Nigeria 2023 elections: PDP zoning stands, we’ll produce next president – National Chairman, Ayu March 24, 2022 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu says the platform will zone political offices ahead of the 2023 Nigeria elections. The former Senate President spoke in Abuja while inaugurating the 37-member zoning committee at the national secretariat in Abuja. Ayu told those who fail to get tickets for interested offices to wait for the next political season. The PDP constituted the body to make recommendations for the zoning of various elective positions. The team is expected to submit its final zoning list on Wednesday March 30. On Thursday, Ayu reminded top party executives and stalwarts that the “PDP has a history of rotating offices.” “Anybody who doesn’t get it this time should wait after the tenure of whoever will be our next president. “PDP is going to produce the next President once we start this journey. We will ensure it goes round; it will go round with justice, fairness and the interest of Nigeria.” Ayu charged the zoning committee not to lose sight of the big picture in their “very sensitive assignment”. The PDP Chairman said they were free to advance your arguments “but let there be no rancour”. “You should focus on the main goal which is to win presidential power and commence the rebuilding of the country. “PDP has a reputation for discussion. That’s our tradition. We talk about everything, including the fair distribution of offices. We don’t fight, that’s the spirit of our party”, he added.

Southern Kaduna killings horrible, obnoxious, unacceptable – Makarfi March 24, 2022 Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, a former Governor of Kaduna state has said that news of a resurgent wave of attacks and violence leading to loss of lives of innocent people around the Jema’a-Kaura-Zangon Kataf Local Governments axis of Kaduna State, was as horrible, obnoxious and unacceptable. The former Governor who had not spoken on issues for quite some time, broke his silence in a statement he issued to journalists on Thursday. The statement read thus: “These callous acts must be condemned by all people of decency as we must all come together, irrespective of whatever differences, to do whatever it takes to put a stop to this wanton dcent into animalism.” “I’m appalled at the descent to the gutter, by some elements, to whom human life has become so worthless that they waste it at the slightest (in fact, sometimes no) provocation.” “I condemn these callous and cowardly acts and appeal to the people of the communities and indeed all people of the state to remain calm, peaceful and law abiding, as well as resist the temptation of taking the law into their hands. This is even as I urge the government and security agencies to ensure that no stone is left unturned in efforts to fish out and bring perpetrators of these dastardly acts to justice.” “I convey my most heartfelt condolences to families of the deceased, other victims of this violence and all other violence across the State as well as government and all people of Kaduna State and earnestly pray for the quick return of peace and normalcy to the affected areas and also pray for an enduring peace in Kaduna State and the entire country,” he said.

2023: PDP Appoints 3 Govs, Makarfi Into Zoning C’ttee March 23, 2022 Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and his Enugu and Taraba State counterparts, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Darius Ishaku respectively, are among the 37-member committee to decide the zoning formula of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general elections. The committee, which also comprised 10 former governors of the party, will be saddled with the responsibility of determining where the party’s presidential candidate for 2023 will come from, as well as the principal officers of the National Assembly, if PDP forms the next Federal Government. PDP National Organising Secretary Umar Bature, who released the list of the zoning committee members, said it was in “pursuant to the approval of the National Executive Committee (NEC) at its 95th meeting” of the party. According to the statement, the committee, which will be inaugurated on Thursday, might submit its report after the close of sale of nomination forms. The PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, who addressed journalists after the end of NEC meeting last week, said the zoning committee would be given two weeks to submit its report. Kaduna:Senator makarfi's track record and pedigree in PDP is assured any day and undisputed leader of the PDP in Kaduna State. October 27,2021 I beg to disagree with your inference and conclusion that Senator Makarfi, would have to peddle Lie's against you and or any person for that matter, for him to get relevance and or recognition by PDP governor's.I make bold to say that with his track record and pedigree, his place in the party is assured any day.Yes,as the undisputed leader of the PDP in Kaduna State. The position and recognition of leadership, just as relevance politically too, flow's from dedication and commitment to the cause of any entity over a period of time, which of course, even the worst of enemies to Makarfi, must concede to him. I don't think carrying the wound's of the Kaduna North Local Government Congress this far is a panacea for denigrating the highly regarded leader of the PDP in Kaduna State. Each and every party men must settle down to the task of repositioning our party to retake power from the Czar of Kaduna. I repeat very emphatically any supposed party faithful that take to the social media to praise the inhuman and inchoate governance style of the Czar of Kaduna, is either a mole within and or an unnecessary irritant in the party. Please I advice that you stop your trend of trying to knock the head's of