped, but i had already booked my visa appointment earlier today stating September as my beginning of study visit (which is really correct for introductory periods for international students) but the actual date for lecture start is October and same October is written in my AL as the term start date. Should i cancel and re-book using October written on the AL or i should stick on Septemeber. Since your letter stated OCTOBER, better you reschedule and state the correct date. |

lilfreezy: I see the point you are making. Paying from Nigeria sometimes can be very frustrating, there are hidden charges here and there. The best way to go about this is to get someone already in de to pay for you so you can transfer the naira to there naira account. A lot of people have been helping with such payments both on nairaland and several WhatsApp groups. I have applied both times through someone in Germany and i got the transfer document for both times, i think their process is just cumbersome ni. |

I uploaded my school syllabus / course content during the application. My 50 Euros is gone like that Bros, I also got the same rejection letter. Second time I am applying for that course. They just ate our 50 euros, mine 100 euros. Anyways, I had forgotten about them though since I now have TUHH and Southwestphalia admission. I am only waiting for Koln so I can decide where I would be going. I think Kasierslautern really want people with Automation bachelors which is hard to find here in Nigeria. |

campichristian: Your first name is your name asin birth name(First name given to you after birth), while your last name is your surname(grandfathers name or family name). Ain’t no middle name required so yes you’ll have to cancel and register again ... i stand to be corrected You can cancel and re-book. What I did was to put both my first name and middle name in the "first name " column. And my surname in the surname column. This way, the name on the application form appears the same way my name is on my passport. Shikenah! |

You have done extremely well by sending them a mail again and deferring your admission. I would suggest you go there again in person. If they see that you have come again to disturb, they would look into it. I don't know why we have to go through stress for everything in this country. Cheers. RomeoSierra: Hello guys,
I need your candid advise on the next action to take concerning the scenario I'm about to narrate, I know it's a long read but I'll really appreciate your contributions. I'll try to keep it concise as much as possible.
I attended my student visa interview on the 6th of Dec. 2018 when my school was to resume in April 2019. The visa process normally takes 4-6 weeks as shown on the German website. On the 5th week after my interview I sent an email to inquire about the visa status and I got this response "Dear Sir, as your studies start in April, your visa could not yet be processed. You were an early bird considering your application. So we will process the application accordingly so that you can start your studies".
I waited till March before sending another inquiry email and there was no response from the embassy. I sent several emails afterwards and no reply, I called and I was told to send an email as no visa status information could be provided over the phone.
Mid-March I then called the Foreigner's office in the city of Kaiserslautern as my school is in Kaiserslautern and I was told that my documents have been processed and returned to my home country.
March ending I visited the consulate in person to inquire at the reception the cause of the delay but I was told to go and send an email, I explained everything to them and they said I should go and explain in the email, I told them I already did that and all they said was "be patient".
Last day of enrollment was March 31st (extended till April 10) beginning of classes was on 15th of April. I called the school to update them of the situation and help me contact the consulate but they said they don't have any influence with visa issues in Nigeria and what they can do is to defer my admission if I'm unable to meet with the deadline.
2weeks to beginning of studies i called the embassy again and explained the situation. I was told to hold for some minutes and when the person got back she told me "they said they are still working on it!"
3 days to beginning of studies, I defered my admission and got a new admission letter for winter semester in August.
April 16th I sent this email to the consulate "
Dear Sir/ Madam, Good day, Owing to the delay in my student visa application, I am unable to resume my classes that commenced yesterday 15th April 2019. Hence, I have deferred my admission at the university, because I cannot join the classes at a later date. However, I have been granted a new date of resumption by the university which is the 21st August 2019, that should give adequate time for the completion of my visa application process. My interview date was on the 6th of December 2018. I have attached a copy of my new admission letter in this email. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you."
That was my last contact with the embassy, they never acknowledged receipt of the email or the new admission letter.
Now what do I do as I am confused "note they have all my original certificates with them at the embassy" and it's been over 5 months. |

Chrisomila: Please house i want to apply for a course that will expire may 31 but though through uni assist. My question is since uni assist need 3-4 weeks for vpd will i be able to meet up? Uniassist has a different deadline with the schools. But, if you haven't sent your document to uniassist before, I think you won't be able to meet up that deadline. If you have a document with them already, then you can. |

Good evening all, I just want to give some motivation to the new applicants and new people joining this thread. If you ever wish to study in Germany, believe me this is where to be. The information on this thread's pages is so enormous and filled than any agent you will meet on the streets. Experiences here are real and people are always ready to help, Kudos to you all.
I would advise that you do some investments if you really want this admissions, at first when I joined also, I felt it would be a stroll in the park, but after many rejections last year, I had to get really serious. 1- Read this thread like a bible, make notes. Open an excel sheet or a jotter and put major points there. 2- Research the schools by your self. Information is key and only you know what you want. See my excel sheet below and see the list of schools I researched. [img][/img] 3- The make a shortlist based on what you really want, check their requirement and please, go get a language certificate. I advise you do IELTS, in my opinion, you get better results than TOEFL. That alone increases your chances very very much. 4- Spend some money and try not to avoid Uni-assist. This would increase your chances also because you would have so many courses to apply to. 5- Relate with people, your admission could just be one information you are missing. In my case, I was using my normal work CV until Someone here @Teejay advised I use the Euro format. I felt because I was getting a lot of interviews from Europe with my resume, it would apply to the education sector. They are different sectors. 6- Also note that the course you wish to study is totally different from the course you have the knowledge to study. Sometimes we wish to study course A, while our transcripts is showing the school we are qualified to study course B. So you need to also check deeply, I got like 6 rejections last summer. This year, I have applied to like 10 schools, 1 admission dropped this week. Still expecting more. 7- So, Do you research, relate with people and be humble.
We will all make it. Cheers

Yeside20: I believe it should be A.
All applicants who fulfill one of the following criteria can register with the “A - list”:
1. holding a TestAS certificate with a standard score of 100 - 130 2. holding a very good B-1 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (90 points and more) or 3. holding a good B-2 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (80 points or more) or 4. holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany or 5. holding a scholarship from a German institution for a study or a PhD in Germany or 6. holding a signed “Aufnahmevereinbarung” / hosting agreement concerning your research fellowship with a university or research institute accepted by the “BAMF”
You only have to fulfill one of these requirements and No. 4 applies Sincerely its confusing. Everyone believes its A but the form requires you to click on "Scholarship". I believe they had issues translating the page into English and will only correct it after series of mails. I have just mailed them through the contact form to clarify where we belong and simultaneously I have applied through the B category pending when I would get their response. |
