mrkels: see this dimwit spilling BS, if you cannot relate them them go hug transformer, you probably graduated with a 3rd class after bribing all your lecturer . Go and educate yourself okay? (˘̯˘ )Warped mind with disjointed thinking. Mob action and primitive lynching is crude, unjustifiable, and animalistic to say the least. For your immature thinking faculties, I had the luxury and privilege of passing through the hands of erudite eminent Nigerians and renowned historians like Professors Ade Ajayi and Obaro Ikime of the great first and best. You may add Professor Ikenna Nzimiro to the names if you wish. Google those names when your silly brain is out of your rear end. |
mrkels: Do you know the story surrounding the ''French Revolution'' Exactly what happened here happened to the rich and corrupt officials in their time, and those people were considered heroes, and the country moved forward till date. For the greater good, some things just need to happen, and I hope what happened during the french revolution would happen one day in nigeria. What exactly is your point you twit? Pontificating and spewing trash about the "French Revolution"? I can give you a comprehensive lecture about your so called "French Revolution" as a student of history. What bearing has that got to do with this barbaric primitive act? Are these allegedly "Uniport student armed robbers" in the same mould as your crooked, insidiously corrupt and morally bankrupt politicians who daily pilfer billions of Naira, impoverishing this same mass-mob in the process? Have any of those horde of vultures (politicians) had the same fate befall them? No! Why? Simply because they've got it all with low IQ morons like yourself. Jungle justice should have no place in a modern day society, however heinous the crime may look to you and I. Let the law of the land take its full course. Saying this, where were those filthy looking, hungry, emaciated, bribe-taking policemen/women in all these wanton senseless killings? Educate yourself more. Rubbish. |
Bleeping savages and heartless beasts. What would this barbaric inhuman mob action achieve? Killed for stealing mere laptop and mobile phones! There are politicians stealing billions and what these bunch of beasts can do is kill their fellow countrymen. I despair. Shocking, senseless and primitive. Backward country with dark mind-set people. Rubbish. |
ooseven: There's no need for 'plenty' grammar. We can't do it in the next 28years except actions are being taken today to address our unity, security, efficiency, patriotism, mentality....plus all the other '-ities' and '-isms'. Till then pass me the.........and lets be realistic. Lets start small, build a world class golf course (Nigerian Open) or organize a world class tennis championship....you get my drift. We never learn how to ride keke Napep, una dey talk of flying Helicopter.Thank you. Abeg tell those unrealistic dreamers. |
ROSSIKE: The real question is how did a dunce like you gain internet access to display your illiteracy and dumbness here?Mature sensible minds have answered your juvenile post and thick skull reasoning. The calibre of your post is a sad reflection of how child-like your way of thinking is. Finito. |
Billyonaire: He is asking a salient question, have you cared to come around VI to see the prototype of Eko Atlantic City ?Salient, unrealistic and myopic question in a country ridden with mind-boggling corruption, poverty and next to non-existent appreciable world-class facilities. Seriously jaundiced post. |
@op, where did you buy your cheap ogogoro from with this post? Waterside or from mama bomboi? |
Ileke-IdI:Thank you! A real mess it was. Disappointing as well. |
London was the most arty-farty useless nonsense that i've seen of any olympic opening ceremonies, save for the part depicting the NHS and the cauldron being lit. Beijing was far better in showcasing the best of China in all its cultural glory and splendour. I actually got bored watching it after less than an hour, but trust the Brits to big-up their woeful rubbish. |

meetmeonline: This is so inspiring, it reminds me of the need to working harder to rather saw myself in front and not telling stories of how I lived in the same street with Dangote.@meetmeonli You're too shallow for me to start exchanging words with. In life, some will tell the story and some will be the story.I am comfortable in my own way, those fellow corpers of mine that I mentioned in my post are comfortable in their own different way, "different strokes for different folks". They achieved whatever they achieved, and I am proud of my own achievements in my own modest way. I could barely make sense of what you wrote, it reminds me of the jumbled writings of a low IQ chimp. There's a Yoruba adage that says, "omo ti oni baba oun ola, enu e ni oun na wa". What have you achieved so far in your lowly miserable life you fool. |