our leader and cause dissonance in Kaduna State PDP. I recommend that your embrace the spartan spirit of my brother and Alh Alimi Yau Abubakar, whom even though did not have his way in the last congress in our local government, has a true democrat, respected the wishes of the larger majority and moved on to work assiduously for the growth of our party at all sphere's in the State. You don't and can never earn respect of any reasonable person in this debonair bring him down approach because,in the first instance I don't see what threat or fears the H. E, Senator Makarfi can have about Umar Sani Decay. Dr Ibrahim.Umar best known as Aziza, has been Chief of Staff to Secondus for the past 4 years,so he has a stake in the future of Secondus in the PDP and should therefore not come as a surprise to any one if he embarks on such a vocation as he tried to do am sure, that should not in any way be linke either to Makarfi. The earlier you embrace and make peace, with people in the party and it's leader's,the better for you. These are just my thought and I stand by them any day, any time.

Kaduna:The outcome of Kaduna state LG results declared by SIECOM-Dr Abburrahman Usmam September 11,2021 X raying the out come of the Kaduna state local government election results was declared by SIECOM. The KADSIECOM chairperson's press conference show's that the independent of KADSIECOM is only on paper, well, most of us who know the czar too well are not surprised either.so after expending over #5 billion on E~ voting machine's! they still have the effrontery to tell us that KADSIECOM enabling law,Doe's not empower it to declare results derived from the commissions server, then why deploy the machine's,if your reliance is based on the tribunal.the concept of utilizing technology is all about easing the electoral process, make it transparent, free, fair and credible, that is making the vote's of the people count as they so desired. We can easily read through the deception of El-rufai, who had futuristically made law to cancel election in area's where there is violence and it's place put up a sole administrator of his choice, but for the annulment of same by the court's.what then is the essence of the servers if they can't be out rightly relied upon without going to the court,I thought the justification of the huge quantum of fund's expended on the machine's, would have been to reduce to the barest minimum litigations, discourage snatching of election materials, but that is not to be, as we have seen how APC acting in tandem with SIECOM and security agent's snatched and diverted E~voting machine's to their chosen rendezvous, so as to rig the poll's as it suit's them. There ought to have been very strong punitive measures for such and issue's of changing PO'S and RO'S at will, just as stern measures on any of them and or security agent who Doe's anything to sabotage the process as witnessed in giwa, sanga, makarfi and kudan.on inconclusive elections,i wonder what informed the hurried declaration of APC in Kaduna north whence there was no election in seven polling unit's whose number of registered voters is in the league of over 8,000 far more than the 1105, difference between the fabled winner and APC. In like wise manner, having authorized the second officer to go to jaba, there is no reason to have failed to uphold the results declared based on tally of out come from the print out obtained from the various polling unit's,the question here is,shouldn't El-rufai's machine's have the capacity to collate the results simultaneously as they are been received in to the server and thus greatly abridge delays in declaring results at both the ward and local government collation centres ? My overall assessment is that, the people of Kaduna state have squarely rejected the APC and are set to change the change. the returns from kudan gives hope that some of our key gubernatorial aspirant is truly walking the talk with his people, let's see how you can sway voters for the PDP from your home base first, before you aspire for any position for that matter. I am very aware of the high wired conspiracy that played out at makarfi local government,in which results of duly returned councillorship and chairmanship votes were Willy nilly up turned, all in an attempt to ridicule our leader, well take it or leave it,every discernible mind knows the truth, the epitome of justice, equity and fairness to all, though not on the ballot, wields enormous support and good will, derivable from his track and even on going record. The electorate's in zone 1 and 2,have woken up from the Stockholm syndrome which they were initially inflicted with, largely by deception.they are now for PDP and would surely do so Insha Allah, come, 2023.how ever,at a time,we are having this reawakening in zone 1 and 2,our party has been inflicted with unnecessary in parts of zone 3,which we paid A huge price for. There is need to quickly move to the drawing board, especially,in zango, we need to further knit our act's together, least we may be dazed by the out come of September 25th poll's.our key stakeholders across the state, need to come together, the era of featuring in big time meeting's in abuja, while you don't even interface at your ward and local government level's is over.those whom almighty have used our party to bless, uplift politically and economically, this is pay back time,no back stabbing on unholy harmony with APC. Please let us all pull together,to rescue Kaduna state, from incestuous grip of the leeches that are sucking her dry. lastly on a salutary note,i wish to commend Hon Amos Abel Gwammna magaji, who showed rare leadership qualities and courage,he led from the front and that is a shining example to all other's,our great hero of jaba.may the almighty continue to bless and guide, now and ever and meet you at every point of your need,Amin.

