please doctor said my baby is big and has big head too(macrocephaly). anyone with an idea of what i can eat or take to reduce the fetus weight before delievry?(my pelvic is small).

Same thing with me teamie. when i went antenatal last two weeks, my pcv was 31, doctor recommended ferobin capsule for me. this week, it has risen to 35. so i suggest you try it or you double your dose of fesolate(those red routine drugs). Then if you can stomach garden egg leaves, eat it raw. let most of your meals be vegetable soup. Eat unriped plantain too. Within a week, u will see improvement.

OK, so first of all I want to thank all mama's for the warm messages and likes.

secondly to all mama's that have dropped I congratulate you with a standing ovation and to those that are still waddling, God will make it easy for you, amen.

lastly to as many who are still expecting a miracle, don't give up and don't forget that the closest time to morning is usually the darkest...your morning will surely come.

so my pregnancy journey started after months of waiting on the lord, after different google search, after several calls from family and friends expecting to hear some good news.

finally it came to pass that on this fateful day I notice that my period was late and there was no usual sign that precedes it. I was worried so I quickly ordered a pregnancy test online.

when I got home that evening, I didn't waste 1 second before conducting the test and it came out positive. I didn't believe it was real so I read the instructions again and did a second test and it came out positive again. at that point I couldn't hold back tears from flowing freely from my eyes; just that this time around they were tears of joy.

the journey started asap with severe morning sickness that lasted 16-17 weeks. how I survived going to work with m.s, only the angels can tell.

this phase however was quickly forgotten with the coming of the second trimester. I was so energetic but I also noticed that I became easily irritated, clumsy, easily angered etc it was in this phase that I almost lost the baby twice but God helped me.

then the third trimester came and fear soaked all the energy I had acquired in the second trimester. I started developing negative thoughts about childbirth but stories from mama's here gave me courage.

gradually the appointed time came and passed and my fears doubled. I didn't want to be induced as I heard it was extremely painful but as a ftm I didn't know how else to bring on labour faster.

contractions started coming from Friday then increased on Saturday and by Monday it was stronger but still irregular. I decided to go to the hospital anyway to be on a safer side.

on reaching the doctors office, he took me to the examination room and asked to lay on the bed. on inserting his finger I screamed with pain. he told me to be calm as that is where baby will come out from. he also told me I was still at 1 cm though effacement was at 60% and admitted immediately for inducement.

after a while the nurse came and mixed soap with something and pumped into my anus. after 10 mins I couldn't hold again so I ran to the toilet and emptied my entire bowel.

contractions were getting stronger and closer now. after some hours in the evening, the doctor on duty came and checked me. effacement was 100% but dilation was 3%. mama's, I will not lie to you. the process of checking is 100% painful.

he asked the nurse to insert a drug into me and do a membrane sweep. chai!! I saw hell.... after that I returned to the ward. all this while the nurses never believed I was going through pain because I wasn't dramatic about it as Mumsy had told me to endure any pain that comes my way.

by 11 pm, I understood the true definition of hellfire....contractions came like fire. even google cannot define this pain. with every contraction I would scream and call the blood of Jesus. I couldn't sit, I couldn't stand, couldn't walk.... I was helpless and had an empty stomach yet the contractions didn't give me a break.

by 12am i was no longer on earth. I started begging my husband, the nurses to book me for c.s immediately. I told them I couldn't bear it anymore. my husband said no and I hated him for that. the nurses tried to encourage me to hold on as c.s is more painful and takes longer to recover. I said they will not understand, I cannot bear the pain anymore.

by 12:30 I jumped down from the bed as the strongest of all contractions hit me. as blood and water started dropping, my husband ran to look for the nurses. I was rushed into the delivery room. they didn't need to check me as the baby's head was clearly visible.

use pillow to put inbetween your legs while sleeping. Then fold a wrapper to support your stomach too. That is what helps me a bit. By bump is so big too. people just they ask me say i never born. would be clocking 32weeks by weekend.
It will all end in praise my dear. Endure!