Ministry of information, youth, sports, culture and social development, Sokoto, Sokoto State, 1985/86. The same set as Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi and Tony Elumelu (previous UBA GM). The best time of my life outside undergrad days at Ibadan (UI). We were well received and treated as one of theirs, no discrimination as long as you respected laid down laws, rules and regulations. NYSC allowance then was (N120) one hundred and twenty Naira if I'm not mistaken. Kaza, i.e. live chicken were three for seven Naira at the ultra-modern newly built market (kasuwa). Food was cheap, life and limbs were safe and secure, no killings, no mayhem. We lived and felt at home for the best part of ten months plus. Corpers Lodge on Dan Chadi road, Sokoto was bliss. |
ogbeche77: For those who attended UI.your own is coming too.....Rashidi Yekini University... Come Oct.1st@ogbeche77. Boy, you no well at all. ![]() |
Ebele Jonathan, whatever else you choose to rename please do not touch UI, a.k.a university of ibadan, else i'll no longer be held responsible for my action thereof. Thank you. |
bknight: If ur skull was to be split, I'm sure ur head'll be packed full with rags.@bknight. Thank you very much. Chief Obasanjo is like the proverbial prophet that is not valued in his own country. His worth and contributions to the unity, growth and development of Nigeria despite his personal shortcomings as any human being will not be recognised until such a time in the future when he is no longer here on earth with us anymore. You cannot write the history of modern day Nigeria without acknowledging his onerous contributions as a true nation builder, patriot, and insightful leader. His many achievements both as a military HOS, and civilian president have benefited millions of Nigerians and have withstood the test of time. This forum is too limited for me to elaborate on his laudable achievements, as a student of history. Love or loathe him, he is the best of the bunch and is unparalleled till date achievement wise. He is head and shoulders above these wet clueless incompetent timid bunch. OBJ, let it be known that you're well appreciated as a true-grit Nigerian of worth. Thank you. |
BodyKiss: All you posting 'Obj' must be very st.u!p. Can you all balance his achievement with the amount of money he spent during his time?Air your views/opinion, agree/disagree. There's no need for insults, simple. Some of us contributing might be old enough to be your father. If you'll like to "balance his achievement with the amount of money he spent during his time", then commission your own investigations. Show some respect and proper decorum. Thank you. |
Former president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Mathew Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo. World renowned statesman but vastly under-valued in his own country, Nigeria. A truly detribalised Nigerian. The best and the most insightful leader/politician till date in a country so blessed with what some advanced nations will kill for. Come back OBJ, all is forgiven. Agree/disagree with me please but no insults or immature tribal/sectional jibes. Thank you. |
Detectives 'key culprits' in cash for information claim By Mark Easton Home editor James Ibori was jailed for 13 years for laundering millions of pounds in the UK Continue reading the main story Related Stories Ex-governor jailed for £50m fraud James Ibori: How a thief almost became Nigeria's president Two Scotland Yard detective constables and a former detective inspector have been named as "key culprits" in bribery allegations revealed to MPs. The Home Affairs Select Committee was told about "apparent corruption right at the heart of New Scotland Yard". Officers investigating Nigerian fraudster James Ibori were accused of taking cash payments for information. The former inspector has denied any wrong-doing and the two serving officers have declined to comment. The allegations surfaced during a parliamentary hearing on the role of private detectives. During evidence from lawyer Mike Schwarz from solicitors Bindmans, MPs were told of documents which allege that private investigation firm, Risc Management Ltd, was involved in "wining and dining and paying" officers working on the James Ibori case. Ibori was the former state governor of the oil-rich Delta region in Nigeria, a corrupt official who stole hundreds of millions of pounds from his homeland. He was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment last month after pleading guilty to laundering millions of pounds in the UK. Anonymous documents Mr Schwarz, representing Ibori's London lawyer who was jailed as part of the case, said: "The key culprits appear to be the key players who are the senior investigating officer, DI Gary Walters, and two of the key investigators who are DC John McDonald and DC (Peter) Clark." Mr Schwarz told the committee there were records that "show about half a dozen payments totalling £20,000 over eight or nine months." The allegations were originally made in an