Violence propelled by key stakeholders of APC in Kaduna state-Dr abdurrahman Usman September 4,2021 The intendment of the botched KADSIECOM electoral act is now clear to every discernible mind from report's of violence propelled by key stakeholders of APC in the state. It us quite unfortunate that El-rufai with all his profound intelligence in real terms has consecrated our legislative arm to a rascally characters whose stock in trade is thuggery. what we have witnessed in Igabi local government is very shameful, especially coming from the local council of the speaker of the state house of assembly. . Well, little wonder the hurried passage of the law which was rightly voided by the court's. I am most saddened by the news, making the rounds, 7 person's shot by thugs commandered by Baban Halima, right under the nose of a superior police officer ! Kaduna state CP, must not only hear this, but act swiftly to save his name and that of his officer's and men.

PRESS STATEMENT 3/9/2021 The Peoples' Democratic Party,PDP, has condemned the postponement of elections in 4 Local Government Areas of Birnin Gwari,Chikun,Kajuru and Zangon Kataf Local Government of Kaduna State, by the State Independent Electoral Commission, KAD-SIECOM, with the guise of "security threats ". The Party wonders why the Commission will deceive the aspirants into believing that elections will hold in their respective Local Governments, only for the SIECOM to postpone the elections in these Local Governments, knowing fully well about the security challenges therein. Only yesterday, the State Independent Electoral Commission deployed sensitive and non sensitive materials to these Local Governments, i.e Birnin Gwari,Kajuru, Chikun and Zangon Kataf Local Governments;it is curious to note that didn't the Commission have the security information before embarking on these distributions ? We see the hands of Esau but the voice of Jacob in all of these! It is absurd for the Commission to tell the citizens that it was due to the escalation of security situation in these places that would not gurantee the smooth conduct of elections, the Commission had to reschedule the rescheduled elections. We condemned, in its entirety, the arbitrary rescheduling of the Local Government elections the fourth time. We called on the KAD-SIECOM to sit up and do it's job without external interference from contrived "security reports" that was teleguided by vested interests from the ruling party. On a final note, the PDP calls for calm from all its members and supporters and vote for all our Councillorship and Chairmanship Candidates across the remaining 19 Local Government Areas of the State. Signed: Abraham Alberah Catoh, State Publicity Secretary, PDP,KDS |
AN OPEN LETTER TO DR SARATU, KADSIECOM February 3,2021 DR SARATU please tell us it is not true Information from the grapevine has it, that as part of it's strategy win local council elections in KAURA, SANGA, KACHIA AND ZANGO, Kaduna state government is set to postpone election's in these area's so that at the postponed election's,the state's treasury and machinery of government can be mobilized to do the bidding of APC. If the postponement turn out to be true, then we shall come to the inexorable conclusion DR Saratu & KADSIECOM are only out do the dirty job of El-rufai and APC and not that of KADALITES.I hope IT doesn't come to pass. Nigerian broadcasting commission should please change it's name to APC broadcasting commission. enough is enough. why must they screen out Kaduna state PDP campaign jingles which are all clearly fact based. NBC must know that it is first and foremost an establishment of the Nigerian state, serviced and maintained from resources that belong to the federating units of Nigeria.I think it is high time,PDP takes legal challenge on this overzealous agent's of Lai Mohammed, the better for Nigerians. We are not living in a zoo,no political party, individual and or entity is superior to other's.you allow El-rufai to pour all sorts of incentives on us and you look the other way,no way. Next time,we shall not only fooly expose you,for your hatchet job,we shall drag you both in your official and personal capacity to court.TUFIA AGBA, enemies of the people.unless and until we drum common sense in to those at the helms of NBC,only then would they realize they have an obligation to the Nigerian state and it's people and not to APC.