Good evening mamas, please what can make a late scan be reading a different(backward) gestational age and a later EDD when compared to the initial EDD? I did a scan at 35wks6days GA according to LMP but scan showed baby at 34wks1day with weight of 2.32kg and moved my EDD forward. Does it mean the baby is quite small for his age?

yes, scan gives EDD according to the weight of their fetus. i think your baby is measuring smaller than the gestational age. but never the less, the gap is not much. It won't stop the baby from coming at the right EDD. You won't have problem pushing baby out.

I went to scan and mine is measuring a week ahead. Thats the explanation the doctor gave me; that am having a big baby.

I gave birth to my handsome bobo on Friday 8th of Feb (against edd 27th Feb). I had to be induced because of HBP. Thank God it went well.

BS coming soon. I'm so sorry the BA is coming days later, I just see road see myself after we returned from the hospital.

Present cappo. For the past two weeks now, i have been in pain. i had chicken pox. The pains and itching no be here. but i thank God am better this week. its just the after-scars that is remaining. I do have stomach tightening too. hope its part of the package? By Gods grace I will check sex next week. Can't wait for May to com by.

Sabi mamas please oo, i contacted chicken pox since yesterday. my body has been itching me. i went to hospital and the Dr gave me calamine lotion, paracetamol and zeroclav 625(it contains amoxicilin 500mg and clavulanic acid 125mg). i am having double mind taking it

pls has anyone had chicken pox while pregnant?
did you take drug?
how did you handle it?

See if you can visit FUTO or IMSU ask for the NAAT i.e National association of Academic Technologists chairman. He should be able to guide you properly, because they coordinate the programme most times. You can send a mail to the institute inform@nislt.gov.ng.
You may also want to consider a PGD in SLT at the University of Port Harcourt. Thanks.

PMTE is still available. But the requirement is that those applying should have gained employment as Laboratory technologists working under a registered technologist with the institute, not below level 10. For now the form is not on sale till sometime next year.

Where is their nearest location to imo state? how can i register? do they have website for the program?. sorry for the multiple questions. I just feel its appropriate to have an NISLT certificate since i work in that field now.

Mama you can make your own zobo to your taste and specifications.

Just buy the dry zobo leaves at the MKT, ginger and pineapple if you wish( since you are close to edd)

Wash off the dust on the zobo and place inside pot with water

Wash and blend a sizable ginger and pour inside the zobo

Wash the pineapple and peel, you can add the peeled outer layer of pineapple and the hard tasteless center of the edible fresh to the zobo pot.

Set on fire and boil for sometime( 10-15minutes).

Let it cool then sieve the zobo.

You can add sugar to your taste and refrigerate.
Serve your special zobo drink chilled.

please what does the zobo do? is it good for 2nd trimester or just when you are approaching your due date?

Oh....yes. You need to have either first degree in SLT or for your case you can go for the PMTE. It's an 18months conversion programme for non SLT graduates. I don't know if that's still on, they were talking of stopping the conversion.

Thanks. I pray day and night for an easy labour. Pregnancy suppose to be a joyful thing. but Remebering labour pain keeps me sad. it seems i have low pain tolerance level. But its well. God will see us through.

Each birth is different, however the second birth is easier than the first and usually faster.

Ok thanks. i pray this one will be easier for me. Each time i remeber what i passed through, my heart skips. Someone talked me into that epidural. my husband and i begin to reason it. This is my second pregnancy. I lost that first one due to prolonged labour.

I guess you should visit www.nislt.gov.ng to register and request for your license. Or better still you can visit your institution of graduation to help you process it. I hope you find this helpful.

I went to antenatal today and after meeting with d midwives, she palpated my belle and was like " this belle suppose don come out pass dis size nah", madam let me check again... She use d Doppler and check and she said am not hearing the heartbeat very well.
In my mind I was saying " u get ear problems nah (rolls my eyes... Pls don't look at me like dat Lolz) she said madam u will go and do scan and see d doctor,,..why I was telling this people I wan do scan since ooo to knw how my baby is growing and d refused.
I went nd do d scan and my baby will jump/ jerk up when d guy touches my belle.
Scan result: Every thing is very good and baby is growing ahead of d weeks
Edd changed to 19th May
Sex not seen
I was just smiling sheepishly when I saw my baby on d screen and my toddler was busy looking at d screen and smiling as if he knows wat dat is.
D good Lord will make this journey to be easy for us all. It must surely end in praise and we will carry our babies rejoicing to d Glory of God... Amen.