anonymous bundle of documents sent to former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson and the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) last summer. The two serving officers have not been questioned over the allegations In October last year, the IPCC instructed the Metropolitan Police's Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS) to conduct an internal investigation. The paperwork included what purported to be detailed invoices and expense ledgers from Risc Management Ltd, headed at the time by two former Scotland Yard detectives, Keith Hunter and Cliff Knuckey. Among the entries in the documents are details of what were said to be payments made to sources for confidential information about the on-going police investigation into Ibori. One entry, dated shortly before police were due to interview James Ibori's London solicitor, reads: "Engaged with source in eliciting information re: forthcoming interviewing strategy to de (sic) deployed by police." Immediately below, the entry states: "Cash payment made to above source for information provided. £5,000.00." Credibility doubts The DPS has said it has "an open mind" as to whether the documents are genuine or an elaborate forgery designed to pervert the course of justice. Mr Schwarz criticised the internal inquiry into the corruption allegations as having "huge failings". "Two of the key officers are still on duty on the same case and one has retired and joined Risc Management," he told the committee. In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: "The MPS is investigating an allegation that illegal payments were made to police officers for information by a private investigation agency. "The DPS referred the matter to the IPCC in October 2011 which agreed to supervise a DPS investigation into the allegations. "This is an ongoing investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage whilst the investigation is under way." The BBC has confirmed that in the seven months since the DPS inquiry was launched, neither Risc Management, nor the law firm who hired them on behalf of James Ibori, have been contacted. No police officer has been asked about the allegations. Already under fire for not properly investigating allegations of phone hacking, and with officers facing allegations they accepted cash from News International journalists, the new claims heap further pressure on the Metropolitan Police. It is not possible to be certain whether the documents at the heart of the corruption allegations are genuine or elaborate fakes nor whether corrupt payments were actually made. Risc Management denies it has ever paid money to any police officer. Source:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18158372 |
Godogwu: I seriously don't know why some Nigerians still have this foolish way of thinking........first of all, most of these houses aren't owned by politicians!!!, people actually work in Nigeria....we have doctors, nurses, engineers, lawyers, CEOs, business men and women, actors, artistes and so on.....politicians are not the only wealthy people in the country. Most of these politicians actually started making money on their own before joining politics . secondly, the fact that you don't own a property like this doesn't mean money has been stolen from you; I'm very sure you didn't have a billion Nara that was forcefully taken by the government.....I believe you should work hard on your own and stop blaming the government for your misfortunes because there are people out there making cool cash in Nigeria. The forum is for you to air your like or dislike of the topic being discussed and not for you to jump on my neck for airing my personal opinion. If you don't like my comment look elsewhere. Simple. |
Mansions built with money stolen from you and I. |
Exactly the same question I was asking myself this morning. The simple answer in my case is NO. |
Beaf: Any ethnic group or section that feels too big to be governed by a man from a minority ethnic group can leave.Thank you. True talk as never said in it's best form. |
A federal judge in Nigeria dismissed charges Monday against a former bank CEO accused in a massive mismanagement scheme that nearly brought down the country’s financial sector. Erastus Akingbola, formerly the CEO of Intercontinental Bank PLC, walked out of court a free man while Justice Charles Archibong harshly criticized efforts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to prosecute the financier, the banker’s lawyer Felix O. Fagbohungbe said. Archibong’s decision to dismiss all the charges against Akingbola came after lawyers for the anti-graft agency asked to resubmit charges against the banker. Fagbohungbe said the judge told the court the trial had dragged on long enough and accused the commission’s lawyers of incompetence. The judge’s order also asked the nation’s attorney general to disband the prosecution’s team and suggested that ethical violation charges be