The Peoples' Democratic Party,PDP, Kaduna State Chapter wish to inform The Chief of Army Staff, Nigerian Army Headquarters, Abuja, ABOUT THREAT TO USE SOLDIERS TO COMPROMISE THE FORTHCOMING BYE ELECTION IN LERE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF KADUNA STATE. Appreciating the challenges that our security agencies are grappling with at this moment in the history of our country, which apart from confronting the hydra-headed security problems of banditry, kidnapping, insurgency and separatist/secessionist agitations among others, include perception and reputation challenges, we write to respectfully but also painfully alert you to the threat of dragging the name and image of the Nigerian Army into the mud in the course of the forthcoming bye election for the now, vacant seat of the Lere Federal Constituency of Kaduna State. We hasten to draw your attention to this, not only because we are an interested party in the forthcoming election as contestants but also because as patriotic Nigerians, we sympathise and empathise with the Nigerian Army as it toils day and night to, not only ensure the protection of the territorial integrity of our country but also plays the unenviable (and even unnatural) role of performing internal security duties. Dragging it into the murky waters of partisan politics will do no good to its name, image or standing in the society. We observed with disdain, the fact that in the course of the conduct of the primaries of the APC, at the end of which its candidate for the forthcoming bye election emerged, soldiers (or what looked like them) conveyed in trucks, painted in Army colours were brazenly used to intimidate and harass other contestants in the primaries to the advantage of the eventual winner, ostensibly on account of some relationship he claims to have with a retired senior officer currently holding a very important and sensitive position. Much as we witnessed that shameless show and misuse of power and relationship from a distance then, we could hardly do anything because it would look like interfering in the affairs of a rival party. We however have every reason to raise the alarm now, because we are going into elections against the same person who perpetrated that wanton abuse of process and we have it on good authority that the same impunity is being planned on an even grander scale in the forthcoming bye election. We believe that the Nigerian Army is a decent and professional institution, the leadership of which cannot condone this kind of abuse, but it won't be out of place to give you a heads up so that necessary measures are put in place to ensure that the good name of the Institution is not dragged into the mud again as people may react in a way that will put the Army and its leadership in the difficult position of trying to explain the inexplicable. This correspondence is a product of our belief that under your leadership, the Army will always exhibit the traits of best practice that are the hallmark of a disciplined and professional force that is conscious of its place and role in a democratic setting. The PDP is confident that you would use your good offices to ensure that the Army is not, in anyway, (mis)used in the pursuit of any interest outside its mandate. Thank you. Signed: Abraham Alberah Catoh, State Publicity Secretary, PDP,KDS

Senator Makarfi is an outstanding nationalist, brilliant accountant, banker and academician; insightful administrator, legislator and highly dependable leader, who has continued to show uncommon commitment towards the unity, stability and development of our dear nation. Over the years, as a banker, commissioner, two term elected governor of Kaduna state, two term elected senator of the Federal Republic and later the National Chairman of our great party, the PDP, Senator Makarfi has continued to distinguish himself as a patriot, who put the interest of our nation and her people over and above every other consideration. PDP condemns recurring postponement of LG election in Kaduna August 4, 2021 The Kaduna State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has decried the shifting of local government election in the state for the third time, by the State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM). The party said in a statement on Wednesday after its State Working Committee meeting that the commission should stop being influenced by external forces and face its mandate with all seriousness. The statement signed by Abraham Katoh, the party’s Publicity Secretary, said that the commission should not have fixed any date for the election when it knew that it lacked the capacity to do so. It noted that KADSIECOM had initially scheduled the election to hold on June 4, but later shifted it to Aug. 14, and now Sept. 4. “The commission had yet again, rescheduled the elections for 4th Sept. 2021, still not certain of the functional state of her equipment,” it added. The PDP frowned against the recurring development and urged the commission to carry out it’s duty without any external interference, so that it would gain the confidence of the citizenry. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commission announced a shift of the election on Monday, citing the late arrival of batteries for the electronic voting machines it will deploy for the polls. PRESS STATEMENT 7/7/2021 PDP sympathises with parents of the kidnapped victims... The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kaduna State Chapter, wish to sympathise with the parents and relatives of the kidnapped students of Bethel Baptist High School,Damishi,Chikun Local Government. It is no longer news that Kaduna State has become the hotbed of Kidnappings, armed banditry and other heinous crimes in Nigeria today. The recent abduction of over 121 students of the Bethel Baptist High School, along Kujama Road,Kaduna by bandits (kidnappers), the kidnapping of babies, nurses and security guards at the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre, Zaria, the abduction of a family of 8 and 4 others at Kofar Gayan and 3 students and staff of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic,Zaria, and so many unreported incidences in some suburbs of Kaduna, as well as villages within the state, is not only alarming but, frightening. The level of insecurity in Kaduna state, where people find it difficult to sleep and go about their normal day to day businesses, parents are scared of sending their wards to school, economic and social activities are threatened and hampered. The PDP is disturbed by the situation where criminals have freely turned the kidnapping of innocent school students and other vulnerable citizens for ransom, into a lucrative business, following the lacklustre approach and media propaganda under the Elrufai's administration in the fight against banditry/kidnapping in our dear state. The PDP urges the State governor to as a matter of urgency stop his demolition of businesses and residences of citizens of the State, as this inhuman exercise has a multiplier effect in increase in crime rate across the State. This, indicates the failure of governance under Governor Nasir Elrufai APC-led administration in the state and validates concerns that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its administration is bereft of solutions to fight and nip in the bud the spate of insecurity under his watch. PDP challenges the Governor to wake up to his responsibilities of securing lives and property of the citizens of the State, by changing his strategy in the fight against these crimes. The PDP sympathises with the families of the kidnapped victims and the residents of Malali Low Cost, whose houses were demolished recently by the Elrufai government. Our responsibilities individually will determine PDP victory in LG Govt election-Isa Rabi'u June 30, 2021 A PDP media team member in Kaduna state, Isa Rabi'u, has said that he and his PDP family were responsible for their 2019 general election exit. PDP was eliminated from the general elections in 2019,But hopefully the party will bounce back in the coming local government election in August, because everyone know's APC doesn't have anything to offer to the people of Kaduna state. But Isa refused to blame anyone who failed to convert his chances in the past elections, insisting that the PDP family did not do enough individually and collectively to victory in the past elections. We win together, we lose together as one PDP family because Our responsibilities individually will determine PDP victory in LG Govt election. “We’re all responsible for being eliminated at the past elections as PDP one family. There is no pointing finger. We had to deal with injuries of the past, but we’ve no right to make excuses. “We must give everything, we left it all out on the past election .voting are like lottery. We didn’t have any excuse. We’ll now need to manage the pain. At past we should have been able to close the poll out but now is the time to focus and restrategies in the coming local government election.”

