Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi has received with shock and total submission to the will of Allah, news of the death of elder statesman, patriot and public servant, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Comassie retired Inspector-General of Police.

Though saddened by this heavy loss, Senator Makarfi derives consolation from the fact that IG Ibrahim Comassie lived a good life in the service of God and humanity. The Sardaunan Katsina was an epitome of simplicity, excellence and professionalism. His contributions to the development of this country were invaluable and cannot be quantified. He has no doubt bequeathed a legacy of humility, honesty and courage in the face of daunting odds, as well as dedication and commitment to justice and fairnes as well as the unity of this country.

His records of public service, especially in the Nigerian Police, where he rose to the apex and which will remain a shining example for current and future generations of police officers and his leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum among others, will continue to be remembered and cherished.

Senator Makarfi conveys his most heartfelt condolences to the Comassie Family, the Emir of Katsina, Government and people of Katsina State, the ACF and indeed all Nigerians over IG Comassie's death.


It is the earnest prayer of Senator Makarfi that Allah (SWT) will abundantly reward the late Sardaunan Katsina for his numerous good deeds, forgive his mistakes, grant him eternal rest and also give his family and all of us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

In particular, it will be useful to establish new funding of the public schools in the Nigeria. Therefore, the existing taxes should be re-channeled from the other areas to the Nigerian education system. Secondly, the economy of our country is the central theme of the presidential platform.

This way, sen makarfi can make significant changes toward economic prosperity. Economic development has always been in the minds of a majority of us; however, the previous government leaders neglected this issue.

Correspondingly, Sen. Makarfi can propose to promote different new businesses, open areas, and new residential areas to bring the country to life. Further more, He will forward the country’s way of prosperity and creation of new jobs.

As a representative of the country, He will control the finance of Nigeria so that the debt will be less with coordinated economic action plan.

Finally, I am sure if Sen. Makarfi is elected, you can be sure that his campaign position is stable.

Moreover, I assure all of you that your concerns and issues will be adequately addressed on the national level.

If the previously mentioned position is your ambition for our country, you will make the right choice to elect the reliable, and fair leader of the Federal republic of Nigeria by voting Sen. Makarfi as your next President in 2019.

Against the background of the killing of over 100 people in Plateau State by herdsmen, the former chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and presidential aspirant of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has said he will stop the killings and other security challenges in the country if elected President.
He spoke, yesterday, in Kaduna after his endorsement by stakeholders of the party in the state.

According to Makarfi, with his wealth of experience and exposure, Nigerians would be better off with him at the helms of affairs.

Earlier in his remarks, the state chairman of PDP, Dr. Hassan Hyet, said Senator Makarfi remains the best person to rule this country in 2019.

Meanwhile, Senator Makarfi and former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki, yesterday commiserated with the government and people of Plateau State over the killings which claimed hundreds of lives, including women and children, on Sunday.

They decried heightened insecurity in the country and urged security agencies to live up to expectations and stem the insecurity across the country.

Speaking, Makarfi who is also a former governor of Kaduna State, in a statement by his media aide, Mukhtar Sirajo, said: “Senator Makarfi believes that even though disagreements are normal in any human setting, the civilised way of resolving such disagreements is by communicating with one another through constant and continuous constructive engagement.