brought against them. “They weren’t diligent. They wanted to delay the procedures of the court,” Fagbohungbe told The Associated Press after the hearing Monday in Lagos. Akingbola had faced charges accusing him of money laundering and falsifying records. Wilson Uwujaren, a spokesman for the commission, could not be reached for comment Monday night. The failed prosecution comes amid other high-profile corruption cases falling apart in Nigeria, which analysts consider to have one of the world’s most graft-riddled government. The banking cases were especially horrifying, as analysts say the mismanagement involved nearly brought down all the nation’s banks. Central bank governor Lamido Sanusi fired Akingbola and four other bank chiefs in August 2009 before he injected $2.55 billion into their troubled banks. Sanusi had been nominated new central bank chief merely two months earlier and faced a spiraling financial crisis that threatened the oil-rich nation’s banking system. Analysts later said the crisis grew out of lax regulation of financial institutions in Nigeria, leaving ample room for banks to cook their books. A top exporter of crude oil to the U.S., Nigeria is also considered West Africa’s banking epicenter with some of its banks having opened branches outside the country. Despite stopping a 2009 crash, banking remains on the ropes in Nigeria. The federal government nationalized three major banks in August over insolvency worries. Akingbola’s own Intercontinental Bank was taken over by Access Bank PLC in January. |
Andre Villas-Boas - AVB. Ain't Very Bright. Clueless and inexperienced. Was undermined by the clique of the entrenched triumvirate of Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba. Antagonising them has been the undoing of past managers at Chelsea with the exception of Carlo Ancelotti. What a pity! Chelsea do not understand that you can't buy victory and commitments with money. The poor chap tried to rebuild with young committed newbreed of players but Abramovic's impatience is glaringly there for all to see. Gunners for life. |
Public charade from EFCC and the massively corrupt Nigerian Judiciary. Ole gbe, ole gba. Just release the chap and stop wasting everybody's time and tax payers money chasing shadows. He'll be discharged and acquitted for lack of evidence as usual. Pointless exercise really. |
Lagos=one big dirty slum. Smartness=criminal tendencies. Hate the place. Was born and raised there as a true son of the soil, Obalende/Ikoyi. Primary school - Ereko Methodist School, 35, Berkley street. Secondary school-St Gregory's College. Principals, Amenechi, Obianwun & Omoera (RIP). HSC A/Level - St Gregory's College. University of Ibadan. Regained my sanity away from that crazy place. NYSC - Sokoto, pre Boko Haram madness. Pure bliss. Friendly, easy going people, honest and true to their words. No one trying to out-smart or criminally take advantage of you. You would buy things and leave the money there in the absence of the owner of the ware or petty goods. Give me a bus-load of dynamite and bulldozer and I'll gladly raze the place to ground zero. |
Okija_juju:^^^ Gbam. Okija-juju, I hear you, the spirit of our ancestors. You have spoken very well. |
These bunch of inept clowns (Efcc) are basking in others glory. That so called Justice Marcel Awokulehin's sorry behind should be hauled before ICPC and the NJC's disciplinary bodies, to explain his curiously shady judgement in discharging and acquitting James Ibori, a known felon in Asaba in 2009. Where are the Dariyes, Jolly Nyames, Saminu Turakis, Chimaroke Nnamanis et al that these jokers called Efchinchin were supposed to be prosecuting? Or are they waiting for the British CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) to do their dirty work for them again? Shameless donkeys. |
Nothing stops anyone falling down when touched by these frauds and charlatans, especially those looking to impress others while playing to the gallery for all to see. The simple answer is their use of hypnosis and sleight of hands coupled with the gullibility of those being led and taken-in by modern day shaman, a.k.a pastors and so called MOG. |
Nauseating, it's even made headline news on ITV London tonight and being reported by the veteran, Ronke Philips. What a life? He even stole from DIY store Wickes when he worked there as a cashier. Once a thief always a thief. Did it have to take British law to bring him to justice for the impoverishment of his own fellow citizens back home? This crook walked free in Nigeria. That says much about the country, its timid posturing and supposed lame fight against corruption. The corrupt and incandescently shameless judge(s) that acquitted him and his accomplice of all charges in Nigeria should hang their heads in shame. It has taken more astute and competent judges elsewhere in the world, (UK) to show how incompetent and under-par our Justices and judiciary system are. Camels! Odji fefe. Ole buruku. |