Kaduna Bye-Election: PDP Savours Victory, Mocks El-Rufai, APC June 20, 2021 The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says its victory in Saturday’s Kaduna bye-election despite the bragging, intimidation and rigging machinations of the Governor Nasir El-Rufai-led APC administration, is a further signal that the people of Kaduna state have since rejected Governor El-Rufai and his APC. The PDP says its clean victory in Kaduna, particularly in the political melting point like Sabon Gari Constituency, is a foretaste of the crushing defeat that awaits the APC in Kaduna and other states of the federation in the 2023 general elections. The PDP's resounding victory in the Kaduna election is a reaffirmation that Kaduna state is home to PDP, in spite of the APC administration, which is now being shown the way out. The outcome of the Saturday’s bye-election also reinforces the popularity of the PDP as well as our candidate, Alhaji Usman Baba, while serving as an unmistaken expression of the people’s rejection of the high-handedness, oppression, executive recklessness and arrogance, divisiveness, vindictiveness, economic repression, infrastructural decay and general misrule that have characterised governance in Kaduna state under the APC. Since it is clear that the APC administration in Kaduna state has nothing to offer the people other than imposing a siege mentality and arrogant power intoxication, our party counsels the APC to read the hand writing on the wall on the fate that awaits it in 2023. The PDP congratulates the member-elect, Alhaji Usman Baba, as well as the people of Kaduna state and urges him to hit the ground running, in line with the commitment of the PDP to provide the dividends of democracy, which have eluded the people of Kaduna State in the last six years of APC’s misrule. PDP govs move to ‘rescue’ Nigeria from insecurity June 19, 2021 The Forum of Former Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met in Abuja Friday, calling on their colleagues in other parties to join them in the effort to rescue Nigeria from the present insecurity. Rising from the meeting at Legacy House, the former state chief executives affirmed that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration has failed to secure the country due to what they referred to as his poor handling of the situation in the country. The Forum noted that insecurity in the country has deteriorated to the point where citizens in every part of the country are living in fear and trepidation. According to a statement by the Chairman of the forum and former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, signed by his director, media and communications, Bala Bitrus, concerned by the worsening security situation, the forum called on all former governors to shun political differences and unite in finding a solution to the problem. “The Forum notes with serious concern the continuous decadence in Nigeria’s polity and the scaling threats to the lives and property of citizens across the country,” the statement said. It, therefore? called on all former state governors “irrespective of their political leaning, affiliations and sympathy, to come together to the mainstream in the search for a workable solution to the myriad security challenges bedevilling the country.” The forum commended the PDP’s Reconciliation and Strategy Committee for “a job well done” and for the successes recorded so far in uniting the party members across the country. It enjoined members of the PDP to cultivate the virtue of forgiveness, love, peace, maturity and tolerance of one another. Among the PDP ex-governors in attendance in the meeting were Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Peter Obi (Anambra), Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna), Idris Wada (Kogi), Ahmed Abdulfatah (Kwara), and Emeka Ihedioha (Imo).

The Calamity Before Us In Kaduna State. June 5, 2021 Leadership is so dynamic that some leaders start sweetly, but end bitterly as well, thereby transferring the bitterness and all the hurts incurred to the next regime. In this case, Kaduna state, the Hell started with bitterness and he want to transfer the bitterness to PDP for total amendment in the entire state to restore everything back to it's original place in few years to come. All the hurts incurred, hunger and depression that the APC government installed in the hearts of people of Kaduna state, is one of the deadly calamity before us and the danger that we are facing from different local governments and the governor himself on daily basis in the state everyday. The poor leadership of the APC-led government, that has failed to protect lives and property of her citizens, is the reason for the chaos we face today. To this end therefore, I passionately desire to remind the leadership of APC government in Kaduna state that, it is the end that determines what commendation one receives. The end may nullify the beginning. Leaders that end well start planning for their exit the very day they were installed in any political office, but the reverse is the case for this APC-led government. Kaduna State is facing the difficulties in every aspect of life. The Hell is weak in both inner strength and physical capacity to lead the people of Kaduna state. Among the terrestrial and aquatic lives leadership that the governor lacked is base on physical strength to some extent, the body size. The weak in size or inner strength can not lead human kingdom nor the animal kingdom, because only giants that determines the fate of weak leaders. Signed. Isa Rabi'u